Book 2 of An Unconventional Affair continues with the lives of Tranquility “Tee” Hammond and Barrington Stone after their split while Barrington goes to Australia for work. He’s to be there for a year to start his career, but his life will take a drastic change. His priorities will change, and his life will be put on hold for eight years. Work will be his entire focus during that time.

The story of these two unfolds and shows that they both are trying to move on from their short affair, but unforeseen circumstances brings them back together and their lives will be changed again. Just when they think that they can move on and have a good life, the past will resurface and cause them trouble for a period.

I give this story a 3.5-star review. It’s a good continuation of the lives of Tee and Barrington while bringing in Sebastian and Ruby. The characters are further developing with this book. For me, some of the writing seemed clinical rather than easy flowing in areas. This story has suspense, love, and turmoil throughout.

Another steamy story about one of the owners of Spiked Roses, this one is about Roman a Prince who is nearing 30 years old and is ready to marry the woman who was promised to him as a young boy, Cherise “Cheri”. Before they can marry though, Cheri has to go through an initiation to be fully engrossed into Prince Roman’s world.

Roman, like the other men that he owns Spiked Roses with, is an alpha male who gets what he wants and will do what it takes to keep the woman who is to be his and keep her safe. Cheri will be put through some tough things in order to be a complete part of Roman’s life. These tests will test both Roman and Cheri’s will and their emotional strength. Will they both survive and get out with their lives?

I enjoyed this story but felt that it was shorter than the others in the series that I’ve read. There were some unanswered questions for me. How do the members of The Iron Colt Brotherhood react to Cheri’s initiation? Were they willing to let her go and did they feel that she passed it without any issues?

The men that own Spiked Roses are men who are powerful, alpha, and lead secretive lives. Roman’s story is full of hot sex scenes. It is sexy and steamy, the same as Alta Hensley’s other Top Shelf stories. I give this book a 3.5-star review and recommend it to anyone who likes Alpha Billionaires who live secret lives and get what or who they want all the time.

This was my first read of Penny Dee and I have to say that she did a great job with this story. I laughed, I cried, and I got so angry with the characters in this story. I wanted to yell and scream to wake up and see what was right in front of you!

Cade Calley and Indigo Parish grew up together from the age of five. They were inseparable until one night at the age of eighteen, one mistake changed everything that they had planned. It will be twelve years before Indy returns to her small town in Mississippi and face her past. They will both have to relive what happened twelve years ago before they move on and live their lives now.

I really enjoyed this story. It had so much to it. Ms. Dee filled this story with so much that it felt as if I knew these characters as my neighbors. She covers so much about Cade and Indy’s lives that it’s as if I really knew them. Their story is about second chances at love and the love of family.

I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy reading MC, second chance, and contemporary romance. I look forward to the next book in the series, Brothers in Arms, and finding out more about these characters and what is in store for them. I give this book a 5-star review and look forward to reading more from Penny Dee.

I purchased this collection after reading the prequel Stone. I enjoyed the four stories in this collection and really liked the characters. I have to say that I liked Trig’s and Cal’s stories the best though. I loved how we saw them both grow so much and change. They were different in their changes and Cal grew so much from the beginning of the series, it was great to see it.

In the first book Rush, we are introduced to all of the guys in the series through Seton and Grey’s story. Grey is the son of Stone, from the prequel. He is now President of the Stone King’s MC. It was nice to see the progression of Grey and Seton’s relationship and learn who they were and how their lives intertwined. He is a man who doesn’t just react to keep his brothers happy, he waits until he has all the information before he will strike for payback.

In the second book Crash, the story continues from parts of Rush, but we also get to learn Levi’s back story and his love interest. This story kept my mind going a mile a minute hoping that they would realize the danger that they were putting themselves in. Levi was sought out by Cherish for help and protection. Little does he know when he first meets her that she is from his past. A past that no in his present knows anything about and that he has been trying to run from and forget since he escaped.

In the third book Ride, Trig is given a second chance at both life and love. As the VP of the MC, he is a man who has a life that he loves. He can have sex whenever he wants with whom ever he wants. However, his life will take a drastic turn because of this. He will learn that love is possible and that his heart is really big enough to love more than one girl. Eva, a girl from Trig’s past will show up in his present life and turn everything upside down for Trig. Her life will change quite a bit as well. I love how we could watch the progression of Trig’s changes in this story and I loved him by the end of the book.

In the fourth book Stand, Cal who his Seton’s little brother that we met in the first book, will show the most changes in this series. He was a young boy when we first met him and his actions showed that. However, joining the MC, getting patched in, and having the camaraderie of the brothers in the MC, he grew up and grew into a man that was responsible, kind, caring and, very possessive. I loved Cal’s and Andi’s story and I was so happy that their lives worked out for both of them and that they both had that one person they could count on.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes MC love stories and the suspense that they bring due to their lifestyle. I give this series a 4.5-star review. After reading this series, I purchased Ms. Loveling’s Lord of Carnage Series bundles. I have not started reading them yet, but I look forward to reading them. Ms. Loveling’s writing drew me in from the first page and kept me turning the pages. I look forward to reading more of her stories. I was first introduced to Ms. Loveling in the Wanted: An Outlaw Anthology when I read her story Rebel Ink. Another great read.

he agrees to marry her. That one night was the catalyst for many changes in
both of their lives.

When Maggie shows back up in town Cash will do anything to find out how to
keep her and what she has been doing for the past three years. Little does he
know that his life will change again now that she’s back.

I really liked this book and I am looking forward to more of the Kane
Brother’s stories. I will have to go back and read the first two in the series
now so that I have all the brother’s stories.

Cash is an alpha male who loves deeply and completely. He is a loving,
caring, brother, son, and friend. I give this story a 4.5-star review and
really look forward to more stories in the Daring the Kane Brothers.

 

Another great story written about tough topics by Bry Ann. This story was heart wrenching, teary eyes, and part humor, but mostly intense. I love the connection between the team members of Supervisory Special Agent Collin Matthew Fox’s team. He may be the one in charge of the team, but they are more like family and will do anything for each other. They’re his brothers and best friends.

Collin’s life has been all about work and his team. This story is raw, and so well written that is draws you in from the beginning and holds you until the end. There is so much going on and so many characters that I wanted to have more of each character’s story.

Bry Ann does such a great job with the tough subjects, and she does such a great job with writing the characters that you want to know them all. I love Collin and Arabella’s story. I look forward to more books by Bry Ann. Especially more books in the FBI Brotherhood Series and the continuation of Ellie’s story. Bry Ann’s books always keep me wanting more. I give this story 5-stars.

Justin Abernathy a man who had it all and then lost it all. His losses will create a prison for him. His friends will encourage him to live again and to sign up for some help. He’s a man who will have to find a way to live again. With the help of Norah. A woman who had to leave the job of her dreams to a job that she is really not cut out for. She’s not really a person who enjoys talking to people, but that’s what she will have to do to make ends meet.

I really liked this book. Although, it took a little bit to get into it. A story of love, loss, and finding a way to live again. This story is heartbreaking and yet it’s a story of finding that one person who thinks you are worth it. The one person who will stand by you, push your limits, and pull you out of your self-imposed prison.

I give this story a 4-star review. The end left me with some questions though. I am hoping that there is going to be more about Justin and Norah, or perhaps Davis and Sophia’s story.

These books are pretty dark and disturbing. They are very good reads if you like dark romance with a large side of disturbed. I read Micaden’s Madness first and then went back to purchase Psychopath’s Prey and Lachlan’s Protege. I haven’t started Lachlan’s Protege yet as I needed a break from the dark stories, but I will be reading it soon.

There is just something about the way that Mason writes these stories that drew me in and kept my interested. Micaden’s Madness was a good story with a lot of background throughout and kept my interest with the suspense of what happened to Micaden and Ella in their lives when they were separated. Psychopath’s Prey was a good story as well, but Kierian’s past was so rough and disturbing that I found this story to be a lot darker to read.

I enjoy dark romance and suspense, and Psychopath’s Prey had a lot of it. I liked how Mason wrote this story so that you had no idea which character was Psychopath until almost at the end of the story, and then she threw in a twist. I really enjoyed reading both stories and I liked the characters in both books. I love V. F. Mason’s Bratva & Cosa Nostra’s Series as well the Sociopath Duet. Her writing is very real and very powerful in her story telling.

These books do have triggers and this warning should be taken very seriously, especially for Psychopath’s Prey. I give both books a 5 star review and look forward to reading Lachlan’s Protege, but with a break in between of a lighter book. I fully recommend these books to anyone who likes dark, suspense romance books and books that will keep your interest from the first page. These books really do that with the first chapter digging right into their lives and their lifestyle.

Emmett’s and Avery’s story is angsty and full of secrets that come out and cause all kinds of trouble for both of them.

I enjoyed reading Shameless King and getting to know the King’s crew. I was happy to read Emmett’s story and have Emmett and Avery figure out their lives.

Emmett and Avery dated in high school and could have made a great life together, but there were too many issues that came between them. Just before graduation, Emmett finds Avery in a compromising position and instead of talking to her and finding out what was going on, he walked out of her life. Four years later they are reunited in an awkward summer get away that could either ruin them forever or fix what went wrong. Too bad the problems from their past are not fixed yet. Will they ever get their happily ever after with each other, or will their past issues come between them again?

I really enjoyed this story and am very happy that Ms. Hughes contacted me and asked me if I would like to read this story. I hope that Ford, Olivia, and Colm all get a story too and I look forward to reading their stories. I give this story a 4.5-star review and highly recommend it to readers that enjoy romance stories with angst, high school love that lasts, and second chances.

before some that are in this anthology.

stories. There were some that I loved completely and a few that were alright to me.

I would love to read more about the Creekers and find out what will happen
with Banner and Hawk. Claiming Chaos drew me in, and I need to read more about Bodhi and Kira. I want more of Kings of Vengeance, Desperate Beginnings, and Hood Rat. There are others too, but these really caught my attention and I bought the series of A Savage Kings MC, after reading Dalton and King’s Road.

I give this anthology a 4-star review and am very happy to recommend it to
any reader who loves to read about bad boys, strong women, and stories about how family doesn’t always mean being related by blood. This anthology will keep you turning the pages and looking for more of each story.
