ARC REVIEW: His Salvation: Cavalieri Della Morte by Claire Marta

his salvation-3DeReader

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5

Our past has a way of coming back to us at some point in our lives.

Kay Lockwood is a killer and a member of the Cavalieri Della Morte. He was born into the life. His father and mother were both murdered when he was a child, but his father was also a killer. Only he was not a member of the Cavalieri Della Morte. After the death of Kay’s parents, he was taken in by Paulo Jilani and raised as his own son. Unfortunately, for Kay, Paulo was the only one in the family who cared about Kay.

Evelyn Thornton has recently graduated from college with her degree as a veterinarian. Always the good girl, straight A’s, studious, and always doing as her parents expect, Evelyn is finally doing something for herself. She won an all-expenses paid trip to Italy for one week. She’s excited about this trip and the possibility of doing something out of the ordinary for her and a little crazy. Little does she know that her life is about to change in so many ways.

I loved this story and the way the story unfolded was perfect. The past comes back to haunt Kay and Paulo in ways that could end with the death of both of them as well as innocents. Kay is a ruthless man who does not take his job lightly. He is lethal, focused, and very dangerous. He will also lose his heart without even knowing it.

I give this story a 4-star review and recommend it to readers who have started reading the Cavalieri Della Morte stories as well as readers who enjoy reading about a lethal Alpha male losing his heart unexpectedly and finding someone who challenges him in different ways than his job does.

ARC Review:Mayhem’s King: Operation Mayhem #4 by Lindsay Cross @GiveMeBooksPR and @lindsaycross101

Mayhem_s King Full Wrap

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5!

Kingston has put his tragic past behind him, but he’s no longer living life. He’s just surviving life. After a tragic day in King’s life, he left everything behind. A member of the Mayhem project, his life is about to change once again. He believes he’s a man who doesn’t deserve happiness or love, and his focus is on revenge.

Laura Dawson is a woman who is content and happy with her life. Her brother, John, was in the service and twice, she thought he was dead. He’ll bring changes to her life that she is not expecting or prepared for. John’s military background will drag Laura into danger, and she will find a part of her that she never knew was missing.

The men that surround King are his family and they will do anything to protect each other and those that mean the world to them. The mansion they all live in is their compound and they believe they are safe there.

I loved this book. However, the second chapter confused me until I got further into it. I was lost for a period of time, but when I got further into the story, I understood what was going on.

It’s a tragic story of a second chance at life for a man who doesn’t believe he deserves it. For a man who believes that he is destined to live his life alone, he has a huge heart in his chest, but needs to be reminded of how to keep it beating.

I give this story a 5-star review and would recommend it to readers who like military, suspense, and tough guys being brought to their knees by little girls. I would like to read more of King’s first team’s story after he left. I think I need to go back and read the previous stories to get a better feel of what is going on with King.

ARC REVIEW: All We Are: The Ex-Factor Duet, Book #2 by Elizabeth Grace and Michelle Lynn

Ex Factor Apothecary

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5!

James “Jimmy” has moved on with his life and is engaged to marry Adelaide, but he needs to put things to rest from his past with Lilah. First, he needs to find her and figure out what happened six years ago to make her betray him. A chance sighting on the news one night gives him the chance to find her and see if he can put everything behind him and have a happy life with Adelaide.

Lilah has moved away from Los Angeles and is living a simple life in Kansas. One scary situation puts her back in the sights of her first and only love Jimmy. She has made mistakes in her life, but now she has straightened herself out and has a good job and a good home. Everything will change though after Jimmy shows up on her doorstep and finds her best kept secret looking back at him.

While most people who read this story may be angry with Lilah for not coming clean with Jimmy, I was the opposite. I was angry and Jimmy. He was the one who told Lilah to get out of his life and never wanted to look back. He wouldn’t give her the chance to explain things to him and she had every right to be scared to come clean with Jimmy.

I was glad that Lilah was able to turn her life around. I like where this book picked up from All We Were. It was done very well, and the story carried through just right. I loved the Epilogue and how far Lilah has come. I really loved the statement that she said she would tell her young self if she could, “If I could tell that little girl anything, it would be to never stop believing. As long as you have hope, you have possibility, and sometimes life will surprise you with what’s possible.” I love this quote and I identify with it. If I didn’t have hope throughout my life, I don’t think it would be as it is now. I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend it to readers who enjoy reading angsty, young love, second chances, and a love that lasts forever.

Oh my! I love this book. The chemistry between Caleb and Honey is off the charts and they are great together.

Caleb Calley, a man who thinks he doesn’t have it in him to have a long-term relationship. He’s part of the Kings of Mayhem MC and his older brother, Cade is the VP. He’s recently broken up from his one semi-long-term relationship when she wanted more than he could give her. It didn’t end well.

Honey Scott is looking to forget her boyfriend of two years that she just caught cheating on her, but she’ll find out that Charlie was a bigger cheater than she expected. Her one-night stand with a hot guy that she picked up in a bar is hard to forget.

Caleb and Honey have a long way to go before they will find their happy life. The crazy things they have to go through only makes them that more entertaining to read. There are twists and turns that will keep you guessing who is doing what. I did not expect who was behind some of the crazy things. I loved the way their love story progressed, and I loved the last few chapters of this story. I was laughing out loud while reading it.

I give this book a 5-star review and recommend it to readers who enjoy a great MC story with some crazy women, women who have been conditioned to be cautious, and sexy MC men who worship the women that they fall in love with.

Another great read of a Dark, Sexy, Sweet Killer.

Anatoli is a man who is doing what he has wanted to do since he was twelve years old. Now that he’s 33 years old, and after going through some trying times in the past year, he is confused as to what he wants to do. A man who has no issues with killing when he’s hired to, he’s headed for a change.

Adelyn “Addy” is a woman who has lived through hell as a child and is now doing what she’s meant to do. She works with Sam Prescott in her children’s home. She loves the children she works with and relates to them better than she does with adults. She’s shy, intense, and a bit awkward. She has a past that she feels that she has to atone for and secrets to keep.

Anatoli and Addy are as far from each other as you could find, or are they? Addy is shy and keeps to herself, while Anatoli is a killer and very confident in who he is. However, they both have childhoods that were far from normal. Addy is intimidated by Anatoli, but she also feels safe and something else when she is around him.

I loved this book and I love how Anatoli is so different with Addy. His soft side is beginning to come out and it just makes him a better character. Addy is able to find her strength and show it around Anatoli. Addy will have to put her mission in life on hold for a few months, but when she is able to continue, she will be so much stronger, and with Anatoli by her side, she will be unstoppable.

Thank you so much for the ending of this story, by the way. You made my day by the end of this story. I don’t know what will be next by Bry Ann, but I cannot wait to find out and read it. I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend it to any reader who enjoys Dark, Alpha, sweet love stories. I devour all of Bry Ann’s books and look forward to her next book.

ARC Review of Martyris by Yolanda Olson

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5!!

Holy Wow!!! Not at all what I was expecting after reading the first two Cavalieri Della Morte books.

Gareth a man who is brutal in his job and has one weakness. He enjoys his tasks when he’s sent out on a job. His tools are as brutal as he is. He’s trying to figure out who his next mark is and he’s not having any success.

The men of the Cavalieri Della Morte are tasked with doing Arthur Calthorpe’s bidding. When he tells them to eliminate a mark, they are not to ask why but just do it in the way that they complete their job. Gareth has only denied one hit from Arthur because he didn’t feel the reasoning was warranted and the man was a good friend.

This story was a bit different from the others that I’ve read so far, Brutally Beautiful, and Vow of Obedience. It is about the woman Gareth is in love with, but has twists and turns that will make you sit up and go, WHAT?? I liked it and found it to be very well written and the complete surprise ending. I give this book a 5-star review and recommend it to readers who like dark, twisted, and suspenseful stories.

Review of Wolf: A Bad Boy Military MC Romance, by Simone Scarlet @simonescarlet

Wolf

Jason “Wolf” Wulf is a man who is living in a small town in Colorado trying to keep his head down and not get into trouble. He’s retired from the Rangers and the Knuckleheads and now running his grandfather’s garage in small town Colorado. He lives a simple life with his German Shepherd Boomer and fixes the few cars that need it. He’s lived here for around a year and has attracted little attention. The one person that he has attracted is the lone female police officer, Deputy Stephanie Hanson.

Deputy Stephanie Hanson has wanted to be a police officer her entire life. She has accomplished that dream, but not everyone is happy with her being in the position. After a crazy break-up with her ex-boyfriend, almost fiancé, her popularity in town took a nose dive. She lived her dream in the small town, but it wasn’t exactly as she had hoped it would be.

Wolf’s past has shown up in town and danger is lurking. He has no clue about what is coming his way or why. Deputy Hanson started a land slide with her curiosity, and one little search caused the death of one man and the possibility of four of others. Will help show up in time to help these four out, or will their dreams for their futures come to an end in one day?

This book has political turmoil, suspense, and a sexy bad boy biker. It wasn’t as intense as El Leon, but the scene around the police station was pretty close. The characters were a mixture of intense and sometimes young. I give this story a 4-star review. If as a reader, you like bikers, retired military, and characters with heat, then you should pick up this book and read it. The Knuckleheads are bad boy bikers with honor for their country.

NPHero Teaser - Mashup

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5

A story of a woman who needs to start over after a bad break-up and bad luck that followed, and a wounded man who needs his privacy and his secrets to remain secrets.

Hayley West decides to move to Chicago after a bad break-up and takes her ten-year-old niece with her on a road trip. She needs a new beginning after the touch patch she is going through, so she takes her sisters prized mustang and drives to Chicago where she plans to start over, only to run into trouble and get stranded.

Warren For is a man who is hurting and is very private. He was an Army Ranger who moved back home to his small town and is living on the property of his grandmother’s Inn. He has secrets and needs his privacy. He is looking for answers and doesn’t want to be distracted from his task.

I loved this book and the characters were so great. They had that perfect amount of Alpha, sassy, caring, and funny. The story is suspenseful, has twists that you don’t see coming and keeps the pages turning. I love Hayley’s strength and her warm heart she is a woman who has hit bottom and realizes that she is bitter but doesn’t want to be. She wants to be free and light like her niece Tara. Warren has an exterior of a mean, grumpy, miserable person, but he has a huge heart and cares too much.

I give this story a 4.5-star review and recommend it to readers who enjoy stories of suspense, military, and characters who keep you entertained.

ARC Review of Vow of Obedience (Cavalieri Della Morte Series) by Brianna Hale @_brianna_hale_

VowOfObedience_Teaser3

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5

She’s looking for redemption and forgiveness and he’s looking for retribution.

Geraint is a man who works in the Cavalieri Della Morte and is not a nice man. He had a tough childhood and a mean father. He feels that his life has gotten better until he is called into Arthur’s office, the father of the Cavalieri Della Morte, and is told that his brother has been murdered. Now all he can think of is retribution for his brother.

Branwen is a woman who is on the run from her family and has taken a vow of silence until she can get redemption and forgiveness for her crime. She’s young and runs right into Geraint when she is trying to find safety. Their paths will cross again in a few months when Geraint is looking for a way to get to the man who killed his brother, and she will be his path.

This book is a quick read, but a great read. It goes fast and kept my interest all the way through. These two will find their redemption in each other.

I really enjoyed this story and I am looking forward to the other stories in the Della Morte. I give this story a 4.5-star review and highly recommend it to readers who like organized crime, suspense, and twists in their stories.
