Review of Bad Boy Blues by Saffron A. Kent @GiveMeBooksPR and @thesaffronkent

Bad Boy Blues Available Now

A story of love, hate, bullying, and finding the power within oneself.

Cleopatra “Blue” Paige is a young woman who is trying to hold onto the past after she has been orphaned and left homeless. She is from the side of town that has had to work for what they have, and her parents did work hard. After her a tragic accident, she wants to get her home back that she grew up in with her loving parents. In order to do that though, she will have to work for the one person that made her life miserable in school. She is sentimental, strong, sassy, and a woman who stands up for others when they are being wronged. A childhood of being bullied has taught her to be compassionate towards those that need a champion in their life.

Zachariah Prince is the son of the founding family of Princetown, and he is also the one man who can destroy Blue’s dreams. He comes from a rich family that has many secrets, and they own the town. He didn’t have a loving childhood like Blue did, and he took out his frustration and hatred towards those who hurt him on Blue, making her life miserable. His friends at school were all rich just like his family and they treated anyone from the wrong side of town as though they were lower than the dirt they walked on.

This story hits a lot of tough subjects that kids go through in life, and it shows how someone who is humiliated, bullied, and treated with disrespect is actually the stronger person as well as the person who holds the power. The power they hold is the ability to move past the bullying, disrespect and humiliation and be the person they are meant to be. These characters have to find their way to the right side of life and being the person they were meant to be. These two find that with each other and they have a beautiful story.

I give this story a 4.5-star review and highly recommend it to any reader who enjoys stories with strong characters who find their way in life, young love, and the power to move on from the life that has brought you down.

ARC Review: Arbitrage by Colette Kebell @rararesources @ColetteKebell

Arbitrage English Mock-Up

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️= 4.5 out of 5

A story of revenge with many twists.

Ryan Logan a man who lives his life for his job until his job is taken from him in a matter of a weekend. He is a man who does his job within the parameters of the law. He’s a lawyer specializing in finance and tax law who made partner within a short time.

Marcus Splinter is a man who works with a group of con artists that are looking for their final con so that they can all retire to their dream lives. They think they have the perfect pawn and are all set for the con and the win. Their lives will change, but not in the way they are hoping it will.

This is a story of revenge, retribution, and redemption. Full of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. I loved the way that the story kept pulling me further and further in. It took me a few pages to get into it, but once I did and focused on the book it was hard to put down. Nothing was as it seemed in this book as I got further into it.

I give this story 4.5-star review and highly recommend it to anyone who likes books with a twist, is full of characters looking for their fortunes and will risk their lives to get it in some cases. If you like crime, police procedural, financial thrillers, and a story that will keep you wondering what will happen next, I suggest you go out and grab this book.

Mine to Protect Teaser 2

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5

Two people who believe they are better off alone find each other and decide to be alone together.

Alta Johnson is a Police for the Estes Park in Colorado. She works to protect the guests of the parks as well as protect the animals in the park and forests from poachers or any other harm that could come to them. After surviving a terrible attach ten years prior, Alta has withdrawn from the public, and stays to the forest. Her best friend is her service dog Benny. Alta lives in a world or paranoia and has ticks to keep her safe and sane.

Cas Matthews is a retired Marine who works as a United States Park Police officer. He holds both federal and state jurisdiction across the country, this unit is tasked with protecting the national monuments, the president, and his visiting dignitaries. He is highly trained as a Marine, but he is also highly trained for this position, which makes him a lethal man. His PTSD from his childhood and his deployments make him even more lethal. There are times he is barely able to control his actions.

Chandler Peters is an FBI profiler who served a couple of tours with Cas and has called him in for help on a serial case. They will partner up and go from Washington DC to Colorado to investigate a serial case that is plaguing Estes Park. These two act like brothers when they are relaxing, but when they are working the case, they are both focused and dangerous men to have to face.

I really enjoyed this story and the characters were awesome. The story has twists, suspense, lust, jealousy, weirdness, and danger. The characters are so real and enjoyable to read. I would love to see a book for Chandler. The tension between John, Alta’s boss, and Cas in entertaining to read. I liked how it ended though. It showed the true character of Cas as well as John, it showed that Alta was right about Cas.

I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend it to readers who enjoy suspense, Alpha men who take charge, women who show their strength, and crime stories. This was my first read of a Kennedy L. Mitchell story, but I look forward to more in my future.

Blurb
In a world ravaged with violence, I still think about the beauty who was taken from me. I’ve turned rabid in her absence. The dormant beast she had tamed is ravenous, feeding on brutality and bloodshed.

I focus on the kill, until Arthur confesses his trump card, shattering every hope I had of reclaiming her. Focused on the job at hand, I step into the lion’s den, only to find nothing is as it seems.

My beast hungers to be satiated.
And my beauty is the only one who can feed it.

A dark treacherous journey where happily ever after may be just out of reach.

Wow, this book started off with the brutality that the Lance Knight, a member of the Cavalieri Della Morte, is known for. It was brutal and yet, it drew me into the book from the first page.

Lance Knight was once the right-hand man to the leader of the Cavalieri Della Morte, that is until he did the one thing that was forbidden, then he became a man who was not only working for the Della Morte, but also had to be cautious about his jobs and who he was hunting down.

I loved this book from the front cover to all the words in the book. The story was brutal, suspenseful, twisted, and intriguing, and the cover is beautiful and sexy. Lance is a man who does his job and has resigned himself to the fact that the one woman who has his heart will never belong to him. He is willing to give her up, but he’s not sure he can. She’s the only woman who made him believe in love and now that she’s gone he is just going through life, but he’s not living.

Lance is given a job to do before he can claim his love. Will he be able to go through with it, or will he have to give up his love and possibly his life?

I give this story a 5-star review and would give it more if I could. If you are a reader who enjoys a story about a broken man and the love of his life, I would highly recommend this book to you. If you like strong, dark, twisted characters, then I suggest you go out and pick up this book. I cannot wait for the rest of the books in this series, if they are anything like Beautifully Broken I will be ecstatic. This was my first book by Dani Rene, I think I’ll have to look her up on Amazon for some more books by her.

He finally knows where they are after six months of looking. A man on the edge is a danger to anyone that gets in his way. However, he’s not the only one who will take out anyone who is in the way or may be in the way.

Ryan and Sophia Xander have been through their fair share of trouble, danger, and darkness. Now they’re in a good place. They have two beautiful children and a great marriage. Sophia used the property she inherited from her family and some of her inheritance to open The Matilda Rose Women’s and Children’s Center. A safe haven for women and children trying to get out of an abusive household. Sophia runs the Center with her sister in-law Laura Xander who is the psychiatrist, her friend Annabelle Montague runs the children’s programs and day care, and her friend Paige Hood, who is a full-time cop and teaches the self-defense classes for anyone interested in taking them. Ryan is a cop and helps out as needed at the center when he can.

Kimberly Ute is a new addition to the center as a live-in nurse. She helped Macey and Elle Staines get away from an abusive husband and father. Macey Staines needs to get away from her husband Deacon, he has become abusive. She might have stayed with him even if he was hitting Macey, but when he lifted a hand to Elle their fifteen-year-old daughter, she could not allow that to happen again.

I loved this story. Even though it was violent, had triggers, and not a full-on feel-good story. It was written so well, and that is what I loved about it. The suspense and twists in this story were so intriguing that the pages turning. I was so intrigued to find out who the culprit was that I kind of lost track of time and what was going on around me. I give this book a 5-star review and highly recommend it to readers who like suspense, crime, or stories that keep you on the edge of your seat. This story is a great mix of all as well as a crazy family that is always there for each other, even if they are loud and tend to have their nose in each other’s business.

Review of: Checking the Traps by Joan Livingston @rararesources @joanlivingston

Isabel Long was a reporter in the hillside area of Massachusetts until she was fired after a large corporation took over the small paper that she was working at. She is a widowed, mature woman that lives with her mother, works at a local bar, Roosters, at a part-time bar tender.

I love Isabel Long and her mother. They are partners in solving crimes. Most of the crimes they are solving are cold cases. Maria, Isabel’s mother is a 93-year-old woman who has a heavy foot when driving, enjoys reading and has a simple, sensible way of looking at cases when Isabel is trying to figure things out. Isabel’s relationship with Jack may be in trouble in this story when a surprise guest shows up.

I love the characters in this series and way that the story is written is entertaining. Ms. Livingston writes these stories as if Isabel is telling the story herself, and when she mentions someone or something that happened in a previous book in the series, she states, “You know how that turned out.” I love it.

Isabel and Maria are trying to figure out how Gary Beaumont’s older brother Cary Moore, died six years earlier. It was listed as a suicide, but Gary thinks he was pushed. The case will lead Isabel to some interesting discoveries along the way. The suspense and twists in this book were great. Isabel will go through more danger while she is trying to solve this cold case. As usual, she will be in danger from those that she is investigating and that are on her list of suspects.

I give this story a 4.5-star review and highly recommend it to readers that enjoy stories with suspense, twists, crime, and a woman PI who loves being able to snoop. I really like Ms. Livingston’s writing style.

ARC Review of El León: A Bad Boy Romance by Simone Scarlet

⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5

Wow! This story starts off with a sexy tryst and pulls you right in. It’s full of danger, family drama, and hot, sexy men.

Valerie Mendoza’s story is not a nice one, but she is able to find a happy life now. A woman who was tricked into going to Mexico with a boyfriend who turned out to be a real loser, she is acquired by the head of the Mendoza Cartel and finds the love she has been looking for. Her parents visit from Arizona and stress their worry for her and their grandson, Francis, living a life in the Cartel.

Arellano El León Mendoza has finally found something worth living for. Being the head of a Cartel is not a safe life, but he will do whatever it takes to stay alive and keep his wife Valerie and their son Francis safe. He’s found a way to ensure that he is not the only man to protect them and ensure their safety, he two lieutenants will protect them with their lives as well. While away from his compound, visiting Valerie’s parents in Cancun, they will encounter danger and escape death, not only once, but twice.

This story was a quick read for me. It was a fast-paced book that takes the reader from a nice family vacation with some drama to more drama while the family has to run for their lives and seek shelter to keep out of the sights of someone who wants to harm them.

I enjoyed this story and give it a 4-star review. If you are a reader who enjoys hot, sexy, Alpha males, and stories of cartels and danger, I highly recommend this story. The cover is quite sext too.

ARC Review of The Guardian: Daryl (Cover Six Security, Book 2) by Lisa B. Kamps

Daryl “Zeus” Anderson is a man who keeps to himself, but he also keeps track of all the men who work for him and his partners, Mac and Jon, in Cover Six Security. His one-night stand in the Caribbean, while attending Mac and TR’s wedding, won’t leave his mind. That’s why he has to keep busy. He also has to fight his past from creeping up on him and distracting him. When he gets a package from his old commanding officer, he will find a lot more than what he is expecting.

Kelsey Davis is a woman who has to keep moving to keep her daughter, Paige, safe. Her father told her to go to Daryl for help and protection, but she doesn’t know him, nor does she trust easily. She’s trying to keep her daughter from a life of danger and will do whatever she can to make sure that Paige is safe. She may be on the run, but she’s not a woman who cowers easily. Being raised by a military man taught her how to take care of herself and set her up to be able to stay under the radar.

I loved Mac’s story, and Daryl’s story was just as good. The men of Cover Six Security are a great team. They work well together on their cases and to keep each other safe and grounded. Daryl and Kelsey will fight to find their future. The story is well written, and the characters are awesome. The Cover Six Security guys are a great team, they are the type of guys that when they find the woman that they want to spend their lives with, they will fall so hard. This is the case with Daryl just like it was Mac.

I give this story a 4.5-star review and am looking forward to Ryder’s book. I highly recommend this book and series to any reader who enjoys suspense, ex-military, and Alpha males who will be taken down by a beautiful woman.

ARC Review: When We Fall (Rocky Falls Series, Book #1) by Olivia Rose @GiveMeBooksPR and @OliviaRoseBooks #TuesdayBookBlog

When We Fall Ebook Cover

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5

Wow! This book was not exactly what I was expecting, but it ended up being much more. A story of young love, tragedy, bullying, and finding a path in life.

I have to say that I love the cover of this book, its beautiful. I also absolutely loved the quote at the beginning of the book. “To be nobody-but-yourself – in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else – means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.” E. E. Cummings
Erin Michaels hasn’t had the easiest time growing up. Her start in life wasn’t the best, but she has a good home, and a loving guardian. Unfortunately, she’s the target of the mean girls in school and has been for years. She tries as hard as she can to be invisible, but her senior year seems to be the year the that she’ll be noticed the most.

Mason Knight, the new kid in school. He’s mysterious and hot, and the only open seat in class is right next to Erin. She is not thrilled that his presence next to her has drawn more attention to her, but she’ll end up happy with the attention he shows her this year.

This story had me getting very angry at the way that the mean girls ruled the school, and no one stood up to them. The story was a tough story, but it was done very well. The tragedy in the story was pulled from the headlines. I loved that Erin was able to show her kind heart and how Mason saw it from the beginning.

This story had the typical high school cliques and showed so many characteristics in the characters and how life can change so quickly for anyone. I loved Erin, Mason, Monica, and Gram. I look forward to more on these characters and to see where life takes them next.

I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend it to readers who enjoy YA love. However, be warned that there is some tragedy in the book, and you’ll need the tissues close.
