Blackstone is at it again. We’re chasing down the cartel, but this time, the tables have been flipped on us.

Members of Team North Rock are being plucked off one by one. The race to understand what is happening can be the difference between life and death.

My position at Blackstone requires a clear head, and yet the stress and guilt I carry are affecting my concentration. But after what happened to my sister and the situation I’ve put my family in, I don’t deserve any sort of peace. My team doesn’t even know, and I choose to bear this burden alone.

Despite my constant internal struggle, I can’t help but notice her – Sloane Harlow. Falling for the lawyer who’s supposed to help us figure things out was never something I planned or expected.

With danger at every turn, things seem to only get worse. Missions fail, lives are in danger, and somehow, the cartel always seems to know our next move.

I can’t help but wonder…could there be a mole in the team?

“John,” Daniel spoke up, “she’s only here for a bit, and for now she’s confined to here and town. We’ll get Davie or Dell to drive her around when she needs to come and go. Frank just wants her out of Washington for a while until the dust settles on the trial.”
“Why do I have the feeling there is more to this story than I’m being told?”
Frank smirked and hit my arm playfully. “Because there’s always more, son.”
I rolled my eyes, and Daniel chuckled.
“Be nice, John.” Savannah poked her head around the corner.
“I’m always nice.”
“You can be, but you also can be a bit cold too.”
I pointed at her, and Daniel shrugged like he agreed.
I wasn’t cold, I was quiet. People misunderstood that about me.
“Would you mind meeting with her tonight?” Frank jumped in. “She’s down at Tin House getting settled.”
“Yeah, okay. But I would be kinder,” I glared at Savi, “if you gave me something on her.” Frank closed his eyes before he spent the next three minutes giving a tiny rundown of who she was to him.
I headed outside and started to jog down the pathway. The cold wind made me hunch my shoulders. Winter was quickly taking over the crisp nights of autumn. We were warned this winter was going to be harsh, and nights like this proved it.
Once I got to the steps, I swallowed back the urge to turn and head back up to my peak and ignore the rest of the world. It was my little oasis and one no one could touch or take away from me.
The last twenty-four hours had been shit, and the idea of discussing it with some citified- privileged lawyer didn’t sound like a good time.
With a deep breath that felt cold in the lungs, I knocked on the door.
“Come in,” a muffled voice called.
I stepped inside to see a woman bent over a box. I closed the door, and when I turned back around, she was balancing a stack of files.
Wait?
I looked around, confused at who I was seeing.
“I’m here to see Sloane Harlow.” I jolted forward to grab the papers just as they began to slip off the top stack. Slipping my arms under hers, I took the stack and put them on the table.
“Thank you.” She pushed her hair off her face, and I couldn’t help but stare. Her indigo blue eyes latched on to mine. She was shorter than I was, and if she removed her heels, she’d probably only come up to my shoulder.
“Agent Black?”
“Yes, and you are?
“Sloane Harlow.”
“Son of a bitch,” flew from my lips. Fucking Mark.
“Are you calling my mother a bitch?”
“No.” My eyes popped out of my head at the realization that it sounded like I had insulted her.
She smirked playfully. “Good.”
“It’s just, Mark said you were…” I stopped myself again. Why was I talking out loud about this?
“I was what?”
“Just, ah,” I stumbled and felt like an ass. “Nothing. Sorry. He’s just a—”
“A son of a bitch,” she finished for me with a chuckle.
“Yeah,” I chuckled.
“Now that we have that cleared up, why don’t you take a seat?”
“Sounds good.”
Oh, yeah, that was a great first impression. Savi will have a field day with this.

MY REVIEW:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

John has it in his head that he does not deserve a life or happiness, so he lives his life working for Blackstone and climbing to his peak. His family hasn’t been the same since his twin sister Elle’s accident and he blames himself for it. He will drop everything to be there for his parents and his twin, but when he’s away on an op, it’s not as easy. He hasn’t shared this with his team because it’s his burden to carry. What he doesn’t realize though is that his team would drop everything to help him and his family as well. When an op goes bad and a lawyer is brought in to look at the situation to help figure out what’s going on, John discovers that there may be a happy life for him after all. He just has to overcome his issues and find his way.

Sloane Harlow is a lawyer that needs a place to hide out for a bit after losing a case. She doesn’t believe that she is in danger, but Frank and her father believe otherwise. Besides the fact that Frank is the one in charge of Blackstone and a family friend, he wants to protect Sloane, but he also wants her help in figuring out how the Cartel keeps one step ahead of Blackstone and Team North Rock in Mexico. They’re losing team members and it’s becoming a dangerous situation for the teams when they go on ops. They need answers and Sloane digs until she finds them.

All of the Blackstone men are sexy as heck and loyal. They are a family that plays hard but work hard as well and live dangerously. The Blackstone family is large and growing. When you prove yourself to these men and women you are part of the family for life. John has lost a lot in his life but when Sloane comes into his life, he sees so much more for himself. It may take him a bit to figure it out and let her in, but it is so worth the wait. I have loved all of these stories and John’s story was no different. I had a hard time putting it down, I was so afraid I’d miss something. I needed to know what was going to happen and only put it down at 2:30 in the morning when my husband told me I needed to go to bed. I love the family shenanigans, the strong bond these characters all have together and the Furby incidents. I’m going to miss him too. I give this story a 5-star review and would give it five more if I could. I love Ms. Drake’s stories she has a knack for writing books that draw you in and hold you hostage until the final page. I can’t wait for more stories from Ms. Drake, she’s one of my one-click authors for sure!

However, when he steps in and saves her from being taken by the president of Legion, she finds that her will and mind will be tested because now they have to pretend that they are a couple, or they will both be dead. She has to fight for what she wants, and she isn’t sure that her heart can take it. When the reality of their situation sinks in, she’ll find that her life has been turned upside down and that maybe their lie isn’t a lie. These two have a lot to overcome and a lot of danger to avoid if they want to have a life, but when they finally figure out that they were meant to be together, their lives are seriously in danger and one of them may not make it out alive. Asher took over the kiss, brushing his lips over hers in a tantalizing slow rhythm that coaxed her into following. Slowly his lips parted hers, and his tongue stole into her mouth, seducing hers into a dance. She felt the sensations flow down her neck, into her chest, and tighten her nipples. She rubbed her breasts against his chest, trying to find relief.
Is that me whining?
Ash’s fingers tangled in her hair, tipping her head in a way that allowed for a deeper kiss. She felt his heartbeat against her chest and beneath her fingers at his neck. He nipped at her lips, forcing her to open wider so that their breaths could mingle, and he could tempt her with a thrusting tempo, one that would be even more satisfying if it wasn’t just his tongue and a kiss.
She moved her hands and scrabbled for the hem of his t-shirt.
“Shhhh, slow down,” he soothed.
“No.” She thrust her palms under his shirt and sighed with pleasure when she met with the hot hard planes of his stomach. It was like touching hot velvet steel, only better, because it was Asher. She needed more. She pushed up higher and then groaned as her fingers delved into his chest hair.
“God, Asher.”
“Eden, you don’t mean this, Honey.”
She tugged at his chest hair to punish him for denying her. “I do.”
“Eden,” he protested.
“I need to get close. Just let me get closer to you.” She heard the need in her voice and winced. “Please, Asher?”
As if he knew exactly how much it took for her to ask, he whipped the shirt over his head. It ended up somewhere, she didn’t care where. Then she was lifted and gently lowered down onto the carpet, her head resting onto the makeshift pillow.
“I need to be close to you too, Eden. You, Eden York. No other woman would ever do.”
How does he know the right words to say?
Asher looked her right in the eyes, then slowly, ever so slowly, unbuttoned the first button of her blouse. He placed a kiss on the upper swell of her breast. “So beautiful.”
He trailed kisses upwards, until soon their lips met again, and she was lost in a maelstrom of heat, hunger, and passion. She tried to spread her legs wide so she could wrap them around Asher, but the skirt was too tight, so she had to suffice herself with squeezing his thigh. She pushed up against him, trying to ease her ache.
“Eden—” he started.
“I need more,” she sobbed. After hearing his story. After seeing this man’s soul, she needed him. It felt like the world was crashing in around them, and she wanted him! Was he going to make her beg?
“Shhhhh, I’m here.” He cupped her head tightly to his chest. She started to relax. It was like she could breathe. “It’s okay, Baby, I’ve got you. I won’t let you down.”

MY REVIEW:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

A story of finding trust, both in yourself and others.

Asher Thorne has always had things easy, but after a devastating loss he’s reeling and trying to find trust in himself again. When a rescue attempt goes FUBAR from the first moment his SEAL team starts to touch down in Venezuela, Asher will have to find the man that he was before his loss. He’s still blaming himself for not seeing the signs and now that he has to be on full alert and ready to save lives, he will have to dig deep and keep his mind in the game if he wants to get home alive and save the lives of those he’s there to help.

Eden York is a woman that grew up on a farm with a father that served his country and is the town sheriff and brothers that have served their country too. She’s on a dangerous mission as a translator and finds herself in a situation that brings out the strength and control that she has always had. When she has to rely on others, she has to dig deep within herself to find the trust that the SEAL team there to rescue her and the others being targeted will get them all out and protect them. She has a hard time giving up that control and trusting anyone other than her family, but since they are not their she has to find a way to work with these SEALs.

This was a great story and the characters are strong and entertaining. I loved the story line. The story is full of action, suspense and danger. I have not read the first two books in the Night Storm series but will have to go back and read them now. The SEAL team is a brotherhood and the characters joke around and care about each other, but they also know when to be serious and fight together as well. They have each other’s backs and feel any loss like the loss of a family member. I enjoyed reading Asher and Eden’s story and look forward to reading more of the Night Storm series. I look forward to Lawson’s story. I give this story a 5-star review and recommend it to anyone that likes military romance of stories strong, sassy women that fight for their beliefs.

She huffs as she starts to walk past me toward the door, “What do you want from me Travis?”

“Everything.” I reply and watch as her eyes flash with fear and uncertainty.  “You have twenty minutes and I’m coming to look for you.”

She nods, “I’m not worth your time Travis, trust me. I’m broken and nothing is ever going to fix me. You’re better off just forgetting about me.” She drops that bombshell as she leaves, her voice small and I want to snatch her up and find out what broke her. Instead, I watch as she leaves, not once turning back.

“She’s got you tied up in knots. I’ve not seen you act that way ever brother.” Tank says walking into my office. “I get it, she’s sexy as fuck, her attitude is hotter than hell and I rekon she’ll ignite under you like the fourth of July. But she’s got a lot of baggage, did you see the scars?”

“What fucking scars?” I growl, I didn’t see any.

“She tried to hide them, but I saw them. Her thighs, her stomach, and I’m pretty sure she has some on her chest and back.” He explains, “They were silvery, she did a fuck of a good job trying to cover them up, especially with so much glitter, but I know scars and she’s got a lot and not just on the outside.”

“She told me she’s broken.” I confide in him.

He nods, “The good ones usually are. But they make it worth trying to fix them. You fix her, she’ll stay loyal by your side.”

“She’s too good for this life.”

He barks out a laugh, “Nah brother, she’s not, I think she’s just what you need. She’s yours, we can all see that. You’ve just gotta make sure she does.”

A knock at the door has both of us turning, it’s Savage, he’s got a shit eating grin on his face. “Um, Prez, your woman is about ready to kill the prospect.”

I groan, “What the fuck?” I say getting to my feet and prowling out to find out what the hell is going on.

I hear her voice before I see her. “Didn’t your mama ever teach you not to perv on people?”

I growl. “Yeah, he tried to watch as she got dressed. Don’t think he realized she’s yours. If he did, well then, he’s got a death wish,” Savage says with a grin.

My Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 3. 5 out of 5

An interesting story of two people from two completely different worlds that find themselves together. He’s the president of Angel’s Fury MC and she’s the sister of one of his strippers. He expects respect and cooperation from anyone that comes into contact with him and she’s a girl that has a tortured past, and she doesn’t take crud from anyone. She has no filter and is naïve about her sister’s life and the world she’s living in. Circumstances will bring Jemma and Travis together.

Jemma is a young girl that has been caring for her mother and is trying to get her older sister to come home to say goodbye to their mom. When she gets no response from Tara, she’ll search her out and put herself into an uncomfortable situation, but she’ll also find who she really is and that her strength goes deeper than she was aware of. It can also bring her out of the shell she’s been living in for year.

Travis is amused by the young girl at first, but when Jem disrespects him he wants to show her that he will not tolerate her mouth or her sassiness. He has no idea why the girl fascinates him, nor does he understand how deep his interests go until he sees her on the stage at Angel’s Titties. The fact that other men are looking at her while she is stripping has his blood boiling and he makes the move to claim her and keep her off the stage. He’ll have to figure out what’s going on and how he will keep his word that Tara will have her job when she returns without ruining his reputation. I give this story a 3.5-star review and look forward to more of Jemma’s and Travis’ story.

Review of Rescued (An Everyday Heroes World Book) by Evan Grace @evan76grace @GiveMeBooksPR

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Gwen is an adrenaline junkie that travels the world doing all kinds of action trips that she Vlogs about. When she goes home to California for the summer to take some time to spend with family, she finds herself in a situation that has her scared and traumatized. Her only saving grace is the officer that was with her in during this trauma. He seems to be the only person that can calm her and help her through the trauma. Her family is great, but she has a connection with the officer and now she has to wonder if her attraction is only due to the trauma they endured together.

Maverick is a man that likes variety in his life and makes sure that all the women he sleeps with know the score, he is not going to settle down with them. He likes his life the way it is and is not in any hurry to change it. He’s a cop is married to the job. A domestic violence call a couple of years ago had him making a change in police departments and he’s found his happiness in Sunnyville working as a police officer and living life on his own terms. When he’s invited to the boss’s house for a barbecue and to meet his daughter that is home for the summer, he’s stunned when he sees the beautiful strawberry blonde and wants to talk to her, until he finds out that she’s the boss’s daughter. Now he knows she’s off limits, the only problem is that he can’t get her out of his head.

I enjoyed this story and found the attraction and pull between these two to be interesting. I like that Gwen is a strong independent woman that even though she’s attracted to Maverick, she won’t give him the time of day when she sees him with a girl that she hates. The only trouble is that neither one of these guys can get the other out of their thoughts and circumstances and fate will throw them together. Their road is a bumpy one, but with the strength and support of Gwen’s family, they’ll find a way to navigate and find a path to happiness. They have some hurdles to overcome, but their determination and support will carry them through. I give this story a 5-star review and would like to read more. I look forward to reading Taylor and Troy’s story in 2021.

Review of Flame (Dragon Triad Duet, Book 2) By Lana Skye @lanasky101 @GiveMeBooksPR

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

She’s always been told that she owes her brother, Brandon and she’s been controlled by him for years. Now she’s questioning his involvement in a murder of a young woman. Branden’s a cop that has been suspended and is on the edge. He is abusive and blames Hannah for him losing his temper and hitting her. He blames Hannah for a lot of issues in his life. That’s how he controls her. Hannah is a woman looking to live her own life and freedom from being under her brother’s thumb, but she just keeps finding herself in more trouble.

Rafe does his Uncle’s bidding, but he is a talented artist and tattooist that just wants to live his own life as well. He’s part of his uncle’s Triad and has a rap sheet, which Branden uses against him with Hannah to get her to get away from him. Rafe is a good guy, but in a bad life and situation. He wants to be free of his chains as much as Hannah does.

This story is full of danger, actions, suspense, lies, betrayal and twists and turns. It’s a story of two people that shouldn’t be together, but they find their peace in life with each other and they find that they bring more to each other’s lives, even if they fight it all the way. They are drawn to each other from their first meeting and they find that their lives keep becoming intwined. They not have to fight their attraction to each other, but they also have to fight each other’s demons to find peace. I loved the story and give it a 5-star review. If you enjoy a story of suspense, action, organized crime, and strong characters, you will love Flame. Hannah describes her attraction to Rafe as being a moth to the flame and Rafe has to work hard to make Hannah believe that she is worth his attention and attraction, but he does it in a roundabout way. These characters are strong and survivors, they have to fight a lot to be happy, but it will be worth the fight.

My Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

She’s the youngest of the Hatcher sisters and her fate was the same as her sister’s, but she was gone a lot longer than the others. She was so broken and scared that she didn’t think she could ever go back into the world or be with her sisters again. Her life revolved around Noah and the animals that she cared for on their property. He gave her everything she ever wanted, why would she put herself back in the world where there was danger lurking everywhere. She could have stayed sequestered forever if Sapphire hadn’t been the detective to show up at the sight of the dead woman. Because she was, all of Emerald and Noah’s secrets were about to be discovered and she would have to see her sisters again.

Emerald wasn’t ready to reconnect, but fate had other intentions and her choice was taken from her. Noah would have done anything to keep Emerald safe and to himself, but she was finally beginning to find her voice and determination. Now Noah was afraid that he would lose her forever, he just needed to have faith in her, and he would have realized that their future was together, not separate.

I have enjoyed the Broken Gems stories and Emerald’s was no disappointment. Her story was full of danger, dark, twisted, characters and a loving family. All of the Hatcher sisters survived their teen years after being betrayed by their parents and they found the other half of their hearts and souls, Emerald’s was a little different than her sister’s, but she still found her other half and was not ready to give him up. These women have always been stronger together and this book showed that they still were, even after one missing for ten years, and their fear that she would not be found alive. I give this story a 5-star review and look forward to Salvaging Marigold in the near future. These women are strong, loyal, and full of love, and their men are strong, protective, and dangerous.

My ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review of Pirate (Ruthless Kings MC, Book 6) by K. L. Savage @klsavage_author @GiveMeBooksPR

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Wow! I knew Pirate’s book would be something, but I never expected what I read. It is dark, twisted, heartbreaking, and a great story of two broken souls finding redemption and healing in rehab.

Patrick “Pirate” has hit his lowest yet after eighteen years of obliterating his mind and body to forget the pain and heartbreak of his childhood. His brothers in the Ruthless Kings MC can’t stand by any longer and watch him slowly kill himself with booze. They make a decision to put him in rehab and he hates them for it. It is a painful and hard time for him while he is trying to dry out. The only light in the place is in the form of a woman that always smiles and won’t leave him alone. Her name is Sunnie and she exudes sunshine by her smile and bubbly attitude, little does Pirate know that she is also hiding a dark and broken past.

Sunnie has not had an easy life and her so called father is the reason she is in rehab. He’s to blame for all of her problems, but when she finds out the truth of her life and that everything she thought was just a lie, it could break her and drag her back down to the dark past she is trying to claw her way out of. Pirate is breaking her heart by listening to him during his detox and she just wants to help him and be near him to make him feel better. Their connection is deeper than just being addicts and they will fight to get better and keep each other in their lives.

I loved Pirate’s book. Although it is dark and twisted, it was such a good read and it was great to see the transformation of Pirate and his realization that he really wasn’t alone in the world after what he endured at thirteen. His MC family brought him back from the flames and the impending death he was headed for, but not only his family, he found a kindred spirit and a reason to live when he found Sunnie. Now that he has Sunnie in his life, he has another battle to fight and win if he wants to keep her and be with her forever. This story is hard to read at times, but so worth the read. It does have an HEA and is steamy, unpredictable, and twisted, but then it seems that most of the Ruthless Kings are twisted. I give this story a 5-star review. I cannot wait for more of this series and Tongue’s story is one I want my hands on. He is so unpredictable and twisted, I am sure that his story will be hard to read just like Pirate’s was, but I cannot wait to read it.

MY REVIEW:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Can two shattered and damaged souls come together and find a way to become whole again and heal?

He has deep dark secrets about his youth, even his best friends have no idea what he endured and now those secrets are coming to light and his whole life is about to explode. He is ruined for relationships and trusts very few women. He discovers a huge secret and will go to any length to find out if it’s true. If it is, he has a lot to make up for and is determined to do it. He needs the two young women in his life that he has found as they complete his life and make him want to continue on.

She was betrayed by someone that should have protected her, but her life has been a mess for a while now and after she was kidnapped and made to witness something devastating and find out that there are secrets in her family, she is discovering that she has a dark side and a need to be reckless. If she doesn’t come clean about her experience it could destroy her from the inside out and she will shatter, and no one will be able to put her back together.

This story was dark, twisted, deep and steamy. The characters are powerful, dark and loyal to each other. They don’t worry too much about others around them outside of their circle, but those in their circle are tight and will do anything for each other. This story was deep and dark, but it was a story of two people that found their puzzle piece to help them heal and feel whole again. I give it a 5-star review and look forward to more in the B.A.D Inc Series. These characters may have struggled in their youths, but they have found their place in the world and won’t let anyone get in their way of living their lives to the fullest, while taking no prisoners.

MY REVIEW:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Big sky, small town and a man looking for peace.

Skylar James is trying to keep her brothers and her together after losing their father two years ago. She is raising two teenage boys, running her father’s bar and working hard to keep her brothers out of trouble and on the right path. When her older, estranged half-brother threatens their home and livelihood they are all worried. They have felt as if they are alone since their father died, but this threat against them will show them that they have always been had someone watching their backs. They have a hill to climb before they can find their footing and their lives can move forward the way they want it to, but with the help of unlikely allies and a man that shows up in town, they will find so much more than they thought they wanted.

Logan Storm is ex-Delta Forces. He left the service after losing his closest friends in an ambush, his brothers. He requested that when he retired, they let Max, their military dog leave with him, and his wish was granted. Now Max and Logan are traveling around the country looking for peace and a reprieve from the nightmares that plague Logan. When he wakes up and finds the beautiful countryside around him where he stopped for the night to sleep, he is ready to find coffee and move on, but fate has other ideas for him. Little does he know that the peace he has been searching for was in Ennis, Montana all along.

I loved this story. While it is a story of an ex-military man that is haunted by his demons of being at war and losing the three men that meant the world to him, it is also about family, and finding family in the most unexpected places, times, and ways. Skylar James has three brothers, two that she has mostly raised since she was ten years old and an older brother that has never wanted anything to do with her or her brothers, other than hurt them and destroy their world. Logan was an only child that was raised in the system and found family in the Army and Delta Force, as well as when he finds a young woman two teenage boys sitting along the side of the road looking so devastated. Little do any of them know that their worlds will be changed in more ways than one. I give this story a 5-star review and look forward to more of this series. I hope it will be Ty and Jamie’s story next. The story was full of danger, actions, an awesome dog, and great characters.
