My ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review of Deadly Aim by Tracy Brody @HiddenGemsBooks @TracyBrodyBooks

Deadly Aim Cover

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

“Bad Karma has never felt so worth it”.

This team may not always get along, but when it comes right down to it, they are a team and will always have each-others backs. They actually get along about as well as a family of brothers do.

An Army Black Hawk pilot, a woman, and survivor, Kristie Donovan is all of these and more. She’s is called in to train the Columbian military but finds herself in a dangerous rescue that could put her in danger.

Bad Karma is a team of Army special forces that get the tough jobs. While working one of these jobs, they need an extraction, but when things go sideways the whole team is in danger. The only saving grace is that it’s not easy to find them or who they are.

I loved this story. The plot, characters, and writing are great. I was drawn in from the first page and kept hostage until the end. Kristie and Mack have a lot of obstacles to overcome before they can move forward in their lives and find the brightness they both deserve. This was my first read of this series and of Tracy Brody’s stories, but I find that she will be a regular in my Kindle App. I really like her story and her writing. I need to find time to go back and read the first book in the Bad Karma series and watch for the next story in the series. I give this story a 5-star review and recommend it to readers who enjoy Military, suspense, or stories with heroines that know how to take care of themselves, but also know when to let the Hero take care of her and help her as well.

They say success is the best revenge.
I say it isn’t enough.
I’ve spent the last twenty years building my empire, but I’ll never forget the gutters I had to crawl through to get here. Or the enemy who made it that way. Kevin Cryson, the man who destroyed my life. It isn’t enough to build my own empire if I can’t crush his.
Luckily, I’ve found his weak spot. The perfect lure in the form of a brown-eyed devil with chestnut hair and a deviant smile. The princess he never should’ve let leave the castle.
They say revenge makes people bitter.
I’ve never tasted anything so sweet.
**Julius is complete story with a guaranteed HEA and NO cliffhanger. It is set in the same world as the interconnected standalone series Darker Places, but the series is not necessary to read in order to enjoy Julius. My Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 3.5 out of 5

Julius can’t see anything other than his revenge and the path to his revenge. His mind is set on how to get pay back for the tragedy that he lived through as a child. Unfortunately, it will include a woman he has never met, but knows will get the pay back he wants.

Laney has lived a sheltered life and at the age of 19 she is ready to get away from her family and live her life on her own terms. Little does she know that her whole life has been a lie. She will learn the dangers that lurk in the world when she tries to protect her cousin from a kidnapper only to become his victim.

This was a good story, it took me a bit to get into it at the beginning for some reason, but once I got into it, I enjoyed it. The secrets that Laney discovers about her family and her true life could ruin her innocence, and captive is determined to do that as well as make her see the truth about her family. If you enjoy suspense, mafia, revenge, or bully stories, you will enjoy Julius. I give the story a 3.5-star review.

Jax & Jokers

Gunny’s story….

I’m a loyal member of the Demented Sons MC. My priorities were my club and my family. Add in one sick bastard trying to pick us off and I sure as hell didn’t need relationship complications.

Enter one hot waitress.

A chance meeting. One wild night. By morning, I was gone. Maybe I’d used her, but she’d utterly ruined me.

Brothers dropping like flies, adrenaline in my veins, she would’ve been a dangerous distraction – one I couldn’t afford.

At the worst possible moment, I made her a reckless promise. A promise I wouldn’t keep – because I’m no saint.

She was already mine. Too bad it literally took a hurricane to make me see it.

My Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Jaxon (Gunny) is one sexy man. He is battling inside about his feelings about his brother Lock’s woman. He decides to take a job on a drilling rig to get away from Lock and his family as well as his MC brothers. On a night before he has to leave town to go back out on the rig, he sees a woman that looks a lot like Raiven, Lock’s woman. He decides to take her home and spend one night with her, little does he know that one night will change his whole life, but he won’t know it until after several months.

Avery is trying to make ends meet while working in a diner as well as going to school to study for her Masters in Sociology. She is struggling to make it, but she’s strong and determined. She grew up the system and after aging out of the system, she joined the Air Force. She’s a survivor and after her one night with Gunny, her life will change drastically and for the better.

I loved this story. The struggle that Gunny goes through to keep his feelings secret and in check, is a pure show of strength and leads him to the woman who brings him to his knees. Even though Avery is a strong woman, her strength is doubled when she is taken into the Demented Sons family and realizes that she has friends who care about her and will do anything for them. I give this story a 5-star review and now need to go back and read more of the series since this was my first read of the Demented Sons. These men are sexy, loyal to their family and friends and fun to read. If you like MC, ex-military, and sexy men with strong, sassy women, then you really need to one-click Jax and Jokers, by Kristine Allen. This will not be my last read of Ms. Allen’s work. She knows how to weave story of love, strength, suspense, danger, and sexiness.

Review of Liam: Heaven Hill Shorts by Laramie Briscoe @LaramieBriscoe

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

I had a hard time reading this story because of the tears in my eyes through the whole story. Being a mother and grandmother, it hit me really hard.

The members of the Heaven Hill MC are still dealing with their emotions and thoughts after the abduction of Justice by one of their own. As well as the devastation of Mandy and Dalton’s break-up and loss. The fact that no one caught the turmoil that Travis was going through is weighing heavily on Liam and now he finds out that his own daughter is dealing with issues as well and they were almost missed. He is worried that he may have missed something and when his grandson tells him that he’s scared his mother is going to do something to hurt herself, Liam struggles with how to help her and step in to prevent more devastation to the MC and their family. I give this story a 5-star review and commend Ms. Briscoe for the way that she handled such a troublesome and touchy story, she did a great job pulling all of the feels out of this one. I loved it!

I write crime fiction based in Wales and about Wales. The rural landscape of north Wales provides the backdrop to the Inspector Drake novels. And Cardiff the capital of Wales provides the setting for the Inspector Marco novels set in a modern urban environment.
I love the novels of Raymond Chandler, Ian Rankin, Mark Billingham, Henning Mankell, Val McDermid – the list could go on! And I enjoy watching detective series on the television the recent Hinterland series based near Aberystwyth in Wales was great. One of my favourites is the French series Spiral but The Bridge and Broadchurch and the Rebus series with Ken Stott and Kenneth Branagh in Wallander are great too.
I have been on writing courses at the Welsh Writers Centre in Llanystymdwy, North Wales tutored by Matt Whyman and Marcus Sedgwick as well as crime writing courses with Peter Robinson and Andrew Taylor at the Scottish Writers centre.
I was born in Anglesey an island off the north Wales coast and after leaving school in Holyhead I went to University in London before training as a solicitor/lawyer. I practised in a small family business doing criminal work in the magistrates and crown courts, divorce and family work.

I still live on Anglesey, North Wales near the beach and the mountains of Snowdonia.

My Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5

The elderly are being targeted by a killer and no one knows why or who is doing it. There are cases that haven’t been identified yet as being similar, but Inspector Drake and his team will work diligently to find the killer and stop him.

Detective Inspector Drake has to adjust to a new boss, and he isn’t quite sure yet if he will like working with him or not. He’s a man who likes things to be uniformed and regular. Change is not his friend. With this new case, he’ll have to step back as the SIO because Superintendent Hobbs, his new boss, has decided to take the position. Inspector Drake and his team will work tirelessly to find the killer and the reason behind the killing. While investigating they will discover that there are more than they initially thought.

Inspector Drake is a man that digs deep and does not overlook details. His team is the just as hard working and focused as he is, and they work very well together. In this book when one of his own team members finds herself in a situation that could end very badly, he blames himself and will not rest until he finds her and makes sure that she is alright. I love these stories and the detail that is put into them really makes the story flow, and draw me in. Mr. Puleston has a way with Inspector Drake that endears him to me. I know not everyone likes to read about someone with OCD, but the details that Inspector Drake has to have in his life is what I like about him. If you like police procedural, mystery, suspense, or police detectives that never give up, then you will love A Cold Dark Heart. I give this story a 4.5-star review.

My ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review of Mine (The Ties That Bind 1) by Natasha Knight & A. Zavarelli @GiveMeBooksPR @NatashaKnight13 @AZavarellibooks

MineAvailableNow

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Two of my favorite mafia authors joined up to write an awesome story!

Katerina and her best friend Nina are out in a club, but neither one should be there because they aren’t old enough. Their fake ID got them, but one they’re in Katerina finds herself in a situation that could be very bad. That is until her knight in shining armor shows up to save her. Only, he’s not a good guy either.

Levka is not a nice man, nor is he a good man, but he can’t help himself when he sees Katerina being man handled by some men in the hallway. He rescues her but is he really just putting her in more danger? He really should stay away from her, but something about her draws him in. He can’t seem to get her out of his mind and it really is not a good situation due to his family and the business he’s in.

I love Natasha Knight and A. Zavarelli books, and this book with both of them did not disappoint. That is until I got to the end and the cliff-hanger. They are very evil in the way that they leave you hanging with this story. I can’t wait for the next book! These characters are great! Lev is dark, dangerous, and very sexy. Kat is naïve, alone, and very scared of Lev and what he may do to her when he catches up to her. I give this story a 5-star review and whole heartedly recommend it to readers who enjoy Mafia romance or dark dangerous families that have a long reach. Levka’s family is very dangerous and very unpredictable. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Review of Lock (Sinister Fairy Tale Collection) by Kimberly Knight #TuesdayBookBlog @author_kknight #sinisterfairytalescollection #darkfairytaleretelling

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5

A beautiful young girl locked away in a New York City Penthouse. She knows nothing of the outside world other than what she is able to read in books, but they are fiction.

Zell lives a sheltered life. She believes it’s because her mother wants to keep her safe, even though her mother doesn’t treat as a mother should. She believes that it’s because the world is not a bright place but can be dark and dangerous. Little does she know that it’s because the people around her are the dark and dangerous ones in the world.

Frankie Russo was born into the world of darkness and can’t wait to get out and away from it and his father. He has a plan, but that isn’t going to go the way he is planning it to. One night and the meeting of a young beautiful girl will change his life and his plan. Frankie knows the difference between right and wrong and his moral code won’t allow him to follow in his father’s shoes.

This was a story of twists, surprises, and suspense. The characters are interesting, naïve, and kept in the dark for most of the book. When they connect and find out the darkness and deception of Frank Russo Senior, their combined efforts will reveal their strength and power and allow them to take action to make a better life for themselves. I enjoy Kimberly Knight’s writing and her books always seem to pull me in keep a hold on me until the very end. Lock is no exception. I do look forward to more in this series and I am looking forward to Deliverance, and Ricardo and Erin’s story. I give this story a 4.5-star review.

My Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5

These guys are adventurous, loyal, tough, dangerous and possessive of their women.

Boy Riley is an extreme sports star who can just about any stunt he is asked to do. He is also good friends with the Linear Tactical guys. They have counted on his stunts to help them out in different situations around the world in their job of saving and rescuing people, protection, and training military and law enforcement in tactical situations. They are respected in their field and in the small town of Oak Creek, Wyoming. His best adventure was when he raced in the Wild Wyoming Adventure Race (WAR) and won the competition. It wasn’t his best adventure because he won though, it was because he met Girl Riley, the woman of his dreams. The only trouble is that one of the jobs he helps out with could be the death of him and Girl Riley.

Girl Riley is a nurse and lives in Oak Creek. She is part of the Linear Tactical Team family and is a giving, nurturing, and loving person. She is full of life and loves helping her friends and family as well as those that need medical help. She met the man of dreams while working the Wild Wyoming Adventure Race three years ago and they have been together since. Their relationship is heading for disaster though because Girl Riley received some bad news and she doesn’t want to keep Boy Riley locked down.

I love this series and each book seems to get better and better. This book dealt with some tough issues, but it was written so honestly and wonderfully. It showed how two people can share their lives, but still be afraid of how things can turn out and the commitment that life can take to be there for the people we love the most. It dealt with illness, death, and revenge, but the story had so much depth. I give it a 4.5-star review and would recommend it to readers who like tactical, adventure, tough life issues, or touching romances. It will draw you in and tug at your heart strings. Janie Crouch writes wonderful stories that are so hard to put down. I can’t wait for Baby’s story next.

Review of Tank (Reckoning MC Seer Book 2) by BE Kelly @kikilovesbooks @KLRamsey5

Tank teaser 3

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5

Tank is the President of the Reckoning MC and has never thought about having an Old Lady. That changed after he met Lyra and was tasked with protecting her and her daughter Delilah after Lyra’s sister was kidnapped because of their gift. Tank has his own demons to conquer and has never felt that he could weigh someone else down with his demons. Lyra has things that she has to come to terms with herself, and her lack of confidence doesn’t help her.

This story was just a good as the first book in the series Reaper, it was fast paced, suspenseful, and easy to read. I love the characters in this series, and I enjoy reading about their lives and the danger that lurks around each corner for them. The fact that the women in this series are the powerful ones is a huge draw for me. While the men are tough, dangerous, possessive, and protective, the women have their own power and that makes them equals to their men.

I give this story a 4.5-star review and recommend it to readers who enjoy MC, possessive, protective men, and women who can hold their own and stand beside their men when they are faced with danger. I look forward to more of the series and finding out what kind of trouble these characters find themselves in as the series goes on.

Excerpt
He grabs me by the throat and shoves me into the wall, causing the plasterboard to fall to the floor. Those black eyes penetrate me. His fingers tremble around my neck, and I know it’s because he wants to squeeze harder. It’s the first time I truly fear him; I see the man who was born into the world of crime and violence. I know he sees my fear, senses it the same way a predator does his prey. As his lips stretch into a wolfish smirk, he squeezes my neck tighter, cutting off my airways, showing me he has the power to end me right here in this shithole of a flat, the same place he sat and played video games with me. He’s telling me none of that matters, that I’m nothing to him.
Malachi turns so fast, releasing my neck. I gasp, trying so hard to pull in the oxygen my lungs burn for that I don’t have time to process what’s happening. That’s when I see the smooth metal of the gun he had hidden pushed hard against my dad’s temple.
So hard that a trickle of blood falls like a crimson tear.
“What are you doing?” I whisper, too terrified to even breathe or make the wrong move.
My heart stutters as he releases the safety catch, finger steady on the trigger.
“His payment will be paid!” With the gun to my father’s temple, he’s clearly telling me that if I don’t agree to his demands, he’s killing my father. He’s going to make me watch as he blows his brains across the tiny flat. Malachi knows what he is doing.
He’s pulling the strings, and now he’s going to watch me dance.
His decision is unwavering. There is no remorse in his eyes as his finger draws back, hand completely steady.
He is a monster.
Shutting my eyes against the pain, a tear escapes. I’m mourning the man I used to know, my freedom, and the girl I know will be changed forever with my answer.
“Take me.”

My Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5

A story full of suspense, strength, unconditional love, and twists.

Lilliana has lost one very important man in her life. Now she only has her father left and even though he’s not father of the year material, he’s still her father and she would do anything for him. Unfortunately for her, that’s about to be tested. There have been three men who have meant anything to Lilliana in her life, and she is about to be reunited with one of them. Too bad she hates him and wants nothing to do with him.

Malachi is the Prince of Darkness. He is dangerous, deadly, and has no soul, at least that’s what Lilliana believes. He is a man who does not let anyone see the real him. He’s actually a man in control of his destiny and will do anything for the one woman that means the world to him, little does she know that though. It will take a dangerous situation for her to realize that all that Malachi has been doing is trying to protect her.

I loved this story. The pages burned with the lives of Lilliana and Malachi, their lives are so different, but still connected. They are both strong people who love deeply and completely, when they let people into their lives. They will fight for what’s right and each other until they both realize that their lives are not complete without the other. I give this story a 4.5-star review and recommend it to readers who like Mafia, dark romance, strong women who are not afraid to stand up for themselves, or twisted romance. This was my first read of Raven Amor, but I am sure that it won’t be my last. I enjoyed this story and found her writing to pull me in and hang on to me throughout the book.
