Review of Vas (The V Games Book 3) by Ker Dukey and K Webster @KristiWebster @KerDukeyauthor

Vas

Vas doesn’t want to be like his father. He’s a Volkov, but he’s not a ruthless as his father and he doesn’t want to be. He’s lethal in his own right and has made a name for himself outside of the Volkov family. He’s a trainer and a fighter. He will train Alyona for Vlad Vasiliev for the V Games, even though he afraid that she won’t take his training seriously because they are good friends and she is the typical mafia princess.

Darya was taken from the convent and put into the hands of a cruel, sick, Yuri Vasiliev as his sex slave. She’s used and abused by Yuri, but she’ll get her revenge in the end. Vas will save and protect her from Yuri while falling in love with the quiet, naïve girl. They’ll also find out her lineage, which will help to protect her.

Alyona is a young mafia princess of one of The First Families, Voskoboynikov. She’s the youngest child of Iosif, her older brother, Artur was killed in the V Games by Diana Vetrov, and her brother Ivan is still bitter about Diana taking him out.

I liked this story and loved Darya. Her strength and her care about her new family and friends shows that Yuri may have been cruel to her, but he did not break her spirit. I give this story a 5-star review and look forward to more books in the V Games series, hopefully there’ll be more. I loved the ending of this one.

Review of Downswing (Lady Luck Part One) by J. J. Anatoliy @jjanatoliy

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 out of 5 shining stars!

Downswing

Holy dark, brutal, scary, suspenseful, angsty story! I love it!!

Emilia Fox is taken from her door step, drugged, and flown to Russia. A woman who had a decent life before she caught the eye of a very dangerous Russian Mafia Pakhan. She’s a bright shining young woman who is tortured and brutally kept by a man that she doesn’t know.

Korol – The King, is a man that is feared throughout the Russian Mafia, is a phantom in the underworld. To most he is a mild-mannered man who dresses impeccably and speaks in a smooth, quiet voice. However, when he is the Korol of the Mafia, he is a lethal man and he shows no mercy.

While Emilia is being held in Russia, she is introduced to a rag tag group of mafia members that are being held by Korol in his dungeon. These prisoners of Korol’s will be his downfall when Emilia gains their respect and admiration.

I absolutely love this story and want more! It’s dark, scary, brutal, and awesome. I need the next book in this series now! I need to know what will happen. Emilia is a scary woman, but she is also a woman who can fool anyone that she comes into contact with. I will never look at the song The Gambler the same again. I give this story 5 shining stars and recommend this book to any reader who likes suspense, dark, brutal, and angsty stories with a badass woman who can REALLY take care of herself.

My Review of Valor (Cavalieri Della Morte Series #11) by Measha Stone

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 bright stars out of 5

These men are so sexy, dangerous, and loyal to each other. They trust each other with their lives and the lives of the women who end up bringing them to their knees.

Dustan finds the woman who will bring him to his knees by mistake. While out on a job, he is approached by a woman who doesn’t look too sure of herself and doesn’t want the attention of the men the bar, so she thinks Dustan is the safe bet to sit by and start a conversation with. Little does she know he is probably the deadliest man in the whole bar.

Cherise “Cherry” wants to get out and make friends in Chicago. She’s been there for a year and spends most of her time sitting in her apartment and keeping to herself. After reading a book about coming out of her shell, she decides to go to the local bar. She doesn’t want to worry too much about the men coming onto her so she finds a man that looks like he doesn’t want to be bothered and sits next to him. This whole night will change her life in so many ways.

I loved Cherise and the determination she has as well as how she really does come out of her shell and be the strong, beautiful woman that should be. I love how Dustan helps her find that person and he doesn’t doubt her at any point, even when she doubts herself. They are a strong couple, and they each make the other stronger and better.

I give this story 5 bright stars. I love how the characters in this series show the same traits. Each couple brings out the best in the other and they are all stronger and better together. It has been a great series so far and I cannot wait for the other books in the series. I cannot recommend this story or this series enough. Everyone should one-click and read all of them. You won’t be disappointed.

Review of Vow of Sacrifice (Vow Series #5) by Emma Renshaw @GiveMeBooksPR and @authoremmaren

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Iris had a good childhood she was raised by her grandmother and was happy even if they didn’t have money. She was loved and cared for. Then her world fell apart. Her grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and her world crashed. She thought she found someone to lover her and care for her again but found that she only put her life in danger. She was lucky to get out alive.

Callan has finally gotten away from the mafia and is trying to raise Brae without the danger in their lives. His new neighbor is noisy and annoying. Brae is a teenager who needs her sleep and isn’t getting it with their new neighbor, Iris. Callan meets Iris in a situation where they are both on edge, he’s protecting his sister and she’s afraid of everyone, so he puts her on edge when she opens her door for him.

Callan may have come from a dangerous life, but he’s really a gentle man who only wants to do right by his little sister and maybe have a normal life. Iris and Callan are great together, she finally learns what it’s like to be loved and cared for by a real man.

I love these two together and love how Iris’s sassiness and light finally comes out. I hope there are more to these guys because the characters are awesome in this series. I love these stories. These men are so tough and Alpha until their women come into their lives and show them how to be the men they are supposed to be.

I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend this book as well as all of the books in the series. These men and some of the women have secrets, but once you’re accepted into their group you will never get away from them. They all protect, love and care fiercely for those in their group.

Author Bio:
All I am a British author, from the depths of the rural countryside near London. In a previous life, I was an accountant from the age of twenty-one. I still do that on occasions, but most of my life is now spent intermingling writing while looking after my husband, two children and two cats (probably in the inverse order to the one listed!). When I have some spare time, I can also be found writing poetry, baking cakes (and eating them), or behind a camera snapping like a mad paparazzi.
I’m an avid reader who turned to writing to combat my depression and anxiety. I have a love of traveling and like to bring this to my stories to give them the air of reality.
I like my heroes hot and hunky with a dirty mouth, my heroines demure but with spunk, and my books full of dramatic suspense.

ARC Review of Redemption (Cavalieri Della Morte) by Anna Edwards

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Another great story in the Cavalieri Della Morte. Another man who is not who he appears to be just because he is a killer. Gawain is another man who has come from a troubled youth and has found a way to overcome his past, to a point. He still has remorse for what he did when he was a teen, but in this story, he’ll get his redemption.

Megan is ripped from her life and held in hell for two years before she will find her HEA. Two years of abuse and torture have Megan finding it hard to find a new normal. It takes a little time, but she will learn to trust Gawain and feel safe and protected with him.

I loved Gawain’s story of finding and falling for a woman who makes his life whole and helps him find his redemption for his past. He will go through some tough times, but he’ll come out lighter and happier in the end.

I give this story a 5-star review and cannot recommend this story or the others in the series enough. While these stories are brutal, scary, and dark, the soft side of the men of the Cavalieri is something that you really need to read about. The men on the covers of the books are very sexy too, all of them!

Review of Second Sight (Away From Keyboard Collection, Book #4) by Patricia D. Eddy @patriciadeddy @HiddenGemsBooks

Second Sight

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5

After being rescued by his team mate and best friend from Hell, Dax Holloway is still living that Hell, but he also runs a security and protection company. It’s been six years since he was rescued, but the torture he went through in the hands of the enemy while serving his country changed his life forever. He will never be the same man again. He doesn’t feel whole anymore, but his company does well and the team he has around him are all ex-military or CIA. When a woman comes to them for protection, he doesn’t know why she sounds upset with him. His friend and second in command, Ford, tells him that Evianna has no idea of his disability and was upset that she thought he was dismissive of her fears.

Evianna Archer is a woman who holds a powerful position in a tech company, and she has to fight constantly to get the respect she deserves for her position as well as for her abilities. She needs protection because someone is threatening her. She is amenable to the plan that Second Sight has to keep her safe and protect her, as well as find out who is threatening her.

When Ford Lawton, Dax’s second in command gets a phone call about a situation concerning someone important to him, he will have to hand the job of protecting Evianna over to Dax. Since they are shorthanded currently, Dax will have to get back into the field. He’s not sure of his abilities to keep Evianna safe anymore.

The suspense, twists, and strength in this story are why I gave this story a 4.5-star review. While Dax didn’t think he would be able to protect Evianna, they worked together and were able to keep safe and get away from the danger. When Evianna shows Dax that he is so much more than he thinks, they both become stronger. Dax finds that he is more even with his disability and finds a way to accept who he is. I love the characters and the story line. Dax has a lot to overcome in this story, but with the help of his friends and Evianna he finds a way to move on with his life and be a new man.

ARC Review of In the Crossfire (Circle of Justice #4) by L. P. Dover @GiveMeBooksPR and @LPDover #TuesdayBookBlog

47599-in2bthe2bcrossfire2bteaser2b2

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 out of 5

Bryce Chandler, FBI agent, member of the Circle of Justice, twin brother to Ian Chandler, and a man who has no problem putting himself in harm’s way to rid the world of the scum that get away with their crimes for some reason or other due to our justice system. He is the only man for the job when one of the men on the list for the Circle of Justice to eliminate is a mob boss. It’s hard to get close to these men and he has the demeanor and the plan to do it. However, his plans will be compromised when he meets Layla, the mob boss’s daughter.

Layla Corsino is a lawyer and the daughter of a ruthless mob boss who has no barriers when it comes to destroying his enemies. She’s nothing like her father and her innocence is refreshing to Bryce, but is it real? She’ll become a pawn in her father’s plans to get to the top and rule. Can Bryce help her, can he save her from being in the middle of her father’s plans?

I’ve read the other three books in this series and have loved them, but I think I have to say that this one was my favorite. It has just the right amount of suspense, tension, and twists that I hated to have it end. Bryce is not a joker like his twin brother Ian, but he knows how to let loose and enjoy life some as well. He may be the one who is serious and always working, but after meeting and getting to know Layla, he is softer and more down to earth. I love how they both seemed to bring out the best in each other. The men in the Circle of Justice are lethal killers who take out the people that most deserve to be removed from this earth. They aren’t killers like serial killers, but they also will tell you that they enjoy what they do.

I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend the Circle of Justice Series to readers who enjoy, mafia, romantic suspense, and stories of righting the wrongs in the world. I look forward to Reed’s story, hopefully in the near future.

Review of Missing in Action (Task Force 779, Book 1) by K. L. Donn @rrrpromotion @readreviewrpt @author_kldonn #TuesdayBookBlog

Young female legs walking towards the sunset on a dirt road

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

A steamy, sexy, heartbreaking, and beautiful story.

Ryder Morrison is a man who has been to hell and back. He was held in captivity while serving his country and left for dead. He’s loyal, tech savvy, scarred, and determined. He’s anxious to get back to work after recovering from his ordeal but is he ready to go back into the field and face the dangers he’ll be thrust into again? After finally meeting his reclusive neighbor one night, in the middle of the night, his life could take a big turn, but will it be for the good or bad?

Codie Ray is a woman who lives for her fears after a tragedy that left her scarred on the inside. She doesn’t talk to anyone other than the people to make deliveries to her for work or groceries, she doesn’t leave her house, nor does she ever go outside of her house. One incident that will scare her more than she already is will change her life forever. She wants someone to lover her and she would really like to be a normal person, but she can’t see that ever happening.

Being someone who has felt the pain of loss like Codie, I could so empathize with her. I felt her pain and her loss. The loss that she had to deal with is awful and not an easy thing to overcome at times. This story was so beautifully written, and I loved how Ryder was able to help Codie be the person she was meant to be and find her place in the world. It is amazing how love can heal and help us in our darkest times. Two broken people who find each other and are able to become whole again. Make sure you have tissues handy when reading this story. I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend it to readers who like to read stories about military, suspense, dangerous men, and just beautiful love stories. I look forward to more stories in this series and reading about the women who will bring these men down a notch.

ARC Review – Nine (Count to Ten Series) by Jane Blythe @GiveMeBooksPR and @jblytheauthor

fd491-rb2bbanner

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5

A past case past will come back to haunt Paige Hood and Ryan Xander. The detectives who are working a case of a teenage girl who was abducted and held for a specific amount of time before she was murdered and placed where her parents would find her. The detectives will rack their brains looking for the serial killer and their lives could change forever due to this case.

I have come to love the families in the Count to Ten series. They are a close-knit family of both blood and non-blood related. The detectives and their families are so close you would think they were all blood related, but it’s the closeness and fierce loyalty to each other that tightens that bond.

Sophie Xander’s life changed a few months back when she found out that she was adopted and that her birth parents were not the best of society. She’s so upset with her parents for keeping this a secret for so long that she lashes out and disrespects them. Ryan and Sophia, Sophie’s adoptive parents, are patient with her for as long as they can be, but something has to give soon, or they could lose their little girl forever.

This series is full of twists, turns, suspense, and danger. They have brutal crimes but they are written so well that once I start reading them I lose track of time and hate to put it down, I give this book a 4.5-star review and I am anxiously awaiting the next book in the Count to Ten Series. They always keep me wishing for more. I am a little afraid of the next one though too because it is Ten.

Review of Guts & Glory: Mercy (In the Shadows Security, Book 1) by Jeanne St. James @LWoodsPR

MERCY_Teaser2

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Wow talk about a man who is scary, Alpha, broken, and in need of love! Mercy is a man who is lost, scarred, deep, and in need of a woman who can see beyond all of that. He is ex-military and has the scars, both inside and out from his service. He has found his place outside of the military working with a group of men who were all special forces in different branches of the service, at a security company run by a man who is the sergeant at arms in an MC. The job that Mercy is assigned is not his idea of a fun time, babysitting a rich, spoiled woman who doesn’t know when to shut up.

Parris has to leave Vegas and she is not happy about it. Little does she know that her life is in more danger than she is aware of. Her friendship with a man who owns several casinos could her life to end, especially after what she has witnessed. She is unaware of the danger lurking about Michael, her best friend who has hired an elite security company to get her out of Vegas and keep her safe and alive.

I really like this story and the characters were great. The men on Mercy’s team are a mix of fun, flirtatious, lethal, serious, and very dangerous. I love how Mercy instantly gives Parris a nick name and that she is a therapist. It was such a great twist to the story, but it also made the story better. The ease in which she can talk about her work was great and the reaction from the men on Mercy’s team was perfect. I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend it to readers who enjoy reading stories about MC’s, ex- military, dangerous, or scarred men finding the love they feel they’ll never find.  Such a sexy cover too! I am so looking forward to Ryder’s story next.
