Wow! Talk about dark and twisted. This book is full of it.

Ellison is a young woman who lives in her head and needs to find a place where she is safe and protected. She falls down the rabbit hole and finds that safety in her mind.

This story was so dark, twisted, and awesome to read. I would love more of it to find out what will happen to Ellison. She’s a broken girl who needs someone in her corner to pull her out of the darkness and give her life that she can live and thrive in. This was my first read of Kailee Reese Samuels, but I bought another one of her books right after finishing this one. I give this story a 5-star review and I cannot stress enough that you should one-click this book and the others in the Sinister Fairy Tales to read. They are not your ordinary fairy tales.

ARC Review:Off Limits (Kings of Mayhem #5) by Penny Dee @GiveMeBooksPR

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5
I loved Ruger and Chastity’s story. It is a great story of two people who find each other when they are really not looking, but stumble into a relationship after a lot of denial.

Ruger is the Sgt. At Arms of the Kings of Mayhem and the brother in-law/best friend of the President, Bull. Even though Bull lost his wife these two are still very close. The relationship between Ruger and Chastity could end that friendship or Ruger’s life, but he doesn’t care, he’s all in with Chastity and knows she is his Queen.

Chastity Calley is the baby of the Calley family, the Kings of Mayhem Princess, if you will. Her father was the President, and one of her brothers is the Vice President. She is only 22 but she knows what she wants, and she is a strong headed young woman, so any arguments she may get from her Uncle Bull or her three older, alpha brothers will just fall on deaf ears. She is in love with Ruger and she will not follow any-one else’s orders.

This story was steamy, angsty and great. The build up to the relationship was angsty and once they got together the steam just flowed. The Kings of Mayhem are a family and they all take care of each other, even if they are mad at each other. The men are rough, Alpha, loyal, and treat their women as the Queens they should be. I give this story a 5-star review and suggest to reader who like MC, Alpha bikers, and strong women, you really need to one-click this book and the entire series to read. I always fall into these books because the characters are so likeable and fun to read about. They are such an awesome group of characters and I always feel like they are friends. I would love to be friends with these guys.

Review of Guts & Glory: Walker (In the Shadows Security) by Jeanne St. James @JeanneStJames

Walker

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

These guys are lethal, powerful, loyal, and very sexy!

Trace Walker only had one love in his life, and she dumped him almost nineteen years ago. He doesn’t need a woman in his life, but it would be nice to have the right one to come home to each night or after a mission. When his phone rings and he realizes that his past is calling, he decides that he will help her get out of the trouble she is currently in and then send her on her way again.

Ellie Cooke was made for Trace and he once vowed that he would do anything to protect her and love her forever. She was so afraid that history would repeat itself that she gave up the man that held her heart. She made a choice years ago to marry someone else and that will come back to haunt her and may get her killed. Her only hope is that Trace and his fellow Shadow Security team can help her and save her life.

I loved this story. All of the In the Shadow Security books are great. The men in them are very Alpha and lethal. They are determined to protect their family and are dangerous in their jobs. They are not to be messed with and this story shows that they will go to any extent to protect the ones they love and anyone they care about. These guys work very well together in their job and they act like brothers when they get together and begin picking on each other. The comradery of the Shadows makes me love these books more. I give this book a 5-star review and strongly suggest that you one-click it and all the others and devour them.

The Satan’s Knights are changing the way they do things and Jack Parrish doesn’t want it to happen. He’s still the same man and he his mind is still all over the place.

Bishop is determined to do right by his 5-year-old son, and he’ll do anything to protect him and make him feel safe. Unfortunately, luck is not on his side. He’s still making bad decisions and is not in a position to do it on his own, but his previous cell mate, Blackie, has asked Jack Parrish to help Bishop, and he ends up with a large team stepping in and helping him and Connor, his son.

Charlotte has recently graduated from Law school and has been hired by the top law firm in New York. Her first day may be her last, that is until Jack Parrish shows up and she finds the confidence to stand up and offer her help, putting her boss in a situation where he has to keep her on. Charlotte’s interest in Bishop’s case may be for all the wrong reasons, but the end result could be what she’s been looking for.

I love the Satan’s Knights series and the new Prospect Trilogy is shaping up to be a great series. The characters in the Satan’s Knights series are great characters. The Satan’s Knights family will do anything for their family and if you are lucky enough to be taken in by them you will always have a family and someone to have your back all the time. They are loyal, lethal, and oh so Alpha. If you like MC stories you definitely read the Satan Knights series and the Prospect Trilogy as well. They are full of steam, suspense, and includes corrupt prison guards.

Sol is a man whose past has created the man he has become. He is lethal, dark, and deadly. He will find his light while he is on a job that will get him vengeance for the loss he suffered as a young boy. He has a group of men around him that will stand beside him and kill for him, but are they all who they seem to be?

Moira is a young woman who has not seen kindness in her young life. Her mother abuses her and her father and brothers do nothing to help her or protect her. She is the oldest child, but she is also the black sheep of the family in their eyes. She is strong, deadly, ruthless and she is the light to Sol’s dark.

I liked this story and found the twists and suspense to pull me into the story. The story flowed so well, and it was action packed. The characters were all different and surprising in some ways. The darkness and the kindness of some of the characters were what made the story interesting. I have been enjoying the retelling of the tales in a dark and sinister way in The Sinister Fairy Tales collection. If you like stories with strong women, dark men, and deadly characters, you will love these books. I give this story a 4.5-star review and suggest you one-click it as soon as possible. It’s a fairly quick read and once you start reading it you may not want to put it down until the end.

Ex-Assistant DA Brody Harcourt is a man living on borrowed time. He is being hunted and targeted, but he is also playing a dangerous game of deceit with is boss, a dangerous man in his own right. His boss is Valetin Carrera the head of the Carrera Cartel. Brody is a Lieutenant in the Cartel running the business in Houston, Texas. The only thing is that he’s working behind his boss’ back and it may get him killed. He doesn’t have anything to live for though, so what does it matter.

Adriana Carrera has had her world tipped upside down and is trying to find her way in the world now. Brody is the reason for her world being tipped and she is determined to make him pay for that. First, she has to keep herself alive and find the man who has threatened her new life and her long-lost brother. It is twisted world she has been living in and the truth could destroy her and her family that she lost when she was a baby.

I really enjoyed this story. There were so many twists and so much deception going on, but it kept the pages turning. I had not read the first two books in the series, but I was not lost in this story as it covers the past enough to let you know what is going on. I did purchase the other two books prior to this one though so that I can understand the whole story. I’ve only read Blurred Red Lines so far, but I loved it as much as I did this one. I give this story a 4.5-star review and suggest that you buy this book and read it if you are a fan of Cartel, suspense, or stories with strong women who can hold their own with the deadly men they align themselves with.

ARC Review of : I Like the Way You Hurt by Lorrain Allen @SDSXXTours @AuthorLAllen #TuesdayBookBlog

Cocoa is a senior in high school living in Los Angeles. She’s biracial and living with her mother who has been dating Matthew, from West Virginia. Cocoa’s world will be turned upside down when her mother accepts the proposal from Matthew, and they move to West Virginia before Cocoa starts her senior year of high school.

Maverick is a senior who rules the high school that Cocoa will attend for her senior year. His father is a well-respected judge in their small town. Little do the towns people know his real father. The man is pure evil and has made Maverick’s life a living hell. He doesn’t know the meaning of love or kindness. His two best friends are the only people who know what Maverick’s life has been like and the real father that has raised him.

The first few chapters were hard for me to get through. I’m not a fan of bullies but as I got through the chapters the story got better for me. I am a fan of dark romance books though and this book has that as well. Once I got into the book it was easier to read and I liked it. I found the change in Maverick to be refreshing and the fact that he got away from his hometown to find the better man that he could be was good. If you like young adult romance, bully, or dark romance, you should pick up this book. I give it a 3.5-star review.

Review of Echo (Linear Tactical Series Book 7) by Janie Crouch @janiecrouch

Echo

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 out of 5

I loved this second chance romance.

Cade O’Connor is Oak Creek’s hometown celebrity. His family is well known in Oak Creek, but his own celebrity status came from his own talent. A silent investor/partner of Linear Tactical has given him a family of friends who will stand behind him and do anything for him.

Peyton Ward was young when she first met Cade. She had a secret then that Cade kept close for her. Five years later, Cade learns of another secret and this one is huge. Will these two find a way to over come their past and move forward with the future they both deserve and want?

This story was full of danger, betrayal, suspense and the desire for a chance at real happiness. It kept me wondering, guessing, and at the edge throughout. It was perfectly paced with danger and suspense and I loved every page of this book. I give it 5-bright stars and encourage you to buy and read this book as well as the entire series. Each book just gets better.

Review of: Linear Tactical Series Box Set 2, by Janie Crouch @janiecrouch

Linear 2

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 out of 5

WOW!! I loved each book in this series and they just kept getting better with each book.

Angel is a great story. I loved watching Jordan’s true self finally come to light with Gabe’s love and care for her. His guidance and bulldozing for her was great to read, sometimes it takes others to help show us our true worth in this world, and Gabriel did that for Jordan. I loved it.

Ghost was a tragically beautiful story. Dorian and Grace’s (Ray) story was full of tension, action, suspense and a beautiful story of two broken souls coming back together. These two deserve a happy ending with healing and the love of their Linear Tactical family can help them find that. Dorian has always been my favorite character in this series. His lone wolf character and attention to detail as well as his intensity drew me to him, and his story just carried that through. I still love him, and I hope he and will be in more of the series as it continues.

Shadow, wow! His story started out with a great intensity and ended with a sweet story. I loved it. Heath’s need to get answers drove him for so long. His unexpected help is what settled him. It seems that it’s always when you decide to stop looking that things become clearer and answer start coming to you from the least likely place.

I thought Ghost was my favorite because I had been waiting for Dorian’s story, but then I read Shadow and then Echo (see my review for Echo). I read all four books in a week and had such a Linear Tactical hangover I wasn’t what to read next. I pre-ordered Phoenix and Baby, but I wish I didn’t have to wait so long for them to come out. I give each of these books as well as the box set a 5-bright star review and encourage you to buy the series and read it! I hope you like it as much as I did! If there were a larger scale, I would give higher.

Father Amadeo Decosta wants revenge on Massimo Tomassi and will go to any extent to get it. His younger brother Valentino Decosta knows that his brother feels this is the only way to get peace, but he’s not so sure it’s a good idea. His problem is that he’s always looked up to his brother and will stand by him, but only to an extent.

Carlotta Tomassi is daddy’s little princess. Massimo Tomassi rules Malborne as the Mafia Kingpin, but he doesn’t get his hands dirty, he has others do it for him. He’s ruthless and very dangerous. Carlotta is his only child and he’s very strict with her, but she sneaks out as often as possible with her best friend until the night she doesn’t find her way back home.

A dark, twisted, taboo, steamy story of two brothers who fall in love with an off-limits young woman. I love a dark twisted story and this one definitely delivered. I devoured it in one day and loved every chapter I read. I give this book a 4.5-star review and suggest you one-click it if you are a lover of dark, twisted, mafia and taboo stories.
