Micah scooped me up in his arms, carried me to the bed and gently placed me on the mattress. I could still see the ticking in his jaw. He sat down beside me on the edge of the bed and sighed.
“First of all, do not apologize for your sass. I love it. Second, don’t ever apologize for speaking your mind or standing up for yourself or for demanding answers. Third, I hope to God that you weren’t suggesting that you have to pay me for my kindness with sexual favors. I don’t work like that. I’m not going to lie and say that I don’t like a good fuck, because I do. I am a man after all. But I have never forced a woman to do something she doesn’t want to do and I sure as shit ain’t starting now. I can tell that you haven’t had good experiences where the male species are concerned, but sweetness, I’m going to show you that not all men are snakes.” Micah breathed in deeply through his nose and then released it through his mouth.
“I’m sor—”
“If you say you’re sorry one more time, we’re going to have issues, you and me. The last thing I want to tell you before I get Doc back in here to check your wounds, is this. You are welcome here in the main house for as long as you need to be here. Shit, you’re welcome anywhere on this property. You will be protected, and no one will hurt you. The BRB will do whatever is necessary to ensure that. Now, do you think you will be okay in here for a few minutes while I get Doc? You won’t try to run again?”
All I could do was nod. He’d said a lot in the past few minutes and I tried to take it all in. He couldn’t be real. As I watched him stand up and walk to the door, a thought occurred to me.
“Wait!”
“What, sweetness?” Micah looked over his shoulder at me, eyebrows raised.
“What’s the BRB?”
“Sweetness, the BRB is your family now. We’re the Broken Rebel Brotherhood.”

My 5-Star Review:

A different kind of MC story that was dark, had some twists and a great story. I loved the story, plot, and characters in this story and cannot wait for the next book to come out. This was the first in a new series about a group of retired Navy SEALs who were looking for a new mission in the civilian world. They took a needed break after leaving the SEALs and their final mission that went the wrong way, but then they all came back together and started the Broken Rebel Brotherhood, an MC that works with the law, but in their own way to help those in need. If they need protection, they have it.

Sadie is at the end of her rope with her husband, she needs to get away from him or she will not see the light of the next day. With the last of her strength, she runs to save her life. However, she may end her own life when she blacks out while driving.

Micah is damaged after his final mission while serving as a SEAL and leading his team into a situation that they are all reeling from. They all have a new mission in life and are needed in their small town. They still have their demons, but their new mission in life will help a lot of people and they are able to skirt the law to save the victims that they come across. Micah is looking for more in his life but he’s afraid that his demons from his last mission as a SEAL will prevent him from finding someone to share his life with. When he happens on the car that is in the field, and finds the redhead unconscious in the front seat, something shifts inside him.

The members of the Broken Rebel Brotherhood MC are loyal to each other, tough, and are all like family. I give this book a 5-star review and look forward to the next book in the series to find out what happens next. The suspense at the end of this book left me wanting the next book right now. If you are a reader who loves MC stories, but with a twist, you will not want to pass this book up.

Holy dark, depraved, twisted, and awesome!

Drake is a twisted biker who has a blood lust and his entire focus on one woman. The VP of the Royal Bastards MC main chapter. His darkness is focused on taking down the scum in Savannah, GA.

This story was dark, twisted, depraved, and a really good read. I read it in a day. His single focus on Evie, the wife of a rival MC, is a mix between a distraction and a focus on his monster side. His childhood made him dark and depraved. Once he has Evie his plans for her change and other plans are hatched.

I give this story a 5-star review and cannot wait for the next book in Royal Bastards MC. If you like MC, dark romance, twisted stories, you will definitely want to one-click this book and read it. I devoured it as soon as I had it in my hands.

Another great story in the Sinister Fairy Tales Collection. A twist on a fairy tale with its own twists and turns that kept the pages turning while I was reading it.

Davina is a siren and the youngest daughter, she’s strong headed, curious, and loyal to her sisters. She gives up so much to keep them safe. She may be the youngest, but she carries a lot of power with her sisters. They fight like sisters, but they are fiercely protective of each other.

Dagan the oldest son of a Viking leader who is sent on a secret mission by his father. He’s told it will help to save his people and protect them from the Highlanders. He is not aware that he is just a pawn in a larger picture. A loyal son and Viking, he will not divulge any information that might ruin his mission, but he has to get free of his prison and attain what he came for so that he can return to his people. The redheaded siren that has distracted him though is wreaking havoc on his mind.

Tobias a pirate that saved Davina and two of her sisters and has vowed to protect them and their secret for life. Another pawn in a larger picture to be used against the one person he is in love with and has vowed to protect. He’s been looking for his long-lost brother forever, but he keeps missing him at port.

A siren, a pirate, a Viking, and a sea witch that are all connected and will fight for what they believe to be their truth and their family. I loved this story and the twists and turns that were in it. There were so many surprises and a dark, sinister story that was hard to put down once I started reading it. I give this story a 5-star review and cannot wait for the next book in the collection.

“Well, uh, I mean, I hate the idea of a guest sleeping on my couch.”
“Woman, that couch probably cost more than any bed I’ve owned. For a couch, it was more comfortable than my bed at the compound.”
I crossed my arms. “I should have been on it, not you.”
That odd look from this morning came back. “I’m in your bed, you’re in it with me.”
“You are not to be believed,” I muttered.
“Why’s that?”
“I saw you with that woman at Liar’s.”
His face hardened. “You mean Steph?”
I nodded because I didn’t trust my voice not to betray me.
“She’s an employee, Janie. Yak invited her to that thing. Followed her onto Liar’s street. Could tell she wasn’t sure which house would be his, so I rode next to her.”
“I see,” I murmured.

Janie has grown and changed over the years since her marriage to Trent and her goals are no longer lining up with Trent’s goals as public figure. She wants more out of life than dressing and acting like the perfect wife. She’s seen as a woman who lives the high life and wants and needs the best of everything out of life, but she is just a woman who wants to live her life on her own terms and in order to do that, she will need to divorce Trent and find her way on her own, but will she really need to do it all on her own?

Beast has moved from Biloxi to Jacksonville to start over. It’s too painful for him to stay in Biloxi without Katherine being in his life. He needed a fresh start and to stay away from women for a while, but the woman that he caught coming out of Andrea’s studio is hard to forget and to stay away from. He’s drawn to her and he doesn’t stand a chance of staying away.

I really enjoyed this story. The story is intertwined with Foolish Riot and takes place at the same time in some spots. The characters are fun to read and easily likable, most of them anyways. I really like the Riot guys and their girls. I give this story a 3.5-star review and highly recommend it to MC readers. It has action, political deception, sexy Alpha’s, and sassy, brassy women who keep their men on their toes and take no crap from the men in their lives. I look forward to the next book in the series to come out, Starting the Riot, in 2020.

 

ARC Review of Jagger: Heaven Hill Shorts #5 @LaramieBriscoe

I loved this story! It shows the other side of betrayal and the repercussions of it on those that are left behind to deal with the deception. Jagger feels that he is the only one who has not come to terms with what Travis did to the family and he feels that the rest of the family and MC are not happy with him because he doesn’t see the betrayal or death of Travis as being a good thing. Little does he know that he’s not the only one struggling with what happened that day.

I loved that this story was written just like Christine’s story. All of these characters are dealing with their own demons after Travis betrayed the MC, but Jagger’s morals as well as his regret for not seeing problems before they got out of hand are causing problems with is marriage as well as his relationship with the MC family, and if he doesn’t figure things out soon he could lose the love of his life and his brothers. It’s a good thing that he finds his way and figures things out and is able to regain his family. I give this short story a 4.5-star review and suggest that you read this short story as well as the Heaven Hill series.

Foster Halsey is a man who has been burned and just wants to live life and stay single. After coming home from his deployment and getting a divorce, he is recruited to the Task Force 779 elite team. His life is now filled with missions that are decided by the President of the United States and his team takes on the cases that are the most dangerous, could impact the US, and are of the most secretive subjects at times. This rescue mission was a tough one, but the woman he found in that room brought out his protective instincts in full force. He willingly stands up to a man that thinks he has all the power, but in reality, he’s a nobody.

Everett Gaines wants to get away from her life after she graduates from college and finds that her life as she knew it is not real. She wants answers, but she’s afraid that she won’t get the answers she wants or deserves. Could her whole life have been a lie? Her “father” was never around, nor did he really seem to be interested in her while she was growing up. While she gets away from everything for a little while, she finds herself in a situation that may kill her. If it weren’t for Task Force 779 rescuing her, that might have been the case. She’s back home and too afraid to live on her own anymore, so she moved back in with her mom. The only man that she feels safe with and that can get anywhere near her is one of the men that put his life on the line to save her, Foster Halsey. She feels awful that Foster and his teammate put themselves in harm’s way to saver her.

I loved this story. It was tragic, suspenseful, full of action, twists and turns, and some sexy men who are honorable, loyal, and very Alpha. I give this story a 5-star review and cannot wait for more in the series. If you are a reader and lover of military, suspense, or sexy Alpha’s you will love this story and the series, and I highly recommend it.

Elizabeth (Beth; Lizzy) has a special ability, but she is very selective with who she shares it with. Most people don’t believe her when she does share it, but when she shares her ability with the one man that she has been dreaming about for years, it takes a while before he believes her ability. She comes from a long line of them on her father’s side. Her mother didn’t believe in it and threatened to keep her from her grandmother who shared it with her.

Reaper is a man who is in need of help to get his life back as well as his sister back. The business that his father built is in danger of being taken from him by his father’s old business partner and best friend. However, he has no plans to keep the business as it once was since he has branched out and is now using the business for nefarious business. His only hope is to involve the authorities to help bring down Anthony Sr. He believes that Anthony Jr is involved in his father’s business and plans to take him down as well.

I enjoyed the story and the plot was interesting and full of suspense. Reaper and Lizzy’s story is entertaining, electrified, and easy to read. These two are so intertwined in their lives and are destined to find each other. Their story has heat, suspense, and characters that are easy to like, and I am looking forward to the next story in the series. I give this story a 3.5-star review and recommend it to readers who enjoy MC or paranormal stories.

A story full of twists and turns, retribution, crime and reincarnation. Intriguing, suspenseful, and very well written.

This story is written like there are multiple stories happening, but they are all interconnected and so well done. The story of a man and woman who are in love and happy in their life together that go through a war and lose their lives, only to find each other again in a different life. This book intrigued me and had me reaching into my mind to see if I could find anything similar. I have always wondered about life after death and reincarnation and this book opened my mind to the possibility of both.

The story is well written, and the poetry included was a nice touch to this book. I give this book a 4.5-star review and suggest it to readers who enjoy crime, supernatural, or detective stories. Open your mind and read this book, I really believe you will enjoy it. It’s written by a retired police detective and his knowledge and storytelling pull you into the story.

The story of coming home and finding what was in front of you all along. Jessie Knutson grew up around a garage and can change a tire or the oil in a car just as well as her brothers or her father. She decides that she needs to travel around though and not keep her roots in one place. After her father’s health takes a hit, she has decided to go home and stick around until her father is better and back on his feet. However, on her way to a meeting she ends up with a flat tire and since she is wearing a skirt and heels, she waits to see if someone will stop and help her rather than change her clothes and do it herself. When a tow truck comes by and stops, she is happy because she has someone to help her and an added bonus, he’s easy on the eyes as well.

Bernard (BJ) Spencer Jr grew up around garage also, now he owns a garage and is opening a parts store. The woman broke down along the road on his way fishing reroutes his day. There is electricity between these two. Jessie doesn’t want to go home; she’d rather stay with BJ and enjoy her night. BJ has been burned before and now he doesn’t want to give his heart to anyone. However, spending a weekend with Jessie begins to thaw his heart.

I really enjoyed this story. Ms. Ring writes steamy, sexy, well rounded characters that pull me into the pages. BJ and Jessie were a fun couple to read. These two aren’t aware of it yet, but they have a bit of a history and Jessie is the woman of BJ’s young teen dreams. I gave this story 4-stars and strongly suggest that you go one-click this book and read it.

A twisted, demented, dark story with a HEA.

Ink is determined to get retribution for Neon, and no one will change his mind about it. He already has Slither in a secret hide away and he’s not going to give up his chance to give Neon the peace of mind she needs to heal. He will wait for Neon forever if he has to. He knows that she is the one for him and no one else will ever fit for him.

Neon is still keeping Ink at arms-length and she is still determined to keep away from him. She is healing physically, but mentally she is still reeling. The determination of Ink to break through her wall is starting to wear her down. Once she lets him in, there’s no going back for either of them.

This story shows such a dark side to the American Street Kings, but it also shows the loyalty these guys have to each other and to those that they love and consider their family. Even with the threat of retribution from Crow, and the Gods of Six, for taking Slither’s life and keeping him hidden from Crow, the American Street Kings all knew that they needed the revenge for Neon. This book was not only dark, it was sad too. I am hoping that there will be more books for the characters in this book. I would love to know what happens with Manic and the Sixes. I give this story a 5-star review and suggest that if you like MC romance that are dark and twisted, you should pick up this book and the others in the American Street Kings series and read them.
