⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5
Mia was told that she would not be forced to marry a man that she didn’t love, nor would she have to marry to join families to keep the peace. After her sister disappears and is declared dead, Mia has is told that she will now marry her sister’s fiancé, Alessio. She wants nothing to do with Alessio or staying in the mafia family, even though she has always felt something different when she was around Alessio.
Alessio was not born into the mafia, but that does not keep him from climbing to second in command in the Costa family mafia. He has no problem marrying the little sister to his previous fiancé Carmen. He knows that bringing to two families together and working with Nico to keep peace in their town is the best option.
I really enjoyed reading this book. However, I did get very frustrated with Alessio and Mia for their lack of communication and jumping to conclusions. It almost destroyed their relationship. I enjoyed the suspense and twists in this story and wanted more. This was my first read of Vanessa Waltz, but it won’t be my last. I look forward to reading more. She does a great job with her story and she kept me drawn to the story throughout the whole book. I give this story a 4.5-star review and highly recommend it to readers who love arranged marriage, mafia, and a bit of darkness with their books.
