“So exquisitely titillating, full of hope and second chances, and so honest, this is Rachel Blaufeld’s best and swooniest romance yet! I LOVED it!”

Heart Stronger, an all-new emotional romance from Rachel Blaufeld is available now!

HeartStronger Full

“Sometimes, I feel like I’m watching a movie . . . that it’s not really me, Claire Richards, getting this second chance at life.”

“Open your eyes, it’s you, and I’m damn glad it’s with me.” ~ Aiken

Single mom and college professor Claire Richards only wanted a few hours of me time to soak in her tub, read a book, and drink wine.

But tragedy struck, and Claire found herself with a lot more me time than she bargained for.

Three years later, Claire is still mourning her losses when Aiken Fordham-who looks young enough to be one of her college students-moves in next door.

Forcing Claire to face her fears, Aiken almost forgets his reason for moving to Small Town, Pennsylvania. Falling for the sexy, smart, and strong professor next door was never in the plan.

But now it is . . . until their future intersects with their pasts.

The downpour stopped just as I did, soaked in rain and sweat. Rolling my neck, I took in my house. It was cute. Too cute for a single dude, but it was all fixed up, and I wasn’t in the mood for a renovation project.

I bent over to stretch, touching my toes, and before I could stand up, Smitty was at my feet, tail wagging, tongue lolling, begging to be petted.

“Smitty!” Claire came running out her front door, dark hair tied up in a messy bun, wearing tight black pants and a fitted green blouse. No shoes. She stopped in front of me, and I noticed her pink toes and tanned feet.

“Smitty, bad boy! You can’t leave the house.” She grabbed his collar and tugged him to her side.

“S’okay.” Wetness seeped into my eyes, and I swatted it away, making the burn worse. Squinting and blinking, I remained focused on the woman in front of me, and all woman she was. There wasn’t one girlish thing about my neighbor, and no-before you think it-I didn’t have mommy issues.

I had lean-muscular-legs and pouty-lips issues, both of which Claire had in earnest. Not to mention, I had a separate thing for independence after growing up around all these farming wives, who basically did all the heavy lifting for none of the credit. Then there was my dad, unable to move on, the epitome of lost.

“Don’t say that. He can’t be running out of the house.” Her breath was short at this point; she was almost panting. “He’s all I have.” It was a whisper of a sentence, but I heard it. Fuck it, I felt it. I got pain. Hated anyone else having to experience it.

She was eaten up with pain, but kept her head up-I could tell. I wanted to crack her veneers, let the pain ooze out, and see her smile in earnest.

Deep shit for a young guy, but I’d grown up fast. Like in the last forty-eight hours.

“I put my hand out to feel if it was still raining, and he bolted as soon as he saw you,” she continued to explain.

“Like I said, I’m cool with Smitty, but I get it. He can’t be escaping.”

“Thanks for understanding.” She stood, prim and proper, her gaze heavy on the concrete, clearly avoiding any direct eye contact.

“You okay, Claire? I’m sorry about last night.”

“I’m fine.” She turned back toward her house.

“Claire, listen, we got off to a bad start. Can we start over? Aiken Fordham, nice to meet you.” I held my hand out, flexing my bicep, waiting for her to return the favor.

“Claire Richards.” She took my hand, her smaller, dainty, and way smoother hand slipping into mine.

“Ugh. What do you want, Aiken? Look at you, shirtless, dripping from running in the rain.” Her hand whipped out of mine and began whisking up and down in the air, motioning at my very naked torso. “What could you possibly want from me? If you need an egg or a stick of butter, pop next door. Otherwise, let me be. I need to get out of here and beg Mary to give me a class full of students, probably not much older than you.” She alternated between eyeing me and her disobedient dog.

“You’re a beautiful woman, Claire,” I called, running up behind her. “And I’m a warm-blooded man, who’ll probably never have a need for a stick of butter. I’m a big boy. I know how to find a grocery store. All by myself too.”

She flung open her door and motioned Smitty inside. He stood at the screen door, staring us down with sad doggie eyes.

“Is there something wrong with getting to know my neighbor? I don’t know anyone here. Maybe you could be neighborly? Or are you so closed off you can’t do that? Because if so, that’s a damn shame,” I said through gritted teeth. Admittedly, I was more frustrated than I should have been. I was a man who desperately wanted the broken woman in front of me.

Cole Harrington is a gifted trauma surgeon with a cocky smile and a whole lot of swagger. Breaking hospital rules is his specialty. But after he smashes the thermostat in the operating room to smithereens, he’s assigned an executive coach to monitor his out-of-control behavior.

Alexa Petersen is a nice girl from Minnesota who’s been tasked with shadowing the naughty trauma surgeon and writing a report to end his promising career. While she might prefer pretty lace panties, Alexa’s not afraid to slip on a pair of steel-toed boots when Cole needs to be knocked down a notch or two.

Hospital drama and small-town woes, the truth obscured by secrets and lies, where nothing is as it appears—not even Cole and Alexa.

This is book 2 of The New American Royals. It was previously published as My Sweetest Sasha.

Irish Crown Teaser 1

I sighed, hugging the pillow closer and waiting with baited breath for him to come back to bed.

It was Sunday and I didn’t have to work today, so I kind of hoped he’d do that thing with his tongue again.

My body quivered and I bit my lower lip.

He sat on the edge of the mattress and without a single glance my way, he said, “Pet, I have shit to do.”

I tensed.

Then the daisy heads snapped off and the velvet petals shrivelled up in my belly.

Uh, what?

Suddenly, that hot raspy Irish accent didn’t sound so hot.

Okay, I wasn’t expecting a proposal or anything, not by a long shot, but I did expect a morning kiss and a possible number exchange for a possible second date. Or rather first date.

He didn’t even pretend like he’d call.

God, was I that naïve?

I sat up, taking the sheet with me. “Excuse me?”

He bent, picked up his cargo pants from the floor and tugged them on.

“I have shit to do, babe. I called a cab. It’ll be here any second.”

My heart slammed into my chest. He called me a cab? Was I supposed to think this was okay because he called me a cab?

Because it wasn’t. It totally wasn’t.

There was a brief honk outside.

Oh. My. God. When did he call me a cab? When he had his finger in my ass.

He can’t let her find out about the Blakemoor situation and woudl rather not have his love life blasted all over the internet. So, he picks Stella as his next year long relationship partner. Is he really only interested in keeping her quiet, or is he actually interested in a real relationship with Stella? He can’t deny that her sassy attitude draws him in.

This was a great read! I enjoyed the story and the main characters. Jack and Stella were great and I loved the snarkiness of Stella. Her attitude was great and it made her a great character to read. Jack’s need for a strict schedule and his vulnerability to his flashbacks made him a real person. I give this book a 5 star review. I liked this story and highly recommend you read it. I loved the chemistry between Stella and Jack.

ARC Review of “Wild West Billionaire: The Conquest and The Secret”, by Harper Lauren

The Conquest:

A one night stand that has both parties thinking of each other a year after. They can’t get each other out of their minds. Neither one gave their real name, so they can’t track each other down. A second chance meeting almost a year later could be fate.

James West, a CEO of a large family company Magnate Group, who works too hard and has little time for dating or spending time with anyone special. One chance meeting at a bachelor party in Jamaica has him pining away for a woman he can’t find. He’s not interested in anyone else, and a relationship with anyone is not possible because he can’t get Beth out his head.

Hanna Parker, a down on her luck woman who is again in need of a job, she gets an interview with the Magnate Group as an Administrative Assistant. It’s a dream job and she really hopes that she can ace the interview and get the job. She needs to pay her roommate and best friend back for the help she has given her since she graduated college with her degree in Social Media. One chance meeting a year ago gave Hanna the view of the perfect man for her, but will she ever see him again?

This was a well written story about two people finding their true paths in life and finding the one person who completes them. These two go through a lot of drama and turmoil, but they finally find their way back to each other and find that they were actually meant to be together. Both James and Hanna come from troubled families in different ways, but they don’t lose the ability to love or share their lives. I give this story a 4.5 star review.

The Secret:

Jordan West, older brother of James West, but has nothing to do with the family business. Jordan was the black sheep of the family and had to find his own way in life as well as his success in life. He took the hard way around to do this, but he did succeed with the help of a man who saw more than what was on the surface when he met Jordan. Jordan is now a rich man who owns his own Trading company, but his past still haunts him, and his family doesn’t speak to him.

Laci Wright, a school teacher, older sister who has cared for her younger sister for about ten years, since their parents died, when Jenna, the younger sister, was only eight. Laci doesn’t date, she has many excuses as to why, but none that are really true. One night after an uncomfortable conversation with Jenna, Laci decides to go for a long walk to clear her head. She doesn’t realize that she has walked to an area that she shouldn’t be alone as a young woman and turns around, but not quick enough before someone decides to follow her.

Jordan is out walking one evening when he hears a woman scream and being pulled into an ally. He rushes to her defense and in the process he runs into someone from his past who. He gets Laci to safety and realizes that she is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. Laci feels the draw too, but her fear keeps her from seeing Jordan again, that is until he comes to her place again and asks her out again. She couldn’t quit thinking about Jordan and regretted saying no when he asked her out the first time, so the second time she said yes.

Jordan and Laci go through some drama and issues the same that James and Hannah did, but I found Laci to be a bit more annoying. I really liked both stories, but I was annoyed with the way Laci acted when she found out about Jordan’s past.

Harper Lauren did a great job with these stories and the characters. I really enjoyed both of them, and would like to read more about these families. I give this story a 4 star review.

ARC Review of “The Wolf’s Hunt”, by K. T. Harding

This is the third book in the Hinterland Series. This series is full of twists and suspense. These books have a touch of dystopian and historical but it is a fantasy story. I have enjoyed this series and found The Wolf’s Hunt to be as well written as the first two stories in the series. The Wolf’s Hunt has answered some questions from the second book, but it has also created some new questions and hopes for the best.

Raleigh wants to hang up her slayer ways and go home to her father’s farm and just return to her simple life, but her father convinces her to return to Bishop’s home and fulfill the contract.

Dax is just as upset as Raleigh, but he continues to maintain the daily chores that he is used to doing. Even though his life has changed so much, he keeps doing his daily chores and tries to keep a normal life.

Raleigh and Dax need to go back to Hinterland and when they do they are more confused and have more questions than they did when they left the last time.Their determination may end their lives though.

If you like a story that will draw you in and keeps you up at night reading to find out what will happen next, then you should pick up The Wolf’s Hunt and read the whole series. You should start at the beginning because otherwise you will be lost. I give this story a 4.5 star review.
