Review of Tongue’s Target: Ruthless Kings MC #11 (Dark Romantic Suspense/Organized Crime) by K.L. Savage @klsavage_author @GiveMeBooksPR #TuesdayBookBlog

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Oh wow! This is a heart wrenching story about the love between two people that love so deeply their souls know each other. I am such a huge fan of Tongue’s and this story broke my heart. Especially the ending, I was not expecting it at all.

Tongue and Daphne are such an awesome couple, and I loved this story. To have the background of Daphne’s story and to have these two have to fight for their love wrecked me. I didn’t want to read any teasers because I was too afraid of what I would read before reading the book and I am so glad that I waited. This story is tragic, beautiful, and soul deep.

Daphne loves Tongue, body, mind and soul and it is proved in this story. They have a lot to work out so that they can find their way in the Ruthless Kings again, but this MC is a deep loving family, and they will help Daphne and Tongue through all of the turmoil.

I love the Ruthless Kings and while most of their stories make me laugh a lot, this one had me more subdued than normal. I give this story a 5-star review and I hope that the next book to continue this story comes out soon. No matter if it does or not, I still look forward to reading any book by K. L. Savage, their books are a one-click for me and that won’t change. They know how to write dark, twisted characters and I love them all.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review of The Devil’s Vengeance (Vows & Vengeance Duet #2) A Dark Romance by Bella J. @BellaJ_Author @GiveMeBooksPR

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Dark is an understatement for this book. It is dark and twisted with betrayal, deceit and hidden agendas. Daniela and Gian are pawns in this story that fight for their lives and they will lose more than they could imagine.

Daniela is in her own kind of hell and she has to bow to her captor if she has any way of keeping those that she loves safe and alive. Her body is battered, bruised and so sore, but the only way to save the most important people in her life she has to submit and take the brutality.

Gian is tormented in searching for Daniela. When thinks that he has finally won the battle and saved his wife, his world gets turned upside down again and nothing is as he expected it to be.

This is the conclusion of the Vows and Vengeance Duet. It is dark, gritty and twisted, and I loved it. I couldn’t help but fall in love with Gian Silvestro as I got farther into the first book The Devil’s Vow, his hatred for his wife waned and he fell in love with her. Now that she’s missing, he’s beside himself trying to find her. The betrayal, destruction, deceit and hidden agendas in this story are shattering but they made the pages turn and my interest glued to the book. A family full of secrets and deceit leads to tragedy, pain and betrayal, but what is found at the end is the love of a couple that heal each other and show them that life can move on and souls can heal. I loved the story and give it a 5-star review. I don’t think I’ve come across a book by Bella J that I didn’t love, she knows how to draw a reader in with such force that you feel lost until you finish the book.

Review of The Priest (Bratva Blood) by SR Jones @skyejwords @GiveMeBooksPR

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Priest may not be Russian, but he’s an ex-SEAL and is now working with a group of ex-Russian Special Forces operators and ex-Bratva, along with ex-American Special Forces to guard and protect when needed. If you are rich enough, you can hire this group to help you with security and protection. Priest doesn’t trust easily, but his friend, Cole told him these guys were going legit and it would be a good fit for him, so he took the job. Now he’s been tasked with locating, rescuing, and securing Roze Muka the daughter of a man that is high up in a group of mafia factions called The Starz Allianz, he’s trying to take over the leadership and Roze has been taken to make her father, Gezim, bow to the factions that are currently in charge.

I love the characters in the Bratva Blood series. These men are deadly, loyal, powerful, strong and when they come across a woman that can bring them to their knees they’re done for. There’s no going back once they find that woman and they will go to any extreme to make sure their woman is safe, taken care of and protected at all cost. I love Roze and Priest’s story, even though I wanted to scream at them to communicate. Priest took matters into his own hands and showed Roze that she needed to stop jumping to conclusions. I give this story a 5-star review and look forward to the next book in the series, Cole and Pamela’s story.

Review of Vicious Oath (Ivanov Crime Family, Book 2) by Zoe Blake @zoeblakebooks @GiveMeBooksPR

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

One thing is for sure, Yelena Nikitina is a fighter and a survivor. She hides her fear behind bravado and sass. She’s smart, beautiful, sassy, strong and too young for Damien Ivanov. However, that doesn’t stop Damien for searching for her after she and one her best friends goes on the run. Yelena is in danger and Damien wants to protect her, but she thinks he is one of the men after her and she has eluded him and his brother for 3 years. Now that they’ve caught up to the two women, they are determined to take them back home Washington, DC, and protect them the only way they know how.

Yelena is one of Damien’s younger sister, Nadia’s, best friends. She has found a way to make a lot of money so she can get away from her stepfather, the only trouble is that she’s too young to realize that she’s has put herself in danger in doing so. Now Damien is bound and determined to save her and protect her. He feels that he failed her eight years ago, now he needs to make it right.

I love the characters and I definitely loved this book. Zoe Blake knows how to write a steamy, sexy story and her characters are always so likable. I love the strength, sass, and determination of Yelena, she may be young, but she’s smart and ready to take on any foe. Damien is determined, sexy and gentle to a point when it comes to Yelena. He wants to make sure she’s safe and protected, so he will fight anyone that puts her in danger or is after her. I give this book a 5-star review and can’t wait for the next book in the series. These girls, Nadia Ivanov, Yelena Nikitina and Samara Federova are like sisters and have known each other since they were little girls.

Review of Toxic (Thanatos MC Book 1) by Cole Lepley @cole_lepley @HiddenGemsBooks

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5

She was trying to get away from a toxic relationship and find a way to move and have a new beginning, but when she was standing in line at the coffee shop and the sexy, arrogant, tattooed man stepped in front of her and ordered his coffee, she was distracted. Sloan moved from the east coast to Arizona to start over and get her life back on track after bad relationships had on the run. She was determined to straighten her life out and stepping back into a relationship now was not part of her plan.

Flynn had no interest in relationships, he was not a one-woman man any longer, so why couldn’t he get the sexy woman from the coffee shop out of his head? He has too many things on his plate right now and a woman should not be one of them. He has enough going on with his taking the presidency of the Thanatos MC since his father’s death and he has to keep his head straight. That’s a challenge in itself, add distractions and it only gets worse.

I really liked this first book in the Thanatos MC series. It’s gritty, rough, tragic and full of action and danger. The characters great. The MC has a lot of things going on and Flynn has his own problems that he’s dealing with, so when his club has more danger than they can take coming down on them, his head needs to be in the game. Too bad it takes a close call for him to figure it out and make amends. I love the story line, characters and action in this book, and I look forward to more of the series. Cole Lepley is a new to me author, but after reading Toxic, I will be watching for more of her books to read. I give this book a 4.5-star review and suggest it to readers that are looking for a gritty, dangerous MC story to read.

Review of Cavern of Silence (Behind Closed Doors, Book #4) by Maggie Cole @MaggieColeAuth @GiveMeBooksPR #TuesdayBookBlog

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Wow, just WOW! I don’t know how these books get any better than the one before it, but the stories just keep getting better and the characters keep showing their strength.

I loved this story, and the characters may have gone through a lot but these two heal each other and show their strength and determination. I loved how the title of this book was revealed and it is so true.

Julieta is trapped in her job, she wanted to give her husband what he wanted and in order to do that she had to sacrifice herself, little does she know that she is sacrificing so much more.

Ryker is finally back to his regular job for Interpol and is on the rescue mission for the reporter and her sister that were taken by the Columbian drug lord Santiago Gomez. It’s been a year since he has been able to work with his regular team and he’s glad to be back, but the woman that he has been assigned to protect and get to safety has rendered his speechless when she comes out of the pit. Ryker could lose himself for good this time though.

Ryker and Julieta have both been hurt in love and Ryker doesn’t believe that he has a second chance at love, but when he sees Julieta and gets to know her, he finds that love can be found again. He finds that he will do anything to protect the woman that is in his charge and finding out her secrets and protecting her is something he will do until his last breath. He wants to see her happy and give her a life that she wants. The characters in these books are so strong, sexy, determined and ready to take on the world for their beliefs. The women have been taken for specific reasons but the men that rescue them have to find a way to keep them safe and take down those responsible for putting them in danger and hurting them. The men are brothers and know that their positions are in jeopardy, but they can’t turn their backs on these women and see them hurt any more than they’ve already been. I love these stories and the characters. Each book brings a different couple and their struggle to find safety and get clear of the dangers that surround the women. I give this story a 5-star review and cannot wait for the next two books in the series. I learn a little more with each book as more secrets are revealed with each book and each couple and these couples are great!

Review of Balls to the Wall (Birch Police Department, Book 1) by April Canavan @GiveMeBooksPR

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5

Parker Hayes is raising her son on her own since she lost her husband in the war. Life hasn’t been easy since they married, and she lost him. Growing up in the small Maine town has been a curse on her since everyone knows everyone’s business and everyone in the small town believes that she broke Remy’s heart by cheating on him. Too bad the only people who know what really happened that night six years ago aren’t talking. Parker doesn’t want to tarnish Danny’s reputation. His family knows most of the truth and they have always stood beside her and helped her, but the rest of the town has shunned her and treated her as though she broke Remy’s heart.

Jeremy “Remy” Townsend made a promise to his dyeing best friend when they were overseas and he’s having a hard time making good on his promise. He would do anything for Parker Hayes, but he truly believes that she hates him and he’s having a hard time being around her. That is until he is pushed back into her life when her dog dies and then some weird happenings start at her home. They have to talk and they both need to come clean and be honest with each other.

This is a story about second chances, coming clean, and fighting the fear of losing someone you love so that you can move on in life and both be happy. Its full of suspense, secrets, deception and danger. I love the characters and am looking forward to more in the series. There’s a lot of men in this series that need to overcome their fears and pull up their big boy panties and step up to show the women they want that they are worth the fear they have deep down. I give this story a 4.5-star review and look forward to reading more of the Birch Police Department stories to come. The men may be ex-military and police officers, but deep down they hide a fear of the unknown when it comes to the women, they want in their lives but are too afraid to let them know it. The back and forth between the characters is steamy and fun to read. I look forward to more.

BLURB:

There’s a thief in the Demon Squad clubhouse.
Someone has been stealing from the Squad Bar and the brothers can’t catch the wily culprit.

Club brother Hoodie knows why.
Because the thief is one of their own.

Having survived a childhood of betrayal, Hoodie learned early on that the worst treacheries always come from within. But even he was shocked when he discovered it’s her. Jazz—the sexy, vivacious biker chick who Hoodie secretly craved for years. A gorgeous, vibrant woman like Jazz would never be interested in a scarred beast like Hoodie, and since she was crushing on his best friend, Hoodie chose to stay in the shadows.

After getting over the disappointment of unrequited love, Jazz focused her energy on paying her father’s mounting medical bills. Stealing from the club nearly broke her heart, but she was the only thing standing between her father and death’s doorstep.

When Hoodie discovers that Jazz is the thief, he makes a bold move to save her. But as Jazz begins to realize that her prince charming was hiding in plain sight in the form of the brooding, silent Hoodie, she’s convinced that a noble soul like his could never trust a woman who betrayed the club.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, will Cupid have an arrow left over in his satchel for a mismatched love like theirs?

Check out a Valentine’s Day novella like no other!

About Monique

Growing up in New York City, I used to walk the hot pavements in the melting heat of the long summers, and dream. Uptown to downtown, eastside to the westside, and underground to catch a subway racing out into the boroughs.

During my wanderings, my magic pencil spun out fantasies full of romance, with first meetings, heartbreaks, and reunions. Sometimes my boy crush (unrequited, of course) starred as the hero.

I grew up, and after a stint in art school, became a lawyer ‘cuz a woman’s got to make a living. I came from parents who fled to France as refugees, and as an attorney, I dedicated my work to helping survivors of trauma and persecution.

I believe in them. In their grit, in their determination to hold on, to pull through and, somehow, someway, to keep themselves intact, body and soul.
Perhaps that is why I am drawn to writing stories of men and women who live through heart-rending pain, desperate yearnings and, ultimately, reach a place of redemption.

For a long time, I fought the urge to veer off the expected, safe path until I couldn’t go on unless I took a chance and made a change. I began to write, stopped, and began again. Finally, I gave in and here I am.

Come join me on my journey…

My ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 out of 5 Review:

Someone’s stealing from the Demon Squad MC and the only person that knows who it is has to protect her because he can’t let her face the Squad to deal with it on her own.

Hoodie is a quiet man that keeps to himself and doesn’t say much. He’s been watching Jazz for a while now and he finally has a chance to show her that he will take care of her and protect her while giving her the life she deserves. He can’t defy his president; he has to tell him what he’s found out and find a way to protect the woman he loves.

Jazz needs to find a way to help her father and get him the medicine he needs. She works two jobs and still doesn’t have the funds to provide for him like she needs to. She makes a decision that could get her killed, but she has no choice. To deceive the Demon Squad MC is dangerous and could get her killed but little does she know that there is someone that is willing to step up and help her and protect her.

Jazz and Hoodie have been around each other for a few years, but Jazz had no idea that Hoodie was interested in her. She has a hard time believing that Hoodie is protecting her because he wants to, she thinks it’s out of pity and kindness. I enjoyed their story. The Demon Squad MC is a dangerous group of men that are not kind if you betray them, but when Hoodie steps up and tells his President of the betrayal by Jazz, he asks for more help from the President in keeping the betrayal quiet. The Squad might be dangerous, but they are also fair men. I enjoy the characters and the story lines of these books. I give this book a 4-star review and look forward to more of the Squad.

Review of Captured: Red Horsemen MC Duet #1 by Raven Amor @GiveMeBooksPR

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Wow! Steamy, intense, dangerous and deadly. Ice is a man that won’t let anything slip by him. He’s the VP of the Red Horsemen and the son of the President. He didn’t get his patch just because he’s the president’s son, he earned that patch just anyone else in the club has to earn theirs. He rose through the ranks at a young age and the destroyed the boy he was. Now he’s as cold as Ice when his adversaries are in his sights. He believes he has no heart, and he is not a man who knows how to love, but he shows his love in other ways, especially with his little sister Layla “Red”.

Rae is a woman on the run, but her life now is so much different than it was growing up. A tragedy and betrayal made her the woman she is now, and she doesn’t get close to anyone. So why is that she feels like she’s home when she lands in Harrison looking to work in the tattoo shop? Sketch the owner of the shop and tattoo artist that hired her is confused when he meets her and almost sends her away, but he gives in and decides to give her a chance when she convinces him that she can handle herself. Layla works in the shop too and she stands to the side smiling when Sketch meets Rae. Rae is following her mother’s last dying wish, her mother told her “If you ever find the sun missing from your sky, there. Promise me.” So here she is, but she isn’t planning to stay very long. She’s been on the run for four years and she can’t let them find her or catch up to her.

I loved this story. It was so intense and hard to put down. Rae has no idea why she has stayed so long in this town, or how or why she has become so close to Layla and the brothers of the MC. It’s the first time in years that she has felt safe and at home. Her life has been on hold for so long and she’s been alone for so long that it feels nice to feel respected, needed and cared about. I was so disappointed when I came to the last page and found out there was a cliffhanger and that I would have to wait a month for the rest of the story. I was so engrossed in the story that I didn’t realize I was coming to the end. I give this book a 5-star review and am very excited for Claimed. I love the characters and the story. The men of the Red Horsemen MC have no idea what has hit them when Rae shows up to work in Branded. I would love to read Layla’s book too as well as more of the other Horsemen after Claimed. I do believe that I have found a new to me author to stalk and her books to horde.

Review for Grave: Royal Devils MC, Chicago Book #1 by Erin Trejo @trejo_erin @GiveMeBooksPR

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

She’s is not what she seems from the outside. When Silla is attacked on the street while Grave is out running, he can’t just go about his business and leave her on the street. He may not know who she is, but he knows that it’s not right to keep running while she could die there in the street alone. Grave is making all kinds of crazy decisions and this one could be his downfall. Silla has her own secrets and battles to fight, can they work together and slay their demons and have a HEA?

Grave is the son of the president of the Chicago chapter, but there is no love between the two.
When he is drawn out of hiding for his mother, he fights to get his MC back under control and the leadership back to what it should be and the club to be trusted again by its ally’s. Grave has the MC blood running through his veins and he just wants the club to be loyal and what it should have been before it was run into the ground and trust lost among clubs, ally’s, and brothers.

I really liked this book. It pulled me in from the first page and held my mind captive until the very end. It’s full of betrayal, secrets, danger and great characters that made me feel as though I knew them and wanted to help them. Loyalty is a big deal with an MC. If there is no loyalty or trust, an MC has nothing. The Chicago Chapter of the Royal Devils MC has a lot of issues going on and when there is a hit on the club and one of their own is left for dead, a lot will come crashing down. Some members will face the wrath of the club and their own betrayal will catch up to them. I give this book a 5-star review and I am so looking forward to Psycho’s book. He was probably my favorite character. He’s such a lost soul and his pain is so real.
