Rampage is not in the market for a forever relationship, but when the woman walks into the shelter where he’s guarding Kinslee, Cuff’s woman, while she is learning how to manage the shelters, he can’t seem to shake the instant attraction and need to protect her. When he returns to Texas with Kinslee and the others, he’s still thinking about Ember, but her betrayal is causing him to fight with himself. When she reappears and finds them in Texas everything will come to light.
Ember has had a rough life and she’s been manipulated to do things that she doesn’t want to do, among other things. When she finally gets her freedom and finds a place to land on her feet and safety, she finds out that her childhood could have been so much different if it weren’t for manipulative men, lying women, and tragic events.
The men of the Ares Infidel’s MC are determined to take down the human trafficking ring that has been running through their town and after they get some names and locations of rings, they work with the Time Served MC and some other allies to stop the rings and rid the towns of the darkness. This brings Ember back into Rampage’s life and turns it upside down again.
I love this series and the characters. The women appear to be weak and downtrodden, but in reality, they are strong survivors of tragic events and just need the right man to show them that strength and acceptance of who they are. I love the Coven and all their craziness. I give this book a 5-star review and can’t wait for the next book in the Tenillo Guardians.
Wow, this book was everything I was hoping for in Finn’s story. I love the Muffin Man in the other books, but his story really showed who he is and that he should not be dismissed as some guy that was living on the streets.
Finn was a Ranger in the army. He lost everything that ever mattered to him on his last deployment and when he returned home, he used everything he had to find it, but had no luck. Drained of everything he had, he’s living on the streets of NYC until a woman shows up and offers him muffins. This chance meeting is what Finn needed to start living his life again, so he moved to the small town outside of Chicago that the Cortell Brothers and the crazy towns folk live. Five years after his devastating loss, he gets the shock of his life on a dark, snowy road one night, and his true adventure takes off.
This story was one of my favorites. It’s not as funny or light as the others, but it was such a great read. I loved the real Finn showing himself and the way that Antonio, Jack, and Carter all came together to help Finn. It was full of action, danger, haunts, and as always, great characters. I didn’t want to like Addie at first, but she grew on me. I love these stories and while I have loved all of the books, I’ve read of Giulia Lagomarsino’s I think this book in the A Good Run of Bad Luck might be my favorite so far. The banter is always fun in her books, but the danger and intrigue keep getting better. I give this book a 5-star review and if I could do it, I would definitely give more. I do love the Muffin Man.
He was a fire fighter, the Chief’s son, and a member of the RBMC, he had everything he wanted and then he met the beautiful woman that runs the Inn, when he has to save her from a fire at her Inn and take her to the hospital. Now he really feels as though he has it all, until a tragic fire makes him question everything.
Brimstone lives two different lives, he’s a fire fighter working his way up the ranks during the day and then he’s a member of the Washington National Chapter RBMC. His buddies on the fire squad don’t know what he does on his down time, but he’s well respected in the small town as a fire fighter and the son of the Fire Chief. When tragedy strikes, Brimstone needs to rethink his life and takes off because he doesn’t feel like he’s good enough for his brothers, the town, or the beautiful woman that he has feelings for.
Soul runs the Inn and after a couple of terrible incidents, she’s had to have the fire department show up. When she woke up the first time in the hospital and saw the handsome man that saved her, she was smitten. She’s a strong woman that knows that Brimstone is her future, but she has to convince him that he’s worth the fight she’s giving him to stay around and make a life with her.
I love the RBMC all chapters and all authors in the group. This book was no different. The characters are strong, sexy, dangerous, loyal, and a little bit broken, but when they figure out that they can be whole again if they’d just open their hearts and their eyes, their lives will be so much more. Soul finds herself in trouble more than any woman should and Brimstone is the only man that can make her feel safe and loved. I love the story, characters, and chapter. I give this book a 4-star review and I look forward to more of the RBMC, Washington National Chapter in the future along with many more books in the RBMC.
Grudges, secrets, and tragic events are in the conclusion of the Houston Defiance MC series, and I hated to see it end. I love the characters in this series and will miss them dearly. However, the conclusion was an epic ending and one of the best reads for me this year, so far.
Koda and Thayleah have a great future, but when their past comes knocking on the door, they may not have that future. Thayleah has been dealt a lot of hard blows, but she will do anything to protect her family and those that are close to her, so when her past rears its ugly head with a nasty threat, she takes things into her own hands, but can she survive what lies ahead for her?
The Houston Defiance will be threatened for the secrets they’ve created, and it won’t be an easy fix. When danger walks into the club house, again, it’s going to be bloody and tragic. However, the Houston Defiance is a family that stands together and loyalties will be proven. I love the Houston Defiance and I hate to see the end of this series, but I am sure that K E Osborn will not disappoint and will have so much more to share with her readers. I love her stories and her characters and always look forward to more from her. I give this book a 5-star review and honestly, if I could double it I would.
A retired special ops tracker now owns a ranch in Montana and runs High Mountain Trackers with members from his special ops team. They run High Meadows Ranch along with the tracking business. Jonas Harvey hires out a prized stud for breading mares at this ranch. When that stud gest out of his paddock and gets hurt, Alexandra “Alex” Hart is called by a passerby to come check out the horse. Alex runs Hart’s Horse Rescue. Alex is a trained vet tech and now rescues horses from neglected situations as well as abuse. She doesn’t believe in putting a horse down just because they have an injury or are spooked because of how they were treated before she took them in.
Alex and Jonas’ first meeting wasn’t pleasant, so when Alex gets a call to go to High Meadows Ranch to help out with a horse that was injured and needs some extra work, she is surprised to meet the grouchy man that she met at the scene on the roadside. Both Alex and Jonas are surprised at the second meeting and Alex holds her head high and keeps her walls up. When Jonas’ team is called out for a tracking job, and danger is near, Jonas’ protective side comes out.
I really liked this story and the loved the characters. Jonas is a man that never figured he’d find a woman to settle down with and now in his 50’s he figured he’d live his life the same way it’s been for years, but when Alex comes along and shows him how his life could be he wants what he envisions. Alex is a widow with a grown son and isn’t looking for anything serious. Her heart has been broken before and she is not looking to lose anyone close to her again, so she’s built a wall around her heart, but Jonas has the hammer to break those walls down.
I look forward to more of the High Meadow/High Mountain Trackers characters and hope there are many more books to come. I would love to read Lucy’s story too. She’s a great character and her story seems to like it will be a tough one. I give this book a 4-star review.
I’m pleased to be your stop today for the Blog Tour of Midnight Lies (DI Mariner Book #9) by Chris Collett
MIDNIGHT LIES BLURB
Discover an utterly addictive new crime mystery from a No. 1 bestselling author! Secrets, lies, bodies. Nothing stays buried forever . . . It starts on an abandoned campsite in Norfolk. Developers unearth a human skeleton. The remains of an eighteen-year-old girl. Robina Scanlon — a blast from the past that shocks Detective Tom Mariner to his core.
In the sweltering summer of 1976, they met on holiday and teenage Mariner fell for her instantly.
He thought she was the one who got away. Now he realizes she never even left.
She was murdered back at the campsite where they met, all those years ago.
Mariner drives to Norfolk, his head so full of ghosts he can barely think straight.
What happened to his first love?
The mystery of her death becomes a dangerous obsession.
The truth is a terrible secret that lies buried deep in the past.
And someone out there will do anything to keep it that way . . . A nail-bitingly tense crime mystery that will keep you turning the pages late into the night. Perfect for fans of Peter James, Angela Marsons, Rachel McLean, Caro Ramsay, Helen H. Durrant, Ian Rankin and Peter Robinson.
Read what everyone is saying about the Detective Mariner mysteries: “It would be impossible not to like Mariner!” Margaret, NetGalley “Collett is a wonderful writer, subtle, clever, strong on atmosphere and character.” Yorkshire Post “Fully fledged female characters distinguish Collett’s police procedurals.” Publishers Weekly “Well written, thoughtful, and entertaining.” Booklist “I didn’t want to put it down!” Anne “I do like a good police procedural and this definitely fits the bill.” Elaine THE DETECTIVE Detective Inspector Tom Mariner is, on the surface, an average dedicated policeman, but his experiences as a younger man have given him an insight into life on the dark side, and a clear sense of right and wrong. Mariner has little interest in material things. He lives in a modest canal-side cottage, enjoys the occasional (real) beer and game of dominoes and drives an old car. He is most at home in the outdoors, with an OS map and a compass, and in times of crisis, will take off and walk for miles in any weather. DI MARINER SERIES Book 1: DEADLY LIES Book 2: INNOCENT LIES Book 3: KILLER LIES Book 4: BABY LIES Book 5: MARRIED LIES Book 6: BURIED LIES Book 7: MISSING LIES Book 8: DARKEST LIES Book 9: MIDNIGHT LIES
Review of Midnight Lies (DI Mariner Book 9) by Chris Collett
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5
Another great DI Mariner story, and there is a lot going on in this ninth book in the series. DI Mariner’s team has a case that has them confused. They are working hard to figure out the details and the victims of a car accident which has them scratching their heads, then DI Mariner is pulled away and into his past when the remains of an eighteen-year-old girl is unearthed, and if that isn’t enough, DI Mariner is also under scrutiny for a case where he got involved while heading home on the bus.
I loved this story and the twists, turns, and flashes back to a time when DI Tom Mariner was younger and trying to fit in and find himself. It brought out a whole new side of him that I enjoyed learning. It seems that he is always on the job, no matter whether he is on vacation, heading home from work, or actually working. His life is full of his job and with this book, he is thinking about his future and where he is headed. I love DI Mariner and his team, and this book was just as engrossing, gripping, and tragic. I give this book a 5-star review and I am looking forward to more of DI Mariner and his team.

Stag has been in and out of juvie for years, but now he’s determined to keep his nose clean… or as clean as the Road Captain for the Fury Vipers MC can be.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5
A story full of deceit, betrayal, tragedy, and finding happiness despite all the pain.
Kinsley should be protected at all costs, she’s that important to the club, but when she’s betrayed and put in danger, she doesn’t see any light at the end of the tunnel for herself. The pain and suffering she endures is tragic, and she never should have been put in the position she’s in.
Stag has been in and out of juvie for years, now that he’s an adult, he’s spent time in prison and has gained his freedom. Now he’s looking for a place to land. When he steps in to help a man in a bar, his life finds purpose and a place to land. He finds his way to the Fury Vipers MC and a family in the process.
I loved this story of Stag and Kinsley. The Fury Vipers MC are a group of men that are mostly loyal, with a few bad seeds in the mix. When the betrayer is someone that is respected and looked up, it is so much worse. This story had so many emotional parts to it and I fell in love with the Fury Vipers at the end of the book. These men will fight to keep those they call family and love protected and safe at all costs. They aren’t afraid to stand up to those that have betrayed them or showed disrespect to them. I loved this first story to the Fury Vipers MC and as usual with Brooke Summers’ characters, her heroine is a strong, beautiful woman that has survived the worst betrayal and tragedy for a young woman. I loved that she was able to find her happiness and safely find her way back to her family. I give this book a 5-star review and I am looking forward to Mayhem’s story. Brooke Summers knows how to write bada** women that are strong, beautiful and powerful in their own way.

Brooke is a Londoner born and raised. She lives with her husband and their daughter. She’s a foul mouthed, dirty minded weirdo. An introvert and would rather spend the night in front of the fire reading, rather than going out and partying.
Just because everyone around you tells you that you are meant to be with someone, it does not necessarily mean it’s true. People change and circumstances change. Make sure you’re happy first, otherwise it is hard to keep those you love happy. Love comes in different ways and friends can be loved but they don’t have to be your destiny.
Cara is an MC princess that is living the life she believes she’s supposed to. Everyone around her has always told her that Rhett was the person that she was supposed to be with, so she’s with him, but things have changed and she’s questioning her life and her happiness. When she finally decides to make some changes in her life and move to start fresh, she finds herself in the clutches of an MC enemy that is out to destroy Rhett and the enemy is unaware that Cara is no longer with Rhett, but they really don’t care either.
Decker has questioned his job as being a cop and how things are done. He has decided to become a PI and have the freedom to do the job without all of the bureaucracy and red tape. When he is hired to find a woman that is believed to be a half-sister, he finds a woman that he could finally commit to. However, he has to be professional and then he has a lot of obstacles to overcome to make her his. When this woman finds herself in danger because of who she is and her ex, Decker will do anything to keep her safe and protect her, even if it means sacrificing her ex to do it.
I loved this story and these characters. This was my read of a book by Chantal Fernando, but it will not be my last. I can’t wait for the next book in this series to come out, but I will also be going to purchase the other books in the Wind Dragons MC and the Knights of Fury MC because now I want to know more about those characters. I loved that Decker had to go through an initiation of sorts with the Wind Dragons, but that he was not uncomfortable at all with them. I look forward to more books in Chantal Fernando’s writings and I give this book at 5-star review. I really want a Decker of my own, thanks. He’s sexy, kind, considerate, loyal, and protective.
Wow! I thought the Second Skin books were hot, spicy, sexy, and off the charts! Doubling Down was just as steamy, sexy, spicy and off the charts as well. Ophelia Bell knows how to write steamy books with multiple partners.
Sarah Nolan is finally returning home to New York after being away at college for three years. She has one more year before she graduates, but she has not been home since the summer she left for college and left the turmoil, memories, guilt, and ghosts of her young adult life. She lost so much that summer and has stayed away to start over.
Little does she know that her life will change again and all that she left is waiting for her to come home. I loved this short, steamy book of a taboo relationship and the need to explore as a young adult. It was a great read and as I have found with Ophelia Bell’s books it was very sexy and steamy. I give this book a 5-star review.
They had a secret that they’ve been keeping from their families and were afraid to admit to anyone that they never stopped loving each other, even after the years apart.
Angel is a member of the Steel Scorpions MC and has a tumultuous past. He was never the perfect son. His high school love is a woman that he left because he thought she would be better off without him in her life. Safer, a better life with someone that could give her everything she wanted. However, when life struck and she’s alone again, Angel and Nadia find themselves sneaking around to be together. They’re just hooking up though, right?
Nadia’s sister has just started a relationship with the VP of the Steel Scorpions MC and neither of them know about her and Angel, but when Nadia finds herself in a bad situation, The Steel Scorpions MC will do what they can to get her back and protect her because she’s the sister of an old lady. Nadia is a strong-willed woman that has been working to learn to protect herself with the help of Angel, after she lost her husband.
I liked this story of Angel and Nadia; they are both stubborn and can’t figure out that they need each other in their lives to live. Nadia is a fighter, but when she finds herself in danger she hopes and prays that Angel will find her and rescue her. Angel would do anything to find Nadia and when he makes a deal with the devil his future is in jeopardy. Now these two have to find a way. to stay safe and happy. I love the characters and can’t wait to see what kind of deals, trouble, or danger the rest of these Steel Scorpions find when they get snagged by the woman that will bring them to their knees. I give this book a. 5-star review and I am looking forward to the Goose’s story next.

Seeing Aria so defeated and deflated killed me inside. If no one else, she was the one that needed to have hope. I held my hand out for her and she took it, helping herself to her feet, and as I led her into the kitchen, I pulled out a chair for her at the table.
“Sit. You need some food,” I said.
She sniffled and wiped at her eyes. “Shouldn’t you be out there searching with the guys?”
I rummaged around in the fridge. “Once we eat, yes.”
“How can you think about your stomach at a time like this? I’m not even hungry.”
I pulled shit out of the fridge and slapped it onto the kitchen counter. “Can’t save someone on an empty stomach, I always say.”
“Idiot,” she murmured.
I ignored the quip and put sandwiches together. “You know she’s going to be okay, right?”
“I don’t know anything right now,” she said breathlessly.
“Well, she’s going to be. Your sister is strong. She’s always got her wits about her. She’s more capable than a lot of women out there, and the Devil’s Rage aren’t going to know what to do with that.”
“I get what you’re trying to do, and you can stop.”
I slid a plate of food in front of her. “You mean giving you hope so that you don’t drag the rest of us down your rabbit holes?”
“Angel,” Reaper said flatly. “Seriously?”
Aria’s angry gaze snapped up to mine. “I hated you back in high school, and I hate you now.”
I placed a bottle of water in front of her. “And that’s fine, you can hate me all you want. But the best way to help Nadia right now is to stuff down whatever you’re feeling so that you can be productive with us. We need all hands on deck, and that includes yours.”
She slumped into her seat. “It sucks when you guys are right.”
I chuckled as I sat across the table from her. “Now, eat. Get out whatever emotions you need to get out with me. Say whatever it is you need to say. But when we’re done eating? We get to work. Got it?”
“Yeah, yeah,” she said as she reached for her water bottle. “I got it.”
And as we sat there eating in relative silence, I watched as mindless tears dripped down Aria’s cheeks.
“We’re going to find her,” I said.
Her eyes flickered up to mine. “I know we are.”
“We’re going to find her alive.”
And when she swallowed hard, I knew I had hit the nail on the head.
“I sure hope you’re right about that, Angel,” she said softly.
I had to be right. Because if anything happened to Nadia, I would kill them all.
Savannah Rylan is a romance writer that spends most of her time writing and reading with her cat, Gris. When not writing about sexy bikers and the women that love them, you can find her on the beach with a drink in her hand or at the gym testing out some strange new position. Yoga, obviously. She lives in Southern California with her husband and Gris, the true love of her life.
I read lots of books, from mythology retellings to literary fiction and I love to reread books from childhood, this is a place to voice my thoughts for fun. I also like to ramble about things such as art or nature every now and again.
