A story of finding your way back from a tragedy and finding your new normal.

Landon is assigned to Essie after she has been saved and helped to escape a sex trafficking ring. The problem is that she lost herself in the process and Landon has been tasked with trying to get information from her so that the FBI can take out the sex trafficking ring completely.

If you’ve read any of Bry Ann’s Roses & Thorns, FBI Brotherhood Series, or the Shattered Duet, then you know about Essie (Tammie) and how her life was changed and what caused her to lose herself. If you have not read any of these books, I highly suggest you read them. You will never be the same again after you’ve read them.

I loved how Landon was so gentle with Essie, yet stern when he needed to be, and how Essie began to trust and look forward to his visits. Landon has not had an easy life, although in a different way than Essie’s. My favorite quote from this story is from the Epilogue “His words don’t bother me, because I am a genius. I am a survivor. I am a fiancé, and a friend, and a makeup artist. I am all of those things. But none of them define me. Because before all of those, I’m simply Essie Tammy Taylor”. This statement shows how far Essie has come after her tragedy and how Landon helped her to achieve this mind set. My favorite part of this statement though is, “I am a survivor”.

Bry Ann writes such tragic stories in such a beautiful way. I devoured this book in one day and actually lost track of time while I was reading it. That seems to happen a lot when I read her books.

I give this story a 5-star review and cannot recommend it enough. One thing I will say is, make sure you have the tissues nearby and know that there can be triggers in this story.

Grace and Sol will have to find themselves before they can find their futures. This story was full of angst, confusion, and hearts that are being pulled in different directions.

I enjoyed this story but was not happy about the ending. A cliff hanger if ever there was one. Grace is torn between two guys and she doesn’t know which way to turn. Levi makes her happy and his touch makes her heart race. Sol has always made her stomach flip flop and her love has never diminished even with their separation and distance from each other.

The characters in this book are young but full of life and dreams. When Sol returns from his last ministry with the determination of getting Grace back, their lives will change and there is no going back after Levi finds Grace kissing Sol.

I give this story a 4-star review and recommend this series to readers who like YA, love triangles, and angsty love stories. I am anxious for the next book in the series to come out so that I can find out what is going to happen to all of these characters.

A story of second chances at love with a different person. It’s raw, scary, and beautiful.

Brendon Connolly did not have a great childhood. In fact, he had a terrible childhood, until he was placed in the home of Jack and Rose with two other young boys who were twins. They made a family in this home and all of them found the love of a family and parents who treated them as they should be treated. Jack and Rose felt as if these boys were theirs and they loved them.

Harmony Wynham had a good childhood, she has loving parents and didn’t want for much. She fell in love with her friend and they got married. They had a loving marriage and had good friends around them. That is until tragedy struck and Brendon watched the whole thing. Brendon and Harmony knew each other from school and hung out with the same friends in school. Not only did tragedy strike once with Harmony and Brendon’s group, but it struck twice.

This story is about how life caries on around us when we feel that it should stop and stay as still as we are when tragedy strikes us. However, if life does not go on, we can’t go on either. This story was well written for the content and it was beautiful. Even though there is some ugly in it, the way it was written and ended was beautiful. I enjoyed reading it and I am looking forward to reading more of the series. I give this story a 4.5-star review and highly recommend it to readers who want that second chance to happen, love to be fresh and new, and the vulnerability of putting one’s self out there for the world to see.

Cara Dessoye is a spoiled rich girl who is need of protection because she is the daughter of a well-known and highly sought-after producer. She has a twin Emily who is her complete opposite. While Cara is all about the fun and partying constantly, Emily is all about charity and helping those less fortunate. They couldn’t be more different if they tried.

Ford Massey is a retired Marine who opened his own security business with his younger brother, Owen, also a retired Marine. After a tragic loss, Owen is left to run the business on his own and tried to pull Ford out of his self-imposed exile and back to the land of the living. Owen has taken a job with a high-profile family and needs Ford to come back to work and be on his best behavior. Little do either man know that this job will test Fords resolve daily.

I got so into this book that I did not realize I was at the end until I read the last line and then I was so disappointed that it ended. This story is intriguing, stressful, and wonderful. I love Ford and want so much more of this broody man. He is distant, aloof, broody, and very sexy. I do have to warn you that there is a cliff hanger in this book, one which will leave you speechless. I need the next book so that I can figure out what is going on. I loved how Ms. Nelson led me into this story and kept me interested only to drop a bomb on me at the end of the book. This story was so well written, and the characters were so animated that I felt as if I were in the story watching everything unfold. I can’t wait for the next book in this duet.

I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend it to readers who like suspense, ex-military, and men who think they are in control only to find that they have no clue what the heck is going on.

A story of a second, possibly third chance at love between an assassin and a Bratva Princess. Niko was pulled into the Bratva to pay for the sins of his father and then he was betrayed by the one woman who had his heart. Ava is the daughter of the leader of the Bratva, Sergei, but she’s not exactly treasured by her father. Niko was then taken in by Arthur and became an assassin in the Cavalieri Della Morte.

There were a few twists in this story of an assassin who is sent to do a job that he thought he wanted to do, but his heart isn’t in it. It’s full of betrayal and deception.

I liked this story and as the other Cavalieri Della Morte men, Niko is sexy, dark, and lethal. His deception to Sergei and Arthur could lead to his death, but he doesn’t seem to be worried about it. I highly recommend this story along with the other Cavalieri Della Morte stories to readers who like men that are deadly, dark, and believe that they doomed to be alone, until they find that woman who will bring them to their knees and cause them to betray the one man who could kill them and destroy their lives.

I loved Mikhail and his and Niko’s banter. They are both men that you would be afraid of if you ran into them in a dark alley, but their banter can be comical. Ava’s ability to get away from Mikhail is interesting for a man who should be lethal.

This book has a sexy cover as well.

Wow! Such a great story, great characters, and beautifully broken characters. This story was so full of darkness, suspense, cruelty, and twists.

Damian Hart is a young man who grew up in poverty and when he finds a way to get out, he’s betrayed and sent to jail. While he’s there he has plenty of time to plot his revenge and when he gets out of jail, he puts his plan into effect. The only problem is that he only knows part of the story and what he knows, or thinks he knows is all wrong.

Angelina “Lina” Dalton-Clark is a woman whose life is not hers. She has been used by men her entire life and they have destroyed her. She no longer trusts anyone. She has no freedom and she can’t even make choices for herself. She’s been a pawn in her father’s life for as long as she can remember. All she wants is freedom, to make choices, liver her life, and have a normal life.

This book was so well written. There are so many twists and turns that I was surprised at every turn. The darkness of Damian and Lina’s relationship was so well written, and the story drew me in from the very first chapter and wouldn’t let go until the very last page. I was angry with both Damian and Lina for not communicating, although I understood their trust issues, it made me angry that they would not open up to each other. I loved both of them and wanted them to find their future, but I also wanted to shake them both.

This was my first read Charmaine Pauls and I don’t think it will be my last. I give this story a 5-star review and will be looking for more of Ms. Pauls books to read. This book is a mix of dark romance, BDSM, suspense and criminal activity, if you like books with those tropes, I would strongly suggest you purchase this book and read it. Make sure you don’t have to get up early the next morning, because you will not want to put this book down for anything.

Hawk is a dead man walking in the small town of Eastland, GA. He betrayed the Copperheads MC and they own the town. The small-town sheriff and judge don’t do anything unless the Copperheads president, Sid, gives them permission.

Charlotte just wants to get home to Atlanta after a breakup with her boyfriend. Charlotte got up in the middle of a business dinner with her boyfriend and left to pack up her stuff and leave after seeing a text on his phone. Little does she know that her luck is about to get worse after she is stopped by the sheriff.

This was an interesting book. The differences between the main characters, the instant attraction and the portrayal of the MC were a bit different than most MC’s I’ve read. I give this book a 3.5-star review and recommend it to readers who enjoy MC Romance, corrupt police, and opposites attraction.

She was supposed to be a job but something about her draws him in and he can’t bring himself to follow through with Arthur’s orders. He has never deviated from a job before, but this woman just does something to his head.

Percivale is a member of the Cavalieri Della Morte, he is lethal and dangerous. He was brought into the Della Morte by Arthur as a teenager when Arthur saved him from death. Percivale is driven by revenge for the brutal murders of his brothers and father when he was a young boy. The only way he survived was because his father had built safety into his house.

Blossom is a young woman who has caused too much trouble for Arthur and must be eliminated. Percivale has been tasked with that dirty job. Blossom is a small woman who owns her own bakery and has not exactly had it easy in her life. She’s been hurt and does not trust easily, nor does she put herself out there for relationships or friendship. She’s a woman who keeps to herself and has no idea what is headed her way. She believes she has bad luck and she has low confidence in herself.

I really liked this story. Percivale is so enthralled with Blossom and she has unknowingly knocked him off his feet. She is small but mighty in her personality and the draw that she has over Percivale. He figures if he can find a flaw in her he will be able to complete his job, but the more time he watches her and spends with her just seals his fate.

I love how Blossom finally finds her self-worth and the person she was meant to be after her time with Percivale. She finds her voice as well as her strength inside and pulls it out. In the meantime, Percivale finds his heart again and although he is a man who is dark and lethal, he is a different man with Blossom. I actually really like Percivale and was happy to read his story.

I give this story a 5-star review and look forward to more of the Cavalieri Della Morte stories. These guys are deadly but oh so sexy.
