So much heart and all the feels.

Jay doesn’t feel as if he fits into the mold of the Texas grown boy. He loves his family and doesn’t want to leave them, but he just doesn’t feel complete living in small town Texas, and he has never been the Texan wearing cowboy boots and hat. He’s part of the family business but that really isn’t even what he wants in life. The loss of Carson hit the family hard and he can’t bring himself to leave the family to move away, but how can he feel complete and have the life he wants if he stays in Texas? A happenstance meeting in a diner a town away could be his escape and his future. The trouble is that the tiny girl that doesn’t look like most of the other women in this town is shy and timid. Jay’s kindness and gentle nature could draw her out though.

Kailee is not your typical Texan. With her dark skin and head full of braids, she doesn’t look like most of the women in the small town she is hiding in. She’s a shy girl that is in hiding and it seems as though trouble follows her. She is hiding from a man that she thought she could always trust, but after a visit from the police that told her to go on the run, she is confused and doesn’t know what to believe anymore. The handsome, gentle man that comes into the diner she works in draws her. She’s attracted to him, but she knows that if she gets involved, she may have to leave at any time. Her presence and draw to Jay could be the end for the Shelby family though, and she can’t allow that.

I love Bry Ann’s stories. They are always full of Alpha men, kindhearted men, and strong, beautiful women that bring these tough guys to their knees and Jay did not disappoint with these characteristics. Jay is tough just like his brothers, but he has a softer heart and his relationship with Iris is testament to that softness. All of the Shelby boys adore Iris, their little sister and protect her vehemently, but Jay and Iris are closer in age and he gave her the nickname Nemo. Jay’s kind heart shows when he first sees Kailee and notices her timid personality and shyness. He’s gentle, kind, and soft with her and the chemistry between these two is off the charts, just like Kingston and Blythe, and Hunter and Taylor.

Bry Ann always leaves me wanting more of her stories and I love all of her characters. Her books are full of action, suspense, danger, great characters, and so many feels it’s hard to get through her books without shedding tears. I give this story a 5-star review and want to tell you that you need to one-click this book today. I have read all of her books and she is one of my authors that I can’t wait to read.

ARC Review of Test of Love: An MC Romance (Inked Book 5) by Vanessa James

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 3.5 out of 5

Stephan is the leader of the Ravens and tensions are high between the Ravens and the Tigers. Stephan has been taken and is found by Laney. These two find more than they bargained for when Laney rescued Stephan and now they have more questions than answers.

Laney has an idea of who is behind the trouble that Stephan and Laney have walked into. She finds out that she has been betrayed by someone that she thought was a good friend, but also someone that she thought loved her.

This story was a short read for me and maybe because I have not read the first four books in the series, I didn’t find it to draw me in. These two will have to fight their pasts if they want to protect their gang and their city. The situations in the book seemed a little forced to me. I give the story and 3.5-star review and would recommend that you read these books from the first book in order to know what is going on. I am giving an honest review of this book based on reading only this book in the series.

My ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARC Review of Trace (Perdition MC Shifter Book 3) by BE Kelly

Trace

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Moody, broody, and always angry.

Trace gave up his position as Alpha to his pack and leader of the family when he decided he wanted to join the Marines at eighteen. He handed over his position to his younger brother Santiago ‘Rios’ Rios, and he has been a good Alpha for the Perdition MC. Now Rios and his wife, Aylen have to make some changes in their lives since they are expecting their first pup and Rios is ready to hand the Alpha position back over to his brother, Trace. Trace’s past will resurface, and secrets will be revealed, along with betrayal. Trace hasn’t let his wolf out in five years, will he be able to control him if he lets him out now?

Adriana has had five years to come to terms with her life and the loss of the only man she has ever loved. When she finds out that he is alive and living in New Orleans, she knows she has to go see him and talk to him. She doesn’t know if she still loves him or still hates him for how things turned out in El Salvador, but she knows she has to talk to him. Trace and Adriana are both in for a surprise when she walks into Tito’s bar.

I have loved Trace from the beginning. He’s moody and broody, but he is also very sexy. That sexiness becomes more apparent in his story. He and Rios are working to repair their relationship as well as working to get their parents to repair theirs as well. There are a lot of secrets that come to light in this story and they could destroy or repair relationships. I wanted to scream and Adriana and Trace to talk to each other and open up so that they could find their HEA. It was so frustrating. I love these two together. The story has angst, action, secrets, and betrayal. It’s an easy read and I hated for it to end, although with the chapters at the end, I cannot wait for the next stories in this series and Gray’s story to come out. The men of Perdition MC are a family and loyal to each other, well most of them are anyways. I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend it to readers that enjoy shifters, MC’s, angsty, Alpha stories.

Review of The King: Bratva Blood Duet Part One (A Dark Mafia Romance) by S. R. Jones

The King

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

How can a Pakhan and a Barrista, now IT Consultant work?

Wow! A businessman that keeps his legitimate businesses in London but is a Bratva Pakhan that hides his Bratva dealings in plain sight. She’s plain, a nerd and yet he can’t get her out of his mind. She is not his usual type and everyone around him questions his motives when he brings Cassie into his personal business and then has to protect her because she lied to him. Konstantin Silvanov is a rich, powerful man. He walked away from Cassie once when he found out she was engaged, but now she has been put right back in his path and he won’t walk away again until he’s had his fill of her.

Cassie has a job that she thought she really wanted, and enjoyed doing it until her fiancé, and a manager at the company she now works at, thanks to his help, decided that she was not enough for him and cheated on her and then broke up with her. Now Cassie’s life is not a sunny as it once was. She finds herself in a situation after a night of drinking and going home with a guy for a one-night stand, and the man that she dreams about finds her in his kitchen. Could things be any worse for Cassie? As a matter of fact, now that she is back in his path, yet.

I loved this story. After reading The Soldier and getting the background on Konstantin and the meeting of Konstantin and Cassie, I wanted to read The King, and I could not wait for The War after reading it. The characters in this Duet have been through a lot and this story really takes them through so much more. Konstantin and Cassie did not have an easy childhood, and they are so different from each other in life, but their circumstances bring them together and they have to figure out what they are feeling and fight for what they want. Cassie is so unsure of herself and her confidence and childhood almost hold her back from what she could have. She’s afraid in her situation, but she feels safe with Konstantin. I loved the characters, all of them, and the story is full of action, betrayal, danger, and some steamy scenes. I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend it. I look forward to The War: Bratva Blood Duet Part Two.

Review of Inheritance: A Dark Romance (Fragile Ties Book 2) by Jennifer Bene

Inheritance

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5

She could gain more than the money and business her father owned, but will it be worth it?

The second book in the Fragile Ties series continues on with David and Lianna’s story and the turmoil they are going through over Lianna’s family in France and David’s desire to keep her save and protect her from the Faure family. He wants to protect her from the danger they present. However, if he keeps her from her family, he could lose her for good.

David only knows hate and his mind won’t change when it comes to the Faure family and Lianna’s father, even though he’s now gone. Lianna is drifting and feeling lonely, so when her uncle shows up, she has a hard time turning him away and wants more answers than what she has gotten from David. The only trouble is, she isn’t sure who to believe and she’s hurting David by speaking to her uncle.

I enjoyed this second part of the series but didn’t find it to draw me in like the first part, Destruction. While it has the intrigue, suspense and darkness of Destruction, it didn’t pull right in and draw my attention like the first book. With that being said, I still enjoyed the book and am looking forward to Redemption. I am actually excited to read Redemption. While the first part of the book didn’t pull me in and hold me prisoner to the book, the ending did. I am looking forward to reading how the Faure family will treat Lianna and David and if they are in as much danger as David seems to think they are. I give this book a 4.5-star review and recommend it to readers like mafia, suspense, danger, and dark desires. Ms. Bene knows how to write dark stories and this series does not disappoint at all.

My ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review of Destruction (Fragile Ties, #1) by Jennifer Bene

Destruction

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

This story is dark, twisted, and interesting.

David is keeping a promise to his father and the only way to complete it could mean his death, but he has to destroy the Mercier’s and reveal their secrets. His plan is dangerous and crazy, but he knows that he has to do it if he is going to get retribution for his family.

Lianna is the only child of Robert Mercier and has no idea of his real identity or what he can do. She gave up her dream job to work get her MBA and start working at her father’s business learning the ropes and showing that she has the smarts to do the job, and that she earned her position, not just by being blood. The only trouble is that Robert Mericier’s secrets are dangerous and could get people killed, including Lianna.

This is a story of secrets, danger, and twisted attraction. The characters are dark, dangerous, and ready to blow things out of the water and reveal the secrets that have been kept for years. If you like dark, twisted stories with characters that will have you scratching your head, you will enjoy this story. I give it 5-stars and look forward to more of these characters and the answers to my questions from Destruction. The danger in this story keeps the pages turning and the steam constantly releasing from the book.

K.L. Savage decided they were tired of looking for the kind of books they wanted to read. They had an itch that needed to be scratched, and as every girl knows, nothing scratches better than an alpha.

They write about gritty, alpha males, sometimes their dark sides, and the women
they love.

If you have the same itch, their alpha males should fix that.

MY REVIEW:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

The Ruthless Kings find themselves in a situation again, thanks to one of their own.

James “Poodle” has a dark deep secret that he hasn’t shared with his club and he feels that he can’t share it. The only problem with keeping secrets, they come back to haunt you and could get you killed by those that should be able to trust you. Poodle’s past can’t be let go of, and it’s about to be laid to rest, finally.

Melissa has not had a good life, her “father” never showed her any kindness, only destroyed her and her life. Being rescued from the New Jersey club saved her life and gave her new lease on life. Her attraction to Poodle surprises her and she’ll find her way out of the hell she has lived in most of her life.

Poodle and Melissa have no idea that their lives are intertwined and that when they lay one’s past to rest, they’ll be laying both of their pasts to rest. I love the Ruthless Kings and Poodle’s story was just as good as the other three. Poodle is not at all the person he lets others see. His devotion to his poodle, Lady, is entertaining. I love reading these books, they make me laugh, cry, and sit on the edge of my seat waiting for the suspense to ease. Poodle’s story is dark, but it’s a great read. The way that Reaper deals with insubordination or trust with his members is dark and lethal, but his men seem to take it and deal with it. I give this story a 5-star review and look forward to more. I really NEED Tongue’s story, but I look forward to Skirt’s story next.

My ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review of Carson: A Dark Irish Mafia Romance (Dangerous Doms) by Jane Henry

Carson

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Carson Flynn is a smart man that doesn’t look anything like a member of the Clan. He is a single father, raising his little girl on his own since his girlfriend died in a car accident. He is the accountant for the Clan, but he is so much more, and no one would know it by looking at him.

Megan is the cousin to the McCarthy Clan and is protected by family. She was raised with them and knows they have their way of life, but it’s not in her face and she can deny it mentally because of that. She has a weakness for single fathers and when she sees Carson with his daughter, Breena, she knows that she has lost herself to that weakness.

Carson and Megan have been around each other for years, but it’s almost as if neither one of them has noticed the other until now. Carson has always been a quiet, reserved man but now another side of him has surfaced and there is only member of the Clan that knows what’s going on with Carson and what he is up to. His dark side has surfaced, and he needs to keep Megan protected and safe from the O’Gregor Clan. He’s trying to figure out what happened to his girlfriend, Eve.

I love this series and I believe Carson is probably my favorite so far. Carson is dark and broody, smart and sexy! If you like books with dark, broody, smart, sexy men, then you will love Carson. The McCarthy Clan men are dangerous, dark, and loyal to the Clan. I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend it to readers. There will be family secrets revealed. The women of the McCarthy Clan are strong, sassy, and keep their men on their toes all the time. I love the women as much as the men in this series. I cannot wait for Lachlan’s story.

Excerpt
Every minute that ticks by, butterflies tickle the inside of my rib cage as I wait for Devious to waltz through the bedroom. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to being married.

I’ve never slept in a bed with a man. When I would visit Atrocious, I’d sleep
in his guest room.
The cotton sheets stick to my exposed skin, and I turn on my side. I have on my tank top and pajama pants. Nothing fancy because I’m not going to have sex with Devious, and I’m going to let him know up front. My pulse jumps as Devious strolls through the room. He’s no longer sporting the tux he wore at the wedding, but black t-shirt and gray sweatpants. Those sweatpants should be banned from the male species as it shows off the outline of his dick. My cheeks flush and my legs shake.
He’s stupid beautiful. It makes me sick to be sexually attracted to him.
He slides under the black blanket, faces me, and stares into my eyes. Silence falls between us, and the only thing I hear is the air conditioner pumping out cold air.
“We can’t have sex,” I tell him. “I’m sick.”
“Sick how?”
“Uh. My stomach hurts, and I spoke with the doctor. She said I can’t have sex for a while because I have a type of illness that won’t allow me to have a baby.”
He tilts his head to the side, a frown paints his face. He stands up from the bed.
“What’s the name of the illness?”
“I don’t know.”
“How long have you had it?” The lines around his mouth crinkles.
“Um… three years.”
“You need to be punished for lying.”
I freeze, and my eyes widen. “What?”
“Pull down your panties, lie down with your ass in the air.”
“I’m not lying!” I sit up on my knees.
“How fucking stupid do you think I am?” He folds his hand across his chest. “If you really were sick, you would know the name of your illness.”
I shift my gaze from him.
“Pull down your pants. Now, Roselyn Vitali.” He grits his teeth. “I’m tired of your disrespect.”
“How am I being disrespectful?”
“Let me refresh your memory.” He rubs his thumb on his chin. “When you tried to get me upset at breakfast by saying you’re going to the club to lose your virginity to someone else. That’s you being spiteful because I made you wear a necklace. Then you were being very disrespectful towards my brother and almost cost me a three million dollar deal. That’s you being childish and mean. And you lied to me about being sick. That’s you wanting to take control of the situation. Apparently, you don’t respect me. “
My palms are sweaty, and I chew on my tongue.
Apparently, he’s been watching my behavior because all of it is true. I sit up on my knees, straighten my back as heat creeps up on the back of my neck. I knew the real
Devious was going to come out sooner or later.
“Pull down yo—”
“Devious, I’m so—”
“No, you’re not. You’re only sorry because you got caught. You need to learn to respect me. If I force you to do it, you won’t like it.”
With trembling hands, I pull down my pants, bending down on the bed with my ass in the air, giving him a direct view of my vagina. His large frame hovers over me, and my pulse jumps. His hand smacks across my delicate flesh, and I grit my teeth as I
keep the tears at bay. Devious is already trying to break my spirit, but I won’t let him.
I get up and pull my pants over my hips. “Don’t put your hands on me ever again.” I stick my hand in pants, digging my nails into my thigh. The pain of him slapping my ass arouses me in places I don’t want. Humiliation dampens my cheeks.
“You will obey me. You will show me respect or be prepared to be punished.”
From the corner of my eye, I watch him go to the mini bar next to the walk-in closet.
“If you didn’t want to have sex, then you could have said so. I have zero tolerance for liars,” he murmurs.
The sound of the amber liquid pours into the crystal glass fills the air. Tears stream down my face, and he waltzes over, using his callous thumb to wipe the tears from under my eyes. His touch is gentle and warm. And the odd thing is, I want him to touch me everywhere. I turn my head away from his touch, but he grips my chin. His violet eyes meet mine. “Just because I’m kind to you doesn’t mean you can take advantage of me. I plan to be the best husband I can be, but take my kindness for weakness, and I’ll be the cruelest person you’ll ever meet.” He sips his bourbon as his eyes still bore into mines.
My throat bobs as I swallow hard. His words chill to the bone. “I’m not going to take your shit, Cayden.”
He chuckles. “I control thousands of men across the U.S. I’m sure I can tame a
nineteen-year-old naïve girl.”
“Good luck.”
The bastard has the audacity to smirk at me. He rubs his thumb on my bottom lip, and I’m tempted to nip it just to see him squirm. “You’re going to make this marriage interesting, and I’m going to enjoy every minute of it.”
