My Review of “HOT SEAL Redemption”, by Lynn Raye Harris

Alexi Kamarov, a Navy SEAL that is not looking for anything along the lines of a permanent relationship. Upon his latest return from a deployment, he is disturbed and woken up by a loud knocking on his door. When he answers the door, he is surprised to see a woman standing there accusing him of be a scoundrel. The oldest of six in an immigrant family, Alexi is well aware of what it takes to care for a little one, and is a natural.

Bailey Jones, a woman who is determined to find out why her sister left her baby with Bailey and where she’s gone. She has a name of who the father is and she needs help with little Ana, so she starts by pounding on the “fathers” door. Although he swears that little Ana is not his.

Alexi tells Bailey that he is not a nice person, but Bailey doesn’t believe him. His actions don’t agree with what he is saying. Shes doomed to fall for this hard bodied, kind hearted, and sexy SEAL, whether she wants to or not.

I loved this story. This was my first book in this series to read, but now I want to go back and read the others before it. I love Alexi and Bailey. They are perfect together and they are both strong people who care very deeply for those they love. I look forward to the next story as well. I have grown to love all of the HOT SEAL Team and want to know their stories. This book is very well written and I hated for the book to end. I was actually looking for more to read of it when I finished it. I wanted more of Alexi and Bailey as well as Neo, Kayla, and Blade. I look forward to reading more of this series soon. I give this book a 5 star rating. Beautifully done Ms. Harris

Mitch Martinez, a Navy SEAL and a man who can get most women to drop their panties for him with a smile. He is divorced from his high school sweetheart, and the father of two young children. He would do anything for his children and he would love to be able to see them more often, but his ex-wife took them and moved to Las Vegas after the divorce. He knows he can’t have full custody with his job, but seeing them more regularly would be nice.

Ashley Pierce, an NCIS agent who is like a dog with a bone when she believes something and is trying to get to the bottom of an investigation. She is still hung up on the case of Joaquin Cruz. She still doesn’t think that the case is closed or that all of the people involved have been arrested or dealt with. She is now investigating the death of United States Navy Officer, Paul Thompson. She doesn’t quit believe that he committed suicide.

Mitch and Ashley are reacquainted in Smug after their meeting in Season 1 when Ashley was posing as a stripper named Autumn. Now she has to investigate the death of a Navy Officer and Mitch was the one to find the body. Is he a suspect, should he be, or did he just happen upon the body? Ashely has to fight herself and her feelings for Mitch,  while trying to get to the bottom of Paul’s death.

I missed a few books in Season 1 and now I have to go back and read them. This story brought back the steaminess of these Navy SEALs and their strength as a team. Ashley will have to work through some things in this series. She is going to find some things that will make her question a lot of her younger life, and she will have to overcome some doubts that she has for those around her. This book is well written and ends with a cliff hanger. It is a short read, but the story will keep you turning the pages to find out what will happen next. I look forward to more in this season to find out the answers to the questions this book left me with.

Ms. Albertson knows how to write about sexy SEALs and steamy scenes. I have read a few of her books and have never been disappointed. I look forward to reading more. I give this story a 4.5 star review and can’t wait until the next book with Mitch, Ashley, Grant, and Mia.

Review of “Roses & Thorns”, by Bry Ann

Roses & Thorns

This is a great story! I had a hard time putting this book down. It drew me in right away and kept me turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next. As bad as it sounds, I really liked Sven, even though he was manipulative and dark.

Sven Xander is a man who knows what he wants, and will do what it takes to get it. He is in the Mafia as a soldier, but he wants to move up. He knows that he has to plan things just right to get where he wants to be.

Rose Bellemore is a nurse working in a psychiatric hospital. She lives for her job. She has a dark past that she is running from and trying to avoid. Her patients give her the only joy in her life.

This is a dark romance story. There are a lot of people in this story that are dark and twisted, but the fact that the Boss and Sven have a soft side is great! They both find the one woman who can bring that side out in them. While these women seem to be doormats, in reality, they are very strong women and they stand up to these men. They may be scared to death while doing it, but they do it none the less. These women have been through a lot but they are still compassionate and kind. I give this story a 4.5 star review and I look forward to the next book in the series.

Review of “The Wolf’s Prize: Hinterland Book 4”, by K. T. Harding

I enjoyed this series and enjoyed the twists and turns that are in the story. The anticipation kept me reading even when I shouldn’t have been, but I needed to find out what was going to happen.

Raleigh Douglas had some hard decisions to make in this final book. She faced a lot of things that she dreaded and yet she came out on top of it. Her life will never be the same again. The people she loves will cause her to question her beliefs and her life.

Bishop is back, but he has a lot to overcome as well. After being rescued and the torture he went through while he was a captive, has left him damaged and he has to make a decision when it comes to saving his life. Will he agree to it or not?

This was the final book in the Hinterland Series. I hated to see it end. There is still more to find out about Bishop and Raleigh, and now we are introduced to Ilkha. How will she fair working with Raleigh. Will her life turn out like Raleigh’s or will it be different. I give this story a 4 star review. I wish there were more to come. With the changes that Bishop and Raleigh went through in this story, there have to be more changes to come in Hinterland as well.

Wow! I did not expect that ending.

“This one comes with a warning – a steamy suspense-ridden psychological thriller – think Silence of the Lambs meets 50 Shades and hold on tight! S C Cunningham writes with a skilled mix of fueled tension, dark humour and pulsating sex scenes. Grab a glass of wine, close the bedroom door and read alone!” This is from the blog tour material I received. I have to agree with every word! This story had me cringing, getting excited, and getting upset while reading it.

David Howard, a young boy who is sent to boarding school and is too pretty for his own good. He has had a lot of bad things happen to him and to cope, he has turned to the dark side. His love for his sister, Helen’s best friend, Tara is thrown back at him by Tara after she receives a letter confessing his love.

Tara Warr is a bit older and does not carry the same feelings for David as he carries for her. She feels that they are both too young to know what love is and in her reply letter to David she tells him that she is not the woman for him. Unfortunately, this is just another thing to push David over the edge.

I enjoyed reading this book and I look forward to the next in the series. This was my first read of S. C. Cunningham’s books, but I look forward to reading more. I loved the characters in this story. Seb, Franco, Michael and Anton were great and fun to read. Helen is a little off…Josie, I am unsure of still.

Great job! I give this book 4.5 stars and look forward to reading more of the trilogy.
