Review of His Refused Mate: Katu Wolves, Book 1 by Jade Marshall @JadeMar74119380

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 out of 5

A good quick read.

Peyton is the daughter of the Alpha, but when he took off and didn’t return, the pack took her and made her their maid. She owes them for taking care of her and giving her a roof over her head, even if she is treated as a slave. When she turns eighteen everything changes, and she becomes a free of the chains that have bound her.

Caine is the Alpha of the Katu Wolves and is looking for his mate. He is lonely and wants to find the one person to complete him. As “a wolf shifter he wants nothing more than to find his mate, protect his family, and serve his pack”. Too bad that he is unable to find his mate within his pack.

Peyton is free to roam whenever and wherever she wants now that she has left the pack, she was raised in. When the new Alpha figures out that Peyton is the key for him to become a true Alpha, he goes looking for her. Caine has his sights on his mate, but he must convince her that he’s not going to hurt her. Peyton finds her home and acceptance in a new pack and is called upon for advice by those in her new pack as the Alpha’s mate. I enjoyed this quick read and the characters in this story. I give the book a 4-star review. If you are looking for a quick shifter story to read with determined Alphas pick up His Refused Mate, by Jade Marshall.

Review of The Rebel: Kingmakers Series, Book 2 by Sophie Lark

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Wow, this book got darker and yet it was perfect. College has never been so dangerous!

These are Mafiosi’s that were born and raised in the world, so I wouldn’t expect anything less. Although it also seemed to bring the darkness out in some that would normally not show it.

I love Miles and Zoe; their love story was beautiful and brought out the real person in both. Zoe’s able to be herself with Miles and he’s able to find the lightness within himself. There are so many angles being brought out in this series and I am anxious to find out about so many of the characters in the series. The scenes are so detail oriented I can picture them in my mind while reading. I love the lengths that Miles will go to help Zoe and bring her peace of mind, but I also love that Miles is like that with those he is closest to. He really is the best parts of both of his parents. I also loved the Extra Scene, it was great! I love the series and cannot wait to read The Bully and The Spy. I am anxious to find out who that is. I really want more of Ares too, he’s such a great character as well. I give this book a 5-star review and if you have not read any of Sophie Lark’s books but are a fan of Mafia stories, you’ll love any of her books.

Review of Freak: Royal Devils MC, Chicago, IL, Book 3 by Erin Trejo

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Katrina is finally living the life she wants. She’s running the bakery her mom left her and she lives with her best friend. Too bad she’s in a relationship with a man that can only make her happy in one way. Her life takes another turn and she’s in danger of her life ending tragically.

Freak is a man that is happy with his brothers and his MC. He and the other Royal Devils live life on their terms. None of them had a great childhood. When Freak’s older sister contacts him looking for refuge, he’s leery but lets her come and stay at the compound. They are not close, and she hasn’t been around the club in years.

Once again Erin Trejo has written a book that blew me away. I am loving this series and the Royal Devils. They are all men that’ve survived a rough childhood and have a close friendship since they grew up together. This story is action packed, a tearjerker, steamy, and a page turner. I love the characters and I think that Freak has now become my top Royal Devil. He is not a man that shows his vulnerable side, but it comes out when he is around Katrina and Psycho. He can talk Psycho through some episodes that could lead him down a path of despair. All of these men have a dark side, but the light they find when they find the woman that makes them whole brings out a whole new side. I loved the book, and I cannot wait to read more in the series. I’m looking forward to Preacher’s book. I give this book a 5-star review. If you love MC, damaged characters that find a way to heal and sassy, strong women you’ll love the Royal Devils MC.

Review of Steel Empire: Broken Cross Series, Book 3 by Bri Blackwood @BriBlackwood2 @GiveMeBooksPR

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Anais Monroe is in danger and while Damien Cross thought it was due to something her father had gotten himself and her into, he is finding out that the danger stems from his past and he has no clue where to begin to end the danger and bring Anais home safely.

I loved this conclusion of Damien and Anais’s trilogy, but I did not see that coming at all. The twist in this story was a surprise. I was expecting something completely different, but I was happy with the outcome. Anais and Damien finally figure out their love, but they have a way to go to their HEA. The danger must be neutralized before they can be happy. I love the characters and the story of these two. I am excited for more though and am looking forward to Shadow Empire. The men are dark, dangerous, Alpha, and sexy. The women are sassy and courageous. I give this story a 5-star review and suggest you pick up the first book in the trilogy and meet Damien and Anais.

Review of Mercy: Ruthless Hellhounds MC #1 by K.L. Savage @klsavage_author @GiveMeBooksPR

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

“Have Mercy”.

Wow, where do I start with this book? I loved everything about this story, and I want more. Mercy, Brandon, and Michelle were such great friends and tragedy seemed to befall them constantly. I loved so much of their weeks together and that they had such a connection between all of them.

Mercy and Michelle had a once in a lifetime love story, just like Daphne and Tongue. Hopefully their stories will end differently. With Tongue and Mercy and the rest of the Ruthless Kings behind them maybe their story will have a better ending.

I love the characters in this story and the way it was written. It was such a heartbreaking story and the love that Mercy had for Michelle has transferred to Daphne, but in a fatherly way. Even though I knew the outcome of Michelle and Mercy’s story, I was still hoping for the best for these two. How could I not? They had such a deep love for each other, and they were made for each other. I give this story a 5-star review and I am so looking forward to more of this new branch off series.

Sweet Adeline: Lone Star Rangers, Book 2 by K. L. Ramsey @KLRamsey5

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Adeline Holloway is the younger sister of Anders Taylor’s wife, Texas. She had a rough split from her high school sweetheart and had to make a life for her and her little girl. She had no college education or work experience, but when she needed to step up to the plate, she did, and she did a great job providing for her and her daughter.

Dalton Landry worked for the FBI and after an undercover job went south, he was wanted by both sides of the law. He needed to clear his name and knew that the only person that could help him was Anders Taylor, his previous boss. So, he planned to get to him and ask for help before he could be apprehended or worse.

I loved Landry and Adeline’s story. It was dangerous, action packed, and redeeming. When Adeline finds herself in danger and no way out that she can see, she blames Dalton for letting her down. Could her trust issues with Dalton be a result of her ex-husband? She has a lot to work out and with the danger still lurking around, she has no choice but to accept Dalton’s offer of protection. It is also an opportunity for Dalton to possibly regain his life. In the process of clearing his name, Dalton has made some conclusions about things, his old team and how it was possible that one of them was working against the FBI and finding a family that Dalton didn’t know he was looking for. I loved this book and give it a 5-star review. I am looking forward to reading Dash of Regret.

MY ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ REVIEW

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Wow! I loved this story. The characters were so likeable, with the exception of one, but I loved most of them. I loved Miss Etta. She’s a riot! The suspense, steam and plot of the story were great, and I had a hard time putting this book down. I give this story a 5-star review and am ready for Redemption Road.

New York City is a long way from Berry Springs, in more ways than distance. When Grey Dalton has finally hit bottom in New York City, married to a man that doesn’t love her, trying to recover from a tragic loss, and losing her job, she finds herself in a situation where she can either stay and try to fix what’s broken or she can move on and away to fix what is broken. She decides that now is as good a time as any to fulfill the promise she made her cousin so many years ago. So, she packs up what she desires, along with her lavender plant and drives to Berry Springs to see the house she purchased over the internet. The in-person sight of her new home is nothing like she had expected from the photos she saw.

Grey has a lot to overcome and to fix, but her new home will keep her pretty busy and when the hot shot hotelier shows up with an offer to purchase her newly purchased house, the sparks are noticeable, but is this man good for her? Her chance meeting with another man after her car breaks down in her front yard, has electricity running through her whole body, this man is different from the hotelier. He owns and operates his own garage, and he has a way of frustrating Grey with the conversation they have from the beginning. Grey is meeting a lot of new people in Berry Springs and her new neighbor; Miss Etta is probably the best character in the book. She’s not afraid to say what’s on her mind and what comes out of her mouth can be very comical. She’s a gossip, small town character that knows everything about everyone. She’s also kind, caring, and Grey’s first friend in town. The only thing I can say about the two men that cause sparks for Grey, I would definitely go with the man in the cowboy hat, dirty jeans, and calm demeanor over the expensive three-piece suit.

A ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review of Take Me: Dark Odyssey, Book 5 by Faith Summers @HiddenGemsBooks

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Christian Giordano wants to prove his worth and gain his place in the family, but when it seems that things are stacked against him and his own father doesn’t show faith in him his whole world feels like it’s about to implode. The only light in his life right now is the beautiful Angel that he hired to dance in his club The Dark Odyssey. His current theme is Heaven and Hell, and Lilly St. James is his depiction of Heaven.

Lilly St. James feels as though she’s hit bottom, but in order to provide for her daughter and keep her and her daughter safe, she has to take the job dancing in The Dark Odyssey and do as she is asked since she stated on her contract that anything was possible. However, she’s not prepared for what her path forward will be once she meets Christian Giordano. Her world is about to be turned upside down again and there is not guarantee that she will walk away safe this time.

I love the Dark Odyssey books and Christian’s did not disappoint. Christian is a man that just wants to prove that he can contribute to the family business along with the rest of his cousins and his brother, and not just be the bookkeeper and run The Dark Odyssey. His own brother and father seem to continue to look at him as the youngest and not capable of handling the business. Giordano Inc will take a couple of hits and Christian will be the one to take the blame for the issues, but when his father puts him on the spot, Christian may just end up giving his life for his family and the family business. Christian is just as lethal, possessive, and protective as the other Giordano’s, but his loyalty is above the older generation, just like his cousin’s. If you like mafia, possessive men, Alpha protectors, and women that bring these men to their knees, you will love the Dark Odyssey, and you may just get to read about your wildest fantasy in the process.

Review of Shadowland: A Horror Anthology by Dan Alatorre

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 out of 5

While I read a lot of dark, twisted romance, and thriller stories, I am not really a huge fan of horror stories, however, I did read a few of the stories in Shadowlands: A Horror Anthology. I enjoyed the Shadowlands story as well as the Passages: Shadowland part 2, by Dan Alatorre. I found these stories to be more along the lines of a haunted thriller, I also read The Prodigy by Colton Berman and while I liked the story, it was not something I would normally pick up to read. I enjoyed the thrill and suspense of the stories. I will read a few more of the stories in the anthology off and on, but it’s not a book I would jump to reading all of the stories in at once. I am giving the book a 4-star review because I loved the intrigue and thrill of the Shadowland and Shadowland 2 stories, they were interesting, intriguing and thrilling to read with the ending being a huge surprise.

Review of Reckless Soul (Dirty Souls MC, Book 2) by Emma Creed @authoremmacreed @GiveMeBooksPR

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 3.5 out of 5

Nyx keeps to himself; he knows the ways things are in foster homes and this one is no different. He keeps quiet and tries not to engage with the other kids in the house, but when he gets pushed too far, he can’t help but fight back. The only thing that gives him hope is the mysterious man that showed up one day and made his foster dad cower. Now he’s determined to find out who the man was and why he was protecting Nyx. The only thing he has to go on is the hooded skull on the back of the man’s vest. The path he’s on now will bring more danger to his life than living in foster homes did.

Ella Jackson is the daughter of a Federal judge, but her life is not close to what most think it is. Her whole life is about to take a turn that she may never be able to recover from. She’s just turned eighteen and is almost ready to graduate high school. The problem is that she’s a girl that tries to keep her head down and herself invisible, especially at school. Just because she comes from a prominent family does make her life golden or make her safe.

I enjoyed this book and the story, but I had an issue with the writing. The writing is a mixture of American English, British, and southern slang. While the story takes place in Colorado, it was hard to see the reasoning behind some of the wording used in the story and dialogue. I really like the story and characters and will read more, but I did have a real problem with some of the dialogue and words used. I give this book a 3.5-star review only because I could not wrap my mind around the use of the different wording used in the story.
