⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 out of 5 Review of Tanner: The Splintered Hearts MC Series, Book 3 by Nicola Jane

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 out of 5

He’s loved her since he was seventeen. Obsessed with her and would do anything for her. Why would he break her heart?

Tanner doesn’t remember a lot about the night the changed everything in his life. He just remembers waking up and finding his two best friends and the woman that will ruin his life. He can’t give up on the only woman he’s ever loved, so he’ll keep an eye on her, no matter if she lives at the club or not.

Brook has only ever loved Tanner and they had their life together. Now her life is in her own hands, and she will live it on her terms. Changing a lot about her, including the way she dresses and making new friends. When she decides to move on, will it be a mistake, or the best decision she’s made yet?

I really enjoyed this book, even though it was my first book in this series. I will go back and read books 1 & 2 though. Tanner and Brook have a lot of hurdles to jump over, and the club is behind them all the way, but Brook wants nothing to do with her old life. Tanner is at a loss as to what to do. He’s lost, hurting, and trying to stay above water. When he learns that his past is coming back to seek revenge, secrets are revealed, as well as betrayal. I loved the characters in this story, and I look forward to reading more of The Splintered Hearts MC books. I give this story a 4-star review.

Set the trap. Let people walk into it. She’s walked into it, and now, I need to reel her in completely. Make her trust me. Learn what she’s hiding.

I pocket the phone again, opting to keep it until I’m satisfied, and turn back toward my waiting vehicle, walking over the two dead men on my way. By the time I’m in front of the driver’s side door, I have one of The Elixir staff on the phone.

“There’s something you need to deal with out here,” is all I bark into the phone before hanging up and focusing on Della, who still stands on the sidewalk, a little dumbfounded. I know she won’t run because I have something of hers, and clearly, she’s scared at what I’ll learn about her, which means safety is now secondary from her perspective.

“Get in.”

She looks around, her big eyes scanning the street before glancing toward the dead men. Debate rolls over her expression in the form of a downturned mouth before she side-steps them and walks toward the car, stopping on the passenger side. I watch her, brows lifting slowly as I silently command her to enter the vehicle.

“Don’t make me repeat myself. Men have died for less.”

“You wouldn’t kill a woman.”

Some made men won’t because they view women as people too gentle to do harm, to be needing protection instead; that if they were to harm them, they have an unfair advantage. I don’t think like that because it’s sometimes women who are the nastiest of snakes. They use their gender as protection, knowing they can do anything and walk away unscathed. Women and men are equal in their ability to lie, steal, cheat, and betray, and for that, I will hurt a woman if the situation calls for it.

“You don’t know what I’ll do, so if you value your life, get inside the car.”

She levels her gaze at the vehicle. “First, my phone.”

My teeth grind together, annoyance working at my nerves. It’s like she’s completely forgotten the part about her being in my debt, not the other way around.

Gripping the top of my door, I’m seconds away from going around the car and throwing her ass in the back myself. “You are in no place to bargain, Della. Last time I’m repeating myself. Get in the fucking car or I’ll find you a place to sit, and I promise, you won’t enjoy it.”

The skin between her eyes furrows and her nose does this cute little flaring thing as the spark of fight is still lit inside her, but she finally obeys me and ducks inside the car.

Fucking Christ. I don’t know what I’m getting into with this woman, but already, I’m exhausted trying to figure it out. I slip into the driver’s seat and immediately start the car, suddenly eager to get back home and be alone with her.

In my peripheral vision, I watch how she squirms, pressing her legs together and moving her body as far away from me as possible, right up against the passenger door. Her head is angled away, watching as we drive down Sainte-Catherine Street.

She remains silent, wisely not asking for her cellphone again. I maneuver us quickly through the other vehicles on the road, managing to make it to the highway in record time, then up toward the Corsetti mansion.

As I pull off toward my house, I wonder how she made it there the first time. Mentally, I list the things I’ve learned about her, and what I actually know about her. Her name certainly isn’t Anna, but if that’s what she went with, it means there was an Anna on the guest list. Did Della know and choose a name that would guarantee to get her inside or did the name end up on the list because she managed to get it there? Who was Anna supposed to be? Who brought her to my mansion, and why? Is this some giant ploy to get close to me and she created this whole persona to do just that? The girl I met last night avoided me at the party though, so why would she run off when she gained my attention? Or is that part of the game she’s conducting?

And why do I feel like I’m part of some malevolent plan? I design the games, no one else, and Della will learn this very soon.

I pull into the driveway, throwing the car into park, and leave it right in front of the house, rather than inside the multi-car garage we have. I’ll get someone to put it away later. Before exiting the car, I take her cell from my pocket and toss it onto her lap. The only use it has is gaining her submission, and now that we’re at my house, her phone is meaningless.

“Next time, don’t leave it around a stranger’s house.”

She grasps it eagerly, barely glancing at it before sliding it into her small purse. Strange, for someone to be so excited about their technology and not even give it the attention I’d assume she would have.

I get out of the car and by the time I make it to her side, she’s also opening the door. Finally learning the rules.

“Come.”

Without looking at her, I enter the mansion, walking past the single soldier stationed by the door. She’ll follow because she has nowhere else to go. I lead us down the hallways and toward my office.

At the doorway, I stand aside, letting her go first. She stops at the door and glances wearily at me, her brows dipping over her eyes.

“How do I know you won’t hurt me once we get in there?”

“That depends. Do you deserve to be hurt?”

Her lips press together and instead of responding, she enters my office. Her silence tells me everything though.

She’s stacking up her falsities, but they’ll all come crashing down soon. Liars can only maintain deceit for so long before they crack. And I’ll be the one to make her crack. To shatter and spread those broken pieces.

She’ll reveal everything before long.

My Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

A story full of suspense, betrayal, a dark Alpha, and danger.

Della is a woman thrown into a world that is dangerous, unpredictable, and heart pounding. When she’s left to fend on her own in the house that her mother married into she has is like Cinderella fighting to stay alive and keep her sister protected and safe.

Nico is the second born son into the Corsetti family, but due to circumstances beyond his control, he is the heir apparent of the family and is now the Underboss to his father. He is a man that does things his own way and is not ready to settle down like his mother and father want him to do. When they set up a ball to have the eligible women that would be a good match for Nico, he finds a woman that holds his interest, but will she destroy him, or will she be the perfect match?

I really liked this action packed, fast paced story that was hard to put down. There’s tragedy, betrayal, deception, and danger all wrapped into it. This was my first read of M. L. Philpitt, but I would love to go back and read her other books. Her writing style is one that I really like, and her characters are great. Della may not have been born into the mafia, but her time with her stepfather has taught her enough to survive. I give this book a 5-star review and I look forward to more in this series.

AUTHOR BIO

A.K. Evans is a contemporary romance author of over twenty published novels. While she enjoys writing a good romantic suspense novel, Andrea’s favorite books to write have been her extreme sports romances. That might have something to do with the fact that she, along with her husband and two sons, can’t get enough of extreme sports.

My Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Jesse and Sawyer have a history, but when Sawyer returns to her hometown looking for Jesse and protection will their past prevent him from helping her?

Sawyer moved to Maryland and stayed away from her hometown for twelve years after a tragedy and bullying took place. She needed a fresh start and thought she was good with her choice and where she was, until she wasn’t. Now with a threat hanging over her head and thoughts of her past problems, she runs back home to the one man that she knows can protect her and keep her safe, but will their history prevent that form happening?

Jesse is in a good place; he loves his job with Harper Security Ops, and he has great friends. He steers away from relationships because his heart has only belonged to one woman, but she left him and broke it twelve years ago. When he walks out of the office into the parking lot and sees that woman standing there looking at him, he’s at a loss for words and the past hurt rears its ugly head. Will he let her walk away again, or will he figure out why she left and why she returned, will he protect her and keep her safe?

These stories keep getting better with each character and their soul mates. I love the suspense, the heat, and the characters in these stories. Crushed is no exception. Jesse and Sawyer have to work through the past and open up to each other if they want to move on, or if Jesse will be able to keep Sawyer safe. The story is tragic and haunting, but it’s a great story. I laughed at parts, and I wanted to cry at parts, but ultimately, these two made me happy. I give the book a 5-star review and can’t wait for the next one in the series.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review for Dan Alatorre’s Fourth Estate: Double Blind Series, Book 4 @DAlatorreAuthor

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

A perfectly paced, suspense thriller. Sergio and Carly are on the search for a killer again. This time they are working separately and dealing with other intense issues as well. Can they find the killer, save the people, find an even keel for themselves, and still keep their jobs? It’s going to be intense.

Sergio Martin is a very good detective, even though he does outside the rules on occasion, he still gets results and discovers and apprehends the killer. His methods may not always follow his bosses, desires, but he gets the job done. The trouble is that his Lieutenant doesn’t like his methods and is looking for any way to get rid of him. When someone starts killing reporters and attempts to kill a defense lawyer, Sergio has to work to beat the clock and the killer before any more people meet their demise.

Carly has an interview and won’t be working with Sergio in the field on this case. Her day goes from bad to worse and then a case comes in that will have her working it from the precinct. Can she do as well of a job from the desk as she can in the field finding the killer and the clues? Not only does she have to deal with her interview being postponed, yet again, but her ex called and wants to meet her for dinner. Things can’t get any worse this day, or can they?

I loved this story and I love Carly and Sergio. They have great chemistry and a great working repertoire. When they have to work the case separately, it gets a bit dicey. Carly is looking at the case with a different eye and Sergio has to refrain from doing things the way he normally would, off the cuff. When they both have to work under a microscope the case almost gets away from them, but they’re professionals and they can do the job and all the other stuff will have to work out. Dan does a great job of leading the reader on a chase along with the detectives, the pace of this story is perfect, the characters as always are great, and twists in this book kept me on the edge of my seat. Dan’s Double Blind Series is right up there with a James Patterson book in my eyes. The suspense kept building throughout the book, having me guessing almost until the end as to who the killer was. I loved it and I give it a 5-star review.

🔥Review of Security Threat: Rogue Security and Investigation, Book 5🔥 by Evan Grace @agarcia6510 @CravePub

My Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 out of 5

After her brother was injured trying to safe his girlfriend, Millie and her daughter Joanna move from England to the United States. Joanna being so young, is adjusting easier and quicker than Millie is. However, the sexy Marcus, her brother’s best friend makes it easier for Millie to adjust.

Marcus has stayed away from relationships because after being in the service he knows how hard it can be on a loved one when his job is so dangerous. Working for Rogue Security is no different than the service, his job as a bounty hunter is just as dangerous and he doesn’t want to put someone he loves in danger or in position to worry about him. However, when he meets Joanna and Millie in person when they fly in, all bets are off. He finds Millie to be more beautiful in person and Joanna steals his heart right off. When Millie and Joanna find themselves in danger inadvertently, Marcus realizes that his life is better with them in it and he will protect them and care for them no matter what.

I loved this story, and the characters were great. I’ve only read a few of the Rogue Security books, but Security Threat was a great read. I look forward to catching up on the other books in the series and reading more to come in the near future. I give this book a 4-star review.

🔥NEW RELEASE and REVIEW🔥 ARO by Marie James is LIVE! @AuthrMarieJame @WildfireMarket1

 Release Date: January 5

It takes a lot to shake me, and even when I’m upset, most people wouldn’t even know it.
There was just something about the last job that kept me from keeping my cool.
I know how dangerous it is, and knew even better when I had to be carried away that day, becoming literally less of the man that entered that compound.
I was ordered to rest, recover, and recuperate, all under the watchful eyes of the team’s psychologist.
She was there to get in my head, to watch for signs that I may be a danger to myself.
She became my outlet, the calm to the storm trying to take over in my head.
There would be no problem with what we were doing because the possibility of returning to work with the Cerberus MC was never going to happen, and if there was an off-chance I would, walking away would be easy, right?

Let’s see…where to begin…

I’m inching up on the BIG 4-0. The gray hairs are doubling what seems like daily, and the wrinkles and laugh lines are more pronounced than ever.

I have an amazing husband (Married just over 15 years.)

We have two boys we’re doing our best to raise as respectful gentleman.

I have a master’s degree in criminal justice which I used to work as a juvenile probation office until deciding to write full-time in June of 2019. So that means there’s usually always some criminal/law element to my novels.

If I’m not writing; I’m reading.

My favorite genres recently are bully/reverse harem and enemies to lovers. Maybe I’m reliving my traumatic teen years through the girls who actually end up with the boys. (Not that I would change my history since it’s gotten me exactly where I need to be!)

MY REVIEW: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Wow! Such a wonderful job with this story. I love Aro and Slick and this story was done so well. It can hit very close to home with some readers, but I think it was handled with the utmost care, respect, and love that the story deserved.

Aro has to readjust to his job after a tragic job left him in the hospital in critical condition and new reality to his life. Slick has been tasked with staying with him to keep him going and to keep Kincaid and the rest of the Cerberus OG’s up to date on his progress and his mind set. When their lines become blurred and they act on their attraction to each other, their jobs are held in jeopardy, or are they?

I’ve loved the Cerberus MC books from the very first one and I find this series to continue to get better with each and every story that is written. While Harley’s story was heartbreaking, Aro’s story is so surreal and such a touchy subject for some. However, Marie James has handled it with the most care and consideration as a writer could and the result was an outstanding story. For Brynn, it’s making the right choices in her life and finding a man to see her as Brynn and not Slick. She needs Aro to be sure he sees her and not just a teammate. For Josh, it’s overcoming the obstacles that are now in his life and finding the strength to continue his life as it was prior to the tragic mission that changed his life. Knowing that he has the Cerberus family with him and behind him can heal a lot. I loved how Ugly could make things much lighter when needed. I loved this story and I look forward to more Cerberus MC books to come. I give this book a 5-star review.

MY REVIEW: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 out of 5

Rachel is a woman that is alone and wanting a family and a connection with someone that has the same blood flowing through their veins. When she makes some inquiries through the state child welfare department to find out who her father was, she finds that she has a half-brother that lives halfway across the country. She thinks she wants to go meet him, but after doing some digging into his life, she’s afraid of the man he is. With determination to find a family, she decides to take a chance and go meet him. She’s a woman that is wary of big men and not the most open person, and when she finds herself in the MC club house surrounded by big, tattooed, mean looking men, her anxiety gets the best of her, especially when one man pushes her past her boundaries. When a man steps up and defends her, she finds that he could be an exception to her anxious reaction to men.

Jack is not a warm, fuzzy, friendly prospect, but he knows he’s found his people and a family that accept him for who he is and won’t make rash judgements about him. His lack of warmth and friendliness prompts his road name of Frost. At first, he hates it, but when he begins to realize that it’s all done in jest and family camaraderie, he accepts it. His real family and best friend turned their backs on him and didn’t have faith or respect for him and it caused him to leave to find somewhere he could fit in and find a “real” family. He knows he’s found it with the Hell’s Handlers MC. When he sees the look on Rachel’s face when there’s a man in her personal space, he knows he can’t just stand back and watch, but he has no idea what his stepping in will do to his future.

I really liked this story. Jack “Frost” is a loner after his recent past, but he begins to open up and find a happiness in life again after he meets Rachel and sees her reaction to him. I love the characters and the stories in this series and Frost was no exception. I love the strength that Rachel finds to go out on her own and find her family, and I love that her half-brother opened his heart and his life to her to help her and bring her into the family. Giving her the backing she needs to be strong and giving her something she’s been missing for so long. I give this book a 4-star review and I look forward to more in this series.

Once upon a time, I was Soap, happy-go-lucky member of the Demented Sons MC in Iowa. Beneath that façade, I had a secret I couldn’t afford to get out. All of that ended when the woman I loved died in my arms.

Driven by revenge, I searched for the party responsible for her death. When all I found were dead ends, I went to the Royal Bastards MC—known for uncovering the evil of the world and exterminating it. My stipulation—I wanted to be the one to kill whoever had stolen from me.

They refused. So I did what I had to do.

I joined them.

Slaughtering a human trafficker should be easy. What I wanted was within my grasp. Except, when I needed to pull the trigger, I hesitated. Because revenge is a dish best served cold, but a fiery blonde sparked an unexpected flame within me. Plans changed, I took her prisoner, and sh*t hit the fan.

If I wanted to keep her safe, I needed to embrace my secret and pray I could control the savage beast it unleashed.

MY REVIEW: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

He has a secret; and you really don’t want to make him mad. Soap was a member of the Demented Sons until one tragic night when the club house was hit and the woman he loved was killed. Now out for revenge, the only way to get it is to join the RBMC, so he has. Now he’s known as Ares and he’s a man on mission, until he changes his mind and take a prisoner.

I loved this story of Ares’ transformation from Soap to Ares and a man with something to lose that will fight for a woman that he saved without even knowing it. This chapter of the RBMC, in Dallas, TX looks to be as interesting, entertaining and steamy as the Ankeny Chapter. All of the characters are great, and I love reading them. The RBMC is a great series and the multiple chapters and authors involved get better with each run that comes along. I can’t wait for the 5th run and the new authors that will be joining this great series. I give this book a 5-star review.

Book Tour and Review of: 📚The Librarian – DS Jason Smith Thriller, Book 20📚 by Stewart Giles @stewartgiles @Booksnall2020

THE LIBRARIAN (Detective Jason Smith book 20)

From bestselling author: Stewart Giles comes another brilliant addition to the Detective Jason Smith series

The Librarian (Detective Jason Smith #20) by Stewart Giles

Detective Jason Smith has outwitted more murderers than he cares to admit. His insight into the criminal mind is unrivaled and he’s made a career out of outsmarting the depraved and insane killers that have plagued the city of York.

But it appears someone has been doing some research on Smith’s track record. Somebody knows more than they ought to, and when people are murdered in circumstances, far too familiar to be coincidence, Smith runs out of ideas.

The answers to his questions come from an unexpected source. An octogenarian former Librarian who claims to remember everything that has ever happened in her waking life, will prove to be an unusual ally in Smith’s quest to bring down the most disturbing killer he’s ever come across.

What readers are saying about The Librarian:

Every chapter is like navigating a terrifying, haunted circus hall of mirrors maze. Hair-raising suspense explodes leading to a dynamite chilling conclusion.. – Lena

What a twisted minded read. I was all over the place reading every chapter.

Superb once again from Stewart Giles the master of writing at his best, simply the best. 5 stars.. – Booklover Bev

This is an entertaining, engaging read. A murder, mystery in itself with multiple murders and a serial killer. I thoroughly enjoyed it, so much so that I am now going to reread the previous books in the series.. – Carol

Stewart Giles – Author Bio

After reading English at 3 Universities and graduating from none of them, I set off traveling around the world with my wife, Ann, finally settling in South Africa, where we still live.

In 2014 Ann dropped a rather large speaker on my head and I came up with the idea for a detective series. DS Jason Smith was born. Smith, the first in the series was finished a few months later.

3 years and 8 DS Smith books later, Joffe Books wondered if I would be interested in working with them. As a self-published author, I agreed. However, we decided on a new series – the DC Harriet Taylor: Cornwall series.

The Beekeeper was published and soon hit the number one spot in Australia. The second in the series, The Perfect Murder did just as well.

I continued to self-publish the Smith series and Unworthy hit the shelves in 2018 with amazing results.  I therefore made the decision to self-publish The Backpacker which is book 3 in the Detective Harriet Taylor series which was published in July 2018.

After The Backpacker I had an idea for a totally new start to a series – a collaboration between the Smith and Harriet thrillers and The Enigma was born. It brought together the broody, enigmatic Jason Smith and the more level-headed Harriet Taylor.

The Miranda trilogy is something totally different. A psychological thriller trilogy. It is a real departure from anything else I’ve written before.

The Detective Jason Smith series continues to grow. I also have another series featuring an Irish detective who relocated to Guernsey, the Detective Liam O’Reilly series. There are also 3 stand alone novels.

MY REVIEW: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

DS Jason Smith and the team of detectives have seen these murder scenes before. There’s a copycat killer on the loose and the detectives will have to dig deep to figure out who the killer is and why they are copying previous murders. They’ll also get help from an unlikely citizen.

DS Smith will be introduced to a unique woman that he befriends and goes to for help during this investigation. She’s unique in the sense of why he goes to her as well as her taste in music and pets.

I really enjoyed this story and the detective work that the York police always do to find their killers. The team is always wary of Jason’s points during an investigation and now you add in DC Kerry King that feeds off DS Jason Smith’s explanations. The characters are great, and they work well together when on the job. They’re a great team of investigators and work hard to find the truth and the killer. I always enjoy a good thriller and mystery story and Mr. Giles writes stories that keep me wondering and guessing. Then he throws in a curve ball to make it more interesting, like Emily Church. I loved the way the story started with Emily and then went into the “Powers out”. I give this story a 5-star review and I look forward to more books by Stewart Giles in the future.

CRUEL PROMISES IS LIVE! MY REVIEW!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

She should have been off limits. He was told more than once to stay away from her. She wasn’t anyone that he would normally hook up with, so why was she so hard to ignore that night? Why after that night did she stay on his mind? Why when she showed up at his door did, he not know who she was?

She knew that he was out of her league, he was a rock star for Pete’s sake. However, that didn’t mean that the bad boy image was a deterrent to her, oh no, he was a huge beacon to her mind. She knew that her parents would not approve of him, but she couldn’t deny the attraction that night and she knew that she wanted him as bad as he wanted her.

This story was a beautiful, tragic, heart wrenching story. I loved Marley and Silas. They are both such great characters that went through a very hard time in their lives and in their relationship. Marley turned out to be the one woman that could tame the rock star, but could he hold her heart and keep if safe? These two were wonderful and the heartbreak and pain they went through tore my heart out of my chest. I felt so much for them. I love this series and Silas and Marley’s story was as great addition to it. I give this book a 5-star review and I look forward to more in the series to come.
