A story full of deceit, need for revenge, suspense, danger, heat and some twists.

This story was action packed with the action starting at the very beginning. Jackson is an undercover FBI Agent in a strip club that is bent on revenge of the owner of the strip club. However, his police training won’t let him lose sight of the case or of protecting Katelyn from the danger that he feels she’s in when he finds her in the office of Kevin Vick, the owner and target of all of Jackson’s hate and anger.

Katelyn is a young woman who needed cash to pay her bills and pay off her student loans. She’s unable to find a job and needs to pay her bills so she finds herself in a strip club working to make ends meet. Her best friend gave her the heads up about the job and now she’s stuck in the job with no way out. She finds herself in way over her head with the owner and the men that work for him. Little does she know that she has white knight watching her back. She believes that he’s just as dangerous and evil as the boss, but after he takes her home, she learns that she may be better off with him. She’s spunky, sassy, strong willed, and gives Jackson a run for his money at times.

Jackson left his small-town job to become an FBI Agent, after years of working with the Broken Rebel Brotherhood he needed to find himself and get closer on his past. He is given an opportunity for that when he gets called into duty earlier than anticipated and is put undercover to take down a drug dealer, the man who changed his life in one drastic night, years ago.

I love Andi Rhodes’ books, and this spin off from the Broken Rebel Brotherhood MC does not disappoint. Her writing is entertaining, action packed, full of heat, and dangerous situations that call for some tough decisions. I loved this story and the characters are so well written that it’s as if you are watching what they’re doing in real-life. The characters come to life for me in this story the same as they do in all of the books I’ve read by Ms. Rhodes. Jackson is Alpha, sexy, determined, heartbroken, and acts without thinking at times, but he is also caring, sexy, and strong. Yes, I said sexy twice. I give this story a 5-star review and cannot wait for the next book in the Bastards and Badges Novels, Slade’s going to fall so hard he’s going to hurt.

Prologue –

Somewhere in Chicago…

The chains chafed my wrists, making me wish I were still in my cage. Though it lacked privacy, the cage at least had a bed, and in there I wasn’t restrained with my arms above my head. But I was in Domenico’s domain. The small bedroom-like area was created from a previous office. There was a lamp and a mattress with a blanket, but those were the only creature comforts. The rest of the room retained both the look and smell of the rest of the decaying structure.
With no way to tell time, I wasn’t sure how long I’d been there. All I knew was that I was tired. Being held against my will caused spikes in my adrenaline, and the subsequent crashes left me drained. The small panic attacks had lessened over the past few weeks, but there was an undercurrent of strife, and I feared what would happen if things got out of control.
I stared at the bed, wishing I were on it. All that did was cause the memories of him inside me to come slamming down. The absolute owning of my body by him and him alone. The way he made me come undone.
Feelings that I shouldn’t have with his touch, but I did.
Feelings I drowned in as he consumed me.
I am Domenico’s…for now.
And that was the thought that always sent questions spiraling out of control and a spike of fear to run through me.

I was a caged bird. A pet awaiting a sentence bound to be more grim than any fairy-tale horror.
