Debt Reckoning: Teetering on the Brink – Audio Book Tour and Review @rararesources

Debt Reckoning: Teetering on the Brink

What if the greatest threat to America wasn’t war, terrorism, or China…but the trillions of dollars of debt we’ve pretended doesn’t exist?

U.S. Senator Rick Taylor has been warning anyone who’ll listen: the national debt is no longer a spreadsheet problem-it’s a ticking bomb. But in Washington, truth is toxic. Colleagues dismiss him, constituents scream about “cuts to my benefits,” and the media paints him as the villain who wants to gut Social Security.

Then the blackmail begins.

A shadowy network led by a ruthless operator making huge profits from unchecked government spending will stop at nothing to silence anyone who threatens the status quo. After Taylor’s wife is targeted in a terrifying swatting attack and a sniper’s bullet nearly ends Taylor’s life, the message is clear. Shut up… or die.

Author Bio:

Jack was introduced to thrillers when Tom Clancy’s The Hunt for Red October was published.  However, for most of his life, he was a reader rather than an author. During the 2000 Presidential election as he watched TV coverage of the Florida recount with ‘dimpled chads’ and ‘hanging chads,’ he thought an election conspiracy would be a great basis for a thriller. It wasn’t until 2020 when he retired from his career, which included management positions in corporate America and small business ownership as well as a brief stint in ministry, that he sat down to write Wayward Patriot: Preserving the Vote.

His unique approach to political thrillers rips headlines from the news and weaves them through a thrilling tale of patriotism, political corruption and crisis. He says, “when I see some major new issue or technology in the news I want to learn more about it. I enjoy sharing what I learn with others by wrapping a story around it that will engage and entertain readers.”

He and his wife, Barbara, have three grown children and seven grandchildren and divide their time between Colorado Springs and Tucson.

My Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 out of 5

This was an intriguing, suspenseful, political thriller that I enjoyed listening to. While I know it’s fiction, it hits pretty close to truth with spending, costs, and the rise of living expenses and the stalemate of income rise.

Jack Meyer has written a story that has brought up a lot of questions on how this could happen now with so much history behind us and the sad fact that history has not taught us that we need to be a unified nation. I enjoy thrillers of all types and Debt Reckoning was a very good story to listen to.

It has all of the political corruption that you would expect in a political thriller and the intrigue, suspense and danger that goes along with most thriller and Jack Meyer knows how to keep that suspense going through the whole story and keep the reader interested in knowing who those are that are pulling the strings and keeping things going that make the story intriguing and so close to the news reports happening now.

I love a great thriller and mystery and this story had all of the suspense that I enjoy in a story that keeps my interest and keeps my mind working to figure out who the bad guy(s) are. This one was not an easy guess and it surprised me when I learned who it was that was causing all of the trouble.

This was my first story by Jack Meyer, but it won’t be my last. I will be looking for more of his stories to read or listen to in the future.
