My 5⭐ Review of Class Reunion: Keep Your FRIENDS Closer (Raising the Bar Book 2) by Gail Ward Olmsted @gwolmsted.bsky.social @gwolmsted

About the Book:

She befriended me. She betrayed me. Now, she needs me.

A phone call from jail pulls attorney Lennon Gallagher back into a past she’s spent years trying to escape. Complicated doesn’t begin to describe the bond between Lennon and the caller, a former law school classmate. Now, Erin stands accused of the very violence Lennon has spent her career fighting against. It’s a conflict of interest, but isn’t everyone entitled to competent and effective legal defense?

What starts as a plea for help spirals into a murder trial that threatens to incinerate Lennon’s professional reputation as well as her upcoming marriage. Guided by her best friend, seasoned lawyer Miranda Quinn, Lennon digs for the truth, only to find a mountain of evidence that points to Erin’s guilt. The cost of loyalty is high, and the stakes are even higher as Lennon questions if Erin was ever truly her friend.

But does that make her guilty of murder?

A story of friendships, true and false, and going the extra mile for the ones we love.

MY REVIEW: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 out of 5

I absolutley loved this book! From the beginning right through to the end, the pages were full of suspense, betrayal, love, and family.

Lennon has always tried to find her place in life. From a rough childhood to becoming a lawyer, her life has not always been bright and easy. She was lucky enough to have found those that were true friends and felt like family, but she had to find out the hard way that not everyone that says they’re your friend is a true friend. Lennon is a strong character that has good morals, but when she’s faced with someone from her past, she could be bringing disaster to her life. Only time will tell.

She’s found the love of her life and is trying to plan her wedding when everything goes off the rails. She should have known that things were going too good to be true. Now she’s struggling with her personal life and her professional life and she’s not sure where to go. Her fiance and his family along with her best-friend, Miranda, and her family, will always stand beside her. Even her mother, who has changed her life around, is there for her now.

I loved the characters in this story. Lennon’s fiance, Nick Russo, is supportive, but he also knows when to tell Lennon to reach out to someone who is smart and will give good advice when she’s struggling with how to proceed with the case she finds herself being drug into. I read this book until the wee hours of the morning, because I couldn’t put it down. If I had started it earlier in the day, I would have read it all day to finish it. I look forward to more of this series by Gail Ward Olmsted to come.
