My Review:
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5
Briseis has lived a lie all of her life. Her mother didn’t survive giving her birth and she was dropped at the doorstep of a family she was told was hers. She lived a life of abuse at the hands of this supposed family of hers until she was shipped to Europe for school. It was probably the only thing in her life that was good. Although she didn’t see it as good because she felt abandoned and alone.
Santiago is looking for revenge and will go to any length to find and destroy the men that contributed to the pain in his life as a young boy. The years that he was away from his loving family are what molded Santiago into the man he is. His relationship with his father is nothing like it was when he was a young boy. He blames his father for the pain he endured, but he has no idea who his father really is either.
I loved this story and the characters are great! The story is dark, twisted, gritty and enlightening. Santiago is not a forgiving man and his determination is solid, until his feelings for Briseis start to take hold of him. The Four Dark Horsemen are deadly, dark, and loyal to each other without a doubt. Santiago also finds that the two that he was held captive with years ago will have his back as well. These men have a bond that is strong and loyal. Santiago will take what he wants and have remorse for taking Briseis and keeping the truth of her lineage to himself for as long as he can. However, it could get her killed. I give this story a 5-star review and cannot wait for more of the Four Dark Horsemen to come. If you like dark, twisted, gritty stories, you’ll love V.F. Mason’s stories and Santiago’s Conquest is a great story to read.
