A story of second chances, psycho arsonists, and a long lasting love.
Margot has loved Jake since she was a little girl in one sense or another. Her life has taken a few twists and turns and after a tragic accident in her late teens, early twenties, she decides that she needs to leave Birch, Maine to grow up, attend college, and find out who she is. With this in mind, she leaves the only man who has held her heart in his hands since she was five years old. He doesn’t want to let her go, but he also knows that she he can’t keep her in Maine. He is eight years older and knows what he wants in life and where he wants his life to go, but he has to let Margot, his Lily-girl, find her way in life and hopefully find her way back to him.
When Margot gets a text from her best-friend, Maya, in Birch, that she needs her to come home, Margot leaves immediately, no questions asked. Maya has a tragic past and if she is in trouble, there is no way Margot will ignore her text. She is not prepared for the memories that rush back when she gets near town though and the first person she sees, is the one person she wanted to avoid, Jake.
This story is full of action, great characters and some very Alpha men in blue. They are protective of their loved ones and when they find the woman that holds their heart, they will do anything to protect them. Although, they do it within the limits of the law, even if they fight themselves to do it. I give this story a 4.5-star review and immediately purchased Maelstrom and Kismet to read when I can. I could not get enough of these characters, and I am looking forward to Balls to the Wall, Remy’s story. If you enjoy reading stories with sexy police and firefighters and strong, sassy women, then you will enjoy the Birch County Blue series.
