Kara Harbinger’s only crime is having a court judge for a father. One who just happens to be presiding over the criminal case of the President of the Devil Kings MC. The DKs are about to use the biggest Achilles’ heel he’s got to bend him to their will, to buy his decision, to buy his very soul.
I want nothing to do with this job, but I can’t get out of it.
As a member of the Devil Kings MC, my life is a violent existence hinged on loyalty to the oath I took: Devil Kings before all else. I’m the club’s muscle, the brother they give the vicious, vile jobs, the dirty deeds. When it comes to my club, I do whatever they ask, whatever they need.
Then I see Kara, all sweet and innocent with her soulful eyes and sexy body.
She’s a bright light in my dark existence. In her eyes, I see an escape from
the brutal life I’ve lived for so long, a life void of feelings, emotions and
light. She gives me the faith to believe I can have more, to believe I can have
What do I do when my VP wants her taken as leverage to use against her father?
What do I do when one look at Kara threatens everything I thought I held dear?
What do I do if they want me to put a gun to her head and end her life?
I’ll have to convince her to trust me if I have any hope of getting us both out
of this alive.
He’s the only one who can save me.
I’m not supposed to want a man like Reno. He’s dangerous—a lawless, badass,
alpha biker. I know I should be afraid, but the way he looks at me, with hunger
in his eyes makes me want to become his.
I believed the lies he told me. I thought he was a good guy.
But when he takes me hostage, everything I thought about him is turned on its
Now he expects me to trust him, even as he holds me captive.
How can I trust a man whose loyalty is to his club, a club that wants me dead?

Jaxon (Gunny) is one sexy man. He is battling inside about his feelings about his brother Lock’s woman. He decides to take a job on a drilling rig to get away from Lock and his family as well as his MC brothers. On a night before he has to leave town to go back out on the rig, he sees a woman that looks a lot like Raiven, Lock’s woman. He decides to take her home and spend one night with her, little does he know that one night will change his whole life, but he won’t know it until after several months.
Avery is trying to make ends meet while working in a diner as well as going to school to study for her Masters in Sociology. She is struggling to make it, but she’s strong and determined. She grew up the system and after aging out of the system, she joined the Air Force. She’s a survivor and after her one night with Gunny, her life will change drastically and for the better.
I loved this story. The struggle that Gunny goes through to keep his feelings secret and in check, is a pure show of strength and leads him to the woman who brings him to his knees. Even though Avery is a strong woman, her strength is doubled when she is taken into the Demented Sons family and realizes that she has friends who care about her and will do anything for them. I give this story a 5-star review and now need to go back and read more of the series since this was my first read of the Demented Sons. These men are sexy, loyal to their family and friends and fun to read. If you like MC, ex-military, and sexy men with strong, sassy women, then you really need to one-click Jax and Jokers, by Kristine Allen. This will not be my last read of Ms. Allen’s work. She knows how to weave story of love, strength, suspense, danger, and sexiness.
I had a hard time reading this story because of the tears in my eyes through the whole story. Being a mother and grandmother, it hit me really hard.
The members of the Heaven Hill MC are still dealing with their emotions and thoughts after the abduction of Justice by one of their own. As well as the devastation of Mandy and Dalton’s break-up and loss. The fact that no one caught the turmoil that Travis was going through is weighing heavily on Liam and now he finds out that his own daughter is dealing with issues as well and they were almost missed. He is worried that he may have missed something and when his grandson tells him that he’s scared his mother is going to do something to hurt herself, Liam struggles with how to help her and step in to prevent more devastation to the MC and their family. I give this story a 5-star review and commend Ms. Briscoe for the way that she handled such a troublesome and touchy story, she did a great job pulling all of the feels out of this one. I loved it!
It’s my pleasure to share my review and join in the Tour of Stephen Puleston’s story A Cold Dark Heart. Inspector Drake is meticulous, determined, and thorough in his job and finding the clues to solve a case.
Drake’s most dangerous killer and shocking case yet…
Accident or murder…?
When eighty-nine-year-old Emyr Isaac is found dead in his home, Drake and his team initially suspect a burglary gone wrong. Isaac was old, and his death was a tragedy, but it’s not a murder case…is it?
A grisly discovery…
Drake uncovers more suspicious deaths, all elderly victims, all seemingly innocent, but with one chilling connection.
A twisted killer…
If Drake’s suspicions are correct, they have a dangerous serial killer on the loose. Soon, the team realize that stopping this killer will require playing a dangerous game – how do you catch a murderer trusted by everyone?
I write crime fiction based in Wales and about Wales. The rural landscape of north Wales provides the backdrop to the Inspector Drake novels. And Cardiff the capital of Wales provides the setting for the Inspector Marco novels set in a modern urban environment.
I love the novels of Raymond Chandler, Ian Rankin, Mark Billingham, Henning Mankell, Val McDermid – the list could go on! And I enjoy watching detective series on the television the recent Hinterland series based near Aberystwyth in Wales was great. One of my favourites is the French series Spiral but The Bridge and Broadchurch and the Rebus series with Ken Stott and Kenneth Branagh in Wallander are great too.
I have been on writing courses at the Welsh Writers Centre in Llanystymdwy, North Wales tutored by Matt Whyman and Marcus Sedgwick as well as crime writing courses with Peter Robinson and Andrew Taylor at the Scottish Writers centre.
I was born in Anglesey an island off the north Wales coast and after leaving school in Holyhead I went to University in London before training as a solicitor/lawyer. I practised in a small family business doing criminal work in the magistrates and crown courts, divorce and family work.
I still live on Anglesey, North Wales near the beach and the mountains of Snowdonia.
The elderly are being targeted by a killer and no one knows why or who is doing it. There are cases that haven’t been identified yet as being similar, but Inspector Drake and his team will work diligently to find the killer and stop him.
Detective Inspector Drake has to adjust to a new boss, and he isn’t quite sure yet if he will like working with him or not. He’s a man who likes things to be uniformed and regular. Change is not his friend. With this new case, he’ll have to step back as the SIO because Superintendent Hobbs, his new boss, has decided to take the position. Inspector Drake and his team will work tirelessly to find the killer and the reason behind the killing. While investigating they will discover that there are more than they initially thought.
Inspector Drake is a man that digs deep and does not overlook details. His team is the just as hard working and focused as he is, and they work very well together. In this book when one of his own team members finds herself in a situation that could end very badly, he blames himself and will not rest until he finds her and makes sure that she is alright. I love these stories and the detail that is put into them really makes the story flow, and draw me in. Mr. Puleston has a way with Inspector Drake that endears him to me. I know not everyone likes to read about someone with OCD, but the details that Inspector Drake has to have in his life is what I like about him. If you like police procedural, mystery, suspense, or police detectives that never give up, then you will love A Cold Dark Heart. I give this story a 4.5-star review.
A man who cheated death.
A woman hired to pick up the broken pieces.
And an obsession strong enough to kill for.
They told him he’d been given a second chance at life. Told him to count his lucky stars, to stop and smell the roses. Kind of hard to do when your body is bound by chains and cuffs. That’s what it felt like, anyway, when Phoenix Steele woke up from his coma to a life full of restrictions. Once known around town as the fearless, indomitable heir to the Steele fortune, the former Marine was suddenly labeled unstable, short-tempered, and loose cannon. Unwilling to accept his issues, Phoenix instantly clashes with his assertive therapist—the town’s most eligible bachelorette.
No one knew overcoming the odds like Dr. Rose Floris. Determined not to be a statistic, Rose lived her life under carefully constructed routines—until a gruesome murder and a series of mysterious events reveal she’s become the center of a madman’s obsession. Suddenly, Rose’s world is turned upside down and she finds herself under the watchful eye of her new client, a broken man she’s been warned not to trust.
As the tables begin to turn on their client-patient relationship, Phoenix realizes he must battle his own demons before he can save anyone, including the woman who’s become his own obsession…
Two of my favorite mafia authors joined up to write an awesome story!
Katerina and her best friend Nina are out in a club, but neither one should be there because they aren’t old enough. Their fake ID got them, but one they’re in Katerina finds herself in a situation that could be very bad. That is until her knight in shining armor shows up to save her. Only, he’s not a good guy either.
Levka is not a nice man, nor is he a good man, but he can’t help himself when he sees Katerina being man handled by some men in the hallway. He rescues her but is he really just putting her in more danger? He really should stay away from her, but something about her draws him in. He can’t seem to get her out of his mind and it really is not a good situation due to his family and the business he’s in.
I love Natasha Knight and A. Zavarelli books, and this book with both of them did not disappoint. That is until I got to the end and the cliff-hanger. They are very evil in the way that they leave you hanging with this story. I can’t wait for the next book! These characters are great! Lev is dark, dangerous, and very sexy. Kat is naïve, alone, and very scared of Lev and what he may do to her when he catches up to her. I give this story a 5-star review and whole heartedly recommend it to readers who enjoy Mafia romance or dark dangerous families that have a long reach. Levka’s family is very dangerous and very unpredictable. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romance, Natasha Knight specializes in dark, tortured heroes. Happily-Ever-Afters are almost always guaranteed, but she likes to put her characters through hell to get them there. She’s evil like that.
A. Zavarelli is a USA Today and Amazon bestselling author.
She likes all things chocolate, books that come with warnings, and putting her characters through hell. Her tales have been known to flirt with darkness and sometimes court it unabashedly altogether. Revenge themes and tortured souls are her favorites to write and this gives her an excuse to watch bizarre and twisted documentaries in her spare time.
She currently lives in the Northwest with her lumberjack and an entire brood of fur babies.
A beautiful young girl locked away in a New York City Penthouse. She knows nothing of the outside world other than what she is able to read in books, but they are fiction.
Zell lives a sheltered life. She believes it’s because her mother wants to keep her safe, even though her mother doesn’t treat as a mother should. She believes that it’s because the world is not a bright place but can be dark and dangerous. Little does she know that it’s because the people around her are the dark and dangerous ones in the world.
Frankie Russo was born into the world of darkness and can’t wait to get out and away from it and his father. He has a plan, but that isn’t going to go the way he is planning it to. One night and the meeting of a young beautiful girl will change his life and his plan. Frankie knows the difference between right and wrong and his moral code won’t allow him to follow in his father’s shoes.
This was a story of twists, surprises, and suspense. The characters are interesting, naïve, and kept in the dark for most of the book. When they connect and find out the darkness and deception of Frank Russo Senior, their combined efforts will reveal their strength and power and allow them to take action to make a better life for themselves. I enjoy Kimberly Knight’s writing and her books always seem to pull me in keep a hold on me until the very end. Lock is no exception. I do look forward to more in this series and I am looking forward to Deliverance, and Ricardo and Erin’s story. I give this story a 4.5-star review.
Blurb: Before Zell was born, her fate was sealed. Held captive in a high-rise overlooking New York City since the age of twelve, she had no friends her own age, no life outside of the penthouse, and absolutely no choices of her own. But what she didn’t realize was the tower where she lost her freedom would one day become her salvation. Her prince would arrive, they would fall in love, and they would come up with a plan for her to escape so they could live happily ever after. If only it were that easy. Every girl dreams of her life becoming a fairy tale, even Zell, who’s knowledge of romance was simply from the books she stole from other girls at the brothel. In a world where sex, drugs, and manipulation is solely the life she knows, the only fairy tale poor Zell would endure would be a sinister one … Because freedom always comes at a price.
Excerpt: “Now, son”—Frank squeezed Frank Jr’s shoulder—”tonight, you can have any one of these ladies that you want. More than one if you’d like.” My heart, which had finally returned to its regular beat, felt as though it was cracking in my chest as I listened to what Frank said. Of course, that was why they were here. “I told you I wasn’t a virgin,” Frank Jr. said in a low voice. Frank chuckled. “That may be, but any one of these ladies will make sure you’re well taken care of. You might learn some things. It’s your birthday, enjoy it.” Frank Jr. replied, his voice still low, “Whores aren’t my thing.” “These are the finest ones around, son. You’ll be in safe hands. Take your pick, and then I can pick mine.” “And if I don’t?” Frank Jr. asked. “Then you’ll piss me off,” Frank stated, giving Frank Jr. a stern look. “I can assure you,” Madam cut in, “all of my girls are clean and well trained. They aren’t like high school girls.” She chuckled. Frank Jr. looked at his father another moment and then stepped toward the line of girls. He still hadn’t taken a sip of the vodka in his hand, and that made me nervous. I wasn’t sure what Madam would do to me if Frank Jr. asked for something else. Was Grey Goose not a good brand? Just like Madam had done not ten minutes prior, Frank Jr. walked by each girl, looking them up and down from their heads to their feet and back up. When he got to the end, I expected him to walk back down the line because he hadn’t made a decision yet. Instead, he stopped in front of me, looking back at Frank and Madam. “I choose her,” he said. My eyes widened as Madam said in a raised voice, “Zell isn’t one of the girls.” “She’s not?” Frank Jr. questioned and turned his head to look at me. I lowered my gaze while I waited for Madam to respond. I expected her to say something about me being her daughter, and therefore, off-limits. Instead, she said, “She’s never been with a man before. She wouldn’t know what to do. Pick one of the others. They will show you a good time.” My face got hot again, and I was certain I looked like a tomato. I couldn’t believe that Madam had told Frank Jr. I was a virgin. I’d read about a virgin once. She met a guy with a helicopter and had weird sex with him. She seemed to like it, but that didn’t mean I was ready for this handsome boy to know I was a virgin. “Is that true?” Frank Jr. asked as he looked into my eyes. “Are you a virgin?” I nodded, not able to speak. He turned back to Madam and his father. “Then, yes, I want her.” “She’s not even groomed,” Madam stated to Frank. “Son, why don’t you pick someone else?” “With all due respect, Father, you brought me here to, what was it? Become a man? Being a man is choosing who I want to sleep with, and I choose …” He paused for a moment. “Zell.” The tray I was still holding fell from my grasp and clattered onto the floor. Madam’s gaze snapped to me, and my eyes widened before I quickly bent to pick it up. My heart was beating so fast in my chest that I was certain Frank Jr. could hear it. I kept my gaze on the floor, not able to look at anyone. I couldn’t believe this was happening.
