Maddox is forced to join the Marines to stay away from Avery, and he does it reluctantly when he believes that Avery will hate him for his past troubles. He became a great Marine despite to wanting to enlist. He leaves the Marines due to a leg injury and this brings him back into Avery’s life seven years later. The biggest hurdle is Avery’s conniving, over bearing parents. Maddox is the perfect person to help Avery find her own life and HEA away from her parents. Maddox has to overcome his thoughts and feelings that he is out of Avery’s league and that he is the right man for her.

This was a great read! A second chance romance with a great love story. Avery and Maddox have a lot of hurdles to overcome before they finally get their HEA. If you’re looking for a bad boy story and second chance romances this is the read for you.
