I love the Devil’s Murder MC series and each book seems to get better and more interesting as they go along. Talon’s and Abigail’s story is no different. I love the characters in this series and the stories themselves are wonderful. They are tragic, dark, and sometimes twisted, but that’s what makes them so wonderful for me. I love reading anything my Nikki Landis and watch for her books all the time. She’s a great author and story teller. I have a hard time putting her books down once I’ve started them and I hate to see them end. Don’t miss this 4th book in the Devil’s Murder MC, I have a feeling the next one will be just as good.

Finn and McKenna are a great couple! I love their story.

Finn is the second oldest of the Doughty family. He always felt as if he didn’t have anything to bring to the family business, but his teen years show him his contribution to the family. However, it could destroy him and the life he wants with his best friend, McKenna Lowry.

McKenna is bounced around from foster home to foster home. Never feeling quite like she belongs anywhere or is cared about. Her friendship with Finn Doughty means everything to her, so when he pushes her away after she confesses her feelings to him, she’s devastated. It will take years before these two can figure out their feelings and come to terms with how they both feel.

I loved this story of Finn and McKenna. Their story is a love that can’t be distinguished by Finn’s family responsibilities or the distance between these two. McKenna knows that it’s their time and she will not be deterred from showing Finn that they belong together. This is a dark and twisted story, but so worth the read. I love the characters in this series and the fact that we get to have them in each book in the series is great. I can’t wait for Ethan’s story. It looks to be another great addition to the Beautifully Brutal Series.

Closing my eyes, I stand still and concentrate. My breathing, my heartrate. I totally tune in to my body and my surroundings. The sounds of the night. The feel of my pulse, the rush of adrenaline. My mask. The mindset of the wolf. The masterful hunter, sleek and cunning. Bloodthirsty and dedicated to its prey.

I stalk forward, my every step a calculated advance toward Rabbit. My movements are silent as I listen for her, her soft footfalls, her scared little rabbit energy.

Rabbitโ€™s smart. Sheโ€™s going to circle around and try and watch me, come after me. Thatโ€™s one of the things Iโ€™d do, and sheโ€™s got the same killer instinct in her.

Unfortunately for her, sheโ€™s untrained in those particular arts. Sheโ€™s pure instinct, so I also need to counter for the expected unexpected. She might run, but it wonโ€™t be that far if she does.

Iโ€™m both danger and safety. The car is safety, but Iโ€™ve got her keys, wallet, gun, phone, and coat.

Yeah, Iโ€™m stacking the deck in my favor.

In the opposite direction, the street she ran down heads into a cluster of well-lit condos. The houses provide more cover, so I choose a strategic spot and crouch, my muscles coiled like a predator ready to strike. I wait, my heart pounding in anticipation as I plot my next move.

A sound catches my attention, and I go completely still.

There. Across the street.

A flash of white. A rabbit mask.

Sheโ€™s fucking good. She sticks mainly to the shadows and her shoes are off, rendering her silent. Rabbit moves like a hunter in prey clothing, and it fucking excites me. Iโ€™m hard as I try to focus on her in the dark.

A cat yowls and dashes out and across the street.

She doesnโ€™t make a sound.

But sheโ€™s there, edging forward.

I can just make her out now. Sheโ€™s heading to where she can see the car.

I donโ€™t follow yet.

Rabbit slips through a gate and into someoneโ€™s property. There arenโ€™t any lights on, just the one from the porch, but sheโ€™s not heading up there. Sheโ€™s making her way across the grounds, keeping close to the fence.

Clever little rabbit.

I follow, moving fast and silently. I skirt up and around and come down behind her as she reaches a gate. She stops and frantically looks around. Canโ€™t see the wolf, can you, baby? She senses me, though, and shoots off running to the right.

I walk to where she just stood and inhale. I can smell her perfume. Her fear. Itโ€™s sweet, but her excitement is even sweeter.

I let out an almost maniacal laugh, my heart pounding, and I give chase.

The sound of my feet hitting the ground echoes through the night, spurring Rabbit on even more. She runs with a grace and speed that is truly magnificent. But thereโ€™s no way she can outrun me.

I can hear her breathing, feel her fear, her excitement. It fuels me, thrills me.

Iโ€™m getting closer now, closing in on her with every passing second. I could end this game right now if I wanted to, but I donโ€™t. I want to keep playing, to keep her guessing. I want her to feel that rush of exhilaration, that sensation of being alive.

โ€œCome on, Rabbit,โ€ I call after her. โ€œGive me everything youโ€™ve got.โ€

She stumbles and falls forward onto the grass, and I take that as my cue to pounce. She tries to get up, but I grab her waist and pull. Without a word, I slap my hand over her mouth and pull her against me. She struggles, but her heart thumps hard and her ass comes in against my cock. Itโ€™s electric. Pure fucking sex.

โ€œGot you, Rabbit. Punishment time. On your fucking knees.โ€ I donโ€™t give her a chance to do anything but obey as I tangle my hand in her hair and push her to her knees.

She could use her word.

Of course, she fucking doesnโ€™t.

Maybe I should push her a little more.

I pull the gun from my back, and her eyes behind the hot as fuck bunny mask go wide. Flicking off the safety, I place the muzzle against her temple. Fear burns in those beautiful crystal irises of hers.

โ€œGot something you wanna say, Rabbit?โ€

Her lips part, and for a second Iโ€™m sure sheโ€™s going to say it. Savage.

But instead, she licks her lips and shuts them.

Good God, sheโ€™s magnificent. One of my favorite things about Poppy? Her sheer, fucked-up defiance.

WOW!! This was s dark, twisted, depraved story that was so hard to put down.

When your past is so hard to let go of that you train yourself to become the hunter and find a way to get your vengeance, only to find that you are still the hunted.

Davian and Poppy are perfect for each other. Their history is dark and twisted, but their present is so much more dark, twisted and depraved. When Poppy decides that she’s ready to fulfill her vengeance, she puts so much into play that neither she nor Davian will be ready for what is to come for either of them.

I loved this dark, twisted story and Davian and Poppy. I loved how each of them were able to be themselves with each other and how Davian was tamed a bit by Poppy. How Davian also pulled out the dark depravity of Poppy to suit his desires. This was a great story and I’ve loved the Dark Sovereign characters throughout the series. Davian’s story does not disappoint.

I loved Indy and Griffin’s story.

Snowed in and unable to get away from the mountain, Indy has to find a way to keep busy until she can get back down the mountain road that has been blocked off from the snow storm. She’s not a skier or boarder, but she was interviewing for a job. Her life has changed so much within the past few months and she is desperate to get her life back on track. An unexpected encounter with a guy that is on the mountain for the snow could be what she needs to find her way back and get her life back on track.

Griffin lives for the extreme. He’s a professional surfer during the summer months and a snow boarder in the winter. He looks for snowfalls that he knows will be great to board on and travels to the mountains early so that he can get on the new snow as soon as possible. HIs life is his own, although he is very close with his parents and visits them during the winter months between chasing the snow storms. His life is great, but when he meets Indy and gets to know her while she’s stranded on the mountain, he finds that maybe he’s been missing something.

I really enjoyed this story and I loved the characters. Their path to an HEA wasn’t easy, but they were determined and found a way. They also learned that compromise and sacrifice could be worth it. Enjoyable read and I look forward to more in the Road Trip Romance series by A. K. Evans.
