I’m a huge fan of Marie James’ books and when she introduced Lindell, Texas I was excited for the series. She writes wonderful characters, gritty, but entertaining stories that pull you in from the beginning and holds on until the end of the book. You hate for it to end because you want so much more of the characters. Even when their story is done.

Back Against the Wall was no different. While it’s not a post military, black ops, or MC story, it has the wonderful characters that I love Marie James for as well as the fun small town of Lindell, Texas that knows everyone’s business and the meddling that goes along with that. The business names are funny, the towns folk are quirky, and nosey.

Chase and Madison have both returned home after moving away and starting their lives in larger towns. Now that their back home in their small home town of Lindell, they are under the scrutiny of the towns folk as well as their own parents. Chase came home to lick his wounds from a career that has ended as well as his marriage. With two young sons to raise and the hardware store his family has run for years, he has to find a way to make a new life, yet protect his sons from their mischief and curiosity. His father suggests hiring someone to help him with the boys and his suggestion is the girl that hates Chase, but he has no idea why.

Madison has lost everything she worked so hard for due to her choice in men. Now she’s home trying to restart her life and get back on her feet. However, her living conditions could be quieter but she’s unemployed, so she can’t get an apartment. Her choices are limited until she meets with Chase, the boy she hates that used to live next door growing up. She’s held a grudge for ten years, but that doesn’t mean she has to let him off the hook now.

I loved this story and the characters. It was funny, sad, and an enjoyable read. I can’t wait to read more of the Lindell Series to come.

How did you start writing?
I started writing for fun because I was a singer and songwriter in a band and had never thought about writing novels. I had to create my character’s background in a role-playing game. As a joke, I told the dungeon master that I’d write a book if I wrote down everything I had in my head. At the end of the four pages he held in his hand, he looked at me and said, “If you write the book, I will gladly read it.” From that day, it was 2010, I haven’t stopped writing.


What inspired you to write?
While scrolling through pictures on Facebook, I saw a photo of a couple on the beach, with a red sunset on which dark silhouettes stood out. This was my dazzling inspiration. Then, I had the idea of combining my passion for motorcycles and clubs, the world I had been around for a few years. It was supposed to be a quick and easy story, an interlude before returning to fantasy writing, but it wasn’t. Before I realized and accepted it, the project exploded in my head and became a series. In the end, the characters in my head ruled.


Tell me a bit about yourself, your writing style, and your first published book:
My style is lean and direct, and I love to focus on emotion and rhythm, probably because I come from the music industry. I like to paint the scene like an expressionist but minimalist artist. “The Pleasure Sea” is the first English edition I publish of one of my books, a little dream come true. That’s the inaugural, riveting book in the “Outlawed Malibu” – an MC romance series of interconnected standalone.

The focus of my stories is always the characters, their lives, their weaknesses, and their struggles for what they desire and love.

On the other side is her, appearing as a princess with a perfect, enviable life but hiding much more. Weaknesses that become strength, despair that drives to action and revenge in search of justice and a future. Passion and forbidden love.

How can readers interact with you, follow you?
I am most active on Facebook, where I have my reader groups, but I am also present on Instagram. I also have a TikTok profile with Italian videos for now. Plus, I edit my newsletter personally, so it’s a great way to connect, and you get a steamy freebie right away.

Another great story in the Fury Vipers MC series.

Esme and Reaper had a rocky introduction, but in the end they’re able to overcome the idiocy that was Reaper at their first meeting.

Reaper hasn’t met a woman yet that can make him want to come home to one woman for the rest of his life, but the little woman that walked up to him a bar one night seems to have made an impression, for a little bit. He’d do anything for his brothers.

Esme was just trying to be nice to the biker whose friends ended up leaving with her friends. She’s not available for anything else, but she can still be nice. Besides he looked like he could use a friend. After their initial meeting though she realizes that she made a mistake and the look in his eyes would just have to stay there. After years of abuse she finally finds a way to get free and live her life the way she wants. The only trouble is that she never really knew the man she was engaged to for so long and her life is still in danger.

I love Brooke Summers’ characters. She writes strong Alpha men and wonderfully strong, sassy women that are able to hold their own for the most part, but they’re also smart enough and strong enough to know when to let the men that claim them help them and protect them. I love the stories by Brooke Summers and I can’t wait for more to come.

A raw, gritty, action-packed start to a new chapter in the Ruthless Kings MC.

This story had multiple POV’s which really brought the whole story together and made me feel as if I was in the thick of the story myself. I love the characters and strength the MFC showed. We get the history behind the trouble in town and the start of this chapter, even though it was years prior.

There is a lot tragedy in this story, and the MMC and MFC unknowingly bring more tragedy on the club, but the strength of the Ruthless Kings MC will prevail. I just hope that they don’t have much more to come.

I loved this story just as much as I’ve loved the rest of the Ruthless Kings MC books by K. L. Savage. This one might be the darkest yet, even with Tongue’s books. I can’t wait to read more of the Houston Chapter books to come.
