Author Bio
K.L. Savage decided they were tired of looking for the kind of books they wanted to read. They had an itch that needed to be scratched, and as every girl knows, nothing scratches better than an alpha.
They write about gritty, alpha males, sometimes their dark sides, and the women they love. If you have the same itch, their alpha males should fix that.

Tool Teaser 4

My Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

His past has come back to haunt him with a vengeance.

Logan “Tool” is the VP of the Ruthless Kings MC. He’s a man who believes that “hate is born from love”. He is the best friend of Reaper, the President of the Ruthless Kings MC. He had a terrible, tragic childhood until the day he stood up for his mom and changed their lives forever. He has no idea who the men are that his mom called for a favor, but thanks to them, they will have a better life, until Tool’s past comes back to haunt him.

Juliette’s daddy’s little girl. He’s overprotective and a great father, she believes. She hasn’t seen the side of him that the Ruthless Kings MC has, and she has no idea the man her father, the Sheriff really is. She’s going to find out though, and it is not going to be pretty nor will it end well. She’s a good girl, naïve, and she’s been told a lot of stories about the Ruthless Kings and how they were no good, and she was to stay away from them. The only trouble is that she is having a hard time following her father’s rules now that she is out on her own and has had a run in with Tool, actually a couple of run ins now. Will he be the reason for her death, or her savior?

This story has a lot of dark, twisted, tragic, and disturbed parts, but it is such a great read. I love the Ruthless Kings MC and the characters in this series always have so much to share. The men of the MC are brothers by choice, and they fight, ride, and live like brothers. They are fierce in their loyalty to the MC as well as to the women that find their way into their hearts and their lives. They live, love, and play hard. I love the camaraderie as well as the bickering between the characters. The relationship between Tool and Poodle is great to read. This story started with action and it didn’t stop until the end. It has the men of the MC, corrupt police, the bad side of town, and women who find their strength through the men that they fall in love with. They find that they’re stronger with these men and they’re stronger because of them. I loved the twists and dark and dangerous parts of this book, and I loved that Boomer was back. I give this story a 5-star review and suggest it to readers of MC, strong women, and action-packed dangerous stories. I look forward to more of the Ruthless Kings MC in the future. The book cover was perfect for the description of Tool and Yeti.

Review of Taken: Men of Mayhem, Book 3 by Kristen Luciani @kristen_luciani

Taken Cover

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

He’s a loose cannon after things went bad and he lost the love of his life. Well, he walked away from the love of his life without defending himself or fighting for her. He felt defeated and was blaming himself for the way things turned out at her 18th birthday party. Tommaso now lives his life on the edge and does not let his head get clouded when he needs to do a job. He doesn’t ever want to miss anything again that could cause someone’s life to be in the balance.

From the first time she laid eyes on him she knew that he was it for her, but there was an age difference and he worked for her father. He’s also her brother’s best friend, or she believes he is. Gemma is naïve, young, and daddy’s little girl. The night of her 18th birthday everything goes terribly wrong and even after she lost her dream of playing soccer, she won’t recover from this situation. Her life will go downhill, and she’ll have to make the same decision that Tommaso did two years earlier. Will she be able to save everyone, or will it be a huge mistake on her part?

I love the Men of Mayhem series as much as I loved the Severinov Bratva Series. The characters are lethal, loyal and so much fun to read. This family is entertaining to read, and they always seem to find themselves in deep trouble, but they are good at getting out of it, with a little help from their extended family. I love Kristen Luciani’s books. She has a way with her characters that has you laughing, tearing up, and wanting to slap them throughout the books. In the end, they always win me over though. I give this book a 5-star review and I am so looking forward to Vincenzo Marcone’s story. He’s going to fall so far down the rabbit hole, just like Alex did. I cannot wait. It seems the higher they are in the family the farther they have to fall when the woman that steels their hearts come along.

Review of Dark Russian Angel: A Vancouver Mafia Romance by Odette Stone @HiddenGemsBooks @OdetteStone1

Andrusha Cover

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

She’s in the wrong place at the wrong time and now her life is in peril. She’s in protective custody, but even that doesn’t seem to be keeping her safe. Olivia can’t seem to catch a break in her life. She’s a trained ballerina, but one accident while dancing put her life in a spiral. Now she dances in a different venue just keep her head above water. One night puts her in more jeopardy than she bargained for and now she has to fight to survive not only to make ends meet, but to stay alive.

His second in command is unfortunate enough to see a hand floating in the water outside of their warehouse, now the police are doing a thorough search of the water and he and Viktor are tasked looking at what is found in the water. Andrusha prefers to keep to himself and fly under the radar, but this whole situation has caused him more trouble than he wanted. Andrusha will now have to make some hard decisions and hope for the best.

I absolutely loved this story. It has the dark, dangerous, twisted, and sexy that I enjoy reading. Andrusha is a powerful man that finds that he has a heart and that he will do anything to protect his family, whether they have been in his life for long time or a short time. He is smart, sexy, and a dangerous man to cross. This was my first read of Odette Stone, but I will have to put more of her books on my Kindle App. She is a great storyteller and her characters are awesome. I would love to read Viktor’s story. He appears to be a broody man, one of my favorites. I give this story a 5-star review and look forward to reading more of Ms. Stone’s Vancouver Mafia Romance books.

ARC Review: Run and Hide (Tactical Solutions International Series) by Maggie Clare @MsMaggie_Clare

Run and Hide

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

He’s closed off, gruff, and demanding. Mike Flynn is a man who has had love and lost it. Now he is focused on his job. He will do anything to protect those he loves and cares about. When he receives a phone call from a teammate from the Army asking for his help, he won’t turn him down. Now he’s headed to Los Angeles to help Alex Costa’s sister to return a favor.

Lucia Costa is not trained like her brothers to deal with danger and deadly situations, but she will put herself in jeopardy to protect and help her older brother Cole when he is in trouble. The only problem is that she has to go on the run to save her life. She’s talented in finding information with a computer, but her skills to take down a cartel are lacking.

I loved this story. The action, danger, and loyalty of the Flynn’s, Costa’s, and the members of Tactical Solutions International willingness to help, keep the pages turning in this book. The characters are entertaining, loyal, tough, and their willingness to do anything to save or protect family or anyone they care about, makes for a great book and series. Mike is an FBI Special Agent and is looking for justice for his friend and the woman that won’t leave his mind. I give this story a 5-star review and recommend it to readers that enjoy suspense, Alpha males, women who don’t take anything from anyone, or characters that loyal, dangerous, and ready to take down the bad guys.

ARC Review of Ash: Colors of Crime Book 8, by Sophie Lark

Ash

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Dominik Petrov is the younger brother of Ivan Petrov the head of the Petrov Family Bratva. He and his brother are close, they even live together with cousins and Bratva members in an old monastery. Dominik has his job and he is particular about how it is done. When he runs into trouble one night while transporting their product, he has to find a way to get it back and keep the police from causing them more trouble. He needs to send a message that the Petrov’s will not take interruptions of their products by the police.

Lara Erdeli lives a life in hiding. She is hiding from a devastating past and trying to get retribution for that past. She loves art and is tired of being cooped up in a small flat by herself so much. When she finally gets the freedom she craves, her life will take a swift turn. The man protecting her and keeping her safe is the new Chief of Police in St. Petersburg. He is incorruptible and determined to clean the streets of the Bratva. He can’t be bought, but there may be a way to keep him off the Petrov Bratva’s backs.

I really loved this story. Dom is a great character. He is a tough man, a Bratva brother, but he also has a side that you would not expect to find. He falls hard for Lara and is determined to keep her and protect her. I enjoy the characters of this story as well as the other books in the series. They are entertaining to read. They’re loyal, deadly, and they are not afraid to do what is needed to ensure the safety of their family and loved one. I give this story a 5-star review and suggest that you read the entire series. I also read the Series Finale Epilogue, available at the end of the book, and loved it as well. I do wish that it had been longer though. If you are a reader of Mafia, Bratva, Alpha males, and strong women, you will love this series.

Release and Review of Nightingale (Reed Security Series) by Giulia Lagomarsino @crzybookladylu @EJBookPromos

Title: Nightingale
Series: Reed Security Series #24
Author: Giulia Lagomarsino
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: June 15, 2020

“What a ride Nightingale was! Giulia Lagomarsino really upped their emotions with Florrie and Alec’s story.” ~The Art of Reading

“WOW! What a roller-coaster ride this book was! Incredible! So many ups and downs and emotion. An entertaining addition to the series!” ~Goodreads Review (Jennifer)

Florrie

I don’t do well with emotions and yucky love stuff. I do the best I can, but at the end of the day, I’m better at showing someone I love them by fighting for them. That’s the way I’ve always been and how I’ll always be. And I have one helluva fight ahead of me. I’ll do anything for the people I love, but what I didn’t expect was to be fighting the one person I thought would always be on my side. I don’t know if I can ever forgive him for this or if we can ever move forward. Some betrayals are just unforgivable.

Alec
Life is going great. I have the woman I love by my side and a kid that is quickly becoming a huge part of my life. What can go wrong? Then it happens. One phone call changes my world in such a profound way that I’m not sure anything will ever be the same again. I risk losing it all with my decisions, but I have to stand up for what I believe is right. I just hope that when the dust settles, I still have someone on my side.

I’m a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, “No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book.” I didn’t think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn’t already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven’t been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Holy Cow!! I won’t say that both of them made me angry, but boy Nightingale sure did.

Florrie is a team member of Reed Security. She is tough, strong, and independent. She’s also selfish, bullheaded, and single minded, in my opinion. She and her teammate Alec hid their relationship for three years before they made it official and let the rest of Reed Security know that they were a couple. Of course, Craig, their other team member figured it out sooner than the rest, by pure coincidence.

Alec is the lead for Team 5 of Reed Security. He makes a lot of decisions for the team when they are in the field. The only problem is that he has a hard time shutting that off when they are home and he doesn’t discuss things with Florrie and Craig, which causes a lot of problems. He wants to protect Florrie and she is so independent that she has a hard time letting him take care of her.

Reid is a young boy that left a bad situation at his stepfather’s house. He ended up on the streets and ran into Florrie and Alec one night and instead of turning him over to the authorities, they took him in and cared for him. He’s a young teen and has found a home where he feels safe and loved. When his temporary custody comes into jeopardy it causes all kinds of issues with Reed Security.

These two are both strong willed and pig headed, but Florrie really made me angry through this book. She couldn’t see anything besides her own thoughts and feelings. She was determined to do what was needed, but she didn’t stop to think of the repercussions. I enjoyed the story, the tensions, the characters, the comedic relief, and the overall story of this book. While I was angry a lot with Florrie, I could understand her devastation, but not her actions and treatment of Alec. I love the character in this series, and I devour these books, but this one had me wanting to throat punch Florrie most of the time. Her actions and words were hurtful and destructive. I felt that Alec deserved better than what she was giving him. I give this story a 5-star review and look forward to more of the Reed Security Series. I would love to see stories of the kids as they grow up, especially and Reid and Caitlyn. If you like stories with Alpha males, strong women, security details, and crazy families, you will love this series, and you should one-click it right away.

Book #8 in the Heaven Hill Shorts Series is now available! Read My Review!!

Drew

Drew Walker

My life changed the day my daughter was shoved into the back of a van on the orders of a man I considered my brother.

It’s never going to be the same again.
I’m never going to be the same again.

But I’m being given another chance to do everything right this time.

And I’ll be damned if I screw it up.

My Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

He needs to forgive himself and learn to move on, but, how can he?

Drew can’t seem to get over that his daughter was kidnapped and the destruction of his MC and the fear of losing everything he holds dear. He needs to come to terms with what happened, and that Justice is home, alive, and fighting to move on with her life.

I have enjoyed these shorts and this story did not disappoint. Drew is a man who loves his family deeply and is destroyed that an MC brother betrayed not only him but the entire MC and hurt his little girl. Now he’s afraid he’s going to lose everything. Hearing Drew’s point of view on the abduction of Justice and the aftermath is heartbreaking. He’s a good father, husband, and loyal brother to the MC. I give this short a 5-star review and suggest that you read Heaven Hill Next Generation before you pick up the shorts, but you won’t be disappointed. Ms. Briscoe does a great job with some hard situations and you can’t help but love the characters of Heaven Hills or any of her other books.

Review of Under Your Skin by Rose McClelland @RoseMcClelland1 @rosieamber1

Front cover paperback

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5

Psychological thriller that will have you wondering what’s going on, and who you can trust.

Kyle is angry that the police won’t do anything to find his missing wife. She didn’t come home from work and he has no idea where she could be. The police won’t help because she hasn’t been missing long enough to begin a search. Kyle will organize a search and things get more questionable at the end of the day.

Hannah is surprised that Kyle is interested in her. She just started this job and she’s quiet and shy. Kyle and Hannah have a good relationship until after they get married. Hannah isn’t sure what caused the change, but she’s wary of everything now and walks on eggshells.

I enjoyed this book, but I found that there were some gaps as to what was happening and how things progressed. The story is told mostly in the female character perspective. Only the first chapter is in Kyle’s perspective. Which I found interesting and different. I loved the plot and the way that the story was done in the sense that it kept me wondering what was going on, where Hannah was, how she got to where she was, was she being mistreated, was she in danger, and how things would turn out. I love a mystery in a story like this, and the way that the story kept my mind working while reading the story. I enjoy the guessing of a story to figure out the who, what, when, or why, but I want the challenge of multiple characters to have to think about, not being able to figure it out right away and this story definitely challenged my brain. I give this book a 4.5-star review and if you like psychological thrillers, the mystery of figuring out the bad guy, and strong women characters, this book is a perfect choice.

ARC Review of Rios (Perdition MC Shifters Book 2) by BE Kelly

Rios Cover

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Intense, unpredictable, and protective.

Santiago Rios “Rios” is the Alpha of the Perdition MC, a wolf pack shifters MC. He has a lot on his shoulders since he was not groomed to become the Alpha of the pack, that was to be his brother, Trace. Rios took over the Alpha position because his brother wanted a different path in life and has done a good job of protecting his pack and being the Alpha. When he decided to bring a peace offering to Trace in the form of a young woman who is a seer and a shifter, his plans changed as soon as he first set eyes on Aylen Nez, and after he scented her. This caused more problems with his older brother and there doesn’t seem to be any relief from their tension in the near future.

Aylen Nez is the youngest of the Nez family. She realized she had a different path in life as a teen and was scared to death that her family would reject her when they found out her secret. Now that Rios has taken an interest in her, her secret is about to come to light, and she will have to deal with the fall out of it with her family. Little does she know that her secret and Rios’ interest in her has put her in the crosshairs of the Hunters, and in danger. She will need to learn to trust in herself as well as her new life if she is to survive.

I have been enjoying the Seer series as well as the Perdition MC series. I have found the characters to be entertaining, intense, unpredictable, and very protective of those they care about. These shifters are wolves, so they are very protective, and they work very well as a pack to keep their pack safe. The Hunters are getting too close to the pack though and the Perdition MC will need to proceed very carefully and be alert to everything and everyone that they interact with. The need to protect is strong and these sexy men will put their lives on the line to keep their mate or their family safe. I give this story a 5-star review and cannot wait for Trace’s story to come out. I have been looking forward to his story, he’s a brooding, moody, man that needs to find a mate that will bring out the wolf he is keeping locked up.

Release and Review: Heart Thief (Sinister Fairy Tales Collection) by Ker Dukey @kerdukeyauthor @EJBookPromos

Title: Heart Thief
Series: Sinister Fairy Tales Collection
Author: Ker Dukey
Genre: Dark Fairy Tale Retelling
Release Date: June 8, 2020

Monsters come in many forms.
Some want shiny new toys to play with—others want blood.
Mona Walters dreams of adventure, of a world beyond the shoreline she’s confined to. She yearns for vibrancy in her dull, mundane existence, but succumbs to the bleakness.
Until the necklace her sister wore the night she was brutally murdered shows up on her door wrapped in a neat bow, fueling her to run away and seek out the person responsible for stealing her sister’s life.
Mona wished for more—for color in her gray world.
What she didn’t realize was just how much more she would get.
And that the world outside her own was soaked in red—blood red.
The world she dreamed of is made of nightmares.
A rich, influential world of two brothers—and once they have her in their sights, they plan to keep her there.
Her father kept her secluded for a reason.
Be careful what you wish for.
There’s a thief out there, and he’s coming for Mona’s heart.

Cold burrows into my marrow. My self-preservation to seek out warmth has my feet inching toward a roaring fire in a grand room lavished with furniture and rugs. This place is huge, like nothing I’ve ever seen before. We live a minimal life with only the true essentials. Everything else is considered an indulgence, and that’s sinful. Apparently.

A graze scorching with pain to my knee makes me wince, the torn material of my dress rubbing against the broken skin. “Hello?” I call out, inching closer and closer to the roaring orange glow of the fire. Shadows dance down the walls as footfalls sound just outside the room I was deposited inside by the man who said he was security.

“Look what the tide washed in,” a deep rumble booms across the room.

My hand wraps around my waist to ease the nerves.

“This is private property. Do you want to tell me what it is you’re doing docking here?” The voice steps into the light, stealing my breath.

He looks like a man from the stories Clara used to tell me at night when I couldn’t sleep. Dark probing eyes seek me out, making a quiver of excitement and fear ripple through my body. Powerful arms fold across a broad chest covered in clothes I’m not used to: formal wear, a suit.

He has a confidence about him that commands the space he’s dominating with his size. He’s taller than me by a comfortable foot and a half. As he edges closer, the urge to run away sends a rush of energy to my legs. “Do you speak?” He narrows his dark orbs on me, bringing a hand up to loosen a tie around his neck.

Moving toward a table set out with bottles full of liquids, he asks, “Drink?”

The dryness of my throat aches. A longing to quench a thirst I hadn’t realized I had has me nodding and pushing a meek, “Yes, please,” past my lips.

The quirk of his lips doesn’t go unnoticed as he pours amber liquid into two glasses and hands me one. His fingers brush mine as I accept the offering, sending a spark over my skin. My eyes fixate on the contents of the glass. There are two mouthfuls at most. Maybe he can’t spare more. I smile a thank you and lift the glass, taking a sip.

A harsh burn explodes over my tongue, making me gag. “Oh God, what is that?” I choke out, holding the glass out to give it back to him. A harsh laugh barks from his lips, making my stomach dip.

“You’re one of them, aren’t you?” He steps toward me, closing in around me like a predator would prey. I shuffle back, bumping my hip against a couch.

“One of who?” I frown.

“Cult Island.” He scoffs, snatching the glass from me and throwing the contents into the fire. It hisses and snaps, flames jumping out in retaliation. “I should have guessed by what you’re wearing.” He smirks, his eyes lazily roaming down my body, making a blush bloom on my cheeks.

My Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5

She doesn’t believe her father’s preaching and she wants to live her life on her terms. That means she has to sneak away and find a way to get off the Island that she was born and raised on. Just because he believes what he is saying and others follow his lead, does not mean that his teachings are right or just.

Mona is a young girl who has a dark side, even though her father is the leader and minister of their group on the Island. His teachings have been tough and cruel, and Mona does not believe any of his teachings. Her and her older sister, Clara, dream of a life away from the Island, but their father has always told them that the world outside the Island was dark and dangerous.

Clara manages to escape and find happiness, but it is not what she was hoping for. She is taken in by the Ward brothers who are wealthy twins. They have a history with the Island that she comes from and their reactions to her are different.

I really enjoyed this story, it has the right amount of darkness, danger, and twisted characters that have you wondering if they are who they portray themselves to be. This story is dark, twisted, and very steamy. Mona is not as naïve as the Ward brothers believe she is. She is naïve when it comes to the outside world, but she is a quick learner and finds herself where she wants to be, which is free from her father and his demented teachings. There are a lot of twists in this story and the danger and unexpected turns pulled me in and held me until the end of the book. I give this story a 4.5-star review and suggest it readers who are interested in dark romance, retellings of fairy tales, and women who are not afraid to reach for what they want and take no prisoners in the process.
