Review of Secret Empire: Broken Cross Book 5, by Bri Blackwood @BriBlackwood2

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

The joker of the family has a serious side. Gage Cross is the youngest of the family, he may be a twin, but his brother Broderick is a couple of minutes older and has no problem reminding Gage of that fact. Gage is working his side jobs just like his brothers, but he’s keeping his close to the vest. He’s fed up with his father and brothers not taking him serious in the Cross Empire. His side job is dangerous and very important to him, he wants to be sure that everyone he loves is safe and protected from the threat that the Cross family is under, but he has to figure where the threat is coming from to neutralize it. His investigations will take him to places he is not expecting.

Aside from his investigative work, Gage has to be sure to be on top of his job at Cross Enterprises too. When he finds that he has to do a lot of work on his own to get things accomplished, he is overridden by his father and given a new assistant. His new assistant is shared with Damien though and he is not expecting great work, but he is pleasantly surprised by her.

I love these books and Secrete Empire was just as suspenseful, action packed, and great as the others before it. I love the characters and the plot of these stories. Stolen Empire looks to be another great addition to the series. Gage and Melissa are a great pair and great partners. I would love to read more about them in the next book. I didn’t quite feel as though their story was finished, I’m not sure why. Maybe because I loved them so much. I look forward to reading more of the series in the near future and I give this book a 5-star review.

Review of Torch’s Torment by J. Lynn Lombardi #RoyalBastardsMC Los Angeles, CA Chapter

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 3.5 out of 5

Torch is conflicted. He has two women that are vying for his attention, and there is something about each of them that draws him to them. One is sweet and innocent and the other is strong, independent, and takes nothing from anyone. The only problem is that Torch can’t decide which one he cares about more.

This story is rife with secrets being revealed, characters that aren’t exactly who they are acting to be, characters that have no idea their true identity, action, danger, and some twists and turns. I enjoyed the story and like the characters. I found some of the secrets to be a bit much, not that it really distracted from the story, but seemed a bit out there for me. While I like the RBMC world and the many chapters and authors, this book was not my favorite. I am looking forward to more in the Los Angeles, CA Chapter, but have to give this book a 3.5-star review because of the secrets that are being held. I love Torch and I found the vulnerable side of him to be sweet. I know these are big, bad bikers, but everyone has a vulnerable side, whether they want to admit it or show it.

Review of Taken by the Biker (RBMC, Charleston, WV Chapter) by Glenna Maynard @gchellewrites #RBMC

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

They met when they were just kids and formed a bond, but circumstances being as they were, Benicio needed to protect Hazel and in doing so he put them in a situation where they were separated. They both had to survive without the other and Benicio “Holy” found a new family, the RBMC of Charleston, WV where he became the chaplain. Hazel had to do unspeakable things to survive, but she has a job and a roof over her head. She has a few friends, but are they really friends?

Holy is tasked with finding his president’s missing niece. When he sees the picture of the woman he is searching for, he knows that the woman that was meant to be his will be again. They have a past and he won’t let Hazel go again, no matter who tries to separate them, he will fight for her with all he is.

This was a tragic story of two people getting a second chance to make a future together and be happy. They both had tough childhoods but when they found each other, their lives were complete. They endured a lot to come out the other side and now they have a chance to be together and be happy, but there is still someone out to hurt them and destroy what they could have. I love the characters of the RBMC, I have yet to read about a chapter that I don’t like, or to read a book in the collection that I don’t like. They all draw me in from the first page and are hard to put down. When I’ve read the last page, I am always left wanting more. I love the authors in this world just as much as I love the characters and I am looking forward to more in the near future. I give this book a 5-star review.

Review Tour of Drawing Dead: A Good Run of Bad Luck Series, Book 1.5 by Giulia Lagomarsino @crzybookladyluv @EJBookPromos

Title: Drawing Dead
Series: A Good Run of Bad Luck #1.5
Author: Giulia Lagomarsino
Genre: Small Town Romance
Release Date: September 6, 2021

Ilikebooksbest.com“If you have read any books by Giulia Lagomarsino, you know her characters are all zany and quite a bit crazy. That is one thing I love about her books.”
S&C’s Book Blog – “This may of been a short interlude to the next book, but I loved every second and isn’t to be missed.”
Goodreads Review – “I absolutely loved this book!!!”

For the past few years, I was drawing dead. Every hand that was dealt to me couldn’t possibly give me a win. But with every step I took to move past my anger and hatred, I felt myself healing, and that was largely due to the Cortell brothers. Like it or not, they helped me when I needed it the most. Every time they let me drag them down to the station, every ticket they took from me, gave me the strength to keep going. What kind of man would I be if I didn’t return the favor?

I’m a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, “No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book.” I didn’t think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn’t already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven’t been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.

MY REVIEW: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Another great story involving the Cortell Brothers, add in a bit of Reed Security series and it’s a book that is hard to put down.

Jack is still hurting from the loss of his wife, and he is still blaming Josh Cortell, but his anger is being taken out on Josh’s brothers, and they have no problem letting him. It’s their way of showing him that they care about him and he will always be part of their family. It’s about time for Jack to start moving on or he is going to hurt his son with his hate, and Corduroy is not the first person to tell him this. When Josh and Carly run into some trouble, Jack is there for them and getting involved with the Cortell family again feels right. He won’t admit that to Corduroy though, he’s too stubborn for that.

When Josh and Carly hit a rough patch and need the family around them, the Cortell brothers are there, but they can’t get ahold of Derek and the brothers begin to worry. When no one can reach Antonio to tell them that Carly needs him, Jack decides to put his redemption skills to the test and offers to go find him.

I love this story and the characters are always fun to read. The things these characters get up to are so hilarious and these stories make me want to keep reading. I am now wanting more Reed security along with the Cortell brothers. These guys find themselves in the most interesting situations and work so hard to get out of them, but they only find themselves in deeper trouble and the shenanigans only get better. I love Ms. Lagomarsino’s characters, and I want more of her books. The men are over the top cautious and protective and the women are over the top crazy, defiant, and independent. When will these men ever learn that their women are smarter than them and will always find a way to fight back at the overprotective Alpha’s that they are? I give this story a 5-star review.

AUTHOR BIO

A.K. Evans is a contemporary romance author of over twenty published novels. While she enjoys writing a good romantic suspense novel, Andrea’s favorite books to write have been her extreme sports romances. That might have something to do with the fact that she, along with her husband and two sons, can’t get enough of extreme sports.

Before becoming a writer, Andrea did a brief stint in the insurance and financial services industry and managed her husband’s performance automotive business. That love of extreme sports? She used to drive race cars!

When Andrea isn’t writing, she can be found homeschooling her two sons, doing yoga, snowboarding, reading, or traveling with her family. She and her husband are currently taking road trips throughout the country to visit all 50 states with their boys.

MY REVIEW: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Cash is the lead singer of My Violent Heart, the industrial rock band. When he first lays eyes on Demi, he’s intrigued by the fact that she is not falling all over herself to speak to him or get his attention, in fact, she won’t even seem to give him the time of day. He finds her intriguing, but also beautiful and he can’t seem to get her out of his mind. The few days the band is in NH he tries everything he can think of to get her attention and her phone number, but it’s a no go. She’s just not interested, or is she?

Demi has seen the pain and turmoil of a broken marriage and relationship from an early age. Her job as an adult has shown her more of it since she’s grown up and she is not going to give her heart to anyone, especially a rock star that has been in the news with many women and can have any woman he wants at any time. She may think that Cash is sexy, but she’s also convinced that he would not be faithful, and she would never put herself in that situation.

I’m not a huge fan of Rock Star Romances, but I am a fan of A.K. Evans and her writing, so I thought I’d read her new series Rock Stars & Romance. I was not disappointed at all. The characters were great, down to earth, kind, and determined. They are rock stars and live the rock star life, but they also have morals and there may be a secret within the band. I loved Cash and Demi’s story. Cash was determined and caring with Demi. While it took her a while to get on board with Cash, their road was not easy, but it was worth the trip. I love the characters in this new series, and I am looking forward to the rest of the stories. I really want to read Beck’s story, I can’t wait to see where the band members go and the relationships they find. I give this story a 5-star review.

It’s NOW LIVE! Review of Afflicted with Desire

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

He was fine with his life the way it was now. He left NOLA to escape the pain and trouble he found himself in ten years ago. Even though he left part of his heart behind, he knew that his little girl was better off without him. When his president wants him back as the Sergeant At Arms for the NOLA Chapter of the RBMC, Scorn has no choice but to return. However, when he finds out why Jameson wanted him to return, he’s not happy.

She wanted to start her own school for autistic and special needs children when she ran into the red tape and fear of public-school policies. Kristin had the space, part of her father’s property in town and just needed to convert it to a school. What didn’t expect was to have her father make a deal with the RBMC to protect her because they had a deal in place.

I loved this story, but it was an emotional roller coaster of a ride. Scorn not only suffered loss ten years ago when took off, but now he will face it again. He’s not ready for the loss or the gain that he will find when he returns to NOLA. This story is emotional, action packed, and full of great characters. Scorn knows that he shouldn’t go against his president, but he can’t help himself. Kristin is not used to the bad boy’s but the pull she has with Scorn is beyond her control. These two may not normally fit together, but they were made for each other. I love the RBMC books, all of the authors have done a great job with their stories and I look forward to continuing reading all of the chapters stories. I give this book a 5-star review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review of Dash of Regret: Lone Star Rangers, Book 3 by K. L. Ramsey @KLRamsey5

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

She and her best friend Tessie were inseparable, so when Tessie found herself pregnant and the father nowhere to be found, Cricket moved in with her and helped her raise Daisy. Cricket was prepared to share the responsibilities with Tessie for as long as she needed her to. However, an unfortunate tragedy strikes, and Cricket finds herself in a new situation and she’s ready to fight for what she believes is right.

He wanted out of the service, he’s spent enough time protecting and serving his country and he’s seen enough, but when his discharge papers don’t come through in time, he has to report for going back overseas. Dash is not happy about these new orders and decides to drown his sorrows at the local bar, where he meets a woman and agrees to go out to his truck with her. He has never felt good about how he treated the woman from the bar, but unfortunately, he can’t remember her name or how to reach her to make amends.

I liked this third story of Lone Star Rangers Series. These two will forced to work together to get what they both want and then a whole new side comes to light for both. The love and care that Dash shows Daisy is sweet and the way that he approaches her and introduces himself to her was great. He isn’t pushy and he shows care for her feelings, which I really liked. The fact that she is smitten with him is great. She’s a sassy little thing and I loved that. I love the characters in the Lone Star Rangers Series, and I hope there will be more to come. I give this story a 5-star review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review of Eagle Eye: Mountain Men Mercenaries, Book 1 by K. L. Ramsey @KLRamsey5

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

He’s a man that is used to going into the deepest and darkest recesses of life to rescue people or take down the bad guys, but when he has to rescue his best friend’s younger sister, a woman that he’s had a past with, his life will be changed. The pain and torture she went through will stay with him forever. Dean is prepared to stay by her side and help her through this, but she’s got other ideas.

She had one special night with the man that she’s loved for long time, but she wasn’t a woman to sit around and wait for him to return from a job and worry about whether he would return or not, so she left him a note and moved on with her life. However, the new job she took was not what she had expected it to be, and she found herself in a bad place and needed to be rescued. Of course, the one man that has always loved would be the man to find her and rescue her. Too bad that she feels that she can’t stay with him because she doesn’t want to bring danger to his doorstep, and she needs to be alone to heal before she can settle down.

This is a great start to a new series. Dean Quinn is a man that has had his fill of red tape and rescues of people that have been tortured and broken down. When he finally decides to move on from Jules, he gets an unexpected visit from a surprise guest and everything that he has been fighting to put behind him resurfaces. The man he hunted for almost five years resurfaces and is finally getting what he deserves, but he’s powerful and rich, so he can pretty much gain his freedom when he wants, which will put too many people in danger. Dean and two of his military buddies are ready to start their own company to rescue those that the government deems not worthy of their time and help out those that cannot afford to hire a company to help them out. The Mountain Men Mercenaries are born and I can’t wait for more stories with these guys. As usual with K.L. Ramsey, I love the characters and the storyline of this book. The characters always leave me wanting more of their story. I give this story a 5-star review.

Review of Deadly Desire: The Deadly Series, Book 3 by Erin Trejo @trejo_erin

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

Tino is finally beginning to find his footing within the family and Enzo is giving him more responsibility. He’s now running the strip club, and Enzo is letting him run it the way he wants. Tino is fair but makes no qualms about being tough either. His new dancer seems to be the center of turmoil with the other dancers and Tino wants to talk with her to find out what is going on, but after he talks to her, he finds that he can’t seem to get her off his mind. There is just something about her that draws his attention.

She keeps to herself and doesn’t want to make any waves in her new life. She came to work for the Ricci’s because she knew that they protected their own and if she danced for them at the club she would be under their protection. Victoria’s on the run with her sister and fears being found because it could mean death for her, but pain and suffering for her sister. It doesn’t matter that she’s drawn to Tino Ricci, she has to keep her distance so he doesn’t find out her secret, but as she will soon find out, Tino Ricci and his brother Enzo are determined men.

This was a great story in the The Deadly Series and I love the characters. The Ricci family is close and protective, not only with their blood family, but with those that they consider family as well. Tino and Victoria are attracted to each other and no matter how hard they fight it; they can’t deny destiny. The story is rife with danger, action, strong, independent women and Alpha, overprotective men. I loved every bit of it, the characters, plot, and page turning action. I give this book a 5-star review and hope there are more to come of this family.

Review of Blacktop Freedom: Kings of Vengeance MC, Book 7 by Winter Travers @EJBookPromos

Jax Adler

Kaye Crew

Two paths that crossed years ago, and then their lives imploded.

Now on the opposite sides of the law, but both want the same thing: The Devil’s Rebels destroyed.

Can Kaye and Jax wade through their past to focus on the present, or will they destroy each other in the end?

The Kings want vengeance, but now so does the law.

MY REVIEW: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

He kept his mouth shut for family, and paid the price by going to prison, but the woman he loves doesn’t know that. He spent five years paying for the decision he made because he isn’t a snitch, and he lost the one person that made his life brighter in the process. Now he’s out and looking to stay that way, but Jax “Brick” can’t seem to move on from the past and knowing that the police and Kaye are watching his every move waiting for him to mess up again makes it even harder to move on from her.

She was devastated to find out that the man she loved and had spent a year with was not who she thought he was. She was just doing her job that night though. Now that he is out, she is keeping a close eye on him and his friends in the Kings of Vengeance MC. Kaye is determined to find out who is selling drugs in Whitmore, and she has a feeling that the Kings of Vengeance can lead her to them. However, she did not plan on Jax “Brick” rocking her world again after five years apart.

Brick and Kaye are working toward the same goal, but they will both need to talk and clear the air if they want to work together to clean up their town. The Kings of Vengeance are working to clear their town of drugs and the MC that is causing all the trouble, but when they find out that they are being watched closely they have to change their plans completely and then things take another turn. There are a couple of twists and turns in the story that I was not prepared for, but it just made the story that much better. I love the Kings of Vengeance brothers and their women certainly keep them on their toes. Crazy is not even the right word for those women. I was a little disappointed that there was no “book club” meetings in this book, I think adding Kaye to their “book club” can be interesting. I love the characters and the story, and I look forward to Ride or Die next. I give this book a 5-star review, and I hope the next book is out soon. I really need to find out what is going on.
