⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 out of 5-stars
Patricka “Trixie” has spent ten years trying to get Roll to commit to her. He told her in the beginning that it wouldn’t happen. She’s ready to move on and leave the MC behind and find herself a man that will love her and give her what she thinks she wants. If she could find someone that compares to him but doesn’t have the fear or commitment, she would be all set.

Roll knows that Trixie is his and she is what he wants, but he’s afraid that he won’t be able to give her what she wants out of life. The trouble is that he can’t let her go either. He’s selfish and wants her all to himself. The Devil Lancers may take care of the problem for him.

I couldn’t put it down. It’s full of heat, Alpha males, and sassy, take no crap women. I love Trixie, but these two were giving me anxiety with their non-communication. Big bad bikers who are private and keep crap to themselves and women who take no crap from anyone or as Trixie was known, the Venom Vixen, who is not afraid to be very blunt, make for a lot of drama and anxiety.

I loved this story and hated for it to end. Although, I did love the ending and the way that Roll finally let things roll off his back and accept that Trixie was it for him and he was it for her. I give this story a 4-star review and highly recommend it to readers who like MC, sassy women, and Alpha men who protect what is theirs.

Blog Tour, Giveaway and ARC Review of Sound by Catherine Fearns @rararesources @metalmamawrites #TuesdayBookBlog

Sound

Sound
Can you hear it?

A professor of psychoacoustics is found dead in his office. It appears to be a heart attack, until a second acoustician dies a few days later in similar circumstances.

Meanwhile, there’s an outbreak of mysterious illnesses on a council estate, and outbursts of unexplained violence in a city centre nightclub. Not to mention strange noises coming from the tunnels underneath Liverpool. Can it really be a coincidence that death metal band Total Depravity are back in the city, waging their own form of sonic warfare?

Detective Inspector Darren Swift is convinced there are connections. Still grieving his fiancé’s death and sworn to revenge, he is thrown back into action on the trail of a murderer with a terrifying and undetectable weapon.

But this case cannot be solved using conventional detective work, and D.I. Swift will need to put the rulebook aside and seek the occult expertise of Dr. Helen Hope and her unlikely sidekick, guitarist Mikko Kristensen.

My Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5-stars

I devoured this book. It pulled me in from the first page and wouldn’t let me go until the end.

I love Ms. Fearns books and find that they make me think and ponder on the subjects and the content of her books. While they are centered around religion they are not books about religion, but about the world around us and how most people ignore what is around them. I found the quote below to be true and eye opening.

“Nowadays we are afraid of silence. We need the constant buzz of television, music, chatter. But I say to you today, do not be afraid of silence, for it is only when we are silent that we can be close to God. Is it any wonder that deaf children were once thought of as angels? For their ears are unsullied by the corrupt sounds of this Earth?”

A story of a detective searching for something to make him feel alive again, a retired nun who teaches theology at a local college, and her love for metal music, and a Swedish metal band that all seem to somehow come together to solve such terrible crimes. They are each from such different worlds, yet they all work so well together.

I really enjoyed reading this book and give it a 5-star review. I highly recommend it to readers who are looking for a story that’s a bit different, but enjoy police procedural, crime, and psychological thrillers. If you are interested in any of these genres, then you really should pick up Sound by Catherine Fearns, but you need to read Reprobation and Consuming Fire first.

Review of Christine: Heaven Hill Short, book #2 by Laramie Briscoe

Christine

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5-stars!

Wow! Thank you for writing Christine’s story. It is heartbreaking, healing, and beautiful. I loved it.

Christine is still feeling guilty for Travis’s betrayal of Heaven Hill. She is cutting herself off from the club and her friends believing that she doesn’t have the right to be friends with them any longer, and that she betrayed the club and her friends. The club does not feel that way, they still feel that Travis betrayed them, but if she comes clean with them, I am sure that they will understand a lot better.

I give this short story a 5-star review, and highly recommend it as well as any Heaven Hill book.

Review of Kill Switch (Devil’s Night, Book #3) by Penelope Douglas

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 out of 5-stars

Another great story in the Devil’s Night series. I have loved all of the books so far and this book does not disappoint. With Damon being the most feared member of the group, this book was awesome and showed how Damon became who he is. This story is full of twists, turns, and mayhem.

Damon has come back for the one woman who ever understood him but also destroyed him when they were younger. He was revenge for serving time for something that was not a crime. He is also playing a part in his father’s little scheme to rule the little town they live in. He has his father believing that he is following his dictates, but he has his own agenda and finds that his heart is not as black and broken as he thinks it is.

Winter’s mind has blocked a lot out about what happened to her when she was eight. With the help of her father’s brainwashing due to his hatred of the Torrance family, she believes what she has been told all these years and when Damon comes back for retribution for what happened when they were teens, she has a hard time keeping all of the facts straight. She remembers the good parts of Damon from when they were teens, but the accident from when she was younger keeps her a prisoner in her mind about Damon.

I love this book and give it a 5-star review. Penelope Douglas knows how to write a story about hate, revenge, twisted minds, and the line between love and hate. The characters in this story as well as the other books in the series are characters that you want to hate but can’t help but love. They are destructive, wild, and just looking for acceptance in life, something they never had as children growing up in wealthy families with parents who only cared about money and power. I can’t wait to read Will’s story.

Review of Owning Madison by Elisa Leigh

Madison is running from a past that left her embarrassed, feeling alone, and unlovable. She has fled to a small town and is trying to move on and live her life. She keeps to herself and tries not to draw too much attention to herself. She’s had enough of that to fill a lifetime and now she wants to be unnoticed and left alone.

Joe is retired from the military and owns his own garage in the small town he was raised in. He’s forty years old and tired of hook ups and one-night stands. He wants a woman to spend his life with and take care of. He knows that Madison is young, but he can see himself living a good life with her. He doesn’t know about her past, but he really doesn’t care either. He wants her and he will go for what he wants.

This was a quick read and it was easy to read. I give this story a 3.5-star review. I recommend it to readers who like older man younger woman romance.

Stefan Sabbioni showed up uninvited in my bedroom on my sixteenth birthday. He stood in the shadows smelling of whiskey and death and wrapped a broken, blood-crusted necklace around my neck. I thought he’d strangle me with it.
That night, he left a message for my father. He said he’d be back to take something precious.
I never delivered that message, though. I wonder if things would be different if I had because now, two years later, he’s back. And he’s not hiding in any shadows.
He’s come to make good on his promise.
He’s back to take that something precious.
Me.

Stefan
Marchese is the manipulator of my family’s tragedy. I won’t just bring him to his knees. I’ll bury him for what he did.
Taking his daughter is only the beginning. I’ll do it knowing I’m starting a war. I’ll do it knowing my enemies will become his allies. They’ll stop at nothing to destroy me and he’ll stop at nothing to get her back.
I’ve never shied away from war, though. I’m not one to play nice and I don’t share my toys. I’ll demolish you if you touch what’s mine.
And she is most definitely mine.

My Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5-stars

Gabriella Marchese is a pawn in life. Her life is not her own and she has no choices in her life. She’s ruled by her father and his criminal life. He’ll marry her off to the best man that will get him more power and money in his life, not for love or respect for his daughter. Her life has not been a fairy tale and she is not a princess in her father’s eyes. She’s a possession. Her wants and needs are not relevant, and she will never have the life she wants. Her father is dangerous and has already proven to her that he doesn’t value his family. They are expendable to him.

Stefan Sabbioni is not a man to cross. He is looking for revenge for the death of his father and his older brother. He will get that revenge by taking the only family that Gabriel Marchese has left, his daughter Gabriella. She will be Stefan’s and he will destroy Marchese for the way that he destroyed his family. Little does Stefan know that Gabriella is not the princess he thinks she is in the Marchese house. He is actually helping her by taking her away, but will he realize that in time, or will he lose her too.

I was so frustrated with these two because they both assume so much about each other and neither one talks or gives anything away. I know that they are enemies, but they need to talk and come clean with each other and stop talking around things and keeping secrets. Stefan has a soft spot for Gabriella, but he won’t admit it and Gabriella has feelings for Stefan, but she won’t admit it either. They are both stubborn and strong willed and it could destroy what they could have. If they don’t start sharing with each other they could find themselves alone or worse.

I give this story a 4.5-star review and recommend it to readers who like angst, arranged marriage, mafia, and stubborn, strong minded characters. It does have a cliff-hanger and it will make you want the next book right away to get your answers, fair warning. I look forward to the next book and hope it comes really soon.

ARC Review: Losing Bash by Khloe Wren @LWoodsPR

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5-stars

The Charon MC is an MC that is much like the Satan’s Knights. They are ally’s and even though they may not be completely on the legal side, they are loyal and a family MC. This was my first time reading any of the Charon MC books, but I had been introduced to them in the Satan’s Knights books and I liked the characters that I had read in there.

Losing Bash is a sad story but it’s also a story of a young man finding his place in the world and finding his way in life. He’s loyal to his mother and his brothers in the MC even though he feels that he has been strung along for far too long. He still respects the leadership of the MC, but he needs a change so that he can grow and find his own way now.

I loved Bash, he is sexy, quiet, loyal, and a bit of a loner. He wants to be loved and he wants to find his other half. A trip to NY could be the answer to all of his problems. He has been keeping things bottled up and to himself for too long now and one thoughtless comment from a newer prospect could be the end for Bash in the Charon MC.

I loved this story and can’t wait to read more after Ms. Wren has turned the reigns over to Janine Infante Bosco for the next chapter in Bash’s story. I give this story a 4.5-star review and cannot recommend this story enough. Khloe Wren and Janine Infante Bosco have done a great job with this crossover collection.

ARC Review: Rite of Passage by Janine Infante Bosco @JanineBosco @LWoodsPR

ROP_INDIVIDUAL_BANNER

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5-stars

I love the Satan’s Knights and I absolutely love Jack Parrish. I’ve read most of the Satan’s Knights and loved all of them, and this story does not disappoint.

Needles’ story of how he came to be a member of the Satan’s Knights has some tragic times, but in the end, he found a place he felt comfortable enough to call home. He is a man who was looking for a family and a place of acceptance. His first MC, Satan’s Knights of Albany, was nothing like the Satan’s Knights of Brooklyn. He knows that the Satan’s Knights had his back and he just has to make sure that he asks for that help when he needs it.

His world was turned on its axis several times in his life and in Rite of Passage his life will be turned upside down again. Just another crossroad he will have to cross to find peace and a life for his daughter Ashlynn. Needles became a father before he was ready, and his baby mama decided he was going to be the only parent in Ashlynn’s life when she dropped her off at the door of the MC when she was a baby. He has struggled to be the father Ashlynn needs, but after a trip to Texas, he starts to get his act together.

I loved this story and can’t wait to read more after Ms. Bosco has turned the reigns over to Khloe Wren for the next chapter in Needles’ story. I give this story a 4.5-star review and cannot recommend this story enough, as well as the other stories in the Satan’s Knights MC series.

My 5-star ARC Review of Guy by Bry Ann @AuthorBryAnn . Happy Release Day!!

Guy Cover

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5-stars

Guy is a socially awkward computer nerd who hates living in society. After years of living on the streets and surviving because of his best friend Frances, he moves away from society and the warped ways of people. He does best on his own and lives on his own private island away from everyone. He likes it that way. He runs his own business and is very well off.

Katrina needs to get away from her life and wants to hide out on an island so that her abuser cannot find her. She needs time to heal from the last beating she received. However, she is not prepared for the island and how dangerous it could be. When a storm rolls in, she is scared and doesn’t know what to do. When she hears a man’s voice trying to coax her to go with him for safety, is surprised to find someone else on the deserted island.

Bry Ann hit it another home run with this book. I love her books and this one does not disappoint. The characters in her stories may be dealing with a lot from their childhoods, but they always find the one person who can complete them and make them whole again. These characters have a lot going on but when they meet and get to know each other, they find that they are a perfect match. There are so many lines in this book that I loved, but a couple that really stood out to me and made me smile were “And let me tell ya, nothing leads to better sex than a happy guy and a confident female. And we have some bomb-a** sex that day.” This is so true. Confidence in either a man or a woman is so sexy. I also loved the reference to Seven, “He comes back in the room with—I’m not kidding you—a sword. Yep. Apparently, a “co-mobster” of Frances’s (I have no idea what to call him) uses swords as a weapon and now he’s got Guy all interested in it.” I also love the part about Bart. Bry Ann’s book always make me cry, laugh, and get so angry at the characters for being so stupid at times.

I love Guy’s awkwardness and his little quirks, but he was trained by one the best from the streets on how to take care of himself, and he can be a force to be reckoned with if provoked. I give this story a 5-star review and I look forward to more stories from Bry Ann in the future. You really have to read this book, it’s a wonderful story and a beautiful beginning for Guy and Kiki.

ARC Review of Ravage (The Severinov Bratva Series Book #5) by Kristin Luciani @kristin_luciani

Protect the empire at all costs, eliminate any threats, and defeat our enemies.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5-stars

Ravage

I have loved the Severinov family from the beginning of the series, Defiance. A family dangerous, sexy, loyal Bratva members who are fighting to keep their family safe and alive, and finding their other halves in the process. Even in the despair they go through over those they could not protect and save.

Alek Severinov is the oldest son of the Severinov family and is second in command until he is suddenly the head of the family. The pressures he has in protecting his family and keeping his businesses going make him a very disliked member of the family. He has too much to worry about and has no time or inclination to let anything get in his way. Even the woman that he has not been able to forget for the past six months since he returned form Sicily. That is until she’s put back into his line of sight and he can’t let anything happen to her.

Gianna Marcone is the only girl in the Marcone family, and she is lucky to be alive, after an attack on her life when she was a young girl. Her brothers smother her and keep her from any danger that could be lurking. She is tired of not living and having someone watch her every move. The one man that she wants told her that she has to stay away. She’s still angry at him for telling her brothers what happened six months ago, when he saved her life, because it only made her brothers more protective of her. She wants to live a normal life and go out and meet someone who will treat her normally, but it seems that she just can’t find that guy.

I loved Alek’s story. He is such a machine but, in this story, we finally find the human inside and the vulnerable side of him. The soft side of Alek is such an awesome side to see. He will do anything in his power to keep Gianna safe and protect her. When he finally gives in to his feelings their story, it’s a beautiful fall for a man who believes that he can’t have what his siblings have. His mind is always on the dark side and he finally finds his light in Gianna.

I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend this book as well as the full series to readers who like bratva, mafia, crazy women, strong, bada** women, and men. I am looking forward to reading more of Kristin Luciani’s books in the near future. She has The Mob Lust Series that I need to read still.
