Dishonored Teaser 4

Caesar wasn’t sitting in his spot for more than two minutes before a girl in a tight, black bodycon dress and sky-high red heels came to deliver his drink. She flashed him a sensual smile as her hand came to rest on her hip. His gaze drifted over her to take her in—she was sexy enough, as far as that went, but nothing stirred him to act.
“Anything else I can help you with?” she asked. “Maverick said to make sure you were pleased.”
Caesar offered the woman a charming smile. “For now, I am. Grazie, bella.”
Her brow lifted at his Italian, and she grinned a bit. Women always did like it when the foreign language came out to play—Caesar never really understood the appeal. He could make a woman come just as well in English as he could in Italian. Who fucking cared what he was actually saying while they were riding his dick?
“Just let me know,” the woman all but purred.
He might.
Not tonight.
All it took was a flick of his hand, and the girl was gone. Maverick had trained his staff well, and the girls were used to being either the center of attention when it came to a patron, or dismissed altogether. Caesar usually fell into the latter category here because there was always something a little more interesting that came along to catch his eye.
Like that right there—damn.
The woman sitting on a couch just across from his had entirely passed his view as he scanned the club, and right then, she seemed entirely oblivious to him as well. Caesar liked that because if nothing else, it gave him the time to peruse her.
And damn, was she a sight to see.
The body-hugging gold dress draped over her shoulders dipped low enough in the front to give him a peek at ample, perky tits, and collarbones that made his dick hard. Yeah, he had a thing for those—liked to bite them, really.
A slit in the skirt of the short dress came up to her thigh, and when she crossed her legs, he swore he saw a flash of bright red lace hiding beneath. God save me. He would have groaned out loud if he were a lesser man, honestly. Anything red or lace was his weakness, and he wasn’t even ashamed to admit it.
Her black fuck-me heels helped to give her long, smooth legs the kind of promise that whispered they would look even better wrapped around his waist or head. Shit, he wasn’t fucking picky—she could even have it both ways, if she wanted.
The woman’s painted red lips and brown-copper curls framed delicate features, soft lips, and wide green eyes. Her gaze was darkened by smoky makeup he suddenly had every dark urge to smudge and ruin, and he wondered what that shade of lipstick she wore might look like when it was a ring at the base of his dick.
Wow, yeah.
He needed to get laid.
By that female right there.
As though she could feel his eyes on her, the woman turned her head from whatever had caught her attention, and her gaze landed directly on Caesar. Those small lips of hers curved in the most wicked way as her green orbs took him in from head to toe. He knew what she was seeing—women usually liked what they looked at when it came to Caesar, and he did aim to fucking please.
Black Armani.
Italian leather loafers.
Gold rings on every finger.
A let-me-fuck-you smile.
Sometimes, he could get them with just that smile of his alone.
Unashamed, the woman kept staring. Caesar lifted a single brow, and then pointed a single finger to the drink in her hand. Something red, by the looks of the little bit left in the glass. Probably sweet, but still enough bite to get her buzzed enough not to taste it. Her stiletto red—the same shade as her lips—fingernails tapped a beat against the glass.
“You want another one of those?” he asked.
Even over the thrumming bass from the music, and the noise of the club, he could tell she had heard him just fine by the way her nose crinkled a bit.
“No, thank you.”
Caesar stiffened at her voice.
Soft, sure.
But silken.
Like the words stroked her lips with each one she spoke, and they probably tasted like sex coming out.
But it wasn’t even that which made him pause. No, it was the hint of the accent in the background of her words—Italian.
“Care to join me?” he asked.
The woman gave him a second look, and then nodded. It wasn’t a blink and a breath in time before she was gracefully standing from her own couch, and crossing to join him on his. He couldn’t help but take in the way her trim waist melted into shapely thighs. All that golden skin of hers looked good enough to fucking eat.
“You looked lonely,” he said to her after she had rested back on his couch. “Couldn’t have a beautiful woman being sad on my watch.”
The woman shrugged. “My husband flaked.”
Oh, Christ.
God was good to him.
He was the worst kind of sinner.
And God still loved him.
At least, for tonight.

Dishonored Teaser 1SYNOPSIS
Sex is his weapon.
Power is her drug.

Caesar Accardo is gasoline. Mostly harmless while stable, but Aria holds the match to set the dishonored Cosa Nostra prince on fire in more ways than one. And if he burns down everything in his path because of it—so be it.

The problem is … she just wasn’t prepared for all of him.

Aria De Rose is a hurricane. Amazing from afar, but destructive up close. Caesar keeps getting pulled into the Camorra queen’s plans in her effort to gain power, but he’s a better player than she knows.

The thing is … women like her are the reason why rules are meant to be broken.

Philadelphia isn’t ready for game these two are playing—the sacrifices they make might not be worth it in the end, and someone will always lose in a war.

They’re broken, so very vicious, and they are not the good guys. But for every villain in the world, there’s a monster at his back who made him that way.

And monsters like those hide in plain sight.

Note: This is a standalone romance with content that some might find triggering. Be warned, and read with caution.

MY REVIEW:

Adam “Blade” Garrison is chosen for a specific assignment because of his background. He’s pulled from his SEAL team to work with Ian Black’s mercenary group to infiltrate a suspected criminals business dealings to determine if the new contract with the US military is going to be a case of espionage. His assignment is to be body guard and protector for the wife of a billionaire. The only problem is that Blade was once good friends with this wife when they were in high school. However, she looks very different than she did eight years ago and Blade’s not so sure that he can be impartial to way she is treated by her husband, who only thinks of her as a possession.

Quinn Halliday is resigned to her life as a kept woman by a man who sees her as nothing more than a possession. She just wishes that she could find a way to get out of the marriage and live her life the way she wants to live it. Her chance may come when she is introduced to her new bodyguard. However, she has to pretend that she does not recognize him or he won’t get to stay.

Blade has an assignment to complete, but he now has a new mission, to get Quinn away from her husband who is in very deep with too many criminals to be safe for either of them. He will do whatever he can to keep Quinn safe.

I loved this book and I love the characters in the HOT SEAL Team series. Ian Black is a great character as are all of the SEALs. The characters are all so well rounded and developed and they seem so real. I love that these guys all work so well together and that they can call on each other whenever they need anything, not just as a SEAL Team but as buddies as well. These books always leave me wanting more and this one was no different. I love Alpha males in these books and the women who make them lose their heads so easily and make them so vulnerable. Great book. I give this book a 4.5 star review and look forward to more of the team as well as Ian’s teams books.

MY REVIEW:

DI Marco is a determined detective who will go to any length to find the bad guy. His determination can get him into trouble at times but he will get his guy. His team will stand by him even if they don’t agree with his ways at times.

When Felix Bevard is found murdered in a back room of a restaurant the investigation will lead DI Marco and his team to a previous murder and the main suspect has an alibi that seems to be ironclad. The main suspect has a history with the victim and his associates are involved in more than what everyone is aware of.

DI Marco and his team will go back to a cold case to solve the murder of Felix. This book is full of twists and suspense. The determination of DI Marco and his detective work is beyond reproach and he pours his heart and soul into his job. Although he is now beginning to realize that there is more to life than his job and he wants to spend more time with his son and his parents.

I have enjoyed reading the DI Marco books and I hope there are more to come in the future. He’s a great detective and police officer. He doesn’t cut corners when he’s investigating a crime and he won’t let anyone working on his team or for his team cut corners either. He’s determined to solve his cases and his team works very well together and very hard for DI Marco. They may not always agree with his methods or working all weekend long, but they won’t say anything to DI Marco to contradict him.

I highly recommend these books to anyone who likes crime dramas, police procedural stories, or suspense stories. The twists in this story kept me guessing and trying to find the suspect right along with DI Marco. I give this story a 4.5 star review and hope to read more of Mr. Puleston’s books in the near future.

BLOG TOUR Banner - Abby_s Promise

cover

Abby’s Promise

He walked out of my life eight years ago, and for the first couple of years, I wrote him faithfully.

Then life happened, and we lost track of each other. Now he’s back; appearing one day on campus and sweeping me off my feet. He looks the same—rough stubble on his square jaw, broody brown eyes, thick brows that always lifted when I made him laugh. My Jo-Jo has come home after eight years in Afghanistan.

She looks the same as I remember her in high school, but now she’s all woman—sophisticated, educated, and just as curvy as ever. And now she’s a professor, and I’m falling for her all over again like I did at senior prom. War screwed me up, but every day Abby was my saving grace.

She promised one day she’d never let me go, made me promise I’d come back to her. I’ve come back to claim that promise. There’s just one problem: Abby’s moved on. How will I convince the love of my life that a day never went by without her on my mind?

My Review

A story of second chances, love, and old fashioned thinking. A young woman who tried to move on with her life after her best friend and the love of her life leaves her behind. She decides to move on, but her choices could be the end of her.

Abby and Joseph (Jo Jo, Joey) were best friends, but Abby was really in love with Joseph. Too bad he was too young to realize that looks are only skin deep. Joey needed to get away from his father or he would lose himself. Joey has returned now, eight years later and has found that Abby moved on while he was away. He’s finally realized that Abby is the only girl for him.

These two go through a lot of turmoil before they are actually able to get their HEA. They have to deal with Abby’s job, Joey’s narrow minded father, and Abby’s past before they can make a life together. Their passion and love is the only thing that will help them get through everything. Joey needs to figure out his life and where he wants to go and what he wants to do, Abby needs to overcome her past and the narrow mindedness of the people in the small town they live in.

I liked this story and found it to be very real. It’s very well written and it had me cheering Abby on for being such a strong woman who knew her own mind even though she had a lot to overcome from her choices in her past. She is a woman who has a mind of her own and works very hard to prove her worth and her love.

I give this story a 3.5 star review and look forward to reading more by Ms. Dodson. This was my first book by Ms. Dodson, but I will look for more as I like her writing style. I would love to read Randy’s story.

CUT- Official blurb and cover release day!

I CANNOT WAIT TO READ THIS STORY!!

Cut, by Bry Ann

August 22, 2018

BLURB:

Scar:/

A mark left on the skin or within body tissue where a wound, burn, or sore has not healed completely and fibrous connective tissue has developed.

What a clinical definition….

My name is CUT.

It’s the name of my choosing. The only name the world will ever know. Only two people know my real name: my mom and my best friend. The woman whose innocence gave me these markings.

I fight to keep it this way, both literally and figuratively. I train criminals. I make a living walking into dens of thieves, criminals, and murders, and training them to become more depraved.

She’s a walking sex goddess, well aware of her power of over men. She’s loud-mouthed, snarky, and loose with her morals, but her loyalty knows no bounds. She wouldn’t hurt a fly. Maybe talk the thing to death, but that’s about it. I avoid her at all costs, but for some reason she doesn’t avoid me. Does she not see my scars? The raw, pink flesh that mars my skin.

I fight, train, burn, cut… but not her… never her.

Is it love?

It can’t be. I’m a monster.

BLOG TOUR BANNER - Another Good Killing

************

My Review:

Another Good Killing was another great read by Stephen Puleston, It was fast paced, with twists and suspense throughout. The way that Detective Marco figures out each case is unique and his instincts are generally always on. He gets that “gut feeling” when something feels off or not quite right, and when he investigates further or looks as the facts again he can generally find a clue that will help him.

In Another Good Killing, DI Marco feels that he has messed up and put one of his team in danger. It leads to a touchy situation for him and almost causes him to back slide. I was rooting for him the entire time while reading this section that he would walk away. His intensity for his work as well as his loyalty to his team and the people that he cares about is what makes him a a great character. DI Marco does a lot of reflecting in this story on his life and his family. This story helps him realize what is important in life and helps him to analyze his life and make changes.

I enjoyed reading this story and found it to really challenge my detective brain as well as it did DI Marco’s. I give this story a 5 star review. I highly recommend the DI Marco series to readers who like a good challenge when reading a crime thriller and like to play a couch detective while reading. I look forward to more DI Marco stories in the near future.
