Increasing her pace, a chill worked its way through Evie’s limbs. The sun was almost finished setting, and that meant it would be dark soon. Evie hated the dark. She was automatically at a disadvantage with Troy in the dark. Another disadvantage she should say. He could still see, she was blind. It was an extra layer of protection for him, like he needed that.

Luca had offered Evie a ride, but she’d declined, hoping the fresh air would clear her mind. As the echoes of her steps filled the air, she started to regret her decision. At this very moment, she could be sitting next to him in his warm car, breathing in his musky scent.

Evie could almost hear his deep voice in the back of her mind. Feel the vibration of his words. A smile touched Evie’s lips at the thought.

No. What was she doing?

Shaking her head, Evie pushed down the feelings. Feelings were dangerous. They were the reason she was where she was in her life at the moment. Luca was dangerous to her. She had to keep her distance, no matter how much her body wanted her to do otherwise.
As the hairs on the back of Evie’s neck stood up, she suddenly had the feeling of being followed. Subtly, as to not draw any attention, Evie turned her head to look down the road behind her. Nothing.

Taking a calming breath, she forced herself to maintain her pace, even though her legs wanted to race. She could see her house up ahead. Then she would be inside with the semblance of safety. Not far to go.

A rustling noise behind Evie sounded. This time she did stop. Turning, she stared out to the empty street. Again, there was nothing. About to turn back, the sight of fresh shoe tracks in the mud next to the path caught her attention.

Turning back to her house, this time, she did increase her pace.
Stop being stupid, Evie, there are dozens of people who use this path.
So why did it stick out to her?

An Action-Packed, page turner.

He’s a SEAL with abilities beyond anyone’s imagination. He works with a Team that have a variation of abilities that they don’t want the outside world to know about. The problem is that they didn’t volunteer to be used as guinea pigs for the experiments that made them who they are now. Luca Kirwin can run faster than most men, hear better than most people, and he can see in the dark. His fighting abilities are stronger and more lethal than the regularly trained SEAL. His mission along with his SEAL Team is to find the people behind the project that enhanced their abilities and stop them from doing any more research or harm to people.

Evie Scott is a woman on the run from her past. She escaped an abusive relationship and is now trying to find herself while staying alive. When she meets her new neighbor, she is petrified of him because he represents everything she is running from. Now he’s the only person who makes her feel safe. She has a lot of secrets and doesn’t want to get too close to anyone. Her main objective, other than staying alive, is to decode the encrypted file she stole from her ex. She needs to find out why he is the way he is and if the person he is now is the person he has always been. Did she miss something when they started dating? Was he always that mean, or did something change him?

This story is full action, secrets, and some really ALPHA males. They are deadly, loyal, and determined to stop those involved in Project Arma. Evie and Luca are the perfect couple and the story was great. I give the story a 5-star review and cannot wait for more in the Project Arma men. These guys don’t trust easily but when you gain their trust you become part of their family and they always protect their family. I one-clicked Uncovering Project Arma and cannot wait to read it. If you like Alpha males, strong women, ex-military men, or suspense and powerful groups that do any kind of experiments they want, stories, you will really like Luca.

Police Officer Connor Mitchell is beside himself his sister is missing, and he has no idea where she is. The police have no leads and the only lead he has is tenuous at best. The only change in her life is the dating service she signed up for and the one person she chatted with on the site. Connor is following leads and working with a PI to find his sister, but he’s afraid that he won’t find her in time to save her. She’s all the family he has left and can’t lose her too.

Evelyn is looking for a job to keep the nice apartment that she lives in with her best friend, Lacy and her daughter. She needs a job that she can do from home because she doesn’t do well in crowds or in public at all really. Her childhood taught her that monsters were real and that they could be anyone, they didn’t necessarily look like monsters. When she has the opportunity to do website work for a high school classmate, she meets with him but she’s jumpy the whole time, and when she receives a phone call from a police officer asking her about her meeting with Gabriel, she is wary of the officer and his questions.

This was an action-packed book with suspense, danger, and a twisted minded psychopath. There are no leads or evidence of where Monica Mitchell has disappeared to, but her brother is determined to find her and will stop at nothing to get her back. The characters in this story were well written and entertaining to read. I really enjoyed the story but thought that there could have been more to the ending of the story. There should have been some follow through with the ending. With that being said, I still give the book a 4-star review because it is well written and full of action and suspense with a twist, and suggest it to readers who enjoy psychological thrillers, police procedural, or characters that show their strength even after being beaten down or destroyed most of their lives. Their real strength comes out when they find the will and the one person that will be beside them no matter what. There are characters in this story that are twisted but they will be discovered, and justice will be served.

Heavy is the son of the Royal Bastards MC, Washington DC President. He was left with his father by his mother as a young boy and his father started turning his fists on him after his mother left. She needed to get away from Trick, his father if she wanted to stay alive. Heavy has no love for his father, but the MC is all he knows, and he also knows that the gavel will be handed down to him eventually. However, it may be sooner than either Trick or Heavy are aware of. Trick is a ruthless man who only cares about money and power. He has never loved his son or anyone else in his life.

Danica has just turned 18 and is now finally getting away from an abuse stepfather and a mother who doesn’t love her. The only problem is that she almost finds herself in a worse situation, until Heavy finds her first and protects her. She’s put on a bus out of the state and sent to find herself a good life. The only problem is that she can’t forget about the young man who saved her and returns seven years later to find that somethings have changed, but some have not.

This story started out pretty good, but I didn’t find it as engaging the further I got into it, I have loved the Royal Bastards MC books I have read so far, but this one was lacking something, I’m not quite sure what. The characters were alright, but the story seemed a little choppy. While there was a definite change in the time period by the chapters, sometimes it seemed that the story went from present to an overview of what happened within a chapter. I give this story a 3.5-star review. If you like MC Romance and tough bikers, you may like this story, but beware that this story does dark content that could be a trigger. It also just kind of ended. That is not the reason for my 3.5-star review however. I think this story has a lot of potential and the characters could be a little better rounded.

After walking into his girlfriend’s house and finding her murdered, Tony is struggling to get back to normal. Everyone’s looking at him like he’s damaged, but they don’t know the truth. And when they find out, they won’t ever look at him the same again. But a one night stand changes everything. Suddenly, everyone at Reed Security is trying to set Tony up with this crazy woman that can’t cook, shows up at his work, and calls him at all hours of the night. He doesn’t want to hurt her, but how long is a man supposed to go along with a crazy person that thinks there’s a relationship where there isn’t one?

 

After meeting Tony one night, Molly knows without a doubt that he’s the man for her. He’s everything she’s been waiting for, and she’s not going to let this opportunity slip through her fingers. She knows that he’s slightly damaged and dealing with a lot, but with a little encouragement from Tony’s teammates, she refuses to let him push her away. She has a whole arsenal of tips and tricks to keep a man’s attention, and with her momma’s advice and her best friend’s help, there’s no way she’ll fail. Now she just has to make Tony see that what they have is forever.

“Uh…you know, this isn’t working,” I said briskly.

She tilted her head, all cute like and looked at me in confusion. “What do you mean?”

“Us…whatever this is. It’s not going to work. You’re nice and all, but it’s just not working.”

I waited for the tears and the drop of her face. I braced myself for the yelling and name-calling. But no matter how much I steeled myself for her reaction, I just wasn’t ready for what she actually said.

“Hmmm. Well, I appreciate your input, but I think it’s going good. Pop tarts?”

“What?”

“I’m sticking some in the toaster. Want some?”

I blinked several times, shook my head, and even slapped my own face, but nothing changed. She was still standing in front of me, asking me if I wanted fucking pop tarts after I just broke up with her. She actually refused to break up with me. Could that really happen? Did I not get a say in this? And if so, was I destined to just be with her the rest of my life? I’d never been in this position before. I’d never had a woman refuse to let me break up with her. What was the protocol for this? Did I just go along with it? Maybe I should just not return her calls. Of course, that hadn’t really worked so far. She always showed up, with food.

“Honey?” She quirked her head to the side and smiled sweetly at me. “Pop tarts?”

Shaking my head, I tried again. “I’m serious, Molly. I’m breaking up with you. I don’t want to be with you anymore. It’s been fun, but let’s just end this now.”

“I hear you. I really do, and while I think you make some not very valid points, I’m going to pretend like what you said makes total sense. But we’re not breaking up. You’re just freaking out and you want to end this before it gets too real. I get it, but we’re still not breaking up.”

And with that, she turned around and left the room. I stared at the floor, trying to figure out what to do next. How the fuck had this happened? Was I being too sweet? I mean, I was never too sweet. I was never that guy that women felt they could walk all over. Yet, here I was, standing alone in my pretend girlfriend’s bedroom as she walked out after telling me we were not breaking up.

This was not happening. She couldn’t make me stay with her. She couldn’t force me to date her. I wasn’t some chump. I was Tony-fucking-Tacos. I groaned and rolled my eyes at myself. I was not Tony Tacos. I was something much cooler. I wasn’t even Mexican, and if I was honest with myself, I didn’t even like tacos all that much. Not that I would tell Molly that. She had been really sweet yesterday, bringing me food at work because she thought tacos were my favorite. 

I cursed myself for thinking of her as sweet when I was trying to break up with her. Damnit, I would not be forced to date a woman that I really liked. Fuck, I was screwed. I marched into the kitchen and slapped my hand down on the countertop.

“Listen, Molly, this is over between us. I’m not going to let you tell me that we’re not breaking up, because we are so breaking up. I’m walking out that door and you will not follow me. You will not bring me food at work, and you will not call me later tonight to ask where I am. Do you know why?”

She smiled at me. “Because you think we’re breaking up.”

“Yes. No!” I shouted. “I don’t think we’re breaking up. We are in actuality breaking up. It’s for sure. Not a possibility or a probability. We are one hundred percent broken up, as of right now,” I said, punctuating the statement by punching the counter with my pointer finger.

She nodded, her eyes wide with a very serious expression on her face. “I hear you. I want you to know that I really do hear you, but it’s just not possible for us to break up. We have that dinner with Momma and Daddy tomorrow, and they already planned dinner. Momma did all her shopping and got everything we could possibly need for your favorite dinner.”

“What dinner?” I asked hesitantly.

“Tacos,” she grinned.

“Fucking hell,” I said, throwing my hands up in the air. “I’m not even fucking Mexican!”

I’m a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, “No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book.” I didn’t think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn’t already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven’t been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.

Oh myyyy! This story was hilarious. It had it’s sad, scary and dark parts, but I was laughing so hard at Tony Taco’s story.

Tony Russo is fairly new to the Reed Security group. He’s dealing with his guilt over the recent death of the woman he was sleeping with. They weren’t in love; they were bed mates. He wishes everyone would stop treating him with kid gloves because of her death. He feels guilty enough without trying to explain the situation to them.

Molly Erickson is a naïve young woman who is quirky, eccentric, and bulldozes her way into Tony’s life after one night together. Tony doesn’t remember the connection they had on the first night they met, and Molly seems to be a psycho stalker.

I loved this story!! It was so out there and hilarious that I had to cover my mouth laughing while reading it because my husband had gone to bed. I stayed up past my bedtime to read this book and I regret nothing. It is laugh out loud funny. Tony and Molly’s relationship is so off the charts out there that you are wondering if Molly really is psycho. It all made sense when I got to the part where Tony remembered the first time they met. His complete turnaround and his realization are what make sense to the story. He is so afraid of losing someone else he cares about that he subconsciously has blocked the first night that he and Molly met. The men of Reed Security take things a bit too far with Molly while messing with Tony though and things get a bit rocky for a short time. If you are looking for a lighthearted read, with a little heavy in it, enjoy reading about a group of men who treat each other like brother, then you will love this book and series. These men and women are loyal to each other and are a true family, no matter how out there they can be at times. They are fun to read, passionate about their loved ones and will go to any length to keep each other safe. I give this story a 5-star read and look forward to more in the series.

A story of betrayal, loyalty, loss and family. He’s The Beast, he’s dark, dangerous, and not at all what she expected.

Ena was raised in a foster home until she was ten years old. She never knew her mother or father. She was told a story about her mother and when she finally moved in with a family that showed her love and what family was, she decided to keep her last name in case her mother came looking for her when she got older. Little did she know that her whole life had been a lie and due to extenuating circumstances, her life was about to change completely, and she could just hold on for the ride.

Carrick “The Beast of Boston” had a tough life as a child and when he was fifteen his life changed, and he found his calling. He put his anger and energy into fighting in the ring and became a legend in the boxing world. As he got older, he had to stop boxing and step up to help in the family business. After his father died when he was fifteen, Beast was taken in by his father’s boss, Orin, the boss of the Irish Mafia in Boston. Now he had to step up and become the second in command for Orin and the family. Beast is only loyal to his family and when a woman walks into his club and puts herself in his life, she turns it upside down and he has no idea what’s going to come next.

I loved the characters in this story. Ena is brave, strong, determined, and loyal to those she cares about. Beast is the same way with his family. These two had chemistry off the charts, but they both tried to deny it for their own reasons. When the truth of Ena’s reasons for infiltrating Eden come out and her true identity comes to light, they both have to struggle with what is right and determine where to go from there. The story is full of action, steamy chemistry, and great characters. I give the story a 5-star review. This was my first read of Jaimi Shannon, but I really enjoyed her book and would look for more if there were more on these characters. I would love to read Alana and Murphy’s story. I think Alana has a lot to tell. If you like action packed mafia stories you will love this book. It does have a dark side but is written well and makes the whole story.
