My rating: 5 of 5 stars

He’s the leader of the Moonshine Task Force, his life revolves around his job, the men on his team and keeping the citizens of his small town safe. Holden “Havoc” Thompson’s heart is locked up tight when it comes to women, but he’d really like to live his life, and not just walk through it. When he walks into a bar one night is accosted by a woman walking up to him and kissing him, he can’t get her out of his head. He knows her and he knows that he shouldn’t have feelings for her, but she caught his eye the first time he saw her standing in the shadows when he went to her house on Task Force business.

She’s the daughter in a Moonshine business family. She’s not proud of her family in any way. She’s the only female and is treated less than a second-class citizen by her father, her only ally is her younger brother, but then he starts to drift away because he has his own problems to deal with. Leighton Strather needs to get away from her family and find a life of her own. However, the day she tries to get away she ends up finding help in the most unusual place and from the most unsuspecting people.

I love the Moonshine Task Force books and I read the original Havoc book and loved it. I love the characters and the story lines. They always bring out a lot of emotions. Havoc and Leigh’s story was no different, the extra story in this Special Edition book was a great addition. I love how Ms. Briscoe can go back and bring so much more out of these characters and share it with her readers. She does an amazing job with her stories, and then to go back and squeeze more out of her characters and story is great. I give this book a 5-star review and look forward to reading the rest of the Special Edition books.
