Dominic D’Agostino had to go away to get himself back together and find his path again. I took two years and he still isn’t sure if he’s ready to return home and face what he did before he left or face the woman he’s been in love with since he as a young boy. He has always seen Constance Ricci, and has always wanted her to be his, but a promise when he was seventeen had him staying away, until he could no longer stand it, then the one thing that her father was afraid of came true and Dominic knew he should have heeded the warning.
Constance Ricci has seen tragedy, pain, and suffering since was barely a teen, but the D’Agostino’s took her in and treated her as one of their own. She was raised with the four D’Agostino boys anyways, so when tragedy struck her family she just moved to their home and was treated as one the family. That’s why she now works for the D’Agostino boys as the PA to Massimo D’Agostino on the not so legal side of the business. She still wants retribution for what happened to her as a young teen and when she sees an opportunity to find the answers, she’s been searching for she will put her life on the line to get the answers. The only problem is, she has no idea that another part of her past will show up and prevent her from setting her plan into motion.
I really liked this book, the characters are deep, dark and dangerous and the D’Agostino’s are very protective of family. They will find that the tragedy of the past is still haunting them and when Dominic returns with clearer answers and news of more danger in the near future, the family will find strength from within and a lot of the answers they’ve all been searching for will come to light. I loved the characters, story line, action and danger in the book and could not put it down. I give this book a 4.5-star review and hope for more from these characters and authors. Great job with some tough subjects and perfect characters for them.
