I’m so proud and excited that we’re doing this fundraising event. As proud sister of a veteran (Army), a sister in-law of a retired Veteran (Army), and Aunt to an Active Army Guard Reservist, I am honored to share in this as part of the Elizabeth’s Trusts, and I hope that you will check this out!

I’ve heard what it’s like to be out serving your country and have no one back home who sends you a letter, a message, or a care package. It’s hard for them, but at Christmas, it’s beyond depressing. That’s what led to:

Honour a Hero weekend!

On the weekend of June 28th, 29th, and 30th, 2024, The Elizabeth’s Trusts are concentrating on a fundraiser solely aimed at raising funds for Phoenix Trust. For this weekend, we are asking you to donate £17.00 or $21.00 towards providing a Christmas parcel for a member of the armed forces.

£17.00 will buy a Christmas box from Operation Christmas Box in the UK, which will be sent to a member of the armed forces currently serving. Christmas 2023, we raised money for 64 boxes to be delivered.

$21.00 will buy blankets, scarves, hats, travel mugs, and many other items for serving members of the armed forces and veterans who may be homeless or struggling. These will be sent via VA Centres.

These men and women fight for our right to live freely and defend our countries. Many of our armed forces don’t receive parcels in the UK and the USA from home. This can lead to feelings of depression, carelessness, and sometimes suicide. By giving £17.00 or $21.00, we can help these brave souls understand they are not alone and are thought of and cared about. Getting a parcel when you expect nothing is a huge joy and comfort and if we can help save one life, it is worth it.

Please help the Elizabeth’s Trusts help our heroes and show them they do not stand alone and that people think and pray for them and wish them all the very best.

My Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 out of 5

I read Reckless, Restless and Relentless and it was my first introduction to The Death Dwellers MC. I started with The Legacy Generation, but I wasn’t too lost since these books included some background into the OG Death Dwellers MC. This series is unpredictable, twisted, ruthless, suspenseful, and at times very maddening. There were times I wanted to reach into the book and grad some of the characters and shake them until they started using their brains and realizing the destruction they were making.

Even with the maddening parts of this series, I enjoyed reading all three books and I liked most of the characters. Not that there were bad characters, but there were annoying characters that angered me. I highly recommend this series if you like to read twisted and unpredictable MC stories. I am looking forward to reading Ruthless when it comes out.

This was my first introduction to Kathryn C. Kelly, but I will more than likely go back and read the Original series as well. There are a lot of characters to keep straight, and with the family tree at the front of the first book helps with keeping them straight.

She wants to get vengeance for the death of her twin, but her own police department and partner on the force won’t help her. In fact, they seem to be stalling her and ignoring her claims. District Cop Lia Blosky is now alone in the world, with the exception of her neighbor Mama L. Lia’s lost a lot since her family immigrated to the US. However, the worst loss is her twin and the way she lost him. Now she’s determined to make those involved pay. The only problem is that the people she’s after are dangerous and already have Lia in their sights.

Special Agent Adrian Kalin wants to break away from his family, along with two of his brothers that just want to live their lives on their terms but being the stepson of a mob leader is not easy. It’s not easy to live your life without him making threats for favors or for making a man do his dirty work. When Adrian’s stepfather, Dimitri Valesky orders him to get rid of the woman that wants to kill him, Adrian is put in tough situation and if he doesn’t do as he’s told those he loves will pay.

I really liked this story, and the characters were great. The story is action and suspense packed. Lia is a smart woman that is always thinking things through to get the results she wants, and Adrian is a man that has been on the edge for so long under his stepfather’s thumb that he can’t seem to see a way out. When Lia convinces Adrian that her plan will work, they have to go through a lot to get the results they are hoping for. I loved the mall scene and Lia’s grit and determination to stay alive and escape Adrian was both smart and dangerous, but she felt that she had nothing else to lose. Her willingness to die for what she believes shows her character and unfortunately, her loneliness in the world. This was the first book I read in this series, but I was not lost as to what was going on because Ms. Donahue covered what was needed from book 1 to know what was going on in book 2. I give this story a 4-star review and look forward to more in the series.

As a DEA agent Maggie Holt knows all too well the dangers and darkness that live in the world, so when she decides to go undercover, against the orders of her superiors, in the Mexican cartel and is held for eighteen months before she’s rescued, Maggie is a woman that needs to heal. She’s been through hell and back and now she has to convince her boss and her partner that she is healed and ready to continue her duty.

Frank Stein is a man that knows all too well the damage a person can endure when being held against their will and tortured for months. He’s a retired Navy SEAL Chief and knows the signs of PTSD well. After helping his brother in arms, Adam rescue Maggie, Adam’s partner in the DEA, from the cartel, he gives her a place to rest, relax, and hopefully heal from her ordeal. He also hopes that it shows her that they could be good for each other and together.

I had been waiting for this story to come out. After reading Maggie’s Revenge I was craving more of Maggie and her DEA team as well as the sexy cowboy that helped to rescue her. The wait was worth it. I enjoyed Maggie and Frank’s story and the story was full of continuous action, danger and great characters. Frank owns a ranch in Texas and is dealing with his own problems that go along with ranching, rustling, and making ends meet. When the ranch problems bleed into the DEA’s jurisdiction, things get heated and more dangerous. This story was a page turner with the danger, suspense between Texas and Las Vegas, and FBI agents undercover. I enjoyed the story and look forward to reading more of the Wounded Hearts Series in the future. I give this story a 4.5-star review and recommend it to readers that enjoy suspense, danger, undercover agents, and wounded heroes that are looking for respite from their dangerous pasts.

Magic, ex-Military Special Forces, shifters, oh my!

Wade Hamilton had a rough life. He left home as soon as possible and joined the service. After leaving the service he opened a tattoo parlor in New Orleans and has a desire to help people when they are in trouble. After a trip with two buddies to Alaska, and Wade rescued a young girl from two men, Wade now has more of a desire to help those that need it. He also has some help with his penchant for stepping into danger from the mother of the young girl he rescued in Alaska. Wade does have a secret though and one chance meeting with a young woman that he can’t seem to get out of his head, it could all come crashing down around him.

Tori Miller has always been a daddy’s girl, always done what he has told her, and never stands up to her father. She wants to make him proud and do as he asks, he has enough on his mind when he and her two brothers are deployed overseas so much. She is now getting ready to graduate from college and wants to have a little more courage and strength. When she walks into Wade’s tattoo parlor with her two best friends, she already has an idea for her first tattoo. Although she knows her father may not be happy about it, the tattoo is her honor to her father and brothers. After meeting Wade and seeing his tattoos, Tori asks him to add a little extra to her tattoos to include courage.

I really enjoyed this book. It is full of great characters, a great story, danger, action, and finding the truth. Tori finds that she has a unique ability after she has a near death experience. Tori and Wade find that they have more of a connection than they expected. The truth about Wade’s family has a lot of twists and turns and when revealed to Wade, he will have to come to terms with his decision to leave years ago and how things have changed. I love how Ms. Porter showed that Wade was settled, mature, and a man that could be trusted and counted on. His two buddies that he was trying to help are so different and really needed to get a clue. The book was entertaining, and the pages turned quickly through this book. I had a hard time putting it down. I give this story a 5-star review and recommend it to readers that enjoy, paranormal, military, action, and stories with strong characters.

Review of Rise Again Warrior (Mission: Believe) by Stacy Eaton

Dr. Lauren Falcone works with military men and women that are struggling with life after returning home from their tours of duty to our country. She is a kind, gentle soul that has her own scars to bear and deal with. She’s struggled with leaving her home and being in crowds and has adjusted her career to be able to help others that struggle with these kinds of things. Since she meets with her clients remotely, she’s able to do her work wherever she is.

Staff Sgt. Shane Logan is recovering from an IED blast that took out his team fifteen months ago while returning from a raid. Not many from his team made it out of that ambush, he did, but with both physical and mental scars to show for it. He is dealing with his own issues as well as the issues of people who encounter him and don’t know how to act or what to say, so they stare at him and give him a wide birth or they look at him with pity, neither makes him feel any better about himself. With the confidence he gains, he shares his dream with his father about a new project he wants to bring to life, and his father uses this opportunity to get what he wants in return.

The story of two people who have lived through tragedy, but in different ways. They both suffer from survivors’ guilt and their struggles are real with their pain, mental anguish, and fears of what they have been through and their struggles to move on and find a new normal, a new life, and a reason to continue to live. These two need each other to find their way towards a life they can live rather than just move through the motions. They both have a lot to overcome and find it in themselves to reach for what they want and hold onto it.

This story is tragic, heartfelt, inspiring, and one of my favorite reads this year. It touched me in so many ways. It is so realistic and emotional, and written with a beautiful touch. Shane’s need for approval shows so much vulnerability and is so realistic. He needs that validation to help find himself again and Lauren gives him that and so much more. I give this story a 5-star review, if I could give it more, I would. I look forward to reading more of the Rise Again Warrior books in the near future. I love the characters and the plot of this story. It was beautifully written. This was my first read of Stacy Eaton, but it won’t be my last. I look forward to finding more books written by her and continuing the series of the Rise Again Warrior books.

Maverick is a senior who rules the high school that Cocoa will attend for her senior year. His father is a well-respected judge in their small town. Little do the towns people know his real father. The man is pure evil and has made Maverick’s life a living hell. He doesn’t know the meaning of love or kindness. His two best friends are the only people who know what Maverick’s life has been like and the real father that has raised him.

The first few chapters were hard for me to get through. I’m not a fan of bullies but as I got through the chapters the story got better for me. I am a fan of dark romance books though and this book has that as well. Once I got into the book it was easier to read and I liked it. I found the change in Maverick to be refreshing and the fact that he got away from his hometown to find the better man that he could be was good. If you like young adult romance, bully, or dark romance, you should pick up this book. I give it a 3.5-star review.

This is my first blog post ever.

I’m an avid reader of romance and I wanted to share my thoughts on the books that I read as well as the writers who write them. My Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐4 out of 5

I’m not usually one to read romantasy stories, however, this book caught my eye and I’m glad it did. I really enjoyed the story, imagination of the author writing it and the characters.

The characters are well written and well developed. I loved Mara and her strength, her determination, and the kindness in her. She had a hard life, but she didn’t let it sour her or make her a mean person, she just decided to make her life what she could and do her best to be a kind human.

Her story was interesting to read and I am looking forward to the next book in this series. I hope her life continues to improve and her strength continues to grow and develop into the person she’s meant to be.

Another great story in the Satan’s Fury MC series. It has family drama, betrayal, secrets, and a found family that is always at your back.

This book was a page turner with a story that kept my interest from the very beginning. Goose and Presley have known each other since high school, but have never been friends. When Presley’s younger sister finds herself in trouble again, Presley is there to rescue her and keep her safe, but the sacrifice she has to make could be too large of a price.

I love the Satan’s Fury MC series and Goose is a great story that pulled me in from the beginning right through to the end. It was a hard read to put down and I can’t wait for more in the series.

MY REVIEW: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 out of 5

This was a really good read. The story pulled me in from the start and held me until the end. It’s emotional, twisted, and a really good read. I have enjoyed The Royal Harlots MC books I’ve read so far and this book was no different. The women are tough, strong, independent, and just as dangerous as the men that they ride with. They aren’t afraid to stand up for those that need their help, and they don’t shy away from the danger that comes along with being in an MC.

Blaze has a lot to take in and process, it’s not easy and she finds herself in trouble by running her mouth and being stubborn, but when she finally see’s that she is strong and the people around her have her back she finds that peace she’s been looking for.

I enjoyed this story and give it 4 stars, I look forward to more of the RHMC and the RBMC from Thetta James.

My Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 out of 5

Pyro and Carina try to resist the bond, but it’s no use. Neither one are looking for their mate. One has been told from a young age that there was no mate for them and the other has trauma from when they bragged about their mate at a young age. Now they’re thrown together after a tragedy and Pyro can no longer avoid or resist his mate. One he’s committed, there’s no going back for him.

When danger comes knocking Pyro will do what is needed to protect Carina and keep her safe. Even returning home and facing his parents. Danger is lurking and the club will stand behind them both and help to protect them.

I love the characters in this series and the stories are great! Full of danger, action, Alpha protectors, and wonderfully, strong, independent women that keep their men on their toes. I love it and I can’t wait to read more.
