Unafraid: Amber Ridge Series, Book 1 – 5 ⭐’s for Nyssa Kathryn’s new book!

My Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 out of 5

A great start to a new series with great characters.

I loved this story and the characters. I love how Nyssa Kathryn brings her characters along with her and interconnects her series. I started with her Project Arma books and have continued on with her books since then. Everyone has a unique story and with the great characters that she’s created for her worlds.

Aspen and Jesse’s story is a great addition to Nyssa’s books. They are likeable characters that have you hoping for them to work through the tragedy that Aspen has been through and find their way to open up and have that HEA they both want and are looking for. Aspen has to find the strength to realize that she trusts Jesse and he’s not her ex.

I look forward to more in this series to come as well as more books from Nyssa Kathryn in the future.

A seven-foot mountain of muscle and bone in a pair of motorcycle boots and a leather cut.

Cursed with demons and darkness and secrets that run deep.

To the people of St. Bon, I am a monster.

To my club brothers, I am a fearless leader.

My Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 out of 5

I loved Penny Dee’s King’s Of Mayhem and De Kysa Mafia books. This new MC book Beast was just as intriguing, action packed, and suspenseful as the other books I’ve read by her.

Beast has many secrets and there some twists in this story that will surprise you. The characters were great, and the story sucked me in and held on to the very end. It was a great story and I loved Belle’s character. She seems to be a quiet unsuspecting characters, but her true nature shows through and she’s the perfect person for Beast. I can’t wait to read more of the MC Fables books to come. I’d love to read more stories of the characters introduced in this book.

I did wish that there was more of a clear idea of where this story takes place. I know the town is mentioned, but what country is it in? Overall it was a great read and I can’t wait to read more by Penny Dee.

Review of Baja – Fallen Ravens MC, Book 3 by Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez

My Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 out of 5

Baja is a man that has lived his life in the MC doing his job as needed, until he meets Alice, then his life seems to have more meaning. Now he just needs to break down the walls surrounding her heart and let her see that not all men are bad or want to hurt her. When her past comes knocking Baja will prove to her that she’s worth the fight and show her that he wants her and no one else.

This was a good story. I’ve enjoyed reading the Fallen Ravens MC stories and Baja and Alice’s story is just as good. It’s a tough read in some spots, but well worth the read. Baja is a man that is patient and knows what he wants, and that’s Alice, he just needs to get her to realize that her past is just that, her past.

I look forward to more of these great characters and stories in the Fallen Raven MC.

I refuse to let others in on my problems. Their mine and mine alone. Unfortunately for me there’s one man who refuses to let me be. He wants to know the truth. Says I need to trust him.
When my past catches up to me, I have to make a choice. Trust those who’ve taken me in or run. Running is what I’m good at. Trust, that’s something I’m not.
One way or another destruction is going to happen. Good or bad, we’ll see just what happens.

My Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 out of 5

A life of looking over your shoulder is not any way to live, especially when you have a daughter to consider in that life and how she perceives your life. Alanna didn’t have a childhood of fun, loving parents, happy households, or safety and security, but she’s determined to show her daughter Charlotte, some of that while keeping alert to who is around her and what they may want from her. However, the Devil’s Riot MC is always a safe haven for Alanna and Charlotte, and when Cy decides to finally step up and show Alanna that he’s been patient long enough, her life will change for the better.

Cy has been patiently waiting to show Alanna that he’s the man for her and her little girl to show them a life of happiness, safety and security. However, even now he will have to work hard to gain her trust and show her that he means what he says. When Alanna’s past catches up and deception is uncovered, as well as danger coming for her, Cy will do anything to save her, protect her and show her that he will always be there to protect her.

I loved this book in the Devil’s Riot MC series and look forward to more in the series. I love the characters and the strong, independent women that bring these men down a peg or two when they finally give in to their hearts.

My Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 out of 5

Someone messed up! They targeted the wrong woman and now they’ll suffer the consequences.

Nastya Semyonov runs her own business and she’s happy. She works from home and gets a lot of merchandise for free. When she gets an unexpected package her life will be turned upside down in more ways than one.

Haze isn’t as happy in his job as he once was, now that he’s older and has worked as a detective for so long and watched the legal system let people down multiple times, he’s disillusioned on his job. However, his job also leads him to a sexy little thing that will turn his world upside down and she’s ready to keep him on his toes. He just has to make sure that he doesn’t cross her family, or that those looking to take her from him succeed.

I love Lani Lynn Vale’s books! She incorporates characters from series that she’s branched off of and her characters are always fun to read and get to know. I love how she writes her books, comes up with the witty statements at the beginning of each chapter and how her stories evolve. She’s definitely a one-click author for me whenever she has a new book or series. I can’t wait for the next book to come out!

Blog Tour – THE WORKSHOP (Detective Jason Smith Thriller, Book #31) by Stewart Giles; I give 5⭐’s @stewartgiles

THE WORKSHOP (Detective Jason Smith #31) by Stewart Giles

From bestselling author: Stewart Giles comes another brilliant addition to the Detective Jason Smith.

Extensive research has shown that, just like stolen cars that are chopped up and sold in pieces, the human body is worth considerably less than the sum of its parts.

Detective Sergeant Smith is about to be thrown headfirst into the stuff of nightmares.
When the body of a woman is discovered in a field, nobody on the team has seen anything like it. Her head has been removed, as have her arms and legs. Later, at the autopsy Smith learns that most of her vital organs are also missing.

The condition of the second body is even more disturbing and Smith starts to wonder if there’s a monster on the loose.

Meanwhile, an urban legend is spreading like wildfire. The rumour mill is talking of a workshop somewhere in the city – a place where human bodies are sent to be chopped up and distributed all around the world.

Smith soon learns that sometimes urban legends are based on reality, and this is one of those times. As the body count rises, Smith and his team find themselves completely out of their depth. The workshop needs to be shut down, but they have no idea where it is.

Will this be a case that Smith is unable to solve?

What readers are saying about THE WORKSHOP:

The author has well and truly done his homework, its all spot on this subject as you turn the pages. t’s once again another unputdownable read, that readers will love. – Booklover Bev

The story flows well and pulls you right in. The characters gel seamlessly and there is humour in their interaction. This offsets the darkness to a certain extent. The ruthlessness and depravity of those involved is clear, and all for money. I am always glued to these books and have to keep reading. This one was no exception. – Maureen.

The camaraderie between the characters is wonderful and I love Jason’s way of saying things exactly how they are, very little filter if any, but with a heart of gold and determination to see justice done. My only complaint is that I get through these too quickly as they are so compelling. A brilliantly clever, engrossing read. Five big stars. – Misfits Farm.

This makes an interesting and shocking plot. A modern slant on a Gothic theme. I liked the attention to historical facts which added to the authenticity. Entertaining, gripping, engaging and surprising – all the elements of a five star read. Highly recommended. – Carol

Stewart Giles – Author Bio

After reading English at 3 Universities and graduating from none of them, I set off travelling around the world with my wife, Ann, finally settling in South Africa, where we still live.

In 2014 Ann dropped a rather large speaker on my head and I came up with the idea for a detective series. DS Jason Smith was born. Smith, the first in the series was finished a few months later.

3 years and 8 DS Smith books later, Joffe Books wondered if I would be interested in working with them. As a self-published author, I agreed. However, we decided on a new series – the DC Harriet Taylor: Cornwall series.

The Beekeeper was published and soon hit the number one spot in Australia. The second in the series, The Perfect Murder did just as well.

I continued to self-publish the Smith series and Unworthy hit the shelves in 2018 with amazing results.  I therefore made the decision to self-publish The Backpacker which is book 3 in the Detective Harriet Taylor series which was published in July 2018.

After The Backpacker I had an idea for a totally new start to a series – a collaboration between the Smith and Harriet thrillers and The Enigma was born. It brought together the broody, enigmatic Jason Smith and the more level-headed Harriet Taylor.

The Miranda trilogy is something totally different. A psychological thriller trilogy. It is a real departure from anything else I’ve written before.

The Detective Jason Smith series continues to grow. I also have another series featuring an Irish detective who relocated to Guernsey, the Detective Liam O’Reilly series. There are also 3 stand alone novels.

My Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 out of 5

Wow! The DS Jason Smith Thrillers are dark, and deep, but this one was really dark and a bit unsettling. To think it’s 2025 and things like this could be happening in the world, Yes, I know this is fiction, but if we really think about it, a lot of these stories could be real.

DS Jason Smith and his team are working tirelessly again to find the dregs of mankind to solve some disturbing cases. This story will take Jason and his partner to Spain, and what they find there is deception, but also some truths.

I love the DS Jason Smith stories and even though this particular story was unsettling and a bit macabre, it was still a great story and addition to the series. DS Smith and the other detectives work well together and they work hard to solve their cases. I love the characters, the snarkiness of DS Smith, and his dedication to his job and his family. I look forward to the next book by Stewart Giles in this series.

The Sage Ridge Series by Devin Sloane – 4 ⭐’s

My Review:⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 out of 5

A Lifetime of Afters:

Tragedy struck and everyone seemed to fall apart and go their own ways. For two families that were so close for so long, two losses were too much to continue their happy lives. It took ten years for these families to heal and come back together as they once were, maybe not as full or whole, but at least they’re a family again.

This story was so heartbreaking, healing, and beautiful. I cried and I laughed, but mostly I loved these characters and the story of Hawkley and Noelle’s love and reunion. These families had a wonderful, enjoyable life until things fell apart.

This was my first book to read by Devin Sloane, but I liked her writing and her older characters. This isn’t fully about young love, but a lifetime love and it’s a beautiful, tragic story.

Every Bit as Perfect:

Tragedy struck and everyone seemed to fall apart and go their own ways. For two families that were so close for so long, two losses were too much to continue their happy lives. It took ten years for these families to heal and come back together as they once were, maybe not as full or whole, but at least they’re a family again.

Harley holds so much in from the tragedy that struck her family two people that meant the world to her are gone and she feels as if she’s always been second best, but when she has the opportunity to find someone that puts her first she has a hard time believing that he’s sincere. She’s been second best for so long and put down from her ex that her self esteem and confidence are in the cellar. When Daire shows his interest in Harley she believes that he’s out of her league, but Daire is determined to show her that she’s his first choice.

I enjoyed this story of how Daire pulled Harley’s strengths out and showed her that she’s just as special as the rest of her family and that she’s strong, and can do anything. He gave her the strength, confidence and respect that she’s been lacking.

No Sweeter Madness:

Proof that second chances are worth waiting for and the risk that we take to make our lives what we want of them.

Max and Wren were young, they had their whole lives ahead of them. When Max broke up with Wren she went into a tailspin and made choices that would change her life. However, she could never wish that choice away since it gave her something special.

Max has waited for so long to get the one woman back that he’s always loved. He may have been the one to break up with her, but once he figured out that she’s was the only woman for him, he couldn’t settle. When their lives start to settle a bit, they find their way back to each other only to have things turn upside down for them. Are they strong enough to weather the storms that hit them?

Another great story in the Sage Ridge series. Great characters and entertaining story. I enjoyed the full series and would love to have stories with Bridge and Shea and hopefully their HEA’s.

It’s time for another Saint’s Outlaws new release! Cathleen Cole and Frank Jensen’s Phoenix Chapter, Kilo’s Edge is now live! I give it 4⭐’s

Blurb:

Some secrets are meant to be kept, but love has a way of revealing them all…

Camila

I’ve spent four years running, hiding, and surviving.

When my family finds refuge in Phoenix, I tell myself not to get attached.

But Kilo—the rugged biker next door—makes me dream of staying put.

How can I build a future when my past won’t stop hunting me?

Kilo

As a military vet turned motorcycle club Sergeant at Arms, I’ve seen my share of darkness.

When Camila moves in next door, something about her calls to my soul.

She’s beautiful, guarded, and carrying secrets that could get her killed.

Now that she’s in my world, no force on Earth will stop me from protecting her.

As the threat from her past creeps closer, Camila finds herself drawn into the protective fold of the MC brotherhood.

But can a woman who’s spent years running learn to stand and fight?

And can a man sworn to protect his club risk everything for love?

When trust means survival and secrets can be deadly, they’ll have to decide if they can overcome all the odds and stay together…

My Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 out of 5

Kilo is a military vet and the SAA of the Saint’s Outlaws MC in Phoenix. His new neighbor has caught his eye and he’s been trying to find a way to introduce himself. He finally finds his way and when he meets her and talks to her he’s even more intrigued by her. He will have obstacles of course, but he’s determined to get to know the shy woman and see if there’s something between them.

She’s quiet and keeps to herself, she’s had too much happen in her life to not be cautious. Sure she noticed the sexy neighbor, but her life is not conducive to making friends or relationships and she’s always on her guard. However, when Kilo pushes his way into Camila’s life, she finds that she has a hard time keeping him at a distance and his club brothers are just and kind and protective as her sexy neighbor.

I was so excited for the Saint’s Outlaws MC world to come out and after reading a few of the prequals and Gunner’s Mercy, as well as Kilo’s Edge, I am hooked. I can’t wait to read more in this world and meet the authors, characters, and different chapters to come. My only wish was that there was little more interconnection with the other Saint’s Outlaws MC chapters.

My 5⭐ Review for Relentless Knight – Dangerous Gambit book 2 by Lisa Cullen

Relentless Knight (Dangerous Gambit)Relentless Knight by Lisa Cullen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

She’s off limits, the sister of his best friend, boss, and foster brother, but when he finally looks at her and see’s her, he can’t seem to stay away.

I loved this story and the danger that lurks on every page of this story was suspenseful, action packed, and dangerous. The characters are strong, independent, and likeable. I wasn’t sure which danger would rear it’s ugly head first, but I couldn’t wait to find out.

I look forward to more books by Lisa Cullen in the future and I hope that there will be more in the Dangerous Gambit series to come. I have questions.

🔥 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭 ☞ Mensa’s Match (Riot MC Biloxi) by Karen Renee is 𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄 @karenreneewrite

Title: Mensa’s Match
Series: Riot MC Biloxi Book Nine
Author: Karen Renee
Genre: MC Romance
Tropes: Opposites Attract; Found Family; He Falls First; One Bed
Release Date: January 14, 2025

Kenneth “Mensa” Ragstone has street-smarts in spades. As a member of the Riot MC, he’s survived by trusting his gut—and it’s screaming that Whitney Blume spells trouble. From the moment their paths cross, she sets him on edge. The more determined he is to avoid her, the more he runs into her. That’s a red flag Mensa won’t ignore. His Riot MC brothers say he’s overreacting—she’s just a new woman in town. But Mensa earned his road name by trusting his intuition.
She’s everything he doesn’t want in a woman. So why can’t he stop thinking about her?

Whitney Blume isn’t looking for trouble—or bikers. She has a type good guys, clean-cut, funny, and friendly. Everything Mensa isn’t. After a career-ending betrayal, the former FBI agent is keeping a low profile and reconsidering her life. But staying out of trouble proves difficult when her sassy attitude and undeniable attraction to Mensa pull her closer to the world of Riot MC.

After an ambush at the Twisted Talons bar turns deadly, Mensa and Whitney barely escape. With the vice president of a rival MC hunting them, they take refuge in a roadside hotel. One room. One bed. And a lot of unresolved tension. Giving in is inevitable, but their one night of passion sparks something deeper—and deadlier.

They return only to find the rival MC is targeting Whitney, and Mensa will stop at nothing to protect her. When his woman is abducted, Mensa does whatever it takes to get her back, but will it be enough?

I shot Mensa a dry look. “Those bikers have better things to do than search for me.”

Both of them ignored me.

Aunt Nadia narrowed her eyes on Mensa. “How long are you Riot boys gonna let this go on? There was a time when this would have been dealt with and the dust would have settled.”

Mensa’s head dipped just a fraction. “That time is gone, Nadia. We went legit years ago now, and we’re going to keep it that way. Police investigations don’t move as swiftly as Brink did.”

The immediate change in Aunt Nadia’s demeanor made me brace. It only made Mensa grin.

“I ought to wipe that smirk right off your face, young man.”

Mensa shifted his gaze to me. “You didn’t tell her anything.”

My eyes widened. “Don’t you drag me into this. You dug your own hole, genius.”

Aunt Nadia glared at me. “What did he tell you?”

I pressed my lips together and debated the most diplomatic response. “It doesn’t matter, Aunt Nadia. It’s your story to tell, or not, and I’ll respect that either way.”

“Damn straight you will.”

I glowered at Mensa.

“Why are you mean-mugging me, Blume?”

“Because she’s pissed at me, when you’re the one who brought all this up in the first place.”

Aunt Nadia pointed a bony finger at Mensa. “Get her mess taken care of. She can’t be tip-toeing around town for months on end.”

“It’s been two weeks,” I muttered.

Aunt Nadia glared at me. “Three, young lady, or did the four days you spent in Jackson, slip your mind?”

I peeked over her shoulder and into her mug. Two-thirds of it held black coffee. “Drink your coffee, Aunt Nadia.” I lifted my eyes to Mensa’s. “And you need to learn – never mess with her before she’s had at least one cup of java.”

That earned me narrowed eyes from both of them.

“Did you print those labels Friday afternoon?” Aunt Nadia asked.

I smiled. “Yes, and they’re on the appropriate boxes already. I’ll go triple check the orders, and seal them up.”

Aunt Nadia nodded, then turned to Mensa. “You can go help her, so you’re both out of my hair. And no necking back there.”

I swallowed back my laughter, because I’d forgotten how ornery Aunt Nadia could be without her caffeine.

Karen Renee is the author of the Riot Motorcycle Club, Beta, and O-Town series of books. She once crunched Nielsen ratings data but these days she brings her imagination to life by writing books. She has wanted to be a writer since she was very young, but it’s taken the last twenty plus years for her to amass enough courage and overall life experience to bring that dream to life. Some of those life experiences came from the wonderful world of advertising, banking, and local television media research. She is a proud wife and mother, and a Jacksonville native. When she’s not at the soccer field or cooking, you can find her at her local library, the grocery store, in her car jamming out to some tunes, or hibernating while she writes and/or reads books.

HOSTED BY:

My Review:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 out of 5

Two unlikely people that shouldn’t work can’t seem to keep away from each other or stop thinking about the other. One night and a unsuspecting incident throws them together.

Whitney is still trying to figure out her future and what she is going to do since she handed in her resignation. Her heart and her head can’t seem to come together and help her decide if she should leave Biloxi or stay and run her aunt’s business.

Mensa wants the woman out of his life and out of his club’s business and the lives of those he loves. However, he can’t seem to decide why his thoughts always go to her, or why his protective instincts kick in when she’s around.

I love the Riot MC books and the different chapters. The characters are always fun to read and the stories are always entertaining and suspenseful. Mensa’s Match was no different. The chemistry between Mensa and Whitney is off the charts and these two make a great couple. I look forward to more of the Riot MC books to come.
