I woke up to my roommate and best friend missing. In her place was a note on my bedside table that read: You can only find me with your eyes closed. No one thinks a note like that is meant for them. I knew it was meant for me, a clue, a way to seek Justice. Whoever left me that note was hoping I didn’t let my parent’s legacy die when they did. They wanted to see what kind of warfare I was capable of. Justice before starting a war with the man who wrote the rule book…
I woke up every day to the same nonsensical bullshit that was my life. They say only bad things only happen after dark but I was the exception to every rule. I was bad and I happened whenever I wanted. I wanted someone to challenge me, put me in my place, force me to be better than war strategies and hold the audacity to traipse across enemy lines. A pink haired receptionist wasn’t my first choice for shaking my resolve. I can still smell her but I wanted to know if she’d taste like Victory. Death before dishonor meant not losing to her…

As Vice President of the Untamed Sons MC, my first loyalty is to my club and my president, that is until Lucy walks into my life. For her, I’m willing to give it all up. I’ll stand against my brothers, question my loyalty and even consider giving up my patch. Too bad everything I’m building isn’t real.
Lucy
Nox is falling for me, but he shouldn’t. I have secrets and if he knew the truth he’d drop me in a heartbeat. The problem is I’m falling for him too, but when my past comes out he’s going to hate me. Nothing is as it seems. My whole life is a lie. Everything except Nox.
Because the truth is Lucy Franklin doesn’t really exist.
*Warning : Contains adult content, reading age 18 +. Graphic violence and dark emotional scenes that may trigger some readers.
I jolt back, letting another tear fall as my world comes apart. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I was home, like I had family, people who cared. My lies destroyed that. I should have left straight away. I should have carried on running. I shouldn’t have let my guard down around a man as dangerous as Nox.
I did, though.
Why?
Because I wanted a slice of what Sasha had. I wanted people who cared about me, who would go to the edge of the world for me, who would stand up to my bullies.
I was stupid thinking that would happen. Unlike Sasha, I’m not part of their world. I’m here because of her, and that branch they held out to me has now been snapped.
“You fucking lied to me,” he growls, striding over to the bed and leaning on it so he can get in my face.
I flinch, swallowing down my fear, my sense of injustice. I didn’t want this life.
Jessica Ames lives in a small market town in the
Midlands, England. She lives with her dog and when she’s not writing,
she’s playing with crochet hooks.
Sophie lives with
her husband, two boys, and baby girl in the Rocky Mountain west. She writes
intense, intelligent romance, with heroines who are strong and capable, and men
who will do anything to capture their hearts.
She has a slight
obsession with hiking, bodybuilding, and live comedy shows. Her perfect
day would be taking the kids to Harry Potter World, going dancing with Mr.
Lark, then relaxing with a good book and a monster bag of salt and vinegar
chips.
Dante Gallo is the oldest of the Gallo children. He’s angry, protective, serious, focused, broody, and oh so sexy! He wasn’t always this way though. When he was younger, he was impulsive, reckless, and happy, but if you crossed him you saw the dangerous side of him. A woman changed him and for almost ten years he was the serious, protective, focused Gallo offspring. He was in love and would do anything to keep Simone Solomon, but fate had other ideas for these two, and Simone left Chicago and Dante. Her leaving crushed Dante and made him a changed man. To avoid the sadness and heartbreak he joined the service and left Chicago himself and his family to fight for his country. Now, with his family’s connection to the Irish mafia, he and his brother in-law Callum Griffin two very powerful men in Chicago.
Simone Solomon is young and the daughter of a very wealthy businessman that has her whole life planned out for her by her father. Her chance meeting with Dante changes everything for her. Her father is not happy about her relationship with Dante and goes to extremes to keep her away from him. Unfortunately, a fateful meeting on Dante’s part one night when he is going to meet Simone, scares her more than anything her father has told her and makes her choose a life away from Chicago. Little does she know that it will be the wrong decision and she is just as miserable as Dante because she left him. Another chance meeting will put her back in Dante’s sights and although they try to avoid one another while she is in Chicago, fate intervenes again.
I have loved Dante from the beginning of the Brutal Birthright stories and this story made me fall more in love with him. He is a brick house as a young man, but he is even more of one almost ten years later when Simone sees him again. We’ve never seen a vulnerable side like this to Dante, but Simone sure destroyed him and then she reconstructed him and his heart when she returned. Even though he tried his best to protect his heart and himself, he was no match for fate and her path for these two. The Gallo family has had their fair share of trouble, but this book has both the Gallo’s and the Griffin’s in danger. It was tragic, beautiful, heartbreaking and healing. Dante and Simone have a once in a lifetime love and there was no way they could avoid the collision both times they met. I give this story a 5-star review and am so looking forward to more of the Brutal Birthright series. Ms. Lark is a great storyteller and has a way of breaking your heart and healing you in one book. I highly recommend her books but will give you fair warning that you will need to be prepared for tears, laughs, and anger. She can bring all of these emotions out in one book as well. If you are a lover of mafia romance, Sophie Lark is a great author to go to.
Sometimes goodbye is more than just a second chance.
Sometimes it becomes your entire future.
Excerpt->
I grew up on the wrong side of the tracks and being stuck with a name like Whiskey was never easy, but none of that ever mattered much to me. Not until I met her. The kids used to call me white trash—WT for short, but I turned that nasty nickname into my fucking mantra after I joined the Air Force. My only regret was falling in with the wrong group of men. But, that’s how I met her and I wouldn’t trade what we had together for anything except maybe another chance.
He worked for my father and I was off-limits but no one told my heart that. He left me—left us on his last run to America and I know he’s not coming back. If he did, they would kill him—kill us both. I know what I have to do now but it won’t be easy. Whiskey deserves to know about his baby and I’ll be the one delivering the news to him—one way or another.
Sometimes goodbye is more than just a second chance. Sometimes it becomes your entire future.
Whiskey Tango is K.L. Ramsey’s second book in the Royal Bastards MC.
Whiskey O’Brien came from a Podunk town in Texas and his only way out was to join the service, so he did. He joined the Air Force at the age of eighteen and loved what he was doing. They taught him how to fly and showed him places he would have never seen otherwise. He also had a brotherhood, until one fateful ride on his motorcycle ended it all. He was lucky to be alive and to be able to walk out of the hospital, but he didn’t feel lucky because he lost his career, a career he loved. Now he takes jobs doing whatever he can to make ends meet and keep a roof over his head and food in his stomach, unfortunately for him, one of those jobs finds him flying for a Cartel Boss in Mexico. Now he needs to find a way to get out and change his life.
Luciana Diaz is the daughter of one of the most notorious Cartel Bosses in Mexico and her father has promised her to the son of another notorious Cartel Boss for marriage to bring the families together and end the war between them. The only problem is that the son doesn’t want Luciana and she doesn’t want him. She decides to become defiant and choose who she gives her virginity to, and that just so happens to be the American pilot that works for her father, Whiskey. He is happy to sneak into her bedroom and is not looking for anything serious, but fate has other plans for these two.
I have loved all of the RBMC books that I have read, and Whiskey Tango is no exception. I love the Huntsville, AL chapter. The characters in all of these books are great. I love to read about the danger and situations that these men and their women find themselves in. They are dangers, sexy, and loyal to the brotherhood. No man or woman left behind is not just a saying to them, it’s their moto and their way of life. They are always there for each other and will stop at nothing to make sure that their family is safe and protected. The Huntsville chapter has had their fair share of deadly and dangerous situations, but this story is a bit different, they MC is not in danger, but one of their brothers and his woman is. The fact that he is not even patched in yet does not mean anything, he and his woman need help and protection and these men will step up and be there for Whiskey and Luciana. Whiskey is hiding some information from his brothers, but even when he comes clean, they still stand behind him and will fight to protect him and Luci. I loved this story and can’t wait for the next RBMC book or the spin off from Whiskey Tango, Don’t Mess With Texas (Lone Star Rangers MC Book 1), or Dirty Ryder (Savage Hell MC Book 3). I love K.L. Ramsey’s stories and love it when I get my hands on her books.
After a decade spent claiming a throne for himself in the seething violence of the criminal underbelly, all Donatello Vanici craves now is peace.

Mice and Men is a new standalone series in the War of Roses Universe.
Cold, his eyes rake over me. From my scalp, down to my heaving chest. His jaw twitches, his breathing audibly unsteady. Heavy. Rasping.
“You can’t be her…” To prove it, he brushes the thumb of his free hand down the length of my cheek. Did he ever stop to picture how his little _____ might look seven years after his betrayal? Did he imagine some weak, broken, mournful creature?
Anyone but me. I am not broken, holding his gaze even as tears blur my vision. I am not some sniffling little victim.
AUTHOR BIO
Lana Sky is a quirky writer from the US who dabbles in dark,
paranormal and contemporary romance. Her stories aren’t always typical, but
contain a little something for everyone.
He was once known as Il Mostro, The Butcher among others, but he’s changed, and he lives his life on the straighter path now. He was once the head of the famiglia, but that didn’t protect him or his family and the day he lost them is the day his life changed forever. He lost everything that day and the days after were pure torture. Donatello Vanici had it all and lost it all. Now his life is making sure that his nephew Vincenzo finishes medical school and has a good life. The only problem is that he could lose Vincenzo too, and it would be the last straw for Donatello.
She wasn’t wanted by her parents. She survived an illness, but it left her mute and her parents saw her as damaged and a pawn. The day that she was taken to Donatello’s house and left was the day her life started to look up, but that changed after Donatello lost his family. He needed to hurt, so he decided to hurt Safiya by selling her at the age of 12. She only tasted a loving house and family for a short time until she was rescued by the Pakhan, Mescha Stepanov and once again her life has taken a turn for the better. The only problem is that Safiya is having a hard time accepting that it will last. The only way she can move on and accept her life with the Stepanov’s is to see the past dead and buried. She has changed her name, but her past won’t let her go. She is no longer Safiya Mangenello, she is now Willow Stepanova.
This story was dark, twisted, and brutal. Donatello was a man in charge until he lost everything and became a broken man that just wanted to live his life and protect his nephew. When he and Vin go a debutante ball for Willow Stepanova, Don finds his world crashing down on him once again and he could lose everything this time, including his mind. His fall won’t be of his own making in the end, but he will get vengeance on the man that has ruined so much of his life. This story ends on a cliff hanger and is full of action, twisted scenes, page turning suspense and great characters. I give this story a 5-star review and am anxious for Queen of Thorns to come out.
Of all the Bellandi men, Lorenzo Vescovi should have been my safety. The one who would understand right from wrong.
But there’s a demon inside him, a cold-blooded killing machine begging to be freed from what remains of his humanity.
I tempt him. I tease him, just by being me.
And when war erupts all around us, I have to hope I’m strong enough to withstand the flames of his possession.
Enzo
Of all the women in the world, Sadie is the one I should stay the farthest away from. The one my boss forbids me from touching.
But one look at her honey eyes, and I’m lost to the need to make her mine.
She’s a mess of contradictions and full of jagged edges that threaten to pull me apart at the seams and unleash the beast lurking within.
I can’t resist her rebellions. But when she’s threatened by my enemies, I’ll risk everything to keep her safe.
Even my humanity.
Shielded Wrongs is a full-length standalone novel with an HEA, but the series presents a better reading experience when following the suggested reading order.
This series contains dark elements, including an over-the-top antihero who does as he pleases. Please read at your own discretion.
With outstretched arms, he grabbed the top rope around the ring and tugged it down as he stared at me. A predatory grin played at the sharp curve of his lips, an overwhelming tease in and of itself.
Those lips were made for sinning.
Resisting the urge to move, I refused to let him see me squirm. He hadn’t so much as touched me, but he seared my skin with his brand and imprinted himself on my soul with nothing but a look. “You want me to put my hands on you, Baby Girl?” he asked. “I can think of far more interesting ways to entertain you.”
I swallowed, shaking off the fog of lust threatening to make me jump his bones.
Well, bone.
“This is the only thing I’m interested in,” I said.
“Little Liar,” he chuckled, shaking his head. The look on his face held zero trace of the annoyance most men would have felt if they thought I was playing hard to get. Instead, my resistance only seemed to spur Enzo on and make him more determined to watch me unravel. Something lurked behind his eyes, a demon simmering below the surface even though his face and words seemed otherwise amused.
I had the distinct impression I was treading water in the deep end and too naïve to realize a current threatened to pull me under.
“Don’t be a douchebag,” I laughed. “We both know sex would be a blast, but it isn’t going to happen. So put on your big boy pants, jump up here, and show me what you’ve got, Enzo.”
He complied, pulling himself into the ring with a masculine grace that should have been impossible for a man his size. Enzo moved like an assassin in the night, fluid and silent until he wanted his victim to feel that single moment of pure terror before it all ended. Bellandi men were psychotic, often enjoying the thrill and fear they instilled in their victims before they struck.
But Enzo was his own brand of crazy. Determined to win, with zero interest in anything but getting the job done, he didn’t do it for joy.
He did it because it was his duty, and I had a feeling he was a killing machine beneath the careful facade he created to hide what lurked inside him.
Adelaide fell in love with books at a young age and quickly discovered her love for writing soon after. Since then, she’s become a self-professed plot hoarder of over 300 book concepts.
After receiving her degree in Psychology, Adelaide went on to work in a therapeutic riding facility. When her daughter was born, Adelaide traded out her boots to be a stay-at-home mom. In 2019, she added author to those job duties after a lifetime of dreaming about it.
She lives in New York with her husband, two children, and their dog and cat who all make up the center of her world.
Lorenzo “Enzo” Vescovi works for and is part of the Bellandi Crime family. He needed somewhere to work that let him be himself and not have to worry about the PTSD that he has from his time serving his country. His time in the service helps him with his job as head of security for the family. He looks to be a healthy, normal man on the outside, but on the inside, he fights his own battles. He worries about the safety and security of the entire family all the time and he worries that he is missing something while they are at war with the a faction of the Irish Mob.
Sadie has three brothers. She runs her father’s gym since he has retired and has feelings of insecurity when it comes to her father and they gym, but her brothers wanted nothing to do with running it and she loves it. She hides her true self from everyone she loves, with the exception of her best friend Ivory, but they never talk about her issues. She’s tough, strong, and scared. When she finds herself in a dangerous situation, she doesn’t want anyone to protect her because she can take care of herself, but Matteo Bellandi won’t leave her to defend herself. Matteo is the head of the Bellandi family and the husband of Sadie’s best friend Ivory, so when Ivory made him promise to protect Sadie, he knows that he can’t accept Sadie’s argument that she can take care of herself.
This was a great story of two people that feel that they will never find anyone to accept them, flaws and all, but when they find each other Enzo has to convince Sadie that he is in it for the long haul. Sadie has never had a relationship where the guy has stayed around once he gets to know the real Sadie and sees her idiosyncrasies. She doesn’t believe that Enzo will stay around either. I loved the subject matter of Sadie’s issues and Enzo’s PTSD and the way that the story covered both and did such a great job. Reading the Bellandi Crime Syndicate is my first exposure to Adelaide Forrest, and I have to say that I am in love with her stories and cannot wait to read more. Scar’s story looks to be just as deep and intriguing as Enzo’s was. I give this story a 5-star review and look forward to more of the Bellandi Crime Syndicate.

About Monique Growing up in New York City, I used to walk the hot pavements in the melting heat of the long summers, and dream. Uptown to downtown, eastside to the westside, and underground to catch a subway racing out into the boroughs.
During my wanderings, my magic pencil spun out fantasies full of romance, with first meetings, heartbreaks, and reunions. Sometimes my boy crush (unrequited, of course) starred as the hero.
I grew up, and after a stint in art school, became a lawyer ‘cuz a woman’s got to make a living. I came from parents who fled to France as refugees, and as an attorney, I dedicated my work to helping survivors of trauma and persecution.
I believe in them. In their grit, in their determination to hold on, to pull through and, somehow, someway, to keep themselves intact, body and soul. Perhaps that is why I am drawn to writing stories of men and women who live through heart-rending pain, desperate yearnings and, ultimately, reach a place of redemption.
For a long time, I fought the urge to veer off the expected, safe path until I couldn’t go on unless I took a chance and made a change. I began to write, stopped, and began again. Finally, I gave in and here I am.
I read lots of books, from mythology retellings to literary fiction and I love to reread books from childhood, this is a place to voice my thoughts for fun. I also like to ramble about things such as art or nature every now and again.
