I love Ava and Nazzareno’s story. It was more than I expected and a great story.
Nazzareno Fausti is the oldest son of the youngest Fausti brother, Lothario Fausti. Lothario has taken the lead of the family while Luca in is prison. This story tells of Lothario’s betrayal to his father and oldest brother as well as Ava and Nazzareno’s paths and how they crossed. Nazzareno is happy with his life of being a pilot, but the family has other plans for him. His life will take a complete turn after he lays eyes on Ava Gerardi, aka Pepper North.
Ava Gerardi is a woman possessed with the Fausti family. A reporter for Vice City Times, she is always looking for more about the Fausti family and ways that she can meet one member, if not the whole family. Her possessiveness, or obsession, whichever way you want to look at it, could be her downfall or the end of her life, but with other factors coming in, it could be the best thing to happen to her.
I loved the characters and the story. It was dark, deep, dangerous, and I loved that Luca was such a different person that had his own manipulations going on in the book. I can’t wait for more is this series or from Bella Di Corte in general. I love her books and her characters

Another new to me author that’s made a great impression! Linc: The Black Roses MC, Book #1 is a great start to a new series, but also a great introduction to a new to me author.
This story was gritty, twisted and surprising. It starts out with a chance meeting in a run down diner with a waitress that’s withdrawn, quiet, and hiding things. Two MC brothers from The Black Roses MC that happened upon the diner on their way home from a run and then one of those brothers finding the waitress walking along the dark, rainy road at night. He stops to pick her up and helps her out only to be left by her to deal with the aftermath on his own.
Five years later and another chance meeting has these two back together and fighting the past with the MC behind Linc and a couple of sassy women that are in need of help, again.
I loved this story and the characters. The best friend is a great surprise and a wonderful character that left me wanting so much more of her story. Charlie is a woman that is on the run and needs saving, although to hear her talk, she can take care of herself, but when there is a crazy man after her that no one can keep a handle on, she may need to turn to Linc again for saving and protection. I can’t wait to read more of The Black Roses MC and the wonderful characters within the books. I will also be looking for more of Kate Randall’s books to read in my future. So glad I pick this book up.

Either way, itโs not Flynn who comes down anymore. Instead, two other soldiers alternate, and they barely glance at me, and they donโt speak to me other than to command me up the stairs and position a gun at my back as they walk me to a bathroom in the main hall, which makes me wonder why Flynnโs always brought me to his from the very first instance.
Iโve asked about Flynnโs whereabouts, but they pretend not to hear me. This is a daily activity now.
Other than during their visits, the basementโs lights are kept off, but thankfully, I never return to that dark place I went to the last time I was alone for an extended length of time.
In the silence, my mind travels a lot. It relives everything Dad ever did to me. His malicious means of training me for this. His cruel ways of raising me to be his soldier rather than his daughter.
โFight him.โ Dad flicks his fingers to one of the soldiers heโs brought to the training room. A mountain-sized man with biceps as wide as my head, height that towers two feet above me, and a menacing snarl that says heโd eat me for breakfast if given the chance.
โYouโre kidding me?โ I look from Dad to the solider and back. At twenty-four, this isnโt the first soldier heโs had me train against, but no one like this. โIโll lose. More so, heโll break me.โ
โAttack,โ Dad commands. โBefore he does.โ
I didnโt move for almost a week afterwards. His soldier took me down in less than a minute, bruising my back.
He never taught me enough to fight back against him. Or, somehow I was hardwired unable to do so. Maybe because I was already in the monsterโs web, and his training never exactly got me into the fighting shape it should have.
The single time I tried to block his incoming hit, I paid for the act of defiance.
The basement door opens and shuts again, taking me from the latest trip through my hellish memories. It feels like itโs only been an hour since they brought me to the bathroom so I canโt help but be dismayed that Iโve clearly lost an entire night. Time is slipping faster and faster away. Not sure if thatโs positive or notโฆThrough the darkness, Iโm able to make out the shape of who comes down and itโs not either of the men. Itโs also not someone new. I know his figure as well as I know my own.
He doesnโt approach, so I donโt move from the sleeping bag Iโve dragged to the centre of the room. Being unchained means having access to these luxuries he once teased me with.
I wait for him to speak, counting sixty seconds, and wonder if heโs also waiting for me to begin. Uncomfortable silence, is it?
Eventually, he sits right at the base of the stairs, his back against the far wall so heโs facing me. His legs stretch out in front of him, crossing at the ankles. Thatโs all Iโm able to make out though, and I wish heโd turn on the light so I can see his face. A long sigh follows, signaling the break in silence.
