Closing my eyes, I stand still and concentrate. My breathing, my heartrate. I totally tune in to my body and my surroundings. The sounds of the night. The feel of my pulse, the rush of adrenaline. In the opposite direction, the street she ran down heads into a cluster of well-lit condos. The houses provide more cover, so I choose a strategic spot and crouch, my muscles coiled like a predator ready to strike. I wait, my heart pounding in anticipation as I plot my next move.

A sound catches my attention, and I go completely still.

There. Across the street.

A flash of white. A rabbit mask.

She’s fucking good. She sticks mainly to the shadows and her shoes are off, rendering her silent. Rabbit moves like a hunter in prey clothing, and it fucking excites me. I’m hard as I try to focus on her in the dark.

A cat yowls and dashes out and across the street.

She doesn’t make a sound.

But she’s there, edging forward.

I can just make her out now. She’s heading to where she can see the car.

I don’t follow yet.

Rabbit slips through a gate and into someone’s property. There aren’t any lights on, just the one from the porch, but she’s not heading up there. She’s making her way across the grounds, keeping close to the fence.

Clever little rabbit.

I follow, moving fast and silently. I skirt up and around and come down behind her as she reaches a gate. She stops and frantically looks around. Can’t see the wolf, can you, baby? She senses me, though, and shoots off running to the right.

I walk to where she just stood and inhale. I can smell her perfume. Her fear. It’s sweet, but her excitement is even sweeter.

I let out an almost maniacal laugh, my heart pounding, and I give chase.

The sound of my feet hitting the ground echoes through the night, spurring Rabbit on even more. She runs with a grace and speed that is truly magnificent. But there’s no way she can outrun me.

I can hear her breathing, feel her fear, her excitement. It fuels me, thrills me.

I’m getting closer now, closing in on her with every passing second. I could end this game right now if I wanted to, but I don’t. I want to keep playing, to keep her guessing. I want her to feel that rush of exhilaration, that sensation of being alive.

“Come on, Rabbit,” I call after her. “Give me everything you’ve got.”

She stumbles and falls forward onto the grass, and I take that as my cue to pounce. She tries to get up, but I grab her waist and pull. Without a word, I slap my hand over her mouth and pull her against me. She struggles, but her heart thumps hard and her ass comes in against my cock. It’s electric. Pure fucking sex.

“Got you, Rabbit. Punishment time. On your fucking knees.” I don’t give her a chance to do anything but obey as I tangle my hand in her hair and push her to her knees.

She could use her word.

Of course, she fucking doesn’t.

Maybe I should push her a little more.

I pull the gun from my back, and her eyes behind the hot as fuck bunny mask go wide. Flicking off the safety, I place the muzzle against her temple. Fear burns in those beautiful crystal irises of hers.

“Got something you wanna say, Rabbit?”

Her lips part, and for a second I’m sure she’s going to say it. Savage.

But instead, she licks her lips and shuts them.

Good God, she’s magnificent. One of my favorite things about Poppy? Her sheer, fucked-up defiance.

WOW!! This was s dark, twisted, depraved story that was so hard to put down.

When your past is so hard to let go of that you train yourself to become the hunter and find a way to get your vengeance, only to find that you are still the hunted.

Davian and Poppy are perfect for each other. Their history is dark and twisted, but their present is so much more dark, twisted and depraved. When Poppy decides that she’s ready to fulfill her vengeance, she puts so much into play that neither she nor Davian will be ready for what is to come for either of them.

I loved this dark, twisted story and Davian and Poppy. I loved how each of them were able to be themselves with each other and how Davian was tamed a bit by Poppy. How Davian also pulled out the dark depravity of Poppy to suit his desires. This was a great story and I’ve loved the Dark Sovereign characters throughout the series. Davian’s story does not disappoint.

I loved Indy and Griffin’s story.

Snowed in and unable to get away from the mountain, Indy has to find a way to keep busy until she can get back down the mountain road that has been blocked off from the snow storm. She’s not a skier or boarder, but she was interviewing for a job. Her life has changed so much within the past few months and she is desperate to get her life back on track. An unexpected encounter with a guy that is on the mountain for the snow could be what she needs to find her way back and get her life back on track.

Griffin lives for the extreme. He’s a professional surfer during the summer months and a snow boarder in the winter. He looks for snowfalls that he knows will be great to board on and travels to the mountains early so that he can get on the new snow as soon as possible. HIs life is his own, although he is very close with his parents and visits them during the winter months between chasing the snow storms. His life is great, but when he meets Indy and gets to know her while she’s stranded on the mountain, he finds that maybe he’s been missing something.

I really enjoyed this story and I loved the characters. Their path to an HEA wasn’t easy, but they were determined and found a way. They also learned that compromise and sacrifice could be worth it. Enjoyable read and I look forward to more in the Road Trip Romance series by A. K. Evans.

I loved Grace! Her sass, strength, confidence, and whit were all perfect!

I’ve read a few of the Southern Wedding Series books now, but this book sucked me in from the first page and the next think I knew it was 1:30 am. I hated to put it down to go to bed, but I did.

Grace drew me in first and her response to Caine on her first day of work was awesome! I loved this book even from the first chapter and the family dynamic that is the series.

Grace and Caine had a fiery connection even if they didn’t know it at first. Their constant banter and their eventual realization were great throughout this book.

I love the characters in this series and Grace, Caine and Meadow are perfect as a unit. I loved Nash too, he was a great comedic relief that was needed at times. Great story!

MY REVIEW: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

He’s the second in command of the Baton Rouge Bachelors and he has a story about his past. His life was great, but then one tragic event changed everything.

Cain saw the classic car sitting on the side of the road on his way home and had to stop. He loved the classic cars and that was the reason he stopped, but then when he saw the driver, he was happy he stopped. The woman driving the classic was as beautiful as the car. His next run in with her is not a pleasant though because Makaylie is suspicious and won’t give Cain the chance to explain why he’s at the same apartment building that Makaylie arrived at. When she finds out that they are neighbors, she’s embarrassed that she gave him such a hard time.

These two are perfect for each other and they will have a rocky road to get to their HEA, but it’ll be worth the work to find that HEA with each other. I loved the story and the characters. I can’t wait to read book 2.

MY REVIEW: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Whew! The conclusion to the Baton Rouge Bachelors Duet was perfect. It was full of danger, steam, and twists that were so unexpected. I loved it. I’ve loved the NOLA Defiance MC men and women from the start and the introduction to the Baton Rouge Bachelors was a great addition to the series.

I loved Makaylie and Cain, add in Iron Rod and the characters were perfect. The story is sad, surprising, and twisted. I wish there were going to be more. I think Iron Rod needs his own story. I love K. E. Osborn’s stories and Baton Rouge Bachelors did not disappoint at all. I loved it and hated to see it end.
