Author J.L. Drake was born and raised in Nova Scotia, Canada, later moving to Southern California where she lives with her husband and two children.
When she’s not writing she loves to spend time with her family, traveling or just enjoying a night at home. One thing you might notice in her books is her love for the four seasons. Growing up on the east coast of Canada the change in the seasons is in her blood and is often mentioned in her writing.
An avid reader of James Patterson, J.L. Drake has often found herself inspired by his many stories of mystery and intrigue.
She hopes you will enjoy her stories as much as she has enjoyed writing them.
This was a great story and it’s a story that I didn’t know that I needed until I read it. I love that it goes all the way back to the beginning of Blackstone and Shadows. The ups and downs of Daniel and his team is so heart wrenching, but so great to see how they came together to help each other and the support that Daniel’s parents gave him was great. Having a woman by his side that was able to encourage him and bring light to his darkness was great and I loved Sue.
As the story came back to the present it was great to see the chaos and family life that these characters live and share with each other. I was so happy to see that there was more to come from the characters and a new direction for the teams. I look forward to reading the rest of the Dark Water Series and hope that new characters that are brought in to share their lives with this great group of men and women will be as awesome as the main characters we’ve already met are. With J. L. Drake’s writing, I am sure that will be the case. I love the characters and the family feel that all of the characters bring to this series. I give this book a 5-star review and will be watching for Whiskey to come along.
I read lots of books, from mythology retellings to literary fiction and I love to reread books from childhood, this is a place to voice my thoughts for fun. I also like to ramble about things such as art or nature every now and again.
