A sophisticated version of the chubby, shy girl Blade once knew, Quinn brings out all his protective instincts—as well as a few carnal ones that surprise him.
Quinn’s pride in having improved herself has turned bitter. She’s trapped in a relationship with a brutal man who views her as nothing more than a possession. MY REVIEW:
Adam “Blade” Garrison is chosen for a specific assignment because of his background. He’s pulled from his SEAL team to work with Ian Black’s mercenary group to infiltrate a suspected criminals business dealings to determine if the new contract with the US military is going to be a case of espionage. His assignment is to be body guard and protector for the wife of a billionaire. The only problem is that Blade was once good friends with this wife when they were in high school. However, she looks very different than she did eight years ago and Blade’s not so sure that he can be impartial to way she is treated by her husband, who only thinks of her as a possession.
Quinn Halliday is resigned to her life as a kept woman by a man who sees her as nothing more than a possession. She just wishes that she could find a way to get out of the marriage and live her life the way she wants to live it. Her chance may come when she is introduced to her new bodyguard. However, she has to pretend that she does not recognize him or he won’t get to stay.
Blade has an assignment to complete, but he now has a new mission, to get Quinn away from her husband who is in very deep with too many criminals to be safe for either of them. He will do whatever he can to keep Quinn safe.
I loved this book and I love the characters in the HOT SEAL Team series. Ian Black is a great character as are all of the SEALs. The characters are all so well rounded and developed and they seem so real. I love that these guys all work so well together and that they can call on each other whenever they need anything, not just as a SEAL Team but as buddies as well. These books always leave me wanting more and this one was no different. I love Alpha males in these books and the women who make them lose their heads so easily and make them so vulnerable. Great book. I give this book a 4.5 star review and look forward to more of the team as well as Ian’s teams books.
