Review of The List (Martha Munro Crime Mysteries, Book 1) by Michael Leese @Booksnall2020 @MichaelLWrites

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

A gripping story of deception, betrayal, loyalty, tragedy and many, many secrets within secrets.

Martha Munro is content in her life. She lives with mum and her four-year-old daughter. She just made detective and lives in the shadow of her father, John Munro, he ran the anti-corruption squad at Scotland Yard, and has many enemies. He may no longer be living, but his reputation and his secrets live on. Now Martha must figure out what his secrets were to save herself and her daughter from tragedy and betrayal. She’ll find allies in people she’s known her whole life as well as in unexpected places.

This story was so hard to put down. It was gripping and sucked me in from the beginning of the book. I loved everything about this book, the characters, the story, the secrets, the intrigue throughout. Martha is a tough woman living in her father’s shadow, but she finds herself making a name in the police department as well. Even if she didn’t intend for it to happen. She just wants to live her life, enjoy her daughter and her mum and her close friends, but someone else has other plans for her. This was my first read of a Michael Leese book, but it won’t be my last. I love the way he carried the story and kept the reader on the edge of their seat throughout. I give this book a 5-star review and I am looking forward to more stories with Martha and her crew.

Review of Oath of Obedience (Deviant Doms) by Jane Henry

5 out of 5

He went to prison for Manslaughter, but he didn’t mean for the man to die. He is the released from prison early, only to find out that the plans his brother has for him could mean a completely different kind of prison. Orlando is set to marry the daughter of a traitor to the family. His only thoughts are that he will get her pregnant and produce an heir and strengthen the family.

When Angelina and Elise find out that Elise is to go home and marry a son of another mafia family, these two best friends concoct a plan to prevent Elise having to marry a man she is not in love with. Elise is in love with her bodyguard and Angelina feels that she needs to help her best friend, after all, Elise saved Angelina’s life, now it’s her chance to repay that debt. The only trouble is that their plans do not go as they had wanted.

I loved this story and the suspense kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the book. Orlando’s plans didn’t quite go as he had thought either. Secrets, deceit, and betrayal bring this story together and keeps the pages turning. It was a great read and I look forward to the next book in the series. Jane Henry never disappoints with her Mafia stories. Her men are dark, dangerous, sexy, and have hearts that can be broken, and her women are strong, sassy, sexy, and just as vulnerable as the men. I give this story a 5-star review.

Review of Kye: Project Arma Book 8, by Nyssa Kathryn

  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

I loved the ending to the Project Arma series. This story had a lot of twists and turns and surprises. It was action packed, tragic, and explosive.

Kye has a soft spot for Samantha, but he hasn’t had much time to spend with her to get to know her. Being who he is and his above average abilities, he is the one that believes he will get them free from the captive state they are in, but Samantha surprises him by her determination and strength.

Samantha is determined that she will not complete the work that Carter is forcing her to do, and she is also determined to free her and Kye. She’s a smart woman and her strength to survive is impressive.

I loved this series and hated to see the end of it, but what an end it was. The twists and surprises in this book were great! The self-proclaimed forever bachelor has met someone that will turn his world upside down. I loved the unpredictability of the story and the characters as always were spectacular. I look forward to the next series by Nyssa Kathryn. I give this story a 5-star review and would definitely give it double if possible.

Review of Wiz: Royal Devils MC: Texas, Book #4 by Erin Trejo @trejo_erin

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

One wrong move while hacking brought him to the attention of the wrong people. Now his past has come back to haunt him, and he is forced to work for someone he has no interest in working for. The worst part is that he has to do it to save his family, and he will bring Becca down with him when he decides to go out on his own to protect his MC family.

Wiz and Becca go out on their own thinking it’s the best course to take, but when they find themselves in a situation where they have no recourse, Wiz calls his president and asks for his help. When the MC joins Wiz in this wild ride, they find that there are more lies and deception than they were expecting.

I really liked this story of Wiz and Becca, she may have been healing from her previous torture, but Wiz wants to get her to open up and find herself again. He vows to keep her safe and bring her back out of her shell, and when they figure out their attraction to each other their lives become a bit more complicated. Great read and as usual with Erin Trejo’s stories and the Royal Devils, full of action, twists, and steam. I give it a 5-star rating.

Review of Cruel Lies: Cruel Secrets Duet, Book 1 by Faith Summers @khardinegray1

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

They were childhood best friends and then a secret tore them apart. They both come from families of the Bratva, one the Pakhan’s child, the other his best friend’s child, but there are secrets at play and deception in the ranks. When the Pakhan and the wife of his best friend die in a tragic death both children will grow to hate each other, and the families will deteriorate.

When tragedy keeps finding Willow and her life seems to just keep getting darker, Caspian comes back into her life and wreaks more havoc, that is until he finds that she is in danger. He may hate her, but he does not want her dead.

This is a forbidden love story of two families that were once aligned and close that has become immortal enemies, but unfortunately, for Willow, she is the only surviving member of her family. She has a large inheritance, one that will bring danger to her and could destroy her. I really liked this dark story of best friends to enemies to lovers. There are a lot of twists and turns in this story and I can’t wait to read the final book in the duet, Cruel Promises. There are a lot of lies and deception that will be revealed.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

A retelling of Frozen, but with a sexy twist.

When she overhears her sister talking about a situation that she has gotten the family business in, she needs to find a way to help her and make things right. When she runs into Ice at a company dinner, she starts to see a way out.

I really liked this story and was hoping that Nessa and Murcury would have a story. The heat between Hannah and Ice is a slow burn. It was great story and has great characters. I love the story and it left me wanting more of these characters. I give this story a 5-star review.

Review of The Biker’s Wish (RBMC, Tonopah, NV Chapter) by Nikki Landis @EJBookPromos @landisnikkiauth

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

This was everything I was hoping it would be for Shadow and Stephanie’s story. Dark, dirty, deadly and with an HEA as a surprise. I loved it!

Shadow has always had his back up, but he didn’t know it or where it came from. When he finally gets on the trail of those responsible for taking his precious Stephanie, all is revealed, and the twists and turns of this story were enthralling. This was a hard book to put down and I read it from beginning to end in one sitting.

I loved Shadow from the first time I met him and is story only made him more endearing to me. I loved that for a young man that had been through so much in his young life was still able to love and show compassion to those that deserved it. His vulnerability when it came to the club just showed that he might have been neglected, abused, and terrorized, but he still had a heart and compassion to share. I loved it and give it 5-stars.

Review of The Nut Low: A Small-Town Romance (A Good Run of Bad Luck, Book 6) by Giulia Lagomarsino @crzybookladyluv @EJBookPromos

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

I love these characters in A Good Run of Bad Luck. I was happy to see that Jo had her own story, but I was hoping for more for her. I love Jo’s big heart and kindness. She deserves to have someone to count on and spend her time with. She’s lonely and feels alone most of the time. She is lucky that she has found a family with. Antonio and Ciara, but she wants more.

Mason has decided to come back home after traveling the world for fourteen years. He’s a man of mystery to the town’s folk in the little town he grew up in. He left as a young man and after fourteen years has come home. Now everyone wants to know where he’s been and what he has been doing. As is true with small towns, everyone has their opinion and is sharing it with anyone that will listen. Town gossip could get him into some trouble as well.

I have loved all of the books in the A Good Run of Bad Luck as well as The Cortell Brothers and Reed Security Series. The books have been a light read for the most part, but this one was not a light and humorous as the others. It was still just as good, but not as light. It was a great read and I look forward to more to come. I was pleased to see the Reed Security crew in this book and a little of the Cortell Brothers. I love Giulia Lagomarsino’s books and always enjoy them. I give this book a 5-star review and cannot recommend these books enough to readers.

Review of Savage Hunter: Sinfully Savage, Book 5 by Kristen Luciani @kristen_luciani

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5

She may be the daughter of a famous mob boss and be treated like a princess, but she is stronger than her father and her older brother think she is. Lily Salesi has tried to distance herself from her family as much as she can. She has dreams of what how she wants to live her life, but it seems that her families’ ties follow her no matter where she goes. The botched kidnapping attempt on her when she went home has Lily still in danger.

Zeno Villani has been tasked with helping out Joe Salesi by taking out two men associated with a competitor that is trying to take over area that the Salesi family controls in New Jersey. Little does he know that what he’s been asked to do, to show his family is trustworthy, is start a war with Domenico Messina, a man that has been trying to step into the Villani territories in Italy as well. Zeno’s family wants to join forces with the Severinov’s and join Red Lardo, this was the initiation into the society. Red Lardo is a society that is starting up with the Severinov’s and Villani’s.

Danger has followed Zeno too. Now these two have to fight for their lives. Betrayal, lies, and egos are rampant in this book. I enjoyed the story and I love the series and characters. I give this book at 5-star review and look forward to more in the near future.

Review of Legend: Cerberus MC, Book 19 by Marie James @AuthrMarieJame @WildfireMarket1

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 out of 5

I love the Cerberus MC characters. They are loyal, protective, and faithful. They fight for those that can’t fight for themselves, but they do their fighting on foreign soil. They are men you can count on when needed.

Ethan “Legend” Packwood is a man that has been with many women, but the one woman that does not fall at his feet has caught his attention. The only trouble is that she wants nothing to do with Legend. He will give her space, but when she finds herself in danger, all bets are off. Legend will do whatever he can to save her and protect her, even if she fights him all the way.

Faith Robbins had a rough childhood. It formed her and made her who she is today. She fights for kids and works to keep them safe. When they are living in a bad situation, Faith is a woman that will fight to help them get safe and stay safe. She’s confident, strong, and independent. Her confidence wanes though when it comes to relationships and men.

Legend and Faith are great characters. I was hoping that Faith would be stronger for Legend, but she seemed to fit him well. The Cerberus men are fierce protectors and Legend is no different. Faith had a long way to go to get to the understanding that Legend wanted to spend his life with her, but once they finally communicated things were better. I enjoyed the book, and I am looking forward to Grinch’s book to come next. I give this story a 4-star review.
