He had a list, a plan for his future after his injury. He was determined to follow that list and plan, but his plans are shot to heck with Mari met Mac. Now Harrison’s plans are defunct as well as his list. He may have one more chance, but his life is still up in the air. The beautiful woman that walked up to him and asked him to dance along with proposing a deal with him, will turn his world upside down as well.

Georgina “Gigi’s” life isn’t what everyone believes it is. She is beautiful and in the public eye, but her life is not her own. She sees two faces in the mirror when she looks at herself. She has to fight for her sanity and the darkness surrounding her, but maybe the handsome man that she sees at her cousin’s wedding could be her bright light and bring her from the darkness.

I really liked Harrison and Gigi’s story. It was dark, pain ridden, and eye opening. Harrison sees more than Gigi’s beauty, but it takes a while for him to see it. This story had so many sides to it and brought so much to the surface for the reader. Harrison and his brothers have a lot to overcome just like Harrison and Gigi did for their relationship. I look forward to more of the Ryan brothers and the women that will bring them down. I give this story a 5-star review.

Four college friends that met their first year of college. Two are related, one comes from familiar family, but one is new to the group and fits in perfectly. They are the Ride or Die kind of friends. She has no idea about who her family is because her parents didn’t want to raise her. Now Davina’s part of a mafia family by association. One mistake and the lives of all four girls turns upside down. They’re making some crazy decisions.

He’s the head of the Brennan Mafia family and he is connected to some very powerful people. He’s also the father of Davina’s best friend. He will do anything to protect his family while he and his son work to take down those that killed his best friend and his family. He includes his daughter’s group of friends as part of his family and watches over them and protects them.

I loved this story of forbidden love, age-gap, and crazy young girls doing their best to find their way in a world of power, protection, and overbearing men. They do some crazy things and believe they are getting away with all of it, but there is always someone watching. I love Eva Winners’ books; she writes her characters with so much charisma and character that they feel like friends. Her books have made me cry and laugh, but they always leave me wanting so much more of her characters and their stories. I give this book a 5-star review and I cannot wait to read the Kingpins of the Syndicate Series books.

“James,” my father barked, causing me to grit my teeth. I never once knew him to speak to me in a kind voice. Everything about him was abrasive and set me on edge.
Knowing I had to acknowledge him at some point, I turned and took off my wool coat, handing it to my father’s butler, Thomas. Composing myself, I followed the sound of his voice to his study where he already had a cigar lit as he looked through some documents.
“Yes?”
“John Wallace will be here soon. I need you to look after him for me.”
I gritted my teeth, knowing what was coming. “Sure.”
His eyes met mine in a hostile way that would have scared any board member, but I was used to him. “Not sure. Before Michael’s death, Wallace and I were on the verge of merging our companies. We would be the largest corporation on the east coast!” he said, slapping his hand down on his desk.

“You know the stipulations of merging our companies.”
I did, and my brother had readily agreed. It was a gentleman’s game, one in which the merging of companies was sealed with a marriage. It didn’t make sense. Those old fashioned values, the days where a handshake was as good as your word were long over. Any deal could be made now under the right conditions without having to sacrifice your happiness.
“I’m not marrying his daughter.”
“Kimberley is a very nice woman.”
I rolled my eyes at his description. The last time I had seen her, she was meek and boring. Not to mention, her looks left a lot to be desired. Her dirty blonde hair was always a frizzy mess, and the freckles sprinkled over her nose made me think of Orphan Annie. I wasn’t the type of man to judge a woman solely on looks, but I did think there had to be an element of attraction. But above all that, I wanted to like being in the company of my wife. An arranged marriage wasn’t at all a guarantee of happiness.
“She may be nice, but I will not be forced into marriage. I’m not Michael.”
He scoffed at that, his disappointment in me obvious. “I’m well aware that you are not your brother. You prove it to me every day you defy me.”
“And you thought the day of his funeral was the perfect time to bring this up? You can’t even let us mourn him before you shove me off on his fiancé?”
“Business never sleeps. If we don’t move on this now, he’ll make a deal with the Connelly Group. That family is ruthless. If he makes a deal with them, we’ll never expand the way we need to. Is that what you want, for our company to limp along?”
I found it funny that he thought the Connellys were ruthless, when he was planning my marriage on the day of my brother’s funeral. My father was one of the most hated businessmen in the city. People despised working with him because of how unforgiving he could be in a business deal. For that reason alone, I wanted nothing to do with the company.
“I will not marry her,” I said forcefully, my fists clenching hard as I stared him down.
He stood from his desk, buttoning his suit jacket as he walked around to confront me. “It’s a requirement for you to take your place as CEO.”
I huffed out a laugh at that. “We both know I won’t be CEO. You will run the company until you’re dead.”
“But the board needs a fresh face, which is why I was voted out in place of your brother. But make no mistake, the company is run by me.”
“I’m aware of that.”
“Then you know you need my approval to take over.”
“I’m not looking for your approval. This isn’t the life I want. I will never run this company,” I said, turning for the door.
“Then they’ll vote in Jerry Wright.”

Author Bio:
I’m a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, “No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book.” I didn’t think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn’t already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven’t been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. James was the second in line for the family business and he wanted nothing to do with running it or taking on the responsibilities of being in charge. Even if he were to be in charge, he knew that his father would be pulling his strings, even if he did say he was retired. When tragedy struck the family, James had to step up whether he wanted to not, if he didn’t the family would lose everything his father had worked for all his life. While he didn’t want the responsibilities of running the family business, he also did want to see his parents lose everything. He will have to take over the top spot in the family as well as marry to secure that spot.

Rose has always knows that she would be a pawn in her family. Her father would marry her off to someone to gain more power, more money, more everything, but she didn’t want to be a pawn. She wanted to live her life on her own terms. Her future has been decided and planned. She was to marry a boring man that didn’t care for her and wanted to live his own life. A get away by herself to a beautiful beach could ruin her future or make it more bearable.

Another great story by Giulia Lagomarsino. I can’t seem to get enough of her books. I love her characters and her stories. There is always a great story with humor, serious situations, and crazy characters that leave you wanting so much more to be shared. The Shifting Sands Beneath Us was no different and it did not disappoint as a book by Ms. Lagomarsino either. The story was a Billionaire Beach story that has some steamy scenes, some sad scenes, and some funny situations where I was laughing so much. The secondary characters were just as entertaining as the main characters, and I would love for their story to be shared as well. Shane and Clarissa are great, and I would love to read their story as well. I give this story 5-star review.

Viking has been watching Andrea for a while now. She’s a friend of the club and a good friend of the VP’s wife. The one night they shared was nice, but not earth shattering like he thought it might be. He’d like another chance, but she isn’t willing to give it to him.

Andrea finds Viking sexy, and she wants him, but he’s not the man she should be with. The police officer that wants a date with her is the man she should be with. He’s stable, on the right side of the law, and has a good job.

I really liked this story. I’ve enjoyed all of the RBMC stories and the Charleston, WV are no different. Viking and Andrea are a great couple, and they have a strong attraction, but Andrea has a lot of body issues and isn’t sure that she’s the type of woman that he would want to see or have a relationship with. When they finally start seeing each other, it’s through a backwards way and Andrea isn’t sure that they have a chance. Viking has been tasked by his president to find out what they can on the cop that has shown an interest in Andrea, but he’s torn with the plan. He’s finding that he really does want Andrea. These two will have some rough patches to overcome, danger, and tragedy before they will find their HEA. I give this story a 5-star review and am looking forward to more of the RBMC books.

I’ve loved these books since the very first one, but I have to say that I think Alexei is probably my favorite so far. He’s damaged, dark, sexy, and so very possessive. I loved his story, as heartbreaking as it was.

Alexei Nikolaev is a man that has done a lot of bad things in his life, but his biggest regret is about to be put back in his path.

Aurora Ashford is an FBI agent and is working to bring down a ghost. Now she has the chance to work with someone that can get her close to their suspect, but she’s wary of working with this man and his family. She’s an officer of the law and he’s on the FBI’s radar.

This story was tragic, haunting, twisted, and yet so beautifully written. Alexei has a dark past that almost consumes him, but now that he has his family to work with and is a free man, he wants the beautiful FBI agent, but he doesn’t feel as though he is worthy of her. Her brothers agree with him, but is it really their decision to make? As protective of Aurora as they are, she’s a woman with her own mind and she knows what she wants, she just has to come to terms with that and make her decision. This was a great book with great characters, and I can’t wait to read more of the Belles & Mobsters books to come. I give this book a 5-star review and if I could it would be more.
