Gamble clings to two things: the Riot MC brotherhood and a grudge against his sisterโs attacker. When his grudge brings danger to an innocent woman, it sends him into a tailspin. Dumping a woman at the clubhouse โas a message for Gambleโ enrages the Riot MC brothers, but Gamble risks his life in order to mete out vengeance.
Victoriaโs recovery is slow and arduous. Heโs determined to help her heal and move on.
After tragedy strikes, the last place Victoria expects to be is in Gambleโs room. She doesnโt want him to see her broken. She definitely doesnโt want his help to recover. He wonโt have the patience for a woman whose spirit is shattered. Proving her wrong, Gamble refuses to leave her alone. The more he builds her trust, the more she battles her growing desire for him.
As a public defender, Victoria knows she should stay far away from the outlaw biker. But, the blue-eyed outlaw with a sexy Southern drawl argues with her like heโs opposing counsel. They cannot fight their overwhelming attraction. Their relationship grows and changes until they realize they need the same things.
Justice.
And each other.
Gamble grabbed my right hand, then reclined the passenger seat while I drove us home.
โAre you okay?โ I asked.
โIโm good.โ
โGood at lying,โ I said.
โKitten, itโs been two weeks since I got out of the hospital. Iโm getting better.โ
I nodded at the windshield. โYeah, but that doesnโt mean you needed to stand around for an hour with Brute while Aubrey had her practice.โ
He didnโt say anything to that. At a traffic light, I glanced at him. He had a big, beautiful smile on his face. The joy in his expression almost made me think he was stoned, but I knew better.
โWhat are you smiling about?โ
His eyes stayed closed as he said, โIโm fucked, but I like it.โ
โPardon?โ
He opened his eyes. โItโs always gonna be like this, isnโt it?โ
The light changed, I faced forward, and we motored onward. โIs what going to be like this?โ
โUs. The bickering, the fussingโฆ and even your girl Heidi fussing over me. Thatโs how itโs going to be, isnโt it?โ
I pressed my lips together. โI donโt know,โ I murmured.
His seat came forward. โYou know, and itโs true.โ
We were in the driveway. I tried to wrest my hand free, but Gamble hit the clicker with his free hand. I pulled the car forward and he hit the clicker again. He let my hand go so I could park and turn off the engine.
Gamble shifted and cupped my cheeks. โYou love me, right?โ
My chin dipped. โMore than I knew I could love anyone.โ
His eyes lit up. โRight. And Iโm yours in a way I never knew I could belong to anybody.โ
โOkay,โ I said hesitantly. โWhat brought this on?โ
โYouโre mine the same way right? You belong to me?โ
I noddedโฆ still hesitant.
โThatโs what the property patch is about, kitten. At least for me. I see a woman with a brotherโs patch on her back, it doesnโt just tell me sheโs off-limits. It tells me that brother found a woman he cares enough about to make her his. And crazy as you might find it, that makes me happy for that man.โ
I nodded and his hands fell away. โBut some of your brothers havenโt put cuts on their women. I havenโt seen Kenzie wearing anything like that or Trinity.โ
Gamble laughed. โKenzie was wearing one at the Fourth of July party, but you probably didnโt notice because of Stephanie accusing her of cheating at cornhole.โ
โOkay, fine. And Trinity?โ
A lopsided grin crossed his face. โYou might say Trinity made Roman hers, but really, youโd have to ask Roman about that. I donโt know why he hasnโt given her a cut, and God knows Sandy has to be nagging the hell out of Roman about it.โ
โThatโs not saying much. I think she enjoys nagging your brothers.โ
โYeah. But, we recognize women have rights. Set your feminism aside. If I give you a property cut, itโs an honor, Victoria.โ

Bernie – When it comes to gaming,Iโm a pro. When it comes to my love life?Thatโs a different story. Iโve been crushing on my best friendโs older brother forever. In return, heโs kept me in the friend zone for way too long. Then things change between us.And I get to see a whole new,And incredibly sexy side to him. But, he wants to keep things between us a secret.
Wade – I made a promise to my brother. One I refused to break.Until now. Iโve ignored my feelings for the girl for way too long. And the more time we spend together,The harder I find myself falling. Thereโs just one problem,I canโt let anyone know that Iโve made her mine. Can I win her heart before its game-over for us both?
I want so badly to intertwine my fingers with hers, but I canโt, and she drops my hand before reaching for pretzels. โO.M.G. It just hit me how hungry I am.โ She shoves food into her mouth, and I canโt help but chuckle at her.โDid you not eat dinner?โ Leaning into the bar, I watch her with fascination.โI did, but I was wearing a dress.โ She offers this up as if itโs common sense.I snort. โI donโt understand what that has to do with anything.โShe giggles and rolls her eyes. โLet me school you in some basic female knowledge.โ She shoves more food into her mouth. If she wasnโt drunk, sheโd be embarrassed at the way sheโs acting. I find it endearing.โMkay. By all means, Bernie, educate me.โShe makes a face, and Iโm not sure what I said that threw her off, but then she tells me. โIf youโre gonna use a nickname, itโs Benny now.โ She scoffs.Confused, I just shake my head. Iโll admit, I donโt use her shortened name often. Way back in the day, she introduced herself to me as Bernadette, so it just stuck. Iโve always kinda liked that Iโm the only one to use her full name, but Iโm not on my game tonight. Between her being drunk and overly flirting with me, the new knowledge I possess about her, and the douche-waffle thinking he has a chance with her, I slip and use her nickname.โAnyway, what do you have to teach me, oh wise one?โ I smirk, getting her back on track.โOhh, I like that. But I think youโre making fun. I digress. When a woman is wearing a fancy dress, there are two rules. One, donโt make a mess. And two, donโt stuff yourself silly or your food baby will show.โA deep belly laugh erupts from me. Between breaths, I ask, โFood baby?โSheโs soaking up my laughter, and she nods vigorously. โYes, you know when you eat too much and it just sits there in your gut, and it looks like youโre about fifteen weeks preggo? Ergo, food baby. You donโt do that in a fancy tight-fitting dress.โMy laughter under control now, I tell her, โI donโt think Iโve ever seen you like this before, Bernadette.โ I chuckle, taking in her carefree, easy demeanor. Her eyes flash with something.โLike what?โ She hiccups.โDrunk,โ I deadpan. Her eyes widen. โOh, then Iโve done my job.โI quirk my brow, โDo you get drunk often and hide it?โ She giggles. โWell, shit, do I need to stage an intervention?โHer pure happiness sets my blood on fire, and it takes everything in me to not reach out to touch her.โStop, Iโm not a closet drunk. I mean, you donโt see me drunk because I donโt get drunk. In public or alone.โ She tries her damnedest to make a serious face, but the attempt ends up just amusing her, and her eyes sparkle. My own grin grows. โYouโre fun like this. Carefree.โSheโs being hilarious right now. I know she doesnโt need alcohol to make her funny. Sheโs always fun to be around. But I realize now that I donโt have a lot of one-on-one conversations with her. Iโm going to start craving this connection.โIโm not normally fun?โ She pops out her bottom lip, leaning forward slightly. Her scent fills my lungs. I take in a deep breath and lean in closer to her.โNo, youโre fun, Benny.โ My voice is deep. Her eyes glitter at the use of her new nickname. She attempts to be serious, but fails. โJust more fun when Iโm wasted, yeah?โโNah. But normally, you donโt let me get close enough to have fun.โ I donโt know why I said that, but itโs out there now.Her eyes widen, and her mouth forms a little o. I let the silence envelop us. The ball is in her court now.โWellโฆโ She closes her mouth, opens it again, and then closes it.I offer a soft laugh. She seems to gather her thoughts and says, โWell, you know where I live. So if you want fun, you know where to find me.โWell. Fuck. Me.I gulp, taking in her words, and before I can reply, sheโs walkingโno, runningโaway. Gia drapes her arm over her as the girls pull her into the conversation. Iโm looking at her, still processing the gauntlet she threw down, and she peeks at me over her shoulder, gives me a little smile, then turns back to the group.Damn, she launched that fucking ball right back into my court, didnโt she?

Emily Saturn is a lawyer from a very well known, wealthy family. She is a workaholic, shy, and quiet. Most people that know her describe her as kind, and quiet. Sheโs socially awkward, but no one says that. Sheโs been dealt a tragic loss and has been spiraling since.
Bobby March is also from a well know, wealthy family. He is a well-liked young man that can keep a group of people talking for hours by just mentioning something that interests them and then moving on. Heโs smitten with Emily right away, but she has no idea why.
I really liked Emily and Bobbyโs story. There were so many intermingled parts to this story. There is no such thing as coincidence, just opportunity and Jo Harper seems to jump on those opportunities. This was my first book by Michelle Dayton, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it and am glad to have been introduced to her. The way that Ms. Dayton keeps the reader going through the book with so many different plots and the interest to find out how Bobby and Emily will end is great. I believe that I will have to go back and read the first two books in this series for the other stories now that Iโve read Escape Girl. I really like Ms. Daytonโs writing style and her story telling. I give this book a 4-star review.
Given as a gift. Kept as a prisoner. Fighting to be a queen.
Sasha She was given to me as a gift, with a twist. I was to keep her safe, protect her. An old friend called in a big favor, and now I have this innocent young woman in my home. Scared, fragile โฆ tempting. The lines blur, and the heat between us ignites. She’s my good girl gone bad, and I’ll burn the world down to keep her safe.
But as we grow closer, old secrets rise to the surface. I’m supposed to keep her safe, but she hasn’t told me everything. I can’t protect her if I don’t know the truth, and soon things take a dangerous turn. One even my power and money might not be able to fight.
Leah He’s my owner. For a few months. It’s all fake, though. Really, he’s supposed to protect me. The trouble is he wants more. I can see it in his hungry gaze. Worse still, so do I. Yet the world he inhabits is dangerous and full of sin. Too much for a girl like me. Then he says three little words, and I’m lost. “My good girl.”
I’ll be his good girl in private, but I also want my rightful place by his side. As his queen. I won’t give up this fight because it is the most important of my life. Then fate throws us a curveball, and a secret I’d long thought buried resurfaces. My past and my future are at war. I can only pray my future wins.

Kellan and Miaโs story is a tough one. They both have scars so deep that they feel as if they are destined to be alone for eternity, unable to trust easily, broken from their pasts, they find themselves pushed together by their closest friends, but their pasts come back and cause havoc with them. This time though, Kellan could lose the love of his life. He has to make a difficult decision and it almost breaks him.
I loved this story of Kellan and Mia. They are both awkward and broken, but they are perfect for each other. Kellan will not only have to fight for the woman that he loves, but also for his little girl when her being threatened of being taken from him brings a whole new secret to light. Now the Doughty family is brought together and will fight to help Kellen, not only in his custody battle for Hallie, but for Mia as well. This story was detailed in the past of Kellan, but not as much for Miaโs past. I am looking forward to more of the Beautifully Brutal Series to come. I give this book a 5-star review.
She found her daughter, her freedom from captivity, and The Community, but she still felt as if her life was a mess. Would her daughter, sister, Jackal, and the Death Hounds MC family be better off without her around? Can her life have meaning after the tragedy that sheโs lived through? Rose is a strong woman who has fought to get her freedom from the devil and his mother, she was able to find her freedom and some sanity when she killed her devil. Sheโs been reunited with her twin sister and her daughter. Now she needs to find purpose and a place in her sisterโs life as well as a happiness. Adam might be the man to help her, but she has no idea if what she is feeling is real or not.
He’s fought his demons and has found a family within the Death Hounds MC; his aunt and his cousin are special to him. Roseโs daughter is a special little girl and has stolen his heart, but so has her mother. He doesnโt feel as if he is good enough for Rose or that he is the right man for her, but his feelings overpower him, and he canโt deny that he wants a life with Rose. Adam, โJackalโ, will fight for the woman he loves and prove to her and himself that he is the man for her and Iris, her daughter.
This story was heartbreaking and beautiful. Rose is a strong woman that has had devastating childhood since she was twelve years old and adopted without her twin sister. Her life was not what Violet had pictured it as when she was left behind. Rose had to fight so hard to get free of The Community and the man that owned her. When she finally found her freedom, she thought she was okay, but then another predator found her and preyed on her. She left him behind, but he found her and now her life is in danger again, only this time, there is someone else in the crossfire too and they are loved as much as Rose is by the Death Hounds MC and they will stop at nothing to find their family and protect them. I loved Jackal and Roseโs story. There was some miscommunication to begin with, but when they decided to talk and get their feelings in the open things were great. I love the Death Hounds MC, they are a great family, they love hard, and they fight fiercely for their loved one. Iโm enjoying meeting the Death Hounds and reading their stories and I canโt wait for more. I give this book a 5-star review.

Let’s see…where to begin… I’m inching up on the BIG 4-0. The gray hairs are doubling what seems like daily, and the wrinkles and laugh lines are more pronounced than ever. I have an amazing husband (Married just over 15 years.) We have two boys we’re doing our best to raise as respectful gentleman. I have a master’s degree in criminal justice which I used to work as a juvenile probation office until deciding to write full-time in June of 2019. So that means there’s usually always some criminal/law element to my novels. If I’m not writing; I’m reading. My favorite genres recently are bully/reverse harem and enemies to lovers. Maybe I’m reliving my traumatic teen years through the girls who actually end up with the boys. (Not that I would change my history since it’s gotten me exactly where I need to be!) I love coffee. I miss carbs. Music is LIFE. I try not to be too serious.

Copyright 2022 Michelle DaytonOne Year AgoThe painting was so ludicrous that I chewed the inside of my top lipโhard enough that the next sip of gin was going to sting. But if I didnโt control my mouth, it was going to shape itself into a judgy, bitchy smirk at our poor hostessโs expense. The painting was of a womanโs back, butt, and legs as she lounged on a blue velvet settee. It didnโt reveal any part of the subjectโs face. But it was clearly supposed to be Selma. Selma was a big fan of strapless gowns and asymmetrical shirts. The triangle of small moles on her left shoulder blade was as familiar to me as the shade of dark pink lipstick always highlighting her formidable lips. The woman in the painting sported an identical isosceles mole triangle, as well as a spill of hair in a variety of blonde shades ranging from honey to platinum. Iโd once heard Selma boast that it took three colorists four hours every six weeks to keep her signature blend of hair colors perfect.I cocked my head as my eyes traveled to the problematic part of the woman in the painting. She may have had Selmaโs geometric moles and she may have had Selmaโs intricate hair. The ass, howeverโฆโDo you think this painting is a prophecy?โ A question spoken so low that only I could hear.I snapped my gaze away from the paintingโs exquisite ass and looked up in surprise at the man suddenly next to me. โHuh?โ I didnโt recognize him, but that wasnโt surprising as Iโd only been back in the Bay Area for a couple of weeks.I would have remembered him if Iโd seen him before. He was one of those unmistakable people. (Us generic-looking people often resent his kind.) He was probably mid-thirties, over six feet tall with thick, golden hair, grown at a shaggy length that would look stupid on most men, but it decidedly did not look stupid on him. He was tan like heโd just come back from a beach vacation, and he had deep smile lines around his eyes and mouth. They were crinkled now around his bright blue eyes.My own were crinkled too, not with mirth but with confusion. โA prophecy?โโA prophecy is a prediction, a forecast,โ he began, eyes twinkling. Was he teasing or mansplaining?โYes, I know what a prophecy is,โ I said. Snapped, really. Iโd been around at enough of these nights to be familiar with the typical male attendees. The men near my age usually fell into particular categories: boastful start-up tech founders, schmoozy sales and marketing execs, and lots of โI know everythingโ lawyers. Most of them treated these nights like networking events or auditions for a TED Talk instead of parties.Iโd been so dreading my possible seating partners for dinner that Iโd snuck into the dining room to see the place cards when we first arrived. Thank God I was seated next to my father.โExcellent.โ He waved his negroni toward the painted naked lady. โSo I was just wondering if this painting is a heads-up from our hostess about certain impending changes.โOh. The mischief in his voice made my lips twitch. Heโd been teasing, then. This wasnโt some stuffy ibanker or insufferable crypto bro. Inexplicably, this was someone fun.I raised an eyebrow at him and spoke softly. โMeaning, Selma wants everyone to know that sheโll soon be getting butt implants?โHe grinned down at me, almost with relief, as though heโd been hoping to find someone snarky. โPerhaps the buttock augmentation is already complete.โ He pointed directly below the painting. I hadnโt noticed the blue velvet settee against the wall, an identical twin to the one in the portrait. โPerhaps sheโll settle herself right there later and let us compare art to reality.โIt was just too perfect of an image: ludicrous, of course, but if Selma had one too many negronis, you could almost see it happening. Oh God, please let that happen. Iโd suffer through twelve boring dinner parties if Selma would cross that bizarre, hilarious line.A significant snort-laugh erupted from my nose before I could stop it. โSorry,โ I gasped. His answering laugh was deep and delighted. โDonโt be. I love it when people snort when they laugh. Itโs literally one of my favorite things in life.โ Well, I loved when people got tears in their eyes at the smallest of chuckles, and right now, there was a sheen of moisture covering his.โI donโt know you, and I usually know everyone at these things,โ he said, like an invitation.Sigh. Now I would introduce myself, and he would get that look in his eye when he realized who my father was.I opened my mouth, but to my surprise, he cut me off. โSo I asked four different people here who you were and what youโre like.โMy mouth closed abruptly. Why would he do that? Also, I could guess what the four people had said, and they were all sure to be wrong. I swallowed a sigh. โOh?โ This encounter had started so fun. Now I wondered how soon I could excuse myself. He took a slow sip. โYouโre Sven Saturnโs daughter.โ Yep. For the entirety of my life, that would be the firstโand sometimes the onlyโthing most people cared about. โYouโre intensely smart and have some sort of big, important job.โ OK, he totally embellished that point. Iโm sure whoever he talked to actually just used the word workaholic. To be fair, that was also correct. Work was my place, my cathedral, my sports arena. Work was home.He cocked his head. โAnd youโre very quiet and sweet.โOf course thatโs what they said. Quiet was correct; sweet was not. But when youโre a little shy with a heart-shaped face and round eyes, people always make the leap to sweet. In actuality, Resting Bitch Face would have suited my internal personality much better. Iโm sure people were trying to be kind, but why is sweet a good thing to call someone? In our hyperaggressive, competitive world, who the hell wanted to be sweet? To the man beside me, I ducked my chin. โWell, that was nice of them.โ Where was the tray of negronis? Maybe Iโd survive this night with a nice little buzz. Or maybe I could put on headphones and go into another room on the pretense of taking a call. I had Netflix on my phone. His blue eyes were so bright. โItโs bullshit though, right?โHis gaze and forthright tone gave me a buzz that had nothing to do with gin. He tapped his temple. โThereโs a lot going on in there, but Iโm guessing that very little of it is sweet.โCorrect. Either he was extremely astute orโฆ โIs this your schtick?โ I retorted. โFind the quiet girl in the room and make her feel like sheโs some sort of secret badass that only you can see?โHe laughed. Hard. A surprised, loud, genuinely elated laugh. I did that, I thought proudly.โWho are you?โ he asked, and suddenly his blue eyes wereโฆintense. The direct stare right at me, the timbre of his voice, the way he drew a microinch closer. My skin went warm from head to toe and my pulse went thud, Thud, THUD.I swallowed, and his gaze went to my throat and back to my eyes. He leaned even closer, then apparently realized that was not dinner-party-appropriate, so he backed up so quickly he banged into someone behind him. A slight flush crawled up his jaw as he recovered, but his embarrassment didnโt make him look away or change the intensity of his expression.Did I do that to him? I wasnโt the kind of woman that made men clumsy, but I could sense it. He felt the thud, Thud, THUDDING too.โIโm Emily,โ I managed, remembering to offer a hand. His warm hand took hold of mine, not like a greeting shake, but as if he intended to keep it.
