Tragic, haunting, and emotional read.
Blake’s past still haunts him, it was brutal and painful. It’s the main reason he doesn’t act on his feelings for Ember, a club girl. He believes that he’s not good enough for her, so he keeps his feelings locked up tight, but when he can’t stay away any longer, a surprise shows up and his world is flipped.
Ember comes from a prominent family, but that doesn’t mean she was showered with love and affection. It just means that she decided to rebel, but during one of those rebellious times she found herself in a lot of trouble with no escape, until two bikers stood up and took out of harms way, now she has a family of her choice and people who let her be herself and follow her own dreams. She just wishes that Blake felt for her half as much as she feels for him.
This was a tragic story with a haunting past for one character that followed him all the time. His demons aren’t far away at any given time, but his new family helps him keep a tight reign on the thoughts that bring him down. Blake is a good man that survived an awful childhood and just wants some good in his life. I loved the story and the characters. I’ve loved this series so far and Seeking Peace was a great addition to the series. I look forward to more books in the Kings of Retribution Montana MC Series to come.

Azrael and his brothers are just looking for some time away to regroup and get away from the pain and memories that are bringing his twin down. The Bastard Boilers MC is ready to head to Mexico for a week of fun in the sun and some time to heal. While on their trip, they find a woman stranded on the side of the road and stop to help her. Azrael had no idea the impact this woman would have on him, but he’s ready to take the ride.
Hallie is beyond happy that she has received a coveted invite to the Motorcycles, Mobsters, and Mayhem book signing in Conroe, Texas. Being an author is a dream come true for her and now another dream has come true for her, her first signing, and the MMM 2023 at that. In her beat up, old clunker of a car, she heads to Texas, only to get stranded on the side of the road in Arkansas and help hours away due to the incoming storm and tow trucks being tied up. When some bikers pull up to help Hallie, she’s immediately on alert. After all, she does write MC romance and she has an inkling how these guys are.
This was a great story and I loved Azrael and Hallie. Neither one are what I was expecting, but they are great. I love the connection to the MMM 2023 and story line around their connecting as well as Azrael’s idea to stay with Hallie. I loved this first book in the Bastard Boilers MC and I will keep a watch for more in the future. This was one of my first books by Avelyn Paige, but I will be purchasing more.

Ellis has wanted Arabella for quite a while and when an opportunity arrises, he will take advantage of the situation and make her his.
Arabella hates Ellis and they are always sparing over the fence between their properties. He enjoys her sass and that she’s not afraid to stand up to him. She despises him and wants nothing to do with him, or does she? When she finds herself in his home and has no idea for how long, the feelings begin to show.
I love how Ellis is a hard man, but he is a softy when it comes to Arabella. His life was not gentle or kind growing up and it made him and his brothers the hard, lethal men they are, but there is a soft side that only comes out for the right person and that just so happens to be Arabella.
This was my first book by Jewelz Baxter, but will not be my last. I enjoyed her writing style and her story telling and I look forward to finding more of her books to read. I’ll be buying some soon.

Tragic, suspenseful, secrets revealed, action packed, and second chances.
She had planned to return home at some point, but she wasn’t planning to do it so soon. She had a time line, but someone moved that time line up on her. Now she’s in danger in her home state of Alaska. Good thing she has her MC sisters behind her and more on the way. She also has the love of her life behind her, but they need to clear the air first. Scout’s secret is going to be revealed, she isn’t sure how she’s going to deal with it, but she will.
Thad is the lead investigator on the case that brings Scout back home. Their past is unresolved. They both believe the other to have been the reason for their pain but when secrets are revealed about their past will they be able to work together to protect Scout’s family? Thad’s life after Scout wasn’t a happy one, but the one part of that he doesn’t regret is his son.
I really enjoyed this book. It’s a great chapter of the Devil’s Handmaidens and I can’t wait to read more of this chapter.

A great start to a new MC by J. A. Collard, also a new author to me. I’m hooked on her books now.
The Sub Rosa MC is his legacy, his parents may not have wanted him to live that life, but it’s in his blood and he wants to be a part of the family. He has finally been invited to prospect but before he can become a fully patched member his life takes a turn and he’s thrust into the life without being prepared. Aside from the tragedy that brought him fully into the MC, he pushes the woman he’s in love with away to protect her, but did he do the right thing? Harley has to learn how to run the MC by being thrust into the life because of one man that has a vendetta against Harley and his father and the club.
She’s tried to get him to talk to her long enough, now she’s ready to move on, but for some reason he keeps popping into her mind again. Will she move on with her life, or will Harley trap Serena by staying on her mind? Serena’s not happy with her father’s choices in business, but he’s kept her safe and a roof over her head. Now that she’s away from Harley, her father wants her to marry the son of a Don. He’s been a pain most of her life, but when she finally decides to move on he’s there and her perception of him has changed.
I loved this addition to the MMM World and I loved the characters in this book. I am looking forward to the next book and the answers to all of the questions and the cliff hanger that this book left me in. I will also be looking for more of J. A. Collard’s books to read.

“Come on, think Tressa,” I mutter to myself. I woke up to find myself trussed up like a
Thanksgiving turkey. Of course, if I hadn’t gotten a streak of bravery and mouthed off at the
jerks who took me, I probably wouldn’t have taken the blow to my face that knocked me
out.
Newsflash, getting hit like that hurts! My face feels puffy and one eye is partially closed,
while I can taste blood in my mouth. Swiping my tongue over my lips, I wince when I feel
the split.
“That’s gonna leave a mark,” I whisper, feverishly trying to get my hands loose from their
bindings. I momentarily feel like I’m succeeding until fire races up my arms and I realize I’ve
managed to rip the skin open at my wrists. “Dammit. What do all the heroines in the books
I read do when they find themselves kidnapped? Because I know these guys aren’t going to
let me go, at least not still alive. I may not be worldly, but I’m not naive nor stupid.”
Their comments have also let me know what they’re planning for me and it’s the stuff
nightmares are made of, which says a lot coming from a self-confessed crime junkie. The
tall guy with greasy, gray hair tied back with a piece of leather, whose cut denotes he’s the
president of this band of miscreants, has already stated rather loudly that he’s first in line
once the party really gets going. I had to read between the lines, but quickly realized that
I’m the party favor they intend to play with. Now, I’ve always admired the old ladies who’ve
finagled their way to freedom after being unwillingly taken. I even admire their tenacity for
waiting to be rescued, but I don’t want to be that woman. In my mind, these scenes weren’t
so gut wrenching, but in real life, it’s harrowing.
Shudders wrack my body at the thought of any of them touching me in any way, much less
like that. I’d rather try and throw myself backward onto the floor and hope I break my neck
or something than allow them to violate me.
Hearing a noise at the door, I look up and see one of the guys who took me leering at me
before he throws his head back and cackles. “Time’s almost up, pretty lady. Once we’re
done with you, there won’t be anything left for the vultures to snack on.”
One single tear rolls down my face before I can control myself. Seeing it, he laughs
menacingly, and pulls out a knife from a sheath at his waist, walking toward me.
I’m sorry, Nini, that I won’t get to tell you about my brief time with the handsome biker.
Right now, though, I’m so glad you didn’t come with me and you’re not here to experience
this torment.

This was a great start to a new MC series. I loved the characters and the story line. It was action packed, just the right pace and has great characters.
A chance meeting on the side of the road leads to fated mates for a reader and cover designer attending the Motorcycles, Mafia and Mayhem Book signing and the Enforcer of the Zephyr Hills Phantoms MC. It may take a few days before it becomes clear that they are fated mates, but when Chaos shows up at the signing on behalf of his MC as a courtesy to the organizer, Sapphire Knight, he runs into the woman he met on the side of the road when she was trying to fix a flat tire. She has no idea what Chaos has figured out, but she is ready to believe his explanation after she’s been taken and he rescues her from a rival MC.
This was a great story and the characters were wonderful. I look forward to more in this series to come. I just recently found Darlene Tallman and started reading her books. I’m glad I found her and her books. I love her stories and her characters.

This was a great addition to the Mayhem Makers World. I loved Lou and Sean.
She’s been trained since she was young that her body can be used as a weapon. Louisa “Lou” wants out that world, but she has to deal with her handler first. Will she ever be free to live her life on her terms?
Sean decided from a young age that he did not want to follow in the family business, so he took his own path. It put a strain on his relationship with his father, but he needed to forge his own path in the world. While working a case for the FBI he knows he has no time for a life, but when he runs into a sexy woman at the gym he finds that he wants more in his life.
I loved this book, it was such a great story in the MMM World and it was so different from the others. Lou is a woman living a double life, but she wants to get away from the life she was trained to live and make a life with Sean. Sean wants to live a life away from his father’s business, but his father is determined to have him take the rains and continue the family legacy. Each of the characters have to find a way to live the life they want within the world they are from. This was my first book of Jaime Russell’s and Melissa Filla’s but I loved the story and the writing and will be looking for more of their stories to read.
