Lourdes “Styx” Boyd is a firefighter and a woman that is independent, scarred, and non-committal. When her crew is called to a fire at a prominent location in town, she finds herself in a more dangerous situation than just fighting the fire. There’s someone in the shadows waiting for her and her crew.
Jeremiah Zeon is a rich man that has multiple locations and buildings. When he opens a building in a remote town he doesn’t expect the past problems to follow him, but when his building is the center of a fire and more, he believes that the past has found him and is threatening him again, only this time there is more at stake and in danger.
One night wasn’t enough for Jeremiah with Lourdes, but he messed up when he let her walk out his door. Now they are thrown back into a situation that could help him express how he feels and what he wants from her, but there is a lot to get through before they can find their HEA.
I enjoyed this story and I’m looking forward to reading more of D.M. Earl’s books in the Police and Fire: Operation Alpha books. I love her writing and how she brings other characters and situations from her Devil’s Handmaiden’s and other books into this world. She never ceases to amaze me with her writing and characters.

I loved this story of two people who’ve known each other forever finding out they have feelings other than friendship, and brother’s best friend.
Marco has been around the Westwood family forever and feels as though they are a second family to him. When he finds Ivy in a disheveled state and scared he instantly steps in to take care of her and comfort her.
Ivy has been looking for ways to meet her “person”, but hasn’t had any luck in the situation. When she finds herself in a situation that leaves her scared and hurt, she escapes to the one place she feels safe, her families hotel. Only she gets a surprise when Marco shows up to do some work in the room she’s escaped to. This leads to Marco helping her through the night and making her feel safer.
I love the Westwoods and Lonely Heart was a great story in the series. These characters have made a way into my book world and I’ve enjoyed reading all of the books so far. I look forward to more to come.

I loved this first look into the SOMC Pensacola Chapter by Cala Riley. A great start to what looks to be a great world and a great chapter of the SOMC.
Gunner’s not a man that trusts women easily, or really at all. When he meets the new mechanic that was hired by Smoke, his grumpy, miserable demeanor comes out and the new mechanic is not impressed.
Sloane is young, independent, and fighting to keep her mom, brother, and herself above water and a roof over their heads. Being so young and a woman at that, she has to overcome barriers in a male dominant field to get hired as a mechanic. She has two strikes against her right off, she’s a female and young, most employers that run garages won’t see that she has the skills needed or the maturity to do the job. However, Smoke takes a chance on her and then her life takes some twists that feel out of control. Now all she can do is hold on for the ride.

He’s not in the market for an HEA, but fate has other ideas for Shasha Semyonov. One look and he can’t seem to pass up on the beauty he sees in the coffee shop.
Brecken is the laughing stock of the city. Her ex’s exploits caught on camera and seen by so many people was unavoidable. Now she has to tell her brothers what happened and convince them not to take matters into their own hands.
I loved Shasha’s book and I love Shasha and Brecken. LLV has a wonderful way with interconnecting her books from series to series and they are always great reads. I love her characters as well as the stories, and you usually find shenanigans throughout the books. I love the quotes/thoughts/texts at the start of each chapter and I am always up for one-clicking LLV’s books when she has a new out. Stay Toxic was a great start to a new series and a wonderful continuation with past characters. LLV has a way of working her characters into a new series with just enough to update you on the character and show the interactions between the series. I love her writing and can’t wait for the next book in the Semyonov Bratva to come out. I devoured this book in one day.

I am loving the new chapters and characters of the Cerberus MC! Jericho was a great story and I loved reading about his past and his HEA.
Jericho was burned once and now his past is coming back to haunt him and he’s not sure he’ll survive this time.
Aspen has had a rough life since she was not able to stand up to her father. Her life’s been one torment after another.
Trust is hard to come by when you’ve been hurt, deceived, lied to, and believe that your future is dark. These characters need to learn to trust again. The years have not been kind to either of them and their second chance might not be possible.
I love the characters of this series and I love that we get to have the OG chapter included in the new chapters. I love the stories and I can’t wait to read more.

I nod, swallowing hard against the lump in my throat. “Okay.”
His eyes heat when he moves across the floor, erasing the distance between us. They travel along my body as if they’re mapping what I look like now. We’ve both changed physically since we separated. I’ve lost weight because money has been tight, and Cain’s bulked up a lot. “Tell me a word. One that you’ll say if I do something you don’t like.”
“A safe word?” I ask, brows furrowed. We’ve never had one of those before, never even discussed it. Immediately my body warms.
“Yeah,” he licks his lips. “A safe word. I’m always going to be a man of the law, and I’m gonna need that word. If I let my darkest thoughts out of the bag, I’ll need a way to reel them back in, if you don’t agree.”
His words are surprising. What has he been hiding under that good guy image, and badge? Has he been who I wanted all along, but he didn’t feel comfortable enough to show this side of himself? Rolling my lips together, I think about what I’ll use.
“I’m waiting, Ris. Give. Me. The. Word.”
A smirk works its way across my face. “Pages. That’s my word.” I don’t add that the reason I have so much confidence in myself now is because of what I read in the pages of the books I love.
He scoffs, tilting his head back, before bringing it forward to look into my eyes. He inhales, his nose flaring. “I’ll give you one more chance to back out of this.”
“I don’t want to back out of it.” I shake my head.
His finger rubs at his lips. “Do you want me to take care of you one more time? For the two barely-twenties kids who had no idea what they were doing, but desperately loved each other?”
Taking care of me sounds like something I want him to do. I nod, pulling my lips in between my teeth. “Yeah, take care of me, Cain.”
I watch as his eyelids drop into hoods. Those eyes of his roam all the way down to my toes, and then back up to my face. He widens his stance so that we’re looking at one another direct. In a way we haven’t for months. My chest pumps up and down as I wait for him to make a move. Nipples tighten against the material of the shirt I’m wearing, and my pussy clenches. I’ve never been as turned on as I am right now, and he hasn’t even touched me.
Leaning forward, he digs a hand into my hair, pulling my head back so that I’m looking up at him. “Remember that safe word, because I’m going to push your boundaries tonight, Ris. The way I’ve wanted to for a long time.”
The heat in his eyes is this side of dangerous, and I want this more than I’ve ever wanted anything. “Please…”
Dropping his lips onto mine, he takes this kiss. He owns my mouth as he slants his over mine. Pulling my lips apart, he slides his tongue against the roof of mouth. I reach out, gripping his uniform shirt in between my fingers. Holding on for dear life, because I feel like I’m about to swoon. The kiss is aggressive, with some anger attached to it. Which is understandable. He didn’t want the separation, or the divorce. It was all me.

Cain is a police officer and he and he’s loved one woman since he was a teenager. Things don’t always go the way we want them to, and Cain finds himself trying to get his wife back. He will have to prove to her that he’s a changed man and that he can be the man she loves and wants in her life.
Marissa has only loved Cain, but when she feels that she isn’t getting what she wants from their marriage, she takes drastic measures and changes herself. Now she just has to find a way to move on, but her love for Cain won’t let her.
I enjoyed this new series starter and look forward to more to come. However, I thought the ending of this was a bit scattered and a little too quickly finished. I know that the author is a great writer, but the ending of this one didn’t seem to be as complete as I am used to by her.
