Calla just wants to find someone that loves her and will show her what love is. She’s attracted to Jace, her brother in-laws’ best friend, but she’s also afraid of him.

Jace has been attracted to Calla since the first time he saw her in the diner on Christmas Day. He knows she’s afraid of him, but he does his best to make himself appear smaller and not as intimidating as she sees him.

I enjoyed this story, although it is tragic, the build to the relationship between these two is great. Calla has suffered a tragic childhood and has to find her strength within to move on and find a path of love in her future. After the abuse she’s suffered, it takes a lot for her to put herself in a position where she can have her heart shredded, but Jace proves that he is worth it. Jace is a man that wants to show Calla that she is not damaged and that she is loved and worth the love that her sister and father have for her. She has to find a way to move on and Jace wants her to open up and be truthful with her family. I liked the characters and the strength that they find within themselves and the love they have to give. I give this story a 4.5-star review.

An arranged marriage for a seat at the table that is a dangerous pairing.

Shay O’Reagan is the King of the Northern Ireland O’Reagan mafia family. He wants to find a way to bring the families together and a cease fire between the North and the South, his proposal of an alignment with his family in the South brings him to an arranged marriage. He has a lot of work ahead of him though as there many factions that don’t want this alignment or cease fire. Shay is also looking for revenge for the death of his younger brother and the path of his death will lead Shay down a dark path.

Emma Murphy has thought for years that she would be marrying Jack O’Reagan, but a curve ball has been thrown and she has just discovered that she’ll be marrying not only an O’Reagan, but a Northerner, and her family has no use for the Northerners. She has heard a lot of stories and has an idea of how they are and what her life will be like married to Shay O’Reagan. Her eyes will be opened but to many things, not just that the Northerners are not the way she has always thought. She’s a strong-willed redhead that has been told she’s as stubborn as a donkey backing up.

I loved this second book in The Young Irish Rebels Series. Shay is a dark, ruthless ruler that knows that he has to be this way unless he wants to be killed. He is not prepared for Emma Murphy though and the betrayal of the people around him will shake his world as well as his faith in those he has relied on for a long time. Now he has to forge a way to his future and find a way to keep himself and his new fiancé safe. Emma has many hidden talents that she learned from her older brother Noel. She can see the real Shay and that’s the man that wants. This story is rife with betrayal, backstabbing, and deceit, but it’s also full of action and great characters. I still don’t trust Liam O’Reagan. I love Shay and Emma, and I think that so far, my favorite character is Shay. He may be a leader and ruthless man, but he has such a strong vulnerability when it comes to his brother and Emma. I give this story a 5-star review and I am looking forward to more in the series.

Andrew Cortell, the last of the Cortell brothers to find his other half is finally dragged off the market. His comical love story was the last of the Cortell brothers’ books, but not the last of the characters in the series. Thank you for that!

Lorelei Henning is a woman looking for a new lease on life away from all of the drama and pain of her past. She needs to make new friends and get the people of the small town she moved to on her side and what better person to start with than the sexy guy giving advice about paint colors to a woman in the hardware store?

I have loved the Cortell brothers and their family since the first book with Eric and Kat’s story. These boys sure know how to drive their mother crazy and entertain their entire town along the way. Andrew’s love story is full of crazy circumstances, funny situations that include the entire family, tragedy and misunderstandings. I love the characters in the stories and the situations these guys seem to find themselves in on so many occasions, but most of all, I love the loyalty, kindness, loving family that the Cortell’s are and the women that complete each of these men. Jack got a little out of hand, but that’s to be expected, and I really hope his book is coming soon. I really want to get inside his head and hope that he finds his way back to the man he was. I love reading these books because they always bring out so many emotions, mostly humor, but there are also some tears. I loved the ending of the book and I think it was probably one of the best endings I’ve read in a long time. I give this book a 5-star review and will be watching for more books by Ms. Lagomarsino. I’ve loved every book I’ve read by her.

His whole life has seemed to be centered around protecting and saving people. When there is a fire at the local hotel owned by a young woman that Theo has known and been friends with since they were young, he finds himself going into the burning building with one thing in mind, saving someone.

Maggie Wilson is the town sweetheart, owner of the local hotel, and a survivor. She had a tough childhood and carries a secret around that she’s held onto since she was twelve years old. She’s afraid that she will be found a fraud if her secret comes to light, but with there being someone after her, she may have to share her secret to save her life.

I really enjoyed this suspenseful, tragic story. I love the characters and the story. Ms. Blythe has a knack for writing suspenseful stories that keep you wondering, guessing, and sitting on the edge of your seat trying to figure out who the bad guy is and whether the victim will be saved in time or if they can be saved at all. The back stories of her characters are tragic, heart breaking, and interesting. I really enjoy reading Ms. Blythe’s books and the way they are written is interesting, they are written in a timeline of events and things that are happening, rather than straight chapters. Whenever I read her books, I find myself lost in the story and characters searching for the person causing the pain and suffering along with the characters. I love every one of her books I’ve read, and this story was no different. I give this story a 4.5-star review and suggest it to readers that enjoy, romantic suspense, friends to lovers, or just a great read.
