After her motherโs unexpected death, Savannah “Ava” Smythe inherits three things: guardianship of her teenage sister, a house with an upside-down mortgage, and an illegal debt to a loan shark. Any thoughts of going to the police are dashed when the seedy loan shark threatens Savannah and her sister. In desperate need of fast cash, Savannah lands a job performing at Platinumโs Gentlemanโs Club, but she never expected to find her best friendโs brother working security there.
Ted โPunctureโ Chisholm loves his job. Thereโs only one rule: no fraternizing with the dancers. Not a problem, until he learns their newest dancer is his sisterโs best friend. He doesnโt know why sheโs dancing, but it isnโt his place to stop her.
When Savannah is brutally assaulted in the parking lot, everything changes.
Punc is eaten by guilt and insists on helping her recover.
In the process, he discovers thereโs more going on in Savannahโs life.
He also learns his sisterโs sweet friend has a will of steel and a sassy attitude that appeals to him much more than it should. Heโs determined to solve Savannahโs problems while taking the next step with her. It could cost him his job, but it might also risk his life. For Savannah, heโll risk everything to make her his.

Karen Renee is the author of the Riot Motorcycle Club, Beta, and O-Town series of books. She once crunched Nielsen ratings data but these days she brings her imagination to life by writing books. She has wanted to be a writer since she was very young, but it’s taken the last twenty plus years for her to amass enough courage and overall life experience to bring that dream to life. Some of those life experiences came from the wonderful world of advertising, banking, and local television media research. She is a proud wife and mother, and a Jacksonville native. When she’s not at the soccer field or cooking, you can find her at her local library, the grocery store, in her car jamming out to some tunes, or hibernating while she writes and/or reads books. My Review:โญโญโญโญ 4 out of 5
Savannah’s an independent, strong woman and hates to ask for help. She’ll do anything to protect her younger sister and keep them both safe. Even if it means she has to do something that she’d normally never do to make the payments that unexpectedly came up. Never expecting to find her best friend’s brother, Ted “Punc” Chisholm, working at Platinum’s Gentleman’s Club when auditions.
Savannah is determined to stand on her own and protect her younger sister, but at what cost. When more danger and trouble finds her leaving Platinum’s Gentleman’s Club after her first full performance, Punc feels responsible and guilty that he let her perform. Now he’s stepping in to make sure she’s okay and protected.
I enjoyed this book and I love the characters in the Riot MC series. This book was filled with page-turning trouble, and danger lurking in the shadows. I’m looking forward to more Riot MC books in the future.
