Kenneth โ€œMensaโ€ Ragstone has street-smarts in spades. As a member of the Riot MC, heโ€™s survived by trusting his gutโ€”and itโ€™s screaming that Whitney Blume spells trouble. From the moment their paths cross, she sets him on edge. The more determined he is to avoid her, the more he runs into her. Thatโ€™s a red flag Mensa wonโ€™t ignore. His Riot MC brothers say heโ€™s overreactingโ€”sheโ€™s just a new woman in town. But Mensa earned his road name by trusting his intuition.
Sheโ€™s everything he doesnโ€™t want in a woman. So why canโ€™t he stop thinking about her?

Whitney Blume isnโ€™t looking for troubleโ€”or bikers. She has a type good guys, clean-cut, funny, and friendly. Everything Mensa isnโ€™t. After a career-ending betrayal, the former FBI agent is keeping a low profile and reconsidering her life. But staying out of trouble proves difficult when her sassy attitude and undeniable attraction to Mensa pull her closer to the world of Riot MC.

After an ambush at the Twisted Talons bar turns deadly, Mensa and Whitney barely escape. With the vice president of a rival MC hunting them, they take refuge in a roadside hotel. One room. One bed. And a lot of unresolved tension. Giving in is inevitable, but their one night of passion sparks something deeperโ€”and deadlier.

They return only to find the rival MC is targeting Whitney, and Mensa will stop at nothing to protect her. When his woman is abducted, Mensa does whatever it takes to get her back, but will it be enough?

I shot Mensa a dry look. โ€œThose bikers have better things to do than search for me.โ€

Both of them ignored me.

Aunt Nadia narrowed her eyes on Mensa. โ€œHow long are you Riot boys gonna let this go on? There was a time when this would have been dealt with and the dust would have settled.โ€

Mensaโ€™s head dipped just a fraction. โ€œThat time is gone, Nadia. We went legit years ago now, and weโ€™re going to keep it that way. Police investigations donโ€™t move as swiftly as Brink did.โ€

The immediate change in Aunt Nadiaโ€™s demeanor made me brace. It only made Mensa grin.

โ€œI ought to wipe that smirk right off your face, young man.โ€

Mensa shifted his gaze to me. โ€œYou didnโ€™t tell her anything.โ€

My eyes widened. โ€œDonโ€™t you drag me into this. You dug your own hole, genius.โ€

Aunt Nadia glared at me. โ€œWhat did he tell you?โ€

I pressed my lips together and debated the most diplomatic response. โ€œIt doesnโ€™t matter, Aunt Nadia. Itโ€™s your story to tell, or not, and Iโ€™ll respect that either way.โ€

โ€œDamn straight you will.โ€

I glowered at Mensa.

โ€œWhy are you mean-mugging me, Blume?โ€

โ€œBecause sheโ€™s pissed at me, when youโ€™re the one who brought all this up in the first place.โ€

Aunt Nadia pointed a bony finger at Mensa. โ€œGet her mess taken care of. She canโ€™t be tip-toeing around town for months on end.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s been two weeks,โ€ I muttered.

Aunt Nadia glared at me. โ€œThree, young lady, or did the four days you spent in Jackson, slip your mind?โ€

I peeked over her shoulder and into her mug. Two-thirds of it held black coffee. โ€œDrink your coffee, Aunt Nadia.โ€ I lifted my eyes to Mensaโ€™s. โ€œAnd you need to learn โ€“ never mess with her before sheโ€™s had at least one cup of java.โ€

That earned me narrowed eyes from both of them.

โ€œDid you print those labels Friday afternoon?โ€ Aunt Nadia asked.

I smiled. โ€œYes, and theyโ€™re on the appropriate boxes already. Iโ€™ll go triple check the orders, and seal them up.โ€

Aunt Nadia nodded, then turned to Mensa. โ€œYou can go help her, so youโ€™re both out of my hair. And no necking back there.โ€

I swallowed back my laughter, because Iโ€™d forgotten how ornery Aunt Nadia could be without her caffeine.

My Review:โญโญโญโญโญ 5 out of 5

Two unlikely people that shouldn’t work can’t seem to keep away from each other or stop thinking about the other. One night and a unsuspecting incident throws them together.

Whitney is still trying to figure out her future and what she is going to do since she handed in her resignation. Her heart and her head can’t seem to come together and help her decide if she should leave Biloxi or stay and run her aunt’s business.

Mensa wants the woman out of his life and out of his club’s business and the lives of those he loves. However, he can’t seem to decide why his thoughts always go to her, or why his protective instincts kick in when she’s around.

I love the Riot MC books and the different chapters. The characters are always fun to read and the stories are always entertaining and suspenseful. Mensa’s Match was no different. The chemistry between Mensa and Whitney is off the charts and these two make a great couple. I look forward to more of the Riot MC books to come.
