Review of Captive Bride by Alta Hensley @AltaHensley @GiveMeBooksPR

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 4.5 out of 5
Dark, twisted psychological thriller that will have the pages turning constantly while you are reading.
“There’s a fly in the honey”.
“The contamination must be rid”.
“There’s a fly in the honey and Hell will be paid”.
“He’s not the first. He won’t be the last”.
“Please, please, please allow this man be the one who gets away”.
Ember has been living in Hallelujah Junction since she was a little girl left alone to fend for herself. Richard took her home and gave her the safety and home that she didn’t have living in the town below Hallelujah Junction. Richard’s a man who likes living off the grid, he likes Hallelujah Junction because there aren’t many people around all the time. They get tourists, but no one lives in the Junction but him and Ember. When trespassers come and don’t heed the signs all around, they pay the price. Richard’s a religious man that lives off the land and does as God tells him.
Christopher is a photographer that works for Rolling Stone Magazine and freelances for National Geographic. He comes from a prominent family in NYC and is not a man that can go missing without someone looking for him. When he finds himself chained to a wall in a basement in an old mill town, he believes that he will be rescued soon. Little does he know that his life is about to be ruled by a mad man.
This was an intense, dark, twisted story that had me on the edge of my seat and not wanting to put the book down for anything. A twisted psychological thriller leaving me wanting more and wanting to wait for it. The characters are twisted and crazy. The lengths that some people go to keep their privacy and beliefs protected are crazy at times, to say the least. The cake scene had me wrinkling my nose and saying, “no, just no”! I enjoyed the book, of course I like dark, twisted, demented books, so I enjoyed this book. I give it a 4.5-star review and suggest it to readers that like stories with dark tendencies and way some can lead the lamb to follow them for years before the realize they have been following the wrong person.

Review of Whistle’s War (The Demon Squad MC Series) by Monique Moreau

⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ 3.5 out of 5
Whistle is an ex-Bratva Vory, was a child prodigy and now he’s a big, bad biker that hasn’t completely grown up, until he meets a Romanian mafie princess. Tasa Lupu is the youngest child of the Lupu mafie and she’s looking for her independence from an overbearing older brother, so she hopped on a bus out of NYC, and took a pit stop in Poughkeepsie to take in the sights and see a bit of the world outside of her gilded cage. Whistle and Tasa are an interesting couple. They are both from the mafia world but different family lines and both want to have a life free from that life.
This was a good book, it was a bit slow for me to get into it, but once it started moving it was good. It has the suspense that The Demon Squad MC books prior have, and it has the big, bad bikers, but it seemed to be missing something for me, not sure what it was. It has the danger that most MC books do, and the entertainment of The Demon Squad MC books do. I like the characters and the story. I just felt it was a bit slow to get moving and pull me in. I give this book a 3.5-star review.

My ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review of Kansas: Ruthless Kings MC: Atlantic City #2 by K.L. Savage @klsavage_author @GiveMeBooksPR #TuesdayBookBlog

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5
The Ruthless Kings of Atlantic City have had their fair share of tragedy, betrayal and pain. It seems that Kansas’ road to love is no different, unfortunately.
Kansas knows how to treat a woman with kindness, honesty and care. He’s loyal, dangerous and yet, he has a soft heart when it comes to women and the elderly. He’s always there to take Homer to Bingo, even though he hates going, and he is always ready to stand by his brothers no matter what. The Atlantic City chapter of the Ruthless Kings have had to dig themselves out of the hole that they were put in by the previous president and various members that were more ruthless than they should have been. They are finally showing their community that they are a club that is ready to help their neighbors.
Violet has had a charmed life, but her whole world is crashing down around her and her sisters. Not only does she have no clue who her parents really were, but she doesn’t even know she has a godfather, nor, who he is. She’s about to get a rude awakening when she finally heals enough from the boat accident to talk to Boomer and the Ruthless Kings. Her life is still in jeopardy and she’ll take a couple of hits until things start to settle down for her and she’s able to see her future.
I love Kansas, he’s a bad boy, but one with such a big heart. I love not only his loyalty to his brothers in the MC, but his love and loyalty to his mother. He learned at a young age that we are only given one mother on this earth and we should cherish her for life. He’s a lethal member of the MC as the Sergeant at Arms and acting VP, but he has a soft side of him that really comes out with Violet around. He’s deadly, calm most of the time, and a man that can be counted on, but if you mess with his family or someone he loves, you had better watch out because there is no where you can go or hide that he won’t get his retribution. I love the Ruthless Kings, and I love reading the Atlantic City books because they are just finding themselves and what they want to do and where they want to go. The canvas is wide open for them and they have a lot to discover about their club and how they can make it their own. I can’t wait to keep reading and find out where they go, who joins them, and how they grow. I give this story a 5-star review and highly recommend any of the Ruthless Kings books along with the Asylum books, and the Moretti Syndicate books. Really any book by K. L. Savage. They will not disappoint.

BLURB
Instincts are all we have to rely on.
And mine were spot on.
There are a few things I don’t like to talk about in life.
My father.
And Kansas.
I hate him, and I hate that godforsaken state.
To this day, I haven’t loved because there’s a fear.
An inkling.
An instinct that I will be just like him.
I convinced myself our blood was rotten, tainted, and sour.
I believe I didn’t have the ability to be faithful or loyal.
But then after a blizzard, a sailboat washed to shore.
And she was there.
She’s here at the clubhouse now.
Violet Winston.
A name that matches the fields of lavender of her eyes.
I have no right to want her.
I can’t love her.
I’ll ruin her.
The more I get to know her, the harder I fall.
Usually, there’s a calm after the storm.
But not this time.
Between her father being a drug dealer.
The drugs hidden in the boat.
And the man that wants his drugs.
We are about to feel the havoc of a hurricane.
Truths hit us out of nowhere and they hurt worse than a lie ever did.
Love tests us and rips us open. Friendships are lost. Loyalty is damned.
I’m not in Kansas anymore.
But Jersey hurts just the same.

EXCERPT
I wake up in the middle of the night to the sound of whimpering. For a second, I don’t know where I am, but then I hear a soft beep of a monitor and realize I’m with Springs. I glance down, and my nose gets buried in the bush of her unruly, wild, curly hair. I’ve never seen hair like this before. It’s how I came up with the name Springs. Each strand of hair looks like a tightly wound coil or spring.
Since I don’t know her name, I’ve been calling her Springs.
She quiets down and settles against me again, and I do something weird, something I’ve never done before, and I’m glad she’s asleep for it.
I inhale the scent of her hair, and my eyes roll to the back of my head when I smell peaches. I have to hold back a groan and many, many other things that are not appropriate right now.
I’m such an ass.
She rolls away from me, and blood rushes through my arm. Static tingles my fingers, and I slide my arm out from under her and then fix the sheet as it slides down her shoulders. She has a small tattoo right under her collarbone, simple, delicate, and sophisticated. It’s a simple flower, a rose. The line work is thin, which gives it a feminine, elegant appearance. I want to lean down and kiss it so badly, but it’s selfish thinking, considering everything she’s been through. I shouldn’t want her like I do. I have no right.
There are a few things I tell myself to stay away from.
Love.
And hate.
I like to be balanced. Being right in the middle means nothing can go wrong. There are no expectations to be met. No promises can be broken. No disappointment can be felt. No love can be lost.
I live life in the middle for the most part. Personally, I think it’s worked out pretty well, minus being whipped and strung up like a pig for standing up for what I believe in.
Keeping my desires close to my heart saves me, even if what I want suffocates me every day.
Even though I want love, even though I want more, and I don’t want to slide between the legs of a club whore, I’m scared.
What if I’m just like my father? What if what I have isn’t enough, and I’ll want another life, another family? What if his bad blood runs through my veins, and I’m just this piece of shit human being? Maybe I try too hard to be a decent man because inside I know just how rotten I am.
My stomach growls, yanking me out of my pity party. I rub my hands over my face and look at the time. It’s four in the morning. No wonder I’m hungry. I missed dinner, and that means she did too.
I sit up and swing my legs over the bed as I stretch my neck left, then right, getting the cricks out. My boots hit the floor with a soft thud, and I look over my shoulder to make sure I didn’t wake her. Her curly hair looks like a huge cotton ball on the pillow. Her body is covered by the sheet and all I see are those curly coils. I chuckle to myself and fight the urge to reach up and run my fingers through her hair.

AUTHOR BIO
K.L. Savage decided they were tired of looking for the kind of books they wanted to read. They had an itch that needed to be scratched, and as every girl knows, nothing scratches better than an alpha.
They write about gritty, alpha males, sometimes their dark sides, and the women they love.
If you have the same itch, their alpha males should fix that.

Release Blitz: Some Lies Will Haunt You (Rivers End Rescue, Book Two) by Jane Blyth @jblytheauthor @GiveMeBooksPR
My ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review of Boss (Time Served MC) by Cee Bowerman @CeeBowerman

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5
This is not your typical MC. They don’t all live in one town or in one club house. They are scattered around the world and come together when they are needed. These men have all served time for a crime, all of them. Boss is the president of Time Served MC and lives in Tenillo, TX where the club started. He was a police officer before he served time and the town is in need of a new sheriff. He’s kind of strong armed into running for sheriff, but he doesn’t believe he will ever win. However, he should never underestimate an old guy that has been told he can’t accomplish something.
After leaving Seattle for parts unknown, Jennifer ends up in Tenillo, TX. She went from a corporate business owner to a small business owner and this one is her own and on her terms. She isn’t prepared for the danger that she finds in Tenillo, but she is also not prepared for the sexy new Sheriff either.
I loved this book. It’s full of action, sexy bikers, funny and sassy women and danger. The antics that Paula, Jennifer’s, new best-friend bring to this book are laugh out loud funny and entertaining. I love the characters and the story. It was a different kind of MC book, with the club members not being in one place but I thought it brought more to the story. I love the road names they have and the reason behind them. The first meeting between Jennifer and the guys that live out of town was great, especially, Preacher. I love the women in this book and the old geezers. I am so hoping that Connie moves to Texas with Jennifer. This book certainly left me wanting so much more. I give this story a 5-star review and am looking forward to more in the Time Served MC as well as the Ares Infidels MC to come.
My ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review of The Heir (Kingmakers Book 1) by Sophie Lark

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5
Wow! Leo Gallo, son of Sebastian Gallo and Yelena Yenin, is overconfident, spoiled and always determined to win and be the best. When he was in high school, he was the top of the heap, but now that he’s in college and at Kingmakers specifically, he’ll find himself taken down a peg or two, for a short time.
Anna Wilk, the daughter of Mikolaj Wilk and Nessa Griffin, is a determined, dark young woman that has not worries about taking over her father’s business when he’s ready to hand it over. Don’t consider to be a weak because she’s a woman. She loves her mother, but she’s more like her father. Her parents have never kept her in the dark of who they are, how they came to be together or any darkness in their past and she’s fine with that.
I loved this story of coming of age, growing up, learning about love and what true kindness, honesty, and loyalty can bring you. Leo has a lot to learn about being the heir to his father’s business and world. The Quartum Bellum that the students will compete in during their year at Kingmakers will help to make these students into the people they are training to be at Kingmakers, for their worlds they were born into. I loved the story, the details about Kingmakers, the intense way that these students have had to learn to cooperate as a team and the lessons they can learn from their studies and the competition. Ms. Lark is very detailed in her descriptions of Kingmakers and the whole book made me feel as if I were seeing everything with my eyes, not just in my mind from reading it. The story is entertaining, enlightening and full of page turning intensity. The Epilogue is awesome and steamy. I love Sophie Lark’s books and have never been disappointed in any I’ve read. I give this story a 5-star review and am anxious to get my hands on The Rebel next.
