Theo Black has moved back to the town he grew up in, River’s End after the woman he was in love with chose someone else to marry. He’s an ex-marine and a firefighter. His whole life has seemed to be centered around protecting and saving people. When there is a fire at the local hotel owned by a young woman that Theo has known and been friends with since they were young, he finds himself going into the burning building with one thing in mind, saving someone.

Maggie Wilson is the town sweetheart, owner of the local hotel, and a survivor. She had a tough childhood and carries a secret around that she’s held onto since she was twelve years old. She’s afraid that she will be found a fraud if her secret comes to light, but with there being someone after her, she may have to share her secret to save her life.

I really enjoyed this suspenseful, tragic story. I love the characters and the story. Ms. Blythe has a knack for writing suspenseful stories that keep you wondering, guessing, and sitting on the edge of your seat trying to figure out who the bad guy is and whether the victim will be saved in time or if they can be saved at all. The back stories of her characters are tragic, heart breaking, and interesting. I really enjoy reading Ms. Blythe’s books and the way they are written is interesting, they are written in a timeline of events and things that are happening, rather than straight chapters. Whenever I read her books, I find myself lost in the story and characters searching for the person causing the pain and suffering along with the characters. I love every one of her books I’ve read, and this story was no different. I give this story a 4.5-star review and suggest it to readers that enjoy, romantic suspense, friends to lovers, or just a great read.

Roman Villani is the youngest of the Villani brothers and is left in charge of the business in New York while his oldest brother and his wife are in Las Vegas. Roman always feels he has a lot to prove since he’s the youngest and if he wants to be taken seriously and considered to be a good choice to run the business, he needs to be ruthless and in control. However, that control slips when he sees the girl he loved as a teen that was sent away when they were younger because of her father’s betrayal.

Marchella Amante’s life has been complete hell since her family was exiled from Italy when she was a young teen. It seems to have been one thing after another in life dragging her down. She had a glimmer of good for a while when she was in college and then when she started her dream job after graduating, but that didn’t last long. She lost her mother to illness and her job because of her father. Now she’s barley making it by, and she can’t depend on her brother Frankie for any help.

I loved this second chance romance between two people that were forbidden to be together because of betrayal between families. Now that they are both grown and living their lives, they have to tread carefully if they want to be together, but there are still barriers that will need to be overcome before they get their HEA. Roman not only has to battle himself but he also has to battle for the woman that he has loved since he was a teen. I love the Sinfully Savage series and the characters in the books. The Villani men are sexy Italians that are dangerous, loyal and deadly. Ms. Luciani’s characters are always sexy and dangerous. I love her books and her characters. The women can be just as deadly and dangerous as the men. Marchella thinks of herself as weak, but she has no problem standing up to Roman or her own brother. She’s stronger than she thinks and with Roman by her side, she’s even stronger and fearless. I loved this story and I give it a 5-star review. I can’t wait for Dante’s story. The Epilogue has me anxiously waiting for his book to come out.

One night of partying and Lynn find herself in Zephyr’s bed and then her life is consumed by a man that wants to take care of her and help her out, but she has no idea why or what to do with him. Lynn is used to being the one to fix everyone in her life or business, but she never seems to find time for herself. What would she do if she did?

Zephyr has had his eye on Lynn for a little bit now and he’s happy he took the chance after Brick’s party to spend some time with her and get to know her. What he’s learned is that she is a woman that cares about everyone else but herself and works herself to the bone to fix everyone else and not care about herself.

I love the Kings of Vengeance and their women. The women are a crazy bunch that keeps their men on their toes all the time and Lynn will be a great addition to the ol’ ladies. I love the characters and the story lines of these books. The men are big, bad bikers, but like is says in the story, when they get around their women, they become someone different than what you see while they are out doing business as a club. They can be dangerous and ruthless, but they are also a family and act like it. I loved the scene in the basement of the funeral home. They act just like brothers and their women are sisters. These books always make me laugh out loud and I worry about the characters when there is danger nearby. I give this book a 5-star review and look forward to the next book in the series.

Damien Cross is a powerful man that has a lot of rumors running rampant about him and his family. He has money, clout, and a reputation of being a man that gets things done, one way or another. He’s a man used to getting what he wants when he wants it, but he has a hard time with feelings and letting them show. He’s all business all the time, but Anais has an effect on him that he can’t figure out.

Anais Monroe is the daughter of Monroe Media Corporation and the Director of Social Media. Her life has been turned upside down and she just wants to go back to a normal life, with her job and her family safe. She doesn’t want to have to worry about signing her life away to protect those she cares about, but she has a big heart and couldn’t live with herself if something happened that she could have prevented.

These two come from two different worlds yet, they seem to keep finding themselves back in each other’s lives and the danger just keeps mounting for them. Who is determined to hurt Anais and her family? How can Damien keep her safe and protect her family’s business from rumors or danger if she won’t cooperate with him? I love this book and these characters. Anais may not be as powerful in business or life as Damien is, but with him by her side, her confidence shows brightly. He supports her even if he tries to control a lot of her life. I have been so intrigued with this story that I cannot wait for the next book in the series, Steel Empire. The cliff hanger at the end was both frustrating and intriguing. I look forward to more of the Broken Cross Series. I give this book a 5-star review.

Christy had her mind made up when she first met Tony Sabatini, but she was not prepared for the man before her. When she left, she felt that it was for the best, but she began to have doubts right away. She still stayed away for five years, until Tony finally found her and left her a note that he would see her soon.

I loved the Sabatini’s. These men are loyal, sexy, dangerous and determined. Tony is an awesome character that has had to fight for so much of what he wanted in life only to find that he had to fight harder. He’s a loving father and person, but he does have his dark side, and I love him for it. I loved Tony’s story and Christy was a great match for Tony, but she had a lot of baggage. Christy self-sabotaged her own happiness because she couldn’t get out of her head and the ghosts of her past. I love the characters and the story of this book and I look forward to more of this family. I give this book a 4.5-star review and recommend it to readers that enjoy mafia romance with sexy older men and women that love them.
